PhilippinesI-134 Copies of Payroll Checks
Now that I think about it.... the pre-screener would not accept our I-134... I sent IRS transcripts and the pre-screen insisted that W2 were required and because Shirr could not provide them, the form was given back to her with instructions to show it to the Counsel if asked... she was never asked...

We still have the I-134 with its offical stamp and everything. Someday I expect we will need it so we will hand on to it.

I will be bringing to the interview copies of about 4 recent paychecks along with an employment verification letter. My employer is a small company and his checks do not have an attachment listing any year-to-date info. I will just make copies of the checks before I deposit them. Does anyone think this will be a problem. All input greatly appreciated.

PhilippinesI-134 Copies of Payroll Checks
I gave Shirr about 2 months worth of pay stubs. I would guess that copies of your pay checks would be ok. I think the purpose of all this is to show a steady, current income.
As far as I know, the CO did not even look at them...

Unfortunately, I am a 1099 employee so there is no pay stub, just the check. I just hope that making a copy of check before cashing will surfice.

If you know you were exposed to TB at your work as a nurse then say yes. I think the greatest jeopardy you could have would be to lie...

Hi fellow VJers!

I am a nurse and is currently working at a hospital. During my internship i dealt with patients with communicable diseases. Being in a medical profession, there is a higher chance encountering a patient with TB.. so how will u answer the question during the interview if asked if i had contact with people who are infected with Tuberculosis. What is the best way of answering this as to not jeopardize my interview and papers as well.

Thank You for the replies as i badly need this cz i'll be having my medical soon!!!! Thank u!

My fiancee will be living in Iowa. There are a number of Filipinos here in the Cedar Rapids area. I am sure there are many in the Minneapolis area. Here there is an Oriental foods store that is owned by a Filipino. It also serves as almost a meeting and welcome center for other Filipinos. Perhaps some of the Asian foods stores also are places where you can meet other Filipinas. There was an article in the Daily Planet http://www.tcdailypl...t-asian-markets maybe some of these have a board for you to put your name and phone number for other Filipinas to contact you. Maybe you can make contact through The Asian Pages http://www.asianpages.com/

Also here in Eastern Iowa there is a Filipino-American Association. I am sure with the size of Minneapolis there are ways of meeting other Filipinos. Here is a link that has other links to Filipino organizations in your area. http://www.filipinol...sota/index.html

Her questions were all based on checking to see if she knew me and if we had talked about future plans.

PhilippinesGo with her for interview?
If you can afford to go, for sure go! But if not, its usually OK. These ladies from Philippines are tough as nails, they just don't know it!

Just call her and be supportive. Go over some of the interview questions found here in the forums and she will be fine.

But most of all, tell her to be honest in her answers. If she does not know an answer its ok to say 'I don't know but I have that information in my papers and I can look it up if you want'.

It is no time for her to be shy. If she can't hear a question or does not understand what is being asked, its very important for her to speak up and say so!!

Good Luck!!!

Sometimes I just want to hit him with the pillow or sleep in the living room away from the eerie sound
I wake him up and tell him to sleep on his side, but sometimes I feel bad about it coz I don't like to disturb his beauty sleep, especially when he had a long day at work. Though he wakes up and he tells me his sorry, and sleeps on his side..

I tried going to bed early too, and wearing ear plugs..
I hope in the future I will get used to it and it will come to a point that I won't be able to go to sleep without hearing his cow-mooing sound like snore lullabye tongue.gif

any tips on this on how u dealt with this kind of situation..

Thank you and God bless to all

This will be my first Thanksgiving dinner ever and I am looking forward to it. I think that, in addition to the 20lb Butterball and its trimmings, a Filipino dish or two will also be on the table. My husband and I are both Ilocanos; hence, pinakbet and pinapaitan might likewise be in the works. Easiest is to use the transcripts you can order from the IRS for free. If using the form 1040 a copy is ok BUT I believe you must sign it, no copies of the signature. Print a copy and then sign in blue/black ink.

How is that easiest? You must order and wait.

How bout take a copy of last years tax return and run it thru your printer / fax machine and make copy, That sure seems a lot easier to me

My 2 cents

If you are making a decision for him... you are indirectly telling us that he does not know how to decide.
You should trust your husband enough to make his own decision.
You could tell him your opinion and views, still, he should be the one to make the final decision.

If the information is for him, respect him enough to forward it to him.

Btw, regarding the money thing, if he is the one who earns that money, let him decide where to use it. If your money is involved. That's another story.

If he still can think let him think and make the decision.

PhilippinesBirth Certificate Woes in Cebu, Philippines
With such a list of errors, Perhaps you should check into whether this is, in fact her birth certificate at all...

If you still have a copy of your first one perhaps you can make the claim that this new one is not actually hers and that it belongs to another person...

My wife had no trouble with the NSO when they printed out two birth certificates, marked "late registration" for the purposes of getting our application for marriage and later, her passport. But on my recent visit there to help her start the process of getting a spousal visa to join me here in Taiwan, where I live and work, the original document turned up, and it's a mess: her given name is misspelled, her middle name is her mother's, when it should be her mother's maiden name, etc, and the date of birth is off by two months.

How it is that this older document has turned up, no one can tell me, but it by law supersedes the newer one. Now, we are told that we must hire a lawyer, and petition the court for changes to the original document, which could take up to six months, and will cost about P15,000, about US$300.

Beside the hassle, it's a heart breaker because we want so much to get this done so that we can get on with our lives together.

Anyone have a similar experience? One piece of advice I did get is to get up to 10 copies from the NSO when things are right to avoid being haunted by an old BC with errors.

PhilippinesWhat's the most memorable event in your sporting life?

The best I can come up with is completing 'The Cannery' mission in Wolfenstein 2009.

That was one tought dude, my hands were shaking when I finally took him out.

I presume most of us here are into sports, either as a player participant or as a fanatico. And as such, there should be that one particular moment or event that gave us the thrill of all thrills and will forever be etched in our memory.

For example, our buddy from East Texas and his wife would probably never forget that day when the missus caught her first bass. Or, perhaps that day when the Stanford Cardinal roughed up the once mighty USC Trojans, a day that my friend will always remember as he was in the bleachers at the L.A. Coliseum, so was his son who plays the saxophone with the band from Palo Alto.

Mine happened 25 years ago, at Bonita Golf Club outside San Diego. With a 7-iron in my hands, I made a hole-in-one at the 160-yard 9th hole. Wow, what a memorable sensation that was! As if I just kissed my first date when I was fifteen. That was my first ace, to be followed by another one 24 years later at Eagle Glen GC in Corona, Calif.

How about you?
