K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	April RFEs	Oh wow! They received your RFE reply on April 29 and still haven't gotten back to you? That's definitely on the long side...Usually they turn those around within 2 weeks. I'm pretty sure that you should be receiving your NOA2 soon, I just don't know what's taking them so long with the RFE?   Stay positive, I know it's hard during these rough times but all we can do is pray and hope for the best. Its rare but possible.   It is also possible to be denied. Also rare but possible.   An RFE is exactly that, request for evidence. Just because you give evidence does not guarantee it is enough or matched other  Is there anything they could find that might cause them to deny your petition? If so, and they find it without you being upfront about it, they wont view that in a positive light. WHATEVER YOU DO NEVER LIE OR TRY TO HIDE INFORMATION FROM USCIS. If not then you should be fine.   Thanks but no, I havn't held back any info   The only reason for the RFE was a missing "N/A" according to them. I have searched the forums and overall online and have not come across a single instance of a i129f being denied with the paperwork being complete.   I have heard of it being denied to to the lack of a particular needed item. They "touched" us on USCIS, and changed our status to:   Request for Evidence Response Review On April 29, 2013, we received your response to our request for evidence. This case is being processed at our CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER location.     They say they will respond within 60 days. Are we going to be approved soon or what guys??!! Not trying to be debbie downer here, but since you did answer in the affirmative to question 2, your responses to question 3 DO become relevant. You simply cannot leave them blank if none apply. You must indicate N/A. A non response can be interpreted either way. You have to indicate Not Applicable. It sucks that you would need an immigration attorney to fill out the form, but this is one of those cases, especially since apparently you had a previous legal issue involving a former gf.  You definitely need to make sure you dot ALL the I's and cross ALL the T's. You might run your form by a lawyer before you send it back in. Good luck to you!    But there is no space to write N/A, and it says "Check all that apply". In this country, whenever a form says this, it means you can leave them blank if none of them apply to you! None of them applied to me so I didn't check any of them. Just to make this clear again to others: If you answer "no" to question #2, you do not have to check anything in question #3. You can leave it blank. That is what we did, and we got approved without any RFE's. i think it depends on who checks you.   If they are strict, i don think it matters if you answered No to question 2. It is still N/A. That is so frustrating for you. i'm so confused now. We are about to finalise our forms. Should we be writing N/A even though it is only a tick box and none of them apply to us?? Ok, yes, I agree ... none of the questions apply to you and there is no room to put N/A and I think the adjudicating officer was just being WAY too picky!  I am so sorry you have to go through the RFE process.   But it does ease my mind because a bunch of others in this thread (including me) answered no to #2 and were starting to think we'd get RFEs too.  Not that it's any better for you, but maybe we can calm down a little!   My sympathies and best of luck on getting a speedy approval!   Thanks!   Do you think it's possible to get 2 RFEs? Really sorry for your RFE, truly!  It sounds like you should not need to check anything at all!   But I'm still trying to understand -- you did answer yes to #2 then?  Because #3 is entirely dependent upon #2, from my reading ...?   I'm not saying you did anything wrong!  I probably would have done (or maybe I did!) do the same as you!  But if you did answer yes to #2 then I can at least see where N/A comes in, at least a little bit ... if you answered no to #2 then it wouldn't make any sense at all for RFE!  So was #2 yes or no?   Yes, I have been convicted of a crime related to theft with a former girlfriend, because we had possession of each others items. There was not any theft. As you all are already aware, our case received an RFE on 4-23-13.   The RFE says there is an omitted item on question 3 in part C:   "If you have privded information about a conviction for a crime listed above and you were being battered or subjected to extreme cruelty by your spouse, parent, or adult child at the time of your conviction, check all of the following that apply to you:   ___ I was acting in self-defense. ___ I violated a protection order issued for my own protection. ___ I committed, was arrested for, was convicted of, or plead guilty to committing a crime that did not result in serious bodily injury, and there was a connection between the crime committed and my having been battered or subjected to extreme cruelty."   Obviously, none of these apply to me, and they only had boxes available to check in.   I did not check any of the boxes. The RFE was that I should have written N/A even though it wasn't an option and there was no space to write it!   Sent it back today with N/A just written after the question. Additional processing, or AP, simply means that some additional background checks are being done and there is nothing you can do about it. Except wait. The fact that your fiance is from Iran, could be a reason. Not exactly a country on America's top ten list.     I figured that is probably the reason. But she is a 23 year old female. lol So she cant be too dangerous.    Anyway, can our case be denied? we were already approved at the USCIS. It has been at the NVC for almost 2 weeks now. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	October 2012 K1 filers	Based on what NVC told me (and also Pagong's recent experience)....it should take about 15 days from your approval date for NVC to receive the approved petition from USCIS and assign a case number. The estimate of NVC holding it for about 4 days (from the time they receive it) sounds about right.   You can call NVC and ask them about status. This is always a good idea as I have heard of some that did not receive anything by mail (lost in the mail???).   The best to you. They have received it.It is not lost   I have already called the NVC everyday for the past 2 weeks.   It needs to be processed and sent to the embassy. It has already been 7 days and nothing. Was it through CSC...or elsewhere? Are you sure it was NOA2...and not NOA1? The VJ Timeline and official USCIS estimates are roughly in line in projecting 7-1/2 months for approved K1 petitions through CSC. The other processing centers may be a bit faster...but I still have not heard of approved K1's from November and December. Can you give us more information on these November and December approvals? Did you filled out G-1145 so that you can receive notifications by email?
