Man this 30 biz days is a load of #######!!! It's been like 39 biz days since my de 261 was scanned and I still can't pay the IV fees and I have been calling and they say it will be any day now, on Friday I called and Abigail told me her supervisor just reviewed my document and approved it so it MIGHT be available sometime this week!!! How frustrating so many people who submitted it after me have been able to pay already

Whata deal! I've been checking the ceac site about 3 times a day to see if the IV fee is available and nothing, I called last Friday to request a supervisor review which they granted so I'm really anxious to get on to the next step cuz I was also stuck in the backlog in USCIS so I called NVC this morning and talked to Abigail and she said they are working on documents and packets scanned on June 9th but my ds261 was scanned on the 3rd! And she said it may just be a few more days but it could also be 30 biz days from July 17 when the supervisor review was requested!!! I sure hope not. Anyone received their IV invoice lately? And when was your ds261 scanned?

This is terrible! It's been over 30 biz days since my ds261 was scanned on June 3rd and still nothing with my IV invoice, I really thought today it would be available but nothing still, on another note I sure ame happy for Samreen she had such a terrible time with me in USCIS since June 2013 so I'm glad she is getting through this step a little quicker, but I want mine too!!!

USC never immigrates to the USA you just move there. ;)

If you're the USC, you're not immigrating to the US, you're merely moving back. Big difference.

Thank you I thought so, just wanted the reassurance.

thanks a bunch your both always so helpful

ok Im pretty sure this is in the wiki and I felt very confident until now that I am actually filling out the ds 260, it asks if I am or will be immigrating to the us with my spouse, I am the USC so I dont think I will be immigrating with her, but I am living in Mexico with her so it kind of confuses me??? anyone can help me with this to feel a little more easy minded?

Ok so I got the hard copy of the RFE today and they are asking for an English translation of my marriage certificate which, dumb on my part didn't send in, but I did send an original copy of our marriage certificate in Spanish and I was wondering if I have to send in another original or if a copy of the original and a translation and a page of the translator certifying that it is an accurate translation. It will be pretty hard for me to send in another original so will a copy be fine?

Thanks a lot everyone here has been great!!!

Ok I guess I can't complain, I wanted some action on my case and about an hour ago I received an RFE hopefully it's something simple because come on I've been with my wife since 2003 married for 2 years and we have two kids together and one on the way, I sent evidence of all that I don't know what else they want but hopefully it goes by fast.

Does anyone know about how long it takes to receive the mail with the RFE? Thanks

And congrats on all the recent approvals it definitely is motivating

Well my PD is June 5th and I was starting to feel left out with all of these cases being transferred because I haven't received any emails about my case (and I check constantly) but then I noticed someone mention that I won't receive an email because the form I sent in with my I-130 is only for the NOA-1 and I was supposed to re-file for e-notification, so I checked my case status.... and booya it says my case was transferred to my local office!!! Gotta love that news!!!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC Filers - September 2014

SWEEET!!! I've been planning on a CC by mid October, but looking at Saylin's spreadsheet, the average time from last scan to CC is 42 days which puts me at CC on September 24th!!! that would be awesome. But with the fact that I was at USCIS for just over 10 months tells me that my luck isnt average but I can still hope without exagerating!

Just thought I'd get that out there   :joy:

Really don't push it like that, you just might regret it.  Can you take a few days vacation time or is that what your already doing.  It would really be worth it.

Thank you, actually that is what I am doing, and I wasn't able to get Tuesday off because there is a cruise ship in town and those are the busiest days, Im going to just make appointrments to make sure we can do everything the same day. and if not, I will just go the day after her.

Thank you, and its great to hear from you Soloenta, how's everything going on your case?

I guess what Im mainly worried about is being able to do both things the same day, the medical examination and the biometrics ( fingerprints)  Does anyone kow how I can get ahold of the office that does the biometrics? So I can verify whether I need an appointment or not and the hours they are available to do the fingerprints

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNovember 2014 Interviews

OK now Im not only excited but extremely stressed too. Hopefully someone can help me. I just received my interview letter for November 14th which is a Friday, I have to work on the 11th (Tuesday) So I would like to plan on flying to Ciudad Juarez on the 12th which I would arrive around 3:30 so that day I wouldn't be able to do anything productive, but then I would have to do both my medical examination and the biometrics (fingerprints) on the 13th. I am just wondering if that is pushing it or if it is doable without any issues.

Ciudad is known to be a very dangerous city especially for women traveling alone, so I would rather my wife not going alone but to travel with me on the 12th, any suggestions would be very appreciated, I would like to buy the plane tickets but Im very undecided on whether to travel together or not.

Thank you in advance

I never had a case complete since my whole process has been an expedite. At USCIS I called and had an expedite done then once NVC gave me a case # and an invoice # I requested another expedite which after so many calls I have gotten to here.

Oh I see, well thank you and good luck on your interview, thats great you've been able to go through the process quickly, I hope the best for you and yours

So when did you get your Case Complete? I just got mine last week and I am wondering about how soon I can plan on receiving my interview date and about when it might be set for, and since you are going to the same embassy as I will be, I just wanted to see how long it took you in your case.

Thanks in advance.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsStressed out...

I sent the paperwork in for my husband March 8, 2013. We got our NAO1 March 14, 2013. Since then, I haven't heard a word. I have tried to use our code to look up our case online, but it says that the case can't be found, and it has been like that since March. I have called numerous times to the 1-800 number and have been told repeatedly by tier II officers that we need to be patient and that our case is in their system and that we can't view our case online because of a computer issue that they are working on. Does ANYONE know what our next step should be to find out what's going on with our case? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.helpsmilie.gif

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsLeft wondering...

We filed our I130 paperwork in March an recieved our NAO1 March 14th. We just got this message:

On October 30, 2013, we transferred your I130, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN, to your local USCIS Office for further processing. The new office has jurisdiction over your case and will send you a decision as soon as processing is complete or you will be notified if further information or action is needed. If you move, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address.

Does this mean we will have to wait another 8 months to get it processed? Has anyone else had this experience? huh2.gif

Here's the gethuman and you can click on the call free via web or click on the button to have them call you. Works really well.

http://gethuman.com/...al-Visa-Center/

Luckily we're done with that part of the process, but I'll add that working off a 800 Kbps Internet connection (barracks Internet and only Internet on base outside the military network) and no number that's contactable without a DSN phone won't help with people in situations like what mine was (I deployed with another guy who was going through it along with me with his fiance from England, and we were probably the most stressed out guys out there lol).

National Visa Center (Dept of State)NVC Contact Number

Hehehe. I remember once standing outside our barracks after finally getting my phone to work with WiFi calling them, they kept complaining about how my reception was so crappy, and I was just so flustered at that point, I was like, "I'm standing in a sand dune across the planet while my signal is being sucked into a router made in the '90s, bouncing off a tower built while Reagan was still President, bouncing off another tower probably built by Saddam Hussein and held together with duct tape and old AK parts, being routed through a fiber line being snooped on by every government from here to Holland, then piped under the ocean floor for thousands of miles and finally being split off at your government-bought switch into whatever Cisco headset you may or may not be wearing. Forgive me for not exactly being five-by-five, your grace." dancin5hr.gif

National Visa Center (Dept of State)NVC Contact Number

I don't really have any questions or anything, but I was just wondering something, does anyone else think the NVC needs an 800 number like the rest of the government agencies do?

When I was deployed, our DSN phones couldn't dial non-DSN or non-collect numbers, so I had to call back to my squadron stateside and have them hook flash me to the number in New Hampshire, which sucked because since I'm stationed in Ohio, it was an out of area call anyways. I annoyed a LOT of my coworkers back home, because usually it was only two or three of them working, and I'd be calling with questions a few times every week. I just think it seriously impedes people who are sort of forced to be overseas to have to dial a freakin' local New Hampsire number because they can't get an 800 number like everyone else.

I was just thinking back on it, and it makes me mad every time I do.

US Embassy and Consulate Discussiondocuments for interview
Here's what I'm referring to:

http://travel.state..../info_3741.html

•Family-based cases: All original documents establishing the relationship between the petitioner and the applicant

Alright, so, as I said above, in the I-130 I sent a copy of my insurance form (SGLI) and my vRED; the first is a single sheet of paper which the only original is kept by the Air Force. And as mentioned, the vRED is simply on a virtual DoD database; there is no "original" to speak of.
Now, I made a mistake in my above post; I did not send a copy of my will to the NVC, but I did send a copy to my wife. The will copy, as my lawyers instructed, has the word "COPY" on the top right hand corner of every page. She wants to bring it to the interview with her (we are frontloading) in case they want to see additional evidence. The problem in our minds is what if they ask for an ORIGINAL will? Or the original, signed in ink, insurance form? The first, while I can have it DHL'd to my wife before the interview, is back hom in Ohio in my house, as my lawyers instructed me to do. The second is locked away in a maze of file cabinets at my local MPF; they give me a photocopy to keep, I highly, highly doubt they will give me an original at all.
Now, the guy at the NVC I just talked to basically told me he had no idea what I was talking about (go NVC!). I tried to explain to him, but I didn't have access to a computer (I was using Wi-Fi calling on my phone and our Internet is set up so only one device can be connected to it at one time).
Now, all the other stuff I sent were originals (affidavits from my family, etc.) and she has the rest of the originals of the copies I sent her, it's just these specific documents that are throwing us for a loop.
Khal_DrogoMaleBulgaria2013-02-20 07:52:00
US Embassy and Consulate Discussiondocuments for interview
Okay, need info on this.
I'm deployed. I have no originals. I won't get back until after her interview.
I sent a photocopy of my life insurance (which names her as the sole beneficiary), because the Air Force keeps the original. They give me a photocopy to keep for my records. It's sitting in a file cabinet in my MPF back in Ohio right now. I highly doubt they'll let me have it.
I also sent a photocopy of my will; I sent photocopies because I have been told by lawyers not to send the originals to anyone. Only send them copies (with the word "Copy" on the top right hand corner of every page) and keep the originals back home, locked up, not bring it with me on deployment. Now, I can probably have my First Sergeant DHL it to my wife before the interview, but I'm really hoping I don't need to do that.
I sent my VRED, or Virtual Record of Emergency Data, which lists my wife as my spouse (and once again, sole beneficiary of all my unpaid pay and allowances if I should pass away). The key word is virtual, as it does not exist in paper form, it's a DoD database, so no "originals" per se exist.

Um....do we have a problem lol?

I would say notarize all 4 copies to them. That's what I did. Do NOT just notarize one page then make 3 additional copies of that one page. All 4 copies have to be originally notarized as they want to see the "raised stamp" of the Notary on all 4 copies. I don't quite understand what you are saying about the self addressed stamped envelope. Good Luck & God Bless

Oh, and also - YES, ROM form needs to be notarized before sending in. Our notary just signed and stamped at the bottom of the form - there's a blank space at the bottom of the page. Good Luck!!!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionReport of Marriage

We just did ours last month - sent to Washington DC Consulate since we got married on the beach in Florida. We originally put Gina's last name - her previously married name (she was widowed). When we received the Accepted and OK'd form back we noticed they changed her name on the form (using white-out and a pen) to her birth name which they got from her birth certificate we also had to send in. So nice of them to make that change for us, instead of sending it back and making us do it ourselves and send it back in.

That's just rubbish - just put the petition in the post!

I had my medical on the 23rd which was fine. I've also sent in my packet 3 stuff and done the readiness form. I've also used the 'contact us' web-page and asked for an interview date after 10th April 2014 as I'm in the US as a visitor for two weeks at the end of March. Our case has been 'updated' numerous times but you cant ring the DOS for your interview date any more, so I've no idea what interview date has been assigned, if any.

I hope your petition gets to London this week :-)
