US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionMEDICAL at St. Lukes...
As I understand it, you get bad news but do not get any good news.

Your only clue is that St Lukes keeps your passport after the 2nd day.

If you interview is within a week of your medicals they will most likey return your passport and tell you its because they can't get it over to the embassy before your interview.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionI-134 question
Hello everyone,

I know there must be some tax folks out there who understand the I-134 requirments.

My question (questions) is (are):

At what point are the tax records for 2008 required for an I-134?

As soon as possible?

Only after April 15th?

Or just as soon as I get my 2008 taxes filed??

Thanks for any imput on this!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionI-134 - Letter of Emploiyment Question
You might want to think about including a copy of your bank statements for the past few months as well. Just to show that your cash flow is in good order.

I think the letter from your employer is a Must Have.

Hi,
We have a scheduled interview date at the embassy in Manila now for a K-1 visa. I am working on the I-134. I have all of my tax returns and W-2's for the past 4 years. But I have a question on the letter of employment. How important is it to have a letter from my manager on company letterhead? The reason I ask is I work for a large company that uses a service called "The Work Number" to verify employment and salary. I can easily login there and get a form sheet with all of the pertinent info and has the company logo on it. But it isn't an actual letter signed by my manager. That one would take some more time to obtain since I am located in the US and he works out of his home in Ireland. If I need to get an actual letter I am sure I can... but will take longer and our company prefers using the service to verify employment.

Also, how important is it to have letters from your banks if salary is more than enough to meet income guidelines? Thanks.

-Bryan

No need to declare any assets at all if your salary is sufficient. Regarding the employment letter, I'd better let someone from the Philippines chime in since handling of I-134s can vary depending on the consulate.

CanadaVolunteering while waiting for EAD
Hi, My wife is volunteering at the day care center across the block from our house. She can walk over in the morning and come home for lunch. Its great. After her green card arrives she is told she will have a full time job there.

Shir works in the nursery, 13 babies!! Of course she shares them with 4 others but she is very fussy when it comes to 'her' babies! laughing.gif

Its so sweet to listen to her talk about her special babies when she gets home. Her eyes just light up and she gets this big smile on her face.... heart.gif

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionMy will be removing conditions this June
Greetings,

My wife will be filing for removal of conditions this June. After that she will apply for citizenship as soon as she can.

I understand that she can not file any sooner, for citizenship, than 3 years after she removes conditions.

That being said... when does the 3 year clock start ticking?

From the date on her new 10 year card or from the date of approval to remove conditions??

Why do I ask you might question???

Well...

She has a younger sister who could come over with her parents if the timing is right. Her sister is going to be approaching 21 years old about the time my wife could become a citizen.

If we file to bring her parents over, after my wife is a citizen, this should include all younger children as I understand things. Yes? No??

This would include her younger sister...

But....

If this sister turns 21 after we file, is she still included on the parents application??

Grandfathered in so to speak...

Thanks for any info on this.

PhilippinesVaccination Requirments
QUOTE (sunandmoon @ Nov 15 2008, 06:06 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Vaccination Requirements

United States immigration law requires immigrant visa applicants to obtain certain vaccinations prior to the issuance of an immigrant visa. Panel physicians who conduct medical examinations of immigrant visa applicants are required to verify that immigrant visa applicants have met the vaccination requirements. See IV Vaccination Requirements for the list of required vaccinations and additional information.

As a fiancé(e), you are not required to fulfill this requirement at the time of your medical examination for a fiancé(e) visa. However, you may want to do so. These vaccinations are required when you adjust status following your marriage.

http://travel.state....tml#Vaccination

Ok, I now understand that they are required before a Change of Status. Last question is: Is the CoS required within the 90 day window?

Thanks,

GWN

PhilippinesVaccination Requirments
Good Morning (Afternoon) everyone.

It is so nice to have this site for help and assistance. Without it I would be pretty much lost. Thank you everyone for all your posts!

I would like to know when the vaccinations are absolutely required. I have a friend who just got to the US from the Phillipines and we chat from time to time. She is SOOOOOOooooooo very happy with her new husband and he is a great guy. A really luck SOB in fact cause she is a really sweet gal. But I digress... smile.gif

On our last chat she spoke about getting all the vaccinations for herself and her kids. With all the costs of getting her here, they are running a bit short of cash and were going to delay getting all the shots for everyone.

She thinks they cannot file the Change of Status until all the shots are given and are going to delay doing so. I thought a Change of Status was required...

I was under the impression that all vaccinations were required before she could apply for citizenship, not Change of Status... AND that Change of Status was mandated within the 90 day time frame.

She went through hell to get here and I don't want to see something go wrong. She said they called immigrations and were told as long as they were married its ok... I am not sure I would accept that...

Does anyone know the facts on this??

Thanks for everything and to everyone!

Yeah give them 1 to 2 weeks and try calling again, if your MNL case number ready for interview schedule and you could choose your desired date. In the meantime you can now work on the Document Verification which can be downloaded in the USEM website and get instruction there how to pay DV. In most cases this is the cause of delay of VISA issuance because this would take 3 to 4weeks to process... Here's the USEM website in the Phils. http://manila.usemba...v/wwwh3024.html you could download here the packet 3.

Goodluck!

mmm.. I think d.v. has been suspended, there are new proceedures that need to be followed....

Any one have a URL to support this change?
I would really like to see some official statement on this....

Pre screener - I was jst asked - So your daughter will just follow? and I said, yes.... no more follow up on that....

Final Interview - asked those common questions for K1..then... The CO ( window 29, i think early 30's, Lady CO) continued...
"so, your daughter, from your past relationship? ex bf?" Instead of just confirming her assumption, not to deceive them, I just replied, She's been my dependant since she was one month old, then was asked, Legal adoption? I said, informal adoption. Then she told me, "do you know that you cannot bring a child w/o legal adoptions? " I replied, we plan to legalize everything later and that we just included her on the petition so she won't be unknown later. She just replied, "ok".

Then, after scanning my papers again, she told me the GREATEST line I've ever heard from her....
" Okay, your visa is approved! wait outside and your name will be called again." I replied, thank you and she closed it with "Goodluck!"

wohooooooooooooooooo! kicking.gif

Again, thanks for all the prayers! good.gif

This is wonderfuil news indeed. I am very happy for you.
Because you told the CO that you planned to make the adoption legal you must follow through on that or you could have big problems!!

PhilippinesMedical Form
Hi, Thanks for all the replies!

I understand that the doctors at St. Lukes give the shots and that its included in the cost there.
However...
Everything I read here at VJ says the doctors will only give a few.
anti cervical cancer,MMR, HPV and varicella to name a couple...

The list of required shots is about 20 long...

No one can get all of those at one time. Not and live anyway... smile.gif

I wanted to get her started on some of the others on the list but was confused about this form the doctor insisted we needed to get from the embassy...

Hi,
I was reading over a post : http://www.visajourn...h...ost&id=4619

And the last few words have me a bit worried...

"I asked some of them why it took so long and it's either there are some documents missing or the age gap is too big."

What is this about age?? I was under the impression that age was of little consequence.

I am older than my fiancée and now I am worried that there may be problems that will result in a failed interview.

What can anyone tell me about this?
