happy cloud, I got the same two emails. I was stressed out about the second one. My case was transferred to csc on July 24th. The last time I got a touch was Aug 3. So now I am waiting, I hope the card is on its way ...

Thanks, yeah I was completely confused I assume it meant it was now at CSC but the letter is so darn vague and is longer than what I posted. So thanks for everyone answering, I feel better now smile.gif

I just realized that me and my son have been touched a lot and didn't even realize it lol...

July 23, my AP
July 29, son's AP
Aug 24, both of our I-485's and both of our EAD's were touched....

Hoping I see something soon smile.gif

Well you do have your biometrics done now so hopefully this means your AP and EAD will be on the way soon smile.gif

CanadaAOS'rs...
Hey Canadian thread smile.gif I just posted this in the August 2009 AOS forum, but thought maybe my buddies here might have some insight :

Hello everyone!! I am now completely confused as to where my adjustment of status case will be processed. Here are the two posts I am referring to:

Application Type: I485 , APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: Case Transfered to Another Office for Processing

On August 21, 2009, we transferred this case I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS to our CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER location for processing and sent you a notice explaining this action.

OK so that was on 8/21/2009, then yesterday I got this:

Application Type: I485 , APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: This case is now pending at the office to which it was transferred.

The I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS was transferred and is now pending standard processing at a USCIS office. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you.

So the 2nd one now makes it sound like my case is going to be processed at my local office??? OR does it mean CSC has now received the transfer???? I am now completely confused headbonk.gif

I got my bio appt notice, I guess early this week I was just getting impatient. I really just wanted it to be scheduled so I could work around my vacation days and not have to take an extra one just for that! It worked out well the appt is August 31 and I am off that day already!! YEAH!! I can go with my husband so he doesn't get lost smile.gif

I told ya!!!! smile.gif

My son and I went for our bio appmnts today. We were the first there and were out in about 20 mins...

Still no touches...but hopefully now that we did out our bio...things will get moving smile.gif

Hapycloud, you are going to the same office right? It's in a strip mall, next to grocery...it's misleading cause the big sign says 'Application Processing Centre' I was expecting a USCIS sign...just an FYI...

Thanks for the heads up! Yes, I am going to the same office as you smile.gif I would have looked for a USCIS sign as well. WOW 20 minutes thats not too bad. Hopefully ours is that short as well smile.gif

Well My NOA date for AOS is August 6 and still no bio appt. I think mine got lost in the mail and now my husband has to wait 30 days for a service inquiry. People with dates after me have recived their bio notice so I am sure ours is lost. I guess this will put a delay in for us sad.gif

Does anyone know if you can make an infopass appt prior to the 30 day mark at your local USCIS office to inquire about it? I am off work Monday Aug 31 and would really like to be able to go with my husband for his biometrics since he has no clue where to go and I really don't want to have to take another vacation day to mess with USCIS.

Hey now Delaware is not the smallest state, that privlidge goes to Rhode Island. Traveling the whole state would probably take about 2 1/2 hours from tip of Wilmington to Fenwick Island. You should be fine giving yourself 1 hour travel time going down to Dover from where you live. Most of the traffic heads North in the morning so you should be good, plus the speed limit is 65 on Route 1 smile.gif

It's definitely true that AOS applications are being processed fast - I just received an email from CRIS saying they've ordered production of my green card. Only took two months, no interview because my file went through CSC.

Just as an FYI - I only sent in a copy of the vaccination report from medical, I didn't have it re-transcribed. But I also didn't require Gardasil shots, not sure if that makes a difference.

Wishing you all speedy approvals on AP/EAD/AOS! And thanks to everyone for all the helpful advice and tips I found on this forum - couldn't have gotten through this process without you. I almost can't believe it will be, like, two years before I have to fill out and file and track any more paperwork. I feel like that's all I've been doing for the last year...

I have to go down to Dover for biometrics as well. I am thinking after my husband does that, we will just keep on going south and go to the beach for the rest of the day smile.gif Make it worth the trip down. You will find there is nothing really exciting in Dover at all. The neatest thing there on the way to the beaches is the stadium for Nascar (just because it is so darn huge) and the Airforce base. Though if your son likes airplanes they do have an airplane museum (though I have never been there so I don't know how good it is).

Good luck sending in your AOS tmrw!

I really hope we get transferred to CSC....I would hate to get an interview and have to explain the address change after the fact sad.gif I just changed my address with them, and we are moving soon again...

The address they originally had was my husbands old address...but when I get here, he had already moved out and we are living at his dad's place (where I changed my address to)...our house is almost ready and we'll be moving again! if we go for an interview, all of our proof for utilities etc...will be in our house address and not the one I just sent them....maybe they'll be like #######?

Either way, we have access to both mail...and proof of residency for both...i'm sure they'll understand....all of our id's etc...are the same...so at least it shows that we are always together...

I hope they accept the EAD app for my son...it's the only way I can get an SSN for him. I'm not sure if they accept EAD for such a young child. I guess i'll find out...

I guess now, i'm just waiting on my Biometrics notice smile.gif

It would be foreign income, Hapy.

OK so I was looking at the foreign earned income form and I don;t think it makes sense for unemployment benefits. If my husband is getting EI isn't that considered unearned income? He no longer has an employer...or should I put his previous employer that he was working for prior to his move. I am completely confused here!

Hey all!

I am in the process of doing my US tax return, mu husband is currently receiving EI benefits. How do I list that on my US tax return, do I include it under the unemployment insurance benefits even though its not US state unemployment benefits. This has me confused!

I already know I need to file an IRS form for his foreign bank accounts over 10,000 and claim the intrest from this money under the bank intrest part of the tax return.

Thanks for your help in advance!

Just a suggestion, you people waiting for interviews right now should do what we did a few months ago. Do a daily call rotation that way you can get daily updates from other people and you only have to call once a week on a sepcific day. MTL has been known to batch and assign interviews all at one time. Thats what happened with us July interview people...there were 4 of us on the same day smile.gif

My question is this: do I contact this email address-Montreal-IV-DV@state.gov (with my case # etc...)? Or is there a better way to go about finding out my interview date?

Any and all info is appreciated-thanks!

The consulate will not tell you your interview date via e-mail, they just send a standard reply that your package 3 has been received and that you are on the waiting list. Best way to find out about your interview date is by calling the Department of State. Sorry I don;t have there number right now, but will repost it later, unless someoen else has it first smile.gif

Hi everyone

I have returned from my absenteeism on VJ! I really needed to take a break from all the obsessing on the interview and enjoy the time I had to bond more with my future family in Asheville as well as getting used to the massive culture shock of pick-up truck hillbillies and organic hippies living together in peacefull harmony (for real!)

It's been one hell of a long rough ride. Here it is July already and we filed back in October '08 - it seems like a lifetime ago. So much has evolved and changed since October and now we're about 4 days off from the end-mark. I told Kristin, she has every right to jump and down and say " I told you so!!" because I've been so dang paranoid about the interview. Truth is - this visa will used for 2 days (after waiting 8 months for it) as we will get married emmediatly after crosisng the border to begin the AOS process. My poor frail mom is alone living in Toronto and I can't dilly-dally on the Adanved Parole.

I'm excited to meet the people from this forum on July 8th! b]Anyone up for a pleasant celebratory group lunch on the 8th?[/b] It's the "Canadian" thing to do afterall, eh!?

Hello Kritsin and Toronto Guy!!! Our interview is next Wednesday as well. I am flying up to Montreal Friday morning and staying until Wednesday night. My fiance and I are going to be staying in the city on Tuesday night becausee of some bridge construction they are having from his town into the city. So while we are there, goign to go to the jazz festival since that will be going on. You and the other 2 couples will probably beat us to the consulate. My fiance doesn;t believe me that we have to be there so early. I told him HONEY I AM TELLING YOU 7am no later than that. So we shall see, need to work my female charm on him to make sure we are there early lol smile.gif We have all our papers ready just waiting for Wednesday, once the visa is in hand he is moving down smile.gif

Hey all!! So my fiance and I decided to book a hotel in Montreal (even though he lives outside Montreal) for the interview. Reason being: they are freaking closing the bridge near his house and there is goign to be a huge detour to get into the city so he said lets just be safe than sorry don't want to be stressed out super early in the morning on the way to the interview.

So anyways, my question is this: If check out time is at noon, should we check out before we go to the consulate? We were hoping to just check out after the interview. If worse case scenario it is getting close to the check out time I (the USC) could just leave to go check out. What do you all think? Any guidance would be appreciated. I think we are going to be out of there before 11, but I am nervous about it.

Finaly after like 15 mins of being lectured about how I have to return to Canada and cant stay in the US without a visa he let me go and I was on my way to the airport smile.gif So it really does pay afterall to keep your documents with you at all times, he even told me to do so. Anyways I had a really nice, relaxing weekend with my hunnie, especially when he surprised me with a ring at our favourite spot at the beach. Was soo totally worth the sunburn. I got home late yesterday and tried to call DoS but they were closed sad.gif So I tried today after work and ..... JULY 8, 8:30 am!!!!!!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Hi everyone at VJ

Just wanted to let you know that we had our interview in Montreal yesterday morning and we got it!!!! YAY.

it all went as planned... just like expected. Nothing unusual or unexpected. In fact, waaaaaaaaaay prepared and glad of it.

VJ's first in line... with all the right stuff. Very cool.

Out by 10 am ( only because computer issues - likely would have been a lot sooner)

I'll do a separate review... but it'll be short as I am moving out of Canada on the 11th and getting married by June 13th.

So, again, thank you to all of you who have helped to this stage. it has been incredible.

AOS next....

Cheers!
tom

Congratulations!!
