K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhy is medical examination so expensive in London??

Local clinics set their own prices for an exam and vaccinations. Coming from the UK, you may find yourself with a bad case of 'sticker shock' at the prices for healthcare in the US.

Exactly!  Just wait until you're paying that each month for healthcare insurance. I'm still in shock lol

No one can say for sure because it depends on an unknown variable--the rate at which the CSC will complete the I-129Fs that were filed before yours. Historically, that completion rate has varied from month to month. At present, however, it is at an historic low and has been for some time, which has allowed an unprecedented build-up in petitions.

Though the published stats don't go far enough to deal with February petitioners, here is more information about different scenarios for all petitioners up to those who filed in January: http://www.visajourn...jection-graphs/

In short, things don't look good, I'm afraid.

Gosh! it seems like our patience will really be tested in that case. I really appreciate your comment. thank you :)

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedureshow to spend waiting time with spouse

Does anyone know if I am obligated to have a job in the US in order to get my wife's residence visa? I was wondering if a family member would be able to file the affidavite of financial support or if they will be looking at my income as well. And about my past 3 tax situation I can't seem to figure out how to fix this situation, or who to contact to see what the first step is.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Okay to your other matter. Before you get to the NVC stage you need to get your tax filings in order for the last 3 years. Or show reasons why you didn't have to file.

I woukd visit the IRS.gov site there's forms you can do for citizens working abroad and all that.

Here is the NVC filers thread read post #1 and #2 get acquainted with what you need to do next.

http://www.visajourn...lers-june-2013/

Thank you all for you comments and advice, I do live about 6 1/2 hours from the border but my family is about 16 hours from that border so that would be very expensive and difficult to be visiting on the weekends, but we do pretty much live on skype it has been a life saver thats for sure.

I will definatly check into the IRS site to see what I can do to fix my past situation, I didn't know I could do that. in the long run I will probably have to find a sponsor anyway because I won't make it that long without my family they are having a very difficult time without me, we have just started the process and from what I see on this site the majority of these cases take about 7 months so I'm thinking if I can just get a sponsor like my mother to sign as her sponsor I won't have to be working up there, (that is correct isn't it) If that is the case I think I will be packing my things back up to head down to Mexico and see how things work out for me down there in the mean time, (as long as it won't affect the process of getting her residency).

Any inputs on whether this is possible, just for me to head down to Mexico and have my mother be the one who signs as her financial support?

Either way I will be getting on that IRS situation, thank you for mentioning that dhweels !!!!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedureshow to spend waiting time with spouse

I appreciate all your input, your right Expedite won't work, and she did bring some ties to MX when she was trying to come up, but it was your work ID and copies of the title to our 2 houses in Mexico and the title to our van in MX, but they didnt think it was enough proof that she was intending on going back. So with that being said, I dont know what other ties she could possibly have to bring with her to the US consulate at the time of her interview for a tourist visa, so maybe I will have to suffer it out like most people do, I would move back to mexico but I don't know how I would complete the I-797 affidavit of support.  :(

But thank you all, I hope I have a speedy approval as well!!!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedureshow to spend waiting time with spouse

OK I just started the I-130 process for my wife in Mexico, I am a USC and I received an email on Jun 6th telling me that my case was received, but I haven't received the I-797 yet, but here is my deal: I was living for the past 10 years in Mexico with my wife and 2 daughters we now have together, they are both USC too, but in April I got a job offer in the USA and I moved back up and a month later I went to bring my wife and children up with me, and at the border thye wouldn't let my wife through in fact they took her tourist visa from her and said she couldn't cross as a tourist because they felt that she had intented living up here. So, I have never been away from my family more than a month at a time and I don't think I can handle being away from them for the 6-12 month process, I did send in a letter with my application stating my daughters are USC and I wanted them to attend school up here in August and because of my job I travel a lot so I was hoping to have my wife up here as a resident by the time the next school year begun, but I am now looking at our different options because I doubt it will rush things, so the options I have thought of and I would appreciate you input considering I have never done a single immigration process in my entire life and many people here have the experience I am thankful for many things I have already learned on this web page.

Ok so, I have thought of her filing for another tourist visa and bring in the I-797 when we get it and explain to the US consulate in Mexico that she wants to be able to visit me while the process is complete, and just be honest, but, I do wonder if this will just be a waste of money and time because of the probability of them issuing her another visa since about a month ago she had hers taken away.

Or, if I move back to Mexico to wait with my family, but then I won't have an income to file the I-864 affidavit of support, Also about that, since I've lived in Mexico the past 10 years I don't have any tax returns or W-2's for these past years, the job I started in April is the only stable job I have had for over 10 years now. so even if I do stay working up here I have no idea if I will be okay anyway, because I can't prove past years income.

Or if there was any way to expedite the process, i would go to extreme measures to get them up here with me.

Thank you all in advance for any input and/or advice you can give me

From all that have read and understand, they want to see pictures of you together, emails, chat entries, property that you share (house, car, etc.), rent receipts (if you lived together) with addresses, shared bank accounts, etc. Not all of these are particularly necessary, but it is always better to have too much information than too little just to be on the safe side. These are the types of things they want to see to prove that you are a real husband and wife in love with each other, instead of someone out to scam. I hope this helps some. I pray for all the best and congrats on your wedding! :jest:

My oldest and my 8 year old are from a previous relationship. My youngest is the son of my husband and I. It is no trouble documenting the things that have gone on. I have plenty of news articles, court papers and medical statements. My husband and I talk everyday so that's no trouble to provide chat records either. For the joint-sponsor I was told that their household size would be counted instead of mine, is that correct?

So are you saying the 8 year old is not your husband's child and from a previous relationship? And the younger son born you and your Moroccan husband's child.

Will you be able to sponsor him when it comes to the financial part of the petition process? If not, you need to start looking for someone to help with the sponsorship. From what I read, they are really strict on the financial requirements. And as the petitioner (like myself), we have to fill out that I-864 package.

I wish you the best because I know how it is so tough to be apart from your love ones! May you all reunite soon INSHALLAH

Inshallah! It has been very difficult for sure. We are praying for an end to all this drama so we can be a family again inshallah.

No, it hasn't been 8 years. We have been together for 3. We are both very upset that he has not been able to be with his family which is why I have decided to publicly discuss our issue in an effort to get some advice. He is in Morocco and since the fire happened after our son was born, finances have prevented us from doing our paperwork sooner, as I had mentioned. We lost everything in the fire, and in addition to the fire, I was in charge of my father's affairs and finances while he was in the hospital for the last 2 years. There have been some details left out because they are private and do not pertain to our case.

Ok, here goes a brief summary of my issue. My husband and I have been together since 2009 and were married in 2010. We have a young son that my husband has never been able to hold. :crying: In 2011 there was a house fire and my father was injured saving our son, he just passed Feb. 21, 2013 (my 8 yr. old's b-day) as a result of the injuries from the fire. :crying: A lot of things have happened between 2011 and now. I just filed the papers for our cr-1 3-8-2013. Basically, I have no clue as to what the whole process entails. During this time, I am battling health issues (a severe back injury) and raising a special needs child, in addition to my two other children. The fire has left me financially ruined and I'm finding it hard to be optimistic after all that's happened, but I'm trying to remain hopeful. Is there any way to expedite the process or does anyone know of any agencies or groups that might be able to help us with a sponsor or advice? I'm desperate to get him here so we can get our lives back on track. PLEASE, any advice would be very much appreciated. :help:

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresStarting the process to be with my loved one, have a few questions
Been dating a Russian woman for 3 years and now looking to get her over here and be together. We have a few questions and/or concerns we are wondering about. Firstly, she has been to America twice before we met on a work and travel visa over the summer with her schoolmates as she was in school to be an English linguist. After graduating back at her university in Russia we began the process of trying to be together. Originally, about a year ago, she filed for a student visa to come back to America to attend an ELS school as she has always wanted to experience studying here. We also wanted to meet for the first time. No surprise she was declined since she was single, no property, and essential no ties to her home country to assure she would return. After this happened I got a visa and spent a month with here over there. Fast forward to about a month ago. She again tried for another student visa and was declined. They asked if she knew anyone in America and she said no, so my fist question is whether or not these two declines will be held against here or look badly upon here if they see see these declines followed immediately by the start of the K1 visa. She is worried about getting three declines because she fears we will never have a chance to come here after that and we both can't imagine a life where we are not allowed to be together.

My next concern is over support. I am a recent graduate with a bachelors degree with no debt and owe no money whatsoever. I'm still rather young (we're both 23) and have worked prior a few meager jobs in my youth. (Walmart, McDonalds, ect.) Since October, after returning from Russia I have been working full time in a factory and added up will annually make 19,000+. The problem I'm worried about is that I have no tax returns or whatever it is to show this. My parents are well off and are willing to sponsor me to ensure this step goes smoothly. What is anyone's advice on what I should do here?

Next, when looking over the I-129F form, there is a few things I'm wondering as I want to hit as few roadblocks as possible. She goes by the name Christina, but in here passport it is Kristina. Do we just use that spelling, or put the other spelling in other names used, or am I just over thinking this. Also, she was issued a Social Security card when she came here the first time to work. Does she provide that number on the form or not?

To anyone that can help ease our minds I greatly will appreciate it.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion on G-325A
In preparing our I-129F, my fiance filled out the G-325A Biographical Information and signed and sent it to me. Having received it I can see that she swapped the birthplace of her mother and father by accident. (Lithuania, Uzbekistan)Everything else appears to be correct other than the fact that she used a pen to fill in how her name is shown in her native alphabet (Russian) rather than typing it in which is what i assumed was the correct way to do it.

So my question is should i just sacrifice another month so she can resend the document or are these not major problems as I've heard incorrect information can slow everything down. Thanks

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWill I have a problem with my K1 if we signed it 4 months ago?

The delay was actually a combination of her trip and a potential to get work experience at the olympics which actually fell through. In hindsight we know it wasn't smart. However, there is nothing she needs to send me. We both have letters of intent, and every other document needed so I'm really hoping I dont need her to send something back to me as we have had problems with mail getting here quickly. We vigorously went over everything and I'm certain everything that I need is sitting right in front of me, my only concern now is if they will make a fuss about it being from 4 months ago, even if i send calls and messages from then up until now.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWill I have a problem with my K1 if we signed it 4 months ago?

I was with my fiancee in Russia for 3 months over summer and we did all the paper work, signed and dated all the documents, and got everything else needed complete. The only thing we needed were online conversations, scanned mail envelopes, ring receipt, and other things to show proof of a serious and ongoing relationship that we have had for 4 years now that I only had available at my home in America. We decided to wait a couple months after I got home to send it as she found out her grandfather became ill and her family planned to visit Lithuania where he lived. Please tell me this delay isn't going to require me to get documents from her with a more recent date. We dated and signed our documents on 08/22/2013, and I can more than prove that we have still been talking everyday since then. I'm just worried there is some type of expiration or something that I may have to worry about. Sorry it is so long but anyone who can help me I will be so happy. I would like to send the K1 out as soon as possible.

Is CFO for "beneficiary" only to go to in her country?? Yes, I want to be at Gina's, and her interview in Manila as well.......I need a few extra laughs on those days! Hahahahah ....seeing Philippine government at work! Hey, I waited here in line at US Post Office to mail a letter for 15 minutes and became impatient....will love and enjoy the 10 hour waits in The Philippines.

PhilippinesAm I okay, or what do I do?

Greetings!  Thanks for answering the questions I asked and giving your advice/opinions.....its greatly 'preciated! Yes, its more "vacation".....just escaping the cold, harsh, frigid Ohio Winter, and making like a 'snowbird" to the wonderful warm Philippines! I still have permanate residence/castle in Ohio where Gina and I will live for the 6 warm months of the year. My mailing address will still be Ohio, and mailed picked up by family members there. I guess I will just "not" tell the agencies that I will be living (vacationing) in Cebu for 6 months. Money is no problem with the I-134c forms, as the government pays me a good monthly pension to live and vacation in exotic places! I just wonder how close to the interview should my financial records be from? I have them current to date - April 2013, is that good enough, or do I need to take them all the way to October 2013 when I leave for Cebu??? I also have a flight home from Cebu on March 31, 2014...Do you think that is okay to also buy a seat on the plane for Gina, and our POE be LA, California??? I know its hard to say at this point, but do you think we will be done with the process by then and ready to ship out OK by March 31, 2014?????? Thanks again guys and girls! You said being at her interview was great experience - really enjoyed it. Was that said "tongue in cheek" due to all the waiting around up there?! hahahaha Thanks again! Mike

PhilippinesAm I okay, or what do I do?
Hello to all! I am a "newby" going thru this process with some questions and would really appreciate some answers and/or advice. Gina and I are going thru the K-1 VISA petition process. I received the NAO1 on April 11, 2013 and going thru CSC. We are now waiting on the NAO2. I want to go to The Philippines in October 2013 to be with Gina and to live there for 6 months from October until April 2014. I also want to be there with her when she goes for her interview in Manila. First of all is any of this possible to do within the Visa processing guidelines? Will it alter or change my status in any way? And, do I tell them of my address change? Thank you, Mike & Gina
