QUOTE (tmma @ Jan 18 2009, 11:12 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
In the beginning it just seemed bizaar to me that the OP of this thread was looking for somehow the regular American taxpayer to pick up some of the tab for the costs of his fiancee's immigration...But he already explained that he believes Uncle Sam should pay because we welcome 'the tired, hungry and yearning for freedom masses' and because of that-his fiancee's immigration should be subsidized. All makes sense to me now.

Nope, wrong, wrong, wrong...

So far no one gets the point I am trying to make.

Of the endless supply of government filing fees, can I deduct any of them on my taxes??

After all, they are,in effect, nothing more than a tax from the government...

And it is legal to deduct money paid in taxes from the current year taxes if I itemize...

How are the filing fees a "tax"...? You are paying the Govt to perform a service for you and your foreign SO.

But-to answer your question...No, you cannot deduct the filing fees for your SO's immigration to the US on your taxes.

In the case of processing the paperwork for your immigrating SO-it IS a service that you pay for. Not every American has a SO immigrating to the US-therefore why should every other American pay for the costs involved? What about passport renewal fees...Or driving license renewal fees..? Are they tax deductible?
As far as paying for "these services" when you pay your taxes...You do not. The processing of your SO's paperwork by USCIS is funded with the fees collected--- NOT out of taxes paid by every tax paying American. Rightly so, IMO. I mean why should people with non-immigrating SO's contribute towards the costs associated with processing of my ( or yours, or anyone's) SO's immigration here?

Oh I am sorry-I didn't realize your wife/fiancee fell into the "tired, hungry" catagory. I thought you were requesting her immigration benefits to be with her because you love her. My bad. Go ahead and deduct your fiancee's / wife's immigration on your taxes.. Good Luck! good.gif

PhilippinesVery worried about the Medical
Good morning everyone,

My dear Filipina WAS so very worried about the up coming medical that she was not eating and just plain miserable. After scheduling her medical, it only got worse.

What's a guy to do?...

Well... with a bit of prodding from me and her mother we convinced her to go to the local clinic and run a 'pre-medical'.

Just some tests and an X-ray to show her that she was healthy. I never had any doubt she was healthy but all you married guys know better than to argue, me? I had to learn the hard way... blush.gif

At any rate, she got her results yesterday from the test run and everything came out PERFECT!!! kicking.gif

My sweet Shir is now happy and smiling again. When Shir is happy, I am happy good.gif

Best 2k I ever spent!!!

Just an option for all the nervous Nellys out there...

Our case got stuck at NVC for more than 5 weeks i think just because of Holidays wacko.gif and fortunately yes.gif was sent to the Embassy just last week , January 13 of 2009. I dont think our prospect to have January Interview date is possible anymore. My fiance called the embassy 3 days after they got our case and then he found out its already in their system but didn`t send the eligibility letter yet , or didnt show eligible yet on their database and '' NO Go '' show on the computer yet according to what the call center operator said. We have to wait at least 2 weeks before we can schedule an Interview date, or just after it shows on their computer that the letter is already sent then we can call to schedule interview date again.

Now i want to ask if its possible to call or email the embassy within that 2 weeks to be able to find out in advance if they already release my eligibility letter and that it shows on their system that i am already eligible before calling the Visa Information Services again. Who`s im gonna look for in the embassy? is it still Grace and Lorraine? Thanks VJers !!

God bless and Goodluck to all of Us and those who are on their way to Medical and Interview. good.gif

I was told the same thing, call back in 2 weeks... so I called again in 2 days... whistling.gif

Got my interview set up right then!!

I would call again after a week at most...

This article is full of ####### and I'll tell you why..........

It doesn't mention the incredible benefits of beer......

Take a look at the Serenghetti........

A lion chases a pack of Zebras, they catch the weaker, slower zebra, and eat it. The remaining members of the herd are the stronger ones. This is the survival of the fittest (follow me). This leaves behind a faster, stronger herd..........

When u drink beer, it destroys brain cells. But not any brain cell, it destroys the weaker, slower brain cells, leaving behind a faster, stronger brain.......

So.......Cheers Baby!!!

Yup!
And when that lion charges its only the ones who can't handle their beer who get caught. Once again leaving only the stronger.

The newest I-134 forms do not have a space for them to be notarized and do not require it.

If you are using an older version of the form, it is still valid, but it DOES require notarized.

Where are you interviewing at? Manila? If so Shir will also have her interview on the 6th.

As far as the new I-134 is conserned, NO, you do not need to have the newest version of the form notarized. The old forms are still vaild but they must be notarized.

Bank letter is good but I think I would also incude a statment as well. But thats just me... The more information you can show the better it is.

Im not sure how they calculate the deliever fees, IM guessing its done on how far they have to go to deliever or we got overcharged one. If it was the later 200 pesos is a small amount to have to over pay and they did get the visa to us fast considering it was over the christmas holidays. Good Luck on your interview.

Do we still need to send a text to Delbros after we pay the application fee?

Or is there some other way now that Delbros is no longer the visa delivery service?

Phil
PhiLandShiRFemalePhilippines2009-01-22 10:49:00
PhilippinesJust found this on the Embassy web site
Visa Delivery
The issued visa will be delivered to the applicant's designated address by Air 21 (the Embassy's authorized courier service provider) within 7 to 10 working days. The visa delivery fee, which is determined by the courier service, is paid by the applicant. This fee to the courier service is separate from any fees paid to the U.S. Government. Applicants do not need return to the Embassy to pick up their issued visas. You may visit AIR 21 for more details.

Shir just told me that her appointment letter was delivered by Air21 not Delbros.

So.... after paying the visa application fee the process was normally to send a text to Delbros....

With those folks now out of the picture, who do we send the text to? Or do we need to send one?? wacko.gif

Phil

Yeah I think "wemissedbigdaddy" is right!!!
Your fiancee just need to pay the visa application fee at the bank for over $100.
Then the bank will give her the DS-157 form.

Good Luck...

Ok, thanks for the update. I must have been thinking of the DV and that is all gone now..

Phil

You need to count your blessings you don't have to deal with DV

We did and when it was going on it was a major pain in the #### for so so many people......

Oh yes, I count my blessing each and every day now and her name is Shir...

Supply and demand ... to many beautiful woman to few handsome men so us ugly guys get more than our share kicking.gif

All comes down to supply and demand..nothing to do with submissiveness or anything else innocent.gif

Of course there is.

I only beat my wife when necessary!

QUOTE (HelloWorld08 @ Jan 7 2009, 10:34 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
thanks guys...

Hi, Congrats on your NOA2.

I got my letter from NVC in less than a week.

Have a great trip to visit your love and good luck on all the rest.

I took a hugh pile of papers back to the Phil's when I visited my love at Christmas.

All my I-134 support papers and all of the visa application forms. Some required filling out live on the web and then directly printing them. This was not an option for my girl in the Phil's so I filled them out and printed them while I was home.

Take Care!!

Post in the China Section, Not the PI section.............. wacko.gif

Maybe if your fiance moves here, to the Peoples Republic of California, you might be okay. There are lots of Communists living here on the Russian River. Perhaps Bohemian Grove.

Oh now now.. that will not help the poor girl any.

Being member of that silly party does not matter here in the US any more. Has not mattered for almost 50 years.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWhat does an illegal immigrant have to do to go back to his country on an airplane?
Would he need some kind of proof he is a citizen of Mexico??

Maybe Mexico would deport him back to the USA as an illegal??

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionUpdate on interview in Guangzhou
Perhaps this is the straw you seek:

Her Question:

2. Question - When did you meet ?
Answer: Toward the end of the year 2006 - month November.

The actual truth:

yes i was only there 1 time, she answered it correctly. it was in April of last year, first meeting her and her family, i spent 1 month there

Just my thoughts...

Hi to ALL!

Wanted to get some ideas, about the interview question asked for the K1 applicants here in Manila.
My fiance got a noticed that our NOA2 delivered last Dec 2, 2008.
What will be the next step on that?

Thank You in advance!

r_29

Congrats on the NOA2!! I hope I am right behind you! kicking.gif

Make sure you get the I-156, I-156K and I-157 using CURRENT forms. The first time I printed them, I followed links here at VJ only to discover they were expired. Go directly to http://www.state.gov/m/a/dir/forms/

The long wait is almost over. Hang in there!!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionMEDICAL at St. Lukes...
As I understand it, you get bad news but do not get any good news.

Your only clue is that St Lukes keeps your passport after the 2nd day.

If you interview is within a week of your medicals they will most likey return your passport and tell you its because they can't get it over to the embassy before your interview.
