All It's been a couple of months since I posted anything, I was up to my ears with work and outside the US. After some delay due to being outside the country, I finally filed my I129F.. I'm absolutely consumed with anxiety and hoping there are no issues.. I sent the I129F G325's with Passport Photos Birth Cert Copy of FS240 - Report of Birth of US Citizen Abroad Copy of Passport 15 Photos Boarding Passes Also a second copy of my Passport to show Stamps indicating the Trips to Colombia as well as her Passport Stamps indicating her trip to See me in Trinidad. Copy of My work permit in Trinidad to show that I was working there to associate her trips with the Work Permit.. Copy of receipt for Engagement Ring and the check for 455.00 Did I miss anything? K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Check not yet cashed... How long is normal	All I am wondering if this is something to get worried about.. Last Monday, 19 Apr I sent my Package to Vermont Svc Ctr via USPS. I received a confirmation on the 20th (next day) that the package was delivered... The Package contained the I-129F and all supporting Docs, along with a "Cashiers Check" for $455.00. I am only a little concerened, because I've noticed most timelines show checks were cashed within a few days.. My bank explained that it is unlikely that they will be able to use the check information to do an EFT, but honestly, it depends who you talk to at the bank.. I am a little concerned.. I was really hoping that my petition would flow smoothly through the process, but seems like it's getting a rough start... I'm hoping for my NOA2 by the end of may... lol.. Jus kiddin.. You'll find church is a place for worship and praise and edification, however, prayer is part of everyday life... Thanks for the appology. Please accept mine as well! You should feel free to start a thread about anything you like, just keep in mind the TOS otherwise, go crazy. We simply feel diferently than you about prayer, and regardless of what you've been accustomed to, it's fairly normal for people to ask God for help in all kinds of places.. that's why we love our country.. and there is absolutely no reason not to invite everyone who feels prayer helps, to say a few words either here, or anyplace else... I am sure you've seen prayer at a the beginning of a sporting event.. Well why would it be ok there to pray over a football game and not feel it's ok to pray over family matters? Unless you've got some complicating factors, I would say this process can certainly be done by most anyone... Be very careful with attorneys.. Dodi's story is unfortunely fairly common.. When I first started this process, I spent sometime talking to several attorneys, before I knew about VJ.. I didn't know much about the rules then.. Today, thinking back, I remember that some attorney's gave me advise that I've since learned was illigal.. So be careful and make sure you find a qualified attorney.. That one journey where you are so excited to go pick up your loved one and then that horrible sinking heart feeling when you have to drop them off Just keep thinking that this will all be worth it! Been there done that... I was on a project in South America.. Several times, I flew my fiance down to where I was working.. Oooh man, were we excited to see each other those times as she came out of the airport, but then was that day when we had to say goodbye at the airport.. I still have a photo that someone took of us one of those times, and it's clear in that photo of how sad we both were.. I can certianly Identify with those feelings.. I am sorry, especially if he's a USC, but regardless I am sorry this happened to you.. You sound like a very honest and responsible person to have taken care of your children the way you have and to consider their welfare. It is very sad that a scum-bags like this guy can treat you this way... I am very very sorry.. don't give up, there must be a way your children can secure thier passports especially with copies of the Report of Birth Abroad, you can likely go to the Embassy and find out how to get stamped copies from the US Dept of State.. These are available, just not sure what you need to do to get originals from VN.. Either way, if you meet some nice sincere american gentlemen in the future or your children decide they want to come to the US when they're older, it would be good to have these documents.. Do you have the Birth Certificates with the fathers name? Either way, the Report of Birth abroad can serve as the Birth Certificate I beleive... Also, check in to the birth Certificate from the Dept of state as well.. If he filed the report of birth Abroad, then the DOS should have a Birth Certificate as well and you can request copies from them which will have the official raised seal.. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Great News - K1 Visa Approved	Thanks Everyone for your replies.. Man what an experience!! We had spent months preparing, and liteally the past few weeks, I was stressed worrying about little details that I may had overlooked.. You all know, that this whole thing nearly tops the list of the most importing things you'll do in your life.. And I put a ton of pressure on myself because I did not want to let me or my fiancee down by overlooking something critical. Anyhow, it's was really great how smoothly the interview went, but seriously in some respects, I was ready to throw down some serious evidence.. Each time my fiancee went up to one of the Windows, I was nearby with My hands on all the proof and ready to fight to proove our relationship.. It's kinda like comming to a football game and the other team doesn't show up.. Well, Ultimately the goal was to get the Visa Approval and Thank God we have it.. After yesterdays experience, Maritza and I just felt extremely wore out and tired from all the preparation and litteraly the weight off our shoulders that had lingered thoughout the process and more-so the closer the interview came the heavier the weight became.. So after the interview, it seems like our energy plumetted and we slept most of the day. When evening came we looked at each other, and although every-once-in-awhile, we both shouted a said "we're approved" the enthusiasm for a night out celebrating was overcome with fatigue.. We did go out for while, but we ended up at Exito (kinda like a Wal-Mart) and then Maritza had a Craving for A Sundae from McDonalds, so that was the extent of our celebration.. All-in-All we're both excited and Happy, but there is a lot to prepare for now with the "wrapping up" of our apartment in Medellin, Packing her stuff for her entry into the USA and, planning that trip. I will fly down here and Accompany her back to the US.. I am considering booking first-class just to add a little token to show her how I appreciate the Sacrifice she is making to leave everything she knows to come to US with me... Not nearly what she deserves, but a little something.. I have one more week in Medellin, Myself, Maritza, Valentina (Fiancee's daughter) Maritza's mom and Maritza's sister and Brother along with one of Maritza's Uncle are escaping for 4 days to a little house in the country for some relaxation, food, and just enjoying each other's company. No phones, email, or television... There were 3 big things I had been dreaming about since Beginning this process.. One was Maritza's and my first plane ride together for the Interview, second was the interview and Approval. Those dreams were realized this week.. That was huge for me, since it's not always that dreams come true.. Third, is Maritza first steps into the USA and our drive from the San Antonio Airport to Del Rio (150 Mile Trip) together. I beleive realizing that dream is just around the corner.. Basically I've decided not to preasure Maritza to make that trip. I am letting her take whatever time she needs to leave Colombia.. But she knows, it's not that she's leaving permanently, however the mindset is it's not just a new chapter in her life, it's kinda like ending one book, and starting a new one... But I promised her, that Colombia is basically a 3 hour trip from the US, and not to think of it as leaving forever.. We're blessed to have gotten this far in this process with relatively few obstacles, thank god.. So I really hope the best for everyone who is still waiting for this day to happen.. Today, MAritza and I will head to the church and give god the thanks he deserves. God bless all of you who's helped us. And our next big thing is the POE... Looking forward to that trip.. Great news, after 4 hours at the Colombian Embassy today, Our K1 Visa was approved.. They asked for no additional evidence and I was never asked any questions.. Maritza was only asked about the dates of my last trip and how we met.. They told her the paper work looked good and they were approving the Visa.. I cannot possibly tell everyone how much the VJ Community has helped, but, there is no doubt in my mind we would not have been able to get through this without all of you.. Let me know (sometime -- you're occupied now ) how you ended up there & whether you're on a first-name basis with the flight crews on Colgan Air. I can also tell you a very funny story about Mrs. T-B.'s interactions with the Mexicans in Nuevo Laredo. Hey, I moved to Del Rio in 2001.. At the time, I worked as a field engineer for (Used-to-be) Cingular Wireless, now AT&T.. I was responsible for the Cell Sites from Uvalde and West, down towards Laredo up along the Texas-Mexico Border North to Sanderson, then up to the Intestate.. A huge Rural Teritory.. Del Rio was kind of central to that Teritory.. I no longer work for AT&T but they've been asking me to come back into thier Project Management Group,, I enjoy my current Job, but it's extensive Travel and, Yes, I am on the Colgan Flight every Monday and Return Every Friday.. Who knows, if they make me an offer I can't refuse, it maybe the best thing for Maritza and I to take the AT&T Job again so I don't need to travel.. But for me, Travelling as often as I do, isnt really a problem.. I really enjoy the technical aspects of my current job and the challenges, but, I cant be selfish anymore, since my soon to be wife is now here in the USA... Hey, Hope to meet someday..
