PhilippinesCFO for CR1 visa

From what my Fiancée went through it is pretty easy - but I think it depends on the age of the person going through. Younger gets more "counseling" - their web site says what docs you need to bring
She needs to know your family names, Mothers maiden name etc, where you live all that kind of info

My Fiancée went on Monday to St. Lukes and Tuesday to the CFO so it is possible to get it all done in one week. But get there very early so you are first in line - the CFO has only so many slots but for American destinations has 2 seminar times morning and afternoon.

Remember while you need your passport for the session you do not need the visa in it, you will get a doc confirming you went through the session and then once you have the visa in the Passport you can go back and get the stamp inside the passport with out any work.

Hope that helps

Thank you so much.. Can i ask for a definite time that she got there? is it like 5am?

PhilippinesCFO for CR1 visa (Philippines)

Hi. Yes that is the best thing you can do for now. You'll get a certificate after attending the seminar. You will need that cert for your passport application. They wont require any visa yet. Soon as you get your visa, you may go back to CFO and get your sticker. :)

P.S. Please be ready with info regarding your petitioner/spouse like his phone number and address, details on previous marriage/s or divorce, phone numbers of your relatives in the U.S. God bless you!

Thank you so much, MIRICK02!!!!!!

PhilippinesCFO for CR1 visa (Philippines)
Good day!

I am thinking of getting the Guidance and Counseling Certificate (GCC) at the CFO. We just received NOA1 in Jan 28, 2013. Is it too early for me to get GCC, coz i still dont have my visa. Also, when i get my GCC can i apply for my passport afterwards? do they still need my visa in applying passport?

thank you again in advance!!!!!!!

my old passport is my maiden name when i did not get married,i will get new passport coz i used the maiden name of my husband so maybe they requesting valid id's for the maiden name of my husband i have only one id

One of the requirements is two valid ID with photograph. You can use your Postal ID and your passport in your maiden name.

You dont have to worry if it is in maiden name, they will accept it.

Also the expiration of passport is 5 years. You need not to worry also that.

I hope I understand your query right.

Congratulations on getting your CFO certificate!  And thank you for sharing your experience!

I, too, am a firm believer of not taking any chances...especially in the Philippines.  Kudos on sharing that tip regarding limited slots! good.gif

Good luck with the rest of your journey!

Yeah! specially in the Philippines... I laughed at that.

Thank you!

i only have 1 valid id thats is a postal id then i will bring my marriage and birth certificate is that accepted for ID'S requirments

Oh.. I read the requirements again from CFO http://www.cfo.gov.p...onals&catid=140

thats the link. and it said that Two (2) valid identification cards (IDs) with photograph

So i guess Birth certificate is not allowed since it has no photograph.

But im sure one maiden ID aside from your one married ID is allowed because i have seen a lot of them submitting that today and its accepted.

if i get GCC is this no expiry

GCC has no expiration date. Its a lifetime certificate. You need to present the original to DFA and Airport but never give the original, just the photo copy.

As for me, doing a CR1 visa, i need to get it before NVC received our file and asked for IV packet (biographical page of your passport is needed in IV packet). Because once NVC asked for your IV packet, and the documents has not been produced, you will only delay your process.

your old passport with your maiden name is accepted. Or any IDs in your maiden name. One IDs should be in your married name and one ID in your maiden name is accepted.

I dont know if the birth certificate is accepted, but i think it is in my personal judgement.
