Decorate my own home

Teach at the American School

Go to Ain Diab at night and sit on the beach

It just seems slower and more stressless there smile.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresA way for my fiance to visit while approval process is underway
I'm beginning to "freak out." I was so excited to hear that my fiance was having his interview this past Tuesday, but he didn't get his Visa right away. It looks like it won't even be soon. Our case needed to be "processed administratively". *ugh!* I have read that there is a way for your fiance to come to the US while the case is being processed after the interview. I have a few questions:

-Is it worth the hassle?
-How do you go about requesting something like this?
-Are there special conditions that need to be met?
-How long are they able to stay?

I haven't seen my fiance in a year and my heart is really hurting. Plus during the process of applying for a visa they "Strongly suggest wedding plans are in order," so I planned for Labor Day weekend. But now they're telling me they don't think it is a good idea to plan for anything just yet. I am getting very discouraged. Please give me some advice.

wow first u can not come to the usa to marry someone else.........but if u got married to someone else and left to go back to ur home and applied for marraige visa from ur own country i dont know if would be considered fraud or not......there are more experienced people on this board that can give u a much better answer than i have im sorry for ur problems
sara

If your fiance left you for someone else, you deserve something much better.

Secondly... do not come to the US to marry someone else just to be here. That is a BAD idea for a lot of reasons. If you want to be in the US I would suggest going the truthful route and applying for a visa in your home country.

I wish you the best.

Omg... funniest story about that cat picture...

My mom and dad went on a motorcycle trip to North Carolina once. They took the truck and a huge walk in trailer for the motorcycles. I was left at home to watch the animals. I called my mom after a day and asked her if she had let my cat Precious outside before they left because I hadn't seen her. She said no, but she's probably around somewhere. After a few more hours I got a phone call. My dad said "Guess who came to North Carolina with us?" LOL! MY cat had crawled in the trailer before they left and was inside the whole way to NC! They bought her some food and a cat carrier and took her to some local attractions and took pictures smile.gif IT was too funny.

Good Morning!

I'm already doing laundry with my new washer and dryer! (omg omg omg! smile.gif) It's raining a lot here in Ohio (just incase you didn't believe it the first time it was mentioned in this thread lol).

Here's my schedule:
Work 10:30 -3ish (I'm a server)
Home 3ish-7
Grocery shopping after Tarik gets home

I'm hoping to get everything else in my home packed away. The Laundry was taking up so much space. So I hope I can get all of that done today and maybe put some pictures up. I wish I would get my tax return already so I can buy curtains! lol The walls look so naked! We painted my living room purple. It's pretty crazy but I LOOOOOOVVVVEEEEE IT! good.gif

I tried to upload a picture but they're too big and I don't know how to resize them on my Mac. Grrrrr.

It must be nice to watch American tv lol.... we have some movie channels here... that play mostly older american made films.... and we do occasionally get new stuff , on show cinema... but not often.

Also, we have a channel called mbc 4, it has American news, Oprah, American Idol, Ghost whisperer, Charmed, Dr. Phil, Doctors, Beauty and the Geek... so I watch that channel most of the time.

That brings back memories of me living in Morocco for three months. I stayed humped up in front of the tube while my husband worked watching MBC. It was MBC 3 or 4. I can't remember which one. We would get up at noon everyday to have breakfast and watch Dr. Phil. Those were the days. At the time I was there it was Charmed, Dr. Phil, Oprah, So you think you can dance. And don't forget all those ridiculous commercials. Ahhh sweet memories.

rofl.gif I never watched Dr Phil until I was in Morocco lol. I Loved MBC4 and noon breakfast (with lunch an hour away...). and Mint Tea. MMMMMMMMMMM!!!

Jillai, I don't know how you do it. Do you guys plan on living in the US? If so, would he be cool with staying home all while you work and not go out without you because you may be jealous? If not, then I don't think you should have to be sequestered because he's "jealous". It's really unfair, IMO.

Im not sure what the problem with me going outside is exactly, I think it might also be the way he was raised ... his brothers r the same with their wives also, and their wives are Egyptian.

We r not allowed to go outside, unless we call them and ask if its ok.... its a little different for me though, I have to have a very good reason for going outside.

I cant just get up and go venture outside, no way... also, I dont live in the greatest area, I think that might play a factor in it as well.

We have had the talk about American culture and how American women are very independent. and do not have to answer to their husbands on every little thing they do... according to him, he understands that. and always tells me, You live my way here Jill in Egypt, and I will live your way in America... so ... Im waiting for that day to come.... I would say we should be in America no longer than 6 months.... so we will see .... wink.gif

I'm sorry to drag yesterday into today but I couldn't sit this one out. Jill. I'm sorry to say that you are setting yourself up for big trouble when you all come here. Many (not all) of these men come here and have the same "perspective" as yours does and we didn't live with them in their countries to teach them otherwise before they came here.

You are "training" (for lack of a better word) him to believe that you will be completely submissive to all of his control and this is not a "live my way here and live your way there" kind of thing. Once you get here, he won't understand why you have decided to "go against his wishes" by being American and going to the store alone or going out with friends without him.

This isn't just going to be a small issue but rather a very huge battle between you both UNLESS you are willing to be kept captive in your own home for the duration of your marriage together in the USA.

You need to start getting him used to the fact that you are a strong and independent woman and you, as a human being, have the RIGHT to do as you please and he can not hold you behind walls for his enjoyment only forever. The only One that can hinder your life is God and sure, you can respect your husband but he has to respect you as well. You HAVE to teach him this and work on his insecurities THERE ....BEFORE you come here because he won't change overnight.

I may be totally wrong in this and I pray that I am. Good luck and if you ever ever need to talk...I'm here for you.

rose.gif amal rose.gif

I agree. I understand that he said he will live "Your way" in America, but does he know what "your way" is? Maybe you should sit down and talk to him about that. Explain to him how you/women act in America. Describe the independence you are used to. Talk about this a lot before you come here. You'll never know until you're here but be bold and serious about this when you discuss it with him.

I saw a story about this on MSNBC Nightly News and I almost threw up listening to the things these women endure! Their men severely beat them (which is bad enough) but then they will do things like rip out their nails, shave their head, break their bones and cut them. There was even a woman that said he husband forced her to have sex with other men for money to pay off his gambling debts!

One woman that was rescued had her nose cut off. sad.gif

LeylaFemaleMorocco2009-04-10 08:23:00
Middle East and North AfricaA strange (or not so strange) situation...
When I was 19 I was told I have PCOS Polycystic Ovarian Syndrom. The reason I bring it up is... women with PCOS are less likely to get pregnant. I think the reason is because your monthly gift doesn't always arrive on time or sometimes not for a few months. I am afraid that I might not be able to have kids. The reason I posted this in MENA is because my MENA man really wants kids and the MENA area seems to put a lot of emphasis on family.

So since we have a lot of MENA mamas on this forum I wanted some advice. I was on birth control for two months (which keeps the gift coming regularly). I missed a few days in a row and couldn't catch up, so I stopped. Since then I've been waiting to get my gift so I can go back on BC but it hasn't come in almost 2 months. I guess I'm just worried, I don't know if this is "my normal" or if I am pregnant. I should probably take a pregnancy test, but I'm scared.

I don't even know why I posted this. I guess I just need support. I want to wait a little more time before I have a baby but I don't even know if I have the luxury of planning that. I pray that I can have kids. Does anyone else have this problem? or have some encouraging words?
