I wanna share my experience with you with the seminar...I attended the seminar in Cebu..The seminar was conducted by the St. Mary Euphrasia Foundation Inc. - Center for Overseas Workers or SMEF-COW office..Before the seminar starts, you are going to pay Php 250.00. Keep the receipt of the said payment because you are going to present that to the CFO office where you are going to get the Guidance counseling certificate. There, you are going to pay again another Php 400.00. If you have already your passport with visa, you can let the CFO office stamp your visa. Otherwise, if you are getting the seminar in advance without the passport with visa (like what I did), you are going to go back there with the receipt of the Php 400.00 payment together with the certificate so that they will affix their stamp...

BTW, In Cebu...SMEF-COW & CFO office are located in different place...

Is PDOS means Post Departure Orientation Seminar? If it is, then that is already included in the seminar to be conducted by SMEF-COW. Yes, I had it already in advance. In doing so just make sure that you will not loss the receipt of Php 400.00 payment & the CFO certificate coz that will be needed so they are going to affix their stamp in the passport with visa... I'm working so I am maximizing my free time as much as possible, hence; taking things in advance if possible. Also it says that it is a requirement for fiancee/spouse who will get passport for the first time...

I just got I-129F, Petitionfor Alien Fiancé(e) from uscis.gov it seems to have already expired OMB No. 1615-0001; Expires 12/31/06 it seems to be the correct rev: (Rev. 05/23/06) How can I be sure that I have the most up to date form, do they change often?

The most up to date form is the one on the website. Before you submit then you should verify that it has not been updated. They may do it in a week or they may do it in a year or sometime in between.

You can click the gallery download here on the website... I think no need for u to get lawyer coz me and my fiance dont have. We were searching here in Vj and other sites that will help us in our papers. Keep all your proof with u, the emails, letters, phone bills, instant messages, and pics together coz you will need those when the time comes. But this time u need to prepare your I-129F, G-325a wiht passport pic (petitioner), G-325a wiht passport pic (beneficiary), your birth cert., letter certifying intent to marry (you and ur fiancee) proof..pics and email. What's best, K-1 or K-3 for Philippines?

Hi All,

My fiancee Hydy and I got engaged a month ago and now we're trying to decide whether to go the K-1 or K-3 route. We don't have really strong preferences about whether to get married in the U.S. or the Philippines. Basically we want to go with whichever option would get Hydy to the U.S. the fastest and with the best chances for approval of the visa. We have heard that the K-1 is no longer a very good option for the Philippines, that it takes longer and has lower rates of approval than the K-3, but we haven't really seen clear evidence showing that one visa is faster or more likely to be approved than the other. Can anyone out there point us to some info or resources that would help? Thank you.

i think go for K1...my friend is in Manila right now(K3 Visa)..me..next month...and im (K1 visa) my friend and her husband got married her in d philippines last november 2005 and this month she will going to have her interview and mine next month..so K1 will take around 7-8 months coz my fiance filed his petition June 2006. K3 will take one year and 2 months. So u can think of what u want now...They r both ok...but i miss my fiance already..heheheh! i know u miss Hydy too...go for the fastest one... :thumbs:

got the approval and the petition is being sent to the US embassy in Manila.. does anyone know how to track the petition using the case number to check the status of it to see if it already arrived there in Manila? i was hoping my fiancee would get her packet this week but she told me, she hasnt. it left the NVC jan 5. No there is nothing to track your case...though you can email the US Embassy in Manila or call them regarding your Petition file..if they recieved or not.Don't forget to mention your Case Number to Embassy......Best wishes!!

thank you all soooooooo much. i was feeling it was hopeless but because of you i've done more digging and found my old ticket on orbitz.com (thank you orbitz for saving old trips!) so i printed that out.
i'm also going to call my bank and credit card to give me statements from those months i was in morocco showing me using my ATM and credit card there. thats the best i can do!

also question about photos. i read in the guides to submit 2-5 photos...but is that really enough?????

me and my fiance..he said its ok to have 5 pics...but i have pics together with my parents showing he visited and met my parents. You can add ur emails,snail mail, chat logs and ur phone bill (highlight her phone number) showing u still have communication. Add also some remittances like western union. As what i am preparing right now. :star:

You can also put them(d pictures) in the coupon bond. 6-8 pages and put some captions. Believe me during my interview the consul had liked it...he just look into the pictures and read my captions with dates...he smiled....write some plans there..like wedding plans...what u r doing in the picture..it will give time for the consul and u to relax..put some stickers if u want... then have all the pages stapled not individually.

hi, i attended my CFO seminar after my medical...they didnt ask that from me..infact my friends wasnt able to have all the requirements as long as u have photocopied NSO, passport and the form that they will going to give and payment..thats all. Just have the important documents -NSO, passport and payment.

include these proofs: (coz these were asked by the counselor who interviewed me)

let her bring photos together, ur divorce decree(photocopied) if ur divorce and emails/chat logs.

she will ask also the maiden name of your mother..if ur fiancee dont know tell her now.

Is it in my best interest?

What I see from this man's post is 'should I cancel because I know I'll be importing some hapless woman to be my wife just as soon as I can'.
In my opinion, he doesn't love this woman, he's only sore because she's rejected him despite the 'obvious' financial benefits.
As well, as the fact she's 'wasted his time' when he could have been busily getting any other woman who would have him imported.

Don't worry... I'd say the majority of people are oblivious to the distinction between a fiance and a fiancee, and if USCIS send you an RFE to double-check that your fiancee is indeed a fiancee and not a fiance, I will... eat my hat, or something.

I'm always more bemused when people seem appear to get 'fiance(e)' mixed up with 'finance' - I'm sure there must have been more than a few petitions sent in with people talking about bringing their finance to the US, etc...

What was my point? Oh yeah - don't worry about it, don't even give it another thought!

So I had no idea what the extra e was for. I?????????????????????????????????????

If in my I-129F I referred to my fiancee as my fiance, but I always made sure to use her full name to clarify things, will they be confused on the gender of my fiancee and send me an RFE? Actually my fiancee asked me last night what the extra "e" was for on the NOA1. I said, "It must have something to do with the French." It probably does, but, I'm just scared that USCIS won't get my lack of knowledge about the "genderedness" of this word. I really have no excuse I guess. English is my native language. Wow. This one is...yeah...

Hi VJ November filers anybody here got bio-appointment already , I filed in Vermont service center mailed my application 10/29/10 so I guess that makes me a November filer too my NOA1 was dated Nov. 1/2010, was curious if Vermont is already sending out bio-appointment. thanks
