No trouble here, just think it hilarious that you seem to resent when help is given and using Religion as something to Create controversy.. None of us are arguing that God plays a role in everything we do, whether its Visa's, relationships, finances or just anything, it's just the way that so-called christians throw this around..

Darnell is suggesting you educate yourself and that's all.. It's called being a good steward.. So rather than being arrogant, take peoples suggestions graciously.. ok?

Peace back to you...

It seems like Darnell is trying to help.. But You're sooo right that's hillarious that he wants you to read something that could be helpful to you...

It's great to see newcomers that knows everything... Why are you on this forum again? lol, he he he.. oh man, what a riot..

K-3 Spousal Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsSent 129f Last August 30

Well, ok. But that is never unrealistic because some were able to get it through. Their I130 got approved after 39days. Also, the NVC will be the one who will decide if 129F or I130 will be pursued in which 129f for K3 visa is lesser waiting. There's nothing wrong with hoping anyway. We just don't want to settle for less. If that's your mind-set then there's nothing wrong with that. We are just thinking outside of the box which also possible.

Hello

"Thinking outside the box" is great for something you have control over, but with the Visa Process, it's best to not set any expectations.. You can possibly get a better feel once you receive NOA2, but even then It's dificult to estimate when your interview will be.. I think you can reasonably make some plans after you have your interview date.. Just dont pay any non-refundable deposits or buy plane tickets until the VISA is in-hand.. This process is completely un-predictable.. There is no ryme-or-reason to why some are approved in record times while others wait well beyond the average processing times..

Good Luck...

Yes I have a full legal marriage certificate!

Would it be a good ideat to start the process again?

Well, I know very little about India, but it seems the Full Legal Marriage Certificate "trumps" any doubts that the CO's could have about the validity of the Marriage..

I haven't got a clue why they would feel its invalid...

Anyone? Anyone?

Someone asked me why I didn't get married to my wife in Colombia instead.. This is a great example of why; because you don't know if you're actually married especially if there are customs which you don't know about... The cultural aspects of this stuff is too complicated to base all your immigration on..

I know you've been asked, but I did not see an answer...

Did you get a Marriage Certificate?

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaColombian Consulate - Immunizations Required
All

A question regarding Immunizations..

I am sending the Petition for My Fiancee from Medellin Colombia, but and confused about the Required Immunizations.. I am trying to prepare my fiancee for the required immunizations, the only information I found was the following..

http://travel.state..../info_1331.html

"IMPORTANT NOTICE TO IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICANTS CONCERNING VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS"

Is this the pertinent information we should use?

I asked my fiancee to gather her records and see her doctor about making sure all her vaccines are recorded and to get whatever vaccines she's missing done before we go for our interview..

Did I instruct her correctly? Is there a better way to handle this? What vacinations does she actually need?

I've not found any clear direction on the consequences of bad vacination records or not having the required vaccines.. Can anyone clear this up for me or direct me to a source that clearly explains this particular subject?

Has anyone had any experience with this? ...and particularly with Colombia?

Thanks everyone..

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaQuestion - About Interview - Possible Denial Reason
Guys

I am engaged to a wonderful woman whom I've know for about 3 years.. We've been engaged for about 9 Months now.. I recently completed the I-129 F but have a dificult question and reason for concern..

My fiancee is much more beautiful than I deserve and although I don't want to seem like I have poor confidence, I am about 19 years older and overweight. Without consideration to the Appearances, everything else about the paperwork, proof of relationship and so forth is in excellent shape.. So, what are the chances that the interviewer will think the relationship is not bono fide and deny the K-1 on that basis?

I have made dozens of trips to Colombia over the past 3 years. With Lots of evidence. This relationship has developed over time. I have many photos of us together with her family and I am certain her feelings are genuine.. She's never preasured me to submit the Paperwork to petition for the VISA, so I am certain of her intentions, but worried that the interview will only noticed how attractive she is versus my appearance..

Am I paranoid?

If not, what should I do to prepare for the interview to increase the chance of success with the Interviewer...

process for a tourist visa, does the fiancee need that kind of money for a speedy process to replace the visas that were lost. he was shocked at the amount the fiancee asked for the visas, as this far exceeds the original visas.

Here is some info that may enlighten you a little..

It comes from: http://travel.state....types_1263.html

The visitor visa is a type of nonimmigrant visa for persons desiring to enter the United States temporarily for business (B-1) or for pleasure, tourism or medical treatment (B-2).

Form is: DS-156
Nonimmigrant visa application processing fee, Form DS-156 (non-refundable): $131.00

if the child needs the biological father's permission for the child to travel to the united states. as the fiancee told him that it is required before the child can travel.

He will need to provide a written approval, which I believe is reviewed at the time of travel by Colombian Immigration Official...

I hope this helps... I don't wat to make any assumtions about your "Fiancee", but here is the info from the State Department Website...

www.state.gov for Visas and www.uscis.gov for Citizenship and Immigration Issues.. A tourist Visa is not an immigrant Visa, so it does not fall under the USCIS website, however, if you were applying for a fiancee visa, the process is available on the USCIS web site...

This website is a excellent source for information regarding the process for K1 / K2 as well as the K3/K4 Visas. The people here have been through the process and are familiar with the details...

Have your friend create an account on visajourney.com and ask as many questions as he can come up with.. The poeple are sincere and knowledgable...

You don't necesarily need to go to the Visa Appointment if she gets to that stage, but it is recomended.. The main thing you need to show is the relationship is legitimate and you've met her in person at least once in the past 2 years... If you've never met her in Person (within the last 2 years) you likely wont be granted the petition for the K1/K2 Visa..

However, it sounds like the relationship has other problems which you should seriously consider.. Maybe she misunderstood something a friend told her or worst and she is trying to get money from you.. I hope it's just a misunderstanding and you are able to chat with her about her intentions..

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaProcess of obtaining a visa k-1 and k-2
What kind of Visa did she get? It doesn't sound like she has a K1/Fiancee Visa... The K1 Visa requires that you as the Fiance submit the paperwork 1-129F to petition the US Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) for permission for your fiance to apply for the k1 Visa.. The Application Fee for the initial Petition is about 455.00 USD.. However, this Fee is paid with the Submittal of the 1-129F by the US Citizen.. This is not something she could do on her own.. There are medical exams and other minor fees related to the process.

If she is applying for a diferent VISA, I am not aware of any VISA that costs 3.5 million Pesos...

If you can provide more info, that would be helpful

I don't know if you know who I am, but ask maritza next time you talk to her...

Hello,
In regards to your question #3. I only had to show the fathers permission at the airport. It was never asked at any other time throughout the Visa process. We provided a letter that we got from the DAS office. It depends where the father lives as to what type of notarization you will need.

My opinion is that you should have sent the AOS package for your wifes daughter and the I-130 for her daughter inside the same package as one piece.

Thanks for your reply, but I am not sure if doing what you're sugesting is even possible.. I must apply for AOS for my wife since she is already in the USA, I don't beleive I can apply for AOS for her daughter since she isnt in the US yet...

I am simply looking for replies to the questions in my Original Post..

Question 1 - What do we need to do to schedule the Appointment at the consulate?

Question 2 - When is the year up? Year after interview date? or Year after the K1 Date?

Question 3 - When do we need to show the Fathers Permision for the daughter to reside in the US? at the Embassy or at the airport when getting ready to leave the country?

Thanks again for everyones help.. VJ is a huge and wonderful resource...

Can Anyone answer these Questions?

My wife is already in the US.. She arrived on a K1 Visa on Dec 2nd, 2010,

My wife from Colombia, had her interview last year for the K-1 on Oct 7, 2010, and and Recieved her K-1 Visa dated Oct 12th 2010. Traveled to the US, on dec 2 2010, and we were married 5 days later.. She recieved her Advance Parole (AP), several weeks ago and is traveling to Colombia this week using her AP.

Her daughter was listed on the K1/K2 and designated as "will follow"... We were told, by the Embassy, we have a year in which we could submit the needed documents to have her daughter here..

So the question is, we're ready to start the process. What do we need to do.. So we simply send the Appointment package to the Embassy? Or do we need to do something more?

Please let us know if anyone has any experience with this. We want also to know, when is the year up? Is it one year from the Interview? or from the Date on the K1 Visa? Then, once she recieves the Visa, how long does she have before she's reuired to enter the US, because, I am guessing that we need to do this prior to Oct 7, 2011 since that will be one year from our Interview date, but her mom and her daughter want to spend christmas in Colombia before her daughter comes her to the US and begin to settle in while waitin to AOS for the daughter...

Also, when do we need to show the fathers permission? We have a verbal Promise from the father that he will allow his daughter to come live in the US with Mom, so do we need the permission at the Interview? or is it only needed when she is ready to leave Colombia...

Many questions, please help...

Thanks

Strange that you would be upset. You posted the question, unless you're not sharing the entire story with the forum. People only answered you becaues you asked. If you're so convinced you have a valid relationship, then what's the reason for your post? My sugestion is don't waste the time of those trying to help..

I really hope that there is more to your story than you've revealed, because, otherwise this petition wont get approved.. And, I am worried about your rationality.

"Informal English translations are required for civil documents written in a foreign language."

Any ideas on how to properly provide "informal translations" of civil documents would be helpful..

What documents do they require to be translated?

Judicial Certificates / POLICE CERTIFICATES:?
BAPTISMAL CERTIFICATE?
BIRTH CERTIFICATES?
DAS CERTIFICATE?

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionColombian Embassy and Police Certificates

Your fiance needs to go to DAS to get her Certificado Judicial and Certificado Migratorio. This addresses everywhere she has lived in Colombia. But, she still needs to list where she has lived in Colombia as required by the G325 forms and all the other forms. If she has lived outside of Colombia, she will need to list those addresses and obtain a police certificate from where she has lived outside of Colombia. You need to have her read the information from the Bogota embassy: http://bogota.usemba...rant_visas.html or http://spanish.bogot...visaderes.html.
And, above all, read the procedures in VISAJOURNEY.COM, they are excellent.
Good Luck

These matters may be handled differently by the embassy in Bogata. In BKK one member had to prove to them where he stood on this exact issue. He did a good job & got the visa but it took additional time.
You may avoid a similar delay by preparing to present the documents required if the issue comes up.

Thanks for your help this evening..

I am wondering as I am gathering the docs..

I requested the past 3 years transcripts from the IRS... They are faxing them to me within the next 24 hours.. I also have copies of my Tax returns for the past 3 years... Interesting enough, my reported gross income for last year was actually 230,000, but its kinda wierd since I work internationally... I didn't actually pocket that money, but it is the income reported to the IRS which is partly due to travel expenses etc..

I am a technical person, totally oblivious to the tax stuff...
