Birth certificate requirements!

Thanks a lot...we were so worried and have spent so much money trying to get his fathers name on the bc and have had no luck. I feel so much better about this now. Thanks for the comment.

Birth certificate requirements!

Can anyone clarify the requirements for birth certificates? Everything I read says it has to have BOTH parents name on it. Is that true? My husband has been trying to get his dad's name put on his since january of last year and they finally told him the first 3rd time he has applied for it that the government lost the copy of his mom and dads marriage certificate. And without it his dads name can go on it. And they refuse to accept the copy his parents have. So it doesn't look like he will get his name on it. Has anyone had a positive experience without the fathers name on the birth cerificate. Thanks for the help.

ohhh and emailing the DS 3032, takes about a week to process and then you should recieve an email, although I would just keep checking online ot see if the IV fee has been generated:) After you pay and print your ready for the next step. Dont wait for the packets, all the forms and instructions can be found online.

So I called an got the invoice number but he told me that I cant pay it until I receive an email requesting payment. Should I wait for the email or pay it now. Thanks in advance!

I understand that the wait seems like an eternity. And I completely understand how it feels to miss your hubby so much. It took 1 day from putting our case on to the NVC system, for them to invoice us for our AOS bill and longer for our IV bill, so I guess the best advice I can give you is to keep checking.

Checking for me is an understatement... :lol:

I have my email opened right now checking to see if i get anything. I keep hitting refresh. :no:

I am going to go crazy do this I know. I just don't want to waste a minute of time responding to anything. And I know that sounds crazy just missing the hubbie so much I don't know what to do. (L)

About 5 days to a week. Of course you call they will say 20 days. But I told them to hold all your processing and wait for me. LOL. Just think you will be soon soon in Jamaica getting your baby. hehe my bad.

You probably will end up catching me. You know how they like to play games make you think you are moving along fast and then the next step takes forever. But 20 days to get the bill would be crazy. They would get tired of me calling them. :lol:

Name of dad not on Birth Certificate

I am the sponsor and my Husband is the applicant. We are trying to get together the documents the NVC requires for his immigrant visa application. He has a copy of his birth certificate but it does not have his father's name on it. His birth certificate is not incomplete, his father is simply unknown and only his mother's name appears in the "parents" section of the document. What is needed (if anything) for secondary evidence? Would a sworn statement from his mother saying she doesn't know who the father is be enough or do we need something else as well?

I had the same concern my husband's father's name is not on the birth certificate. I put a post on the site and many ppl said that they had the same situation and it didnt affect anything. My husbands parents are married but for some reason his name is not on the birth certificate and they keep dening to put it on there. They just keep taking our money. I also called the DOS and was told it doesnt matter unless its a visa for a child.

When you call for information on your case and they tell you "its in a pile in the mailroom" that is unexceptable. I would have been like really. Dont worry about it the same thing happened to me. We received the email with checklist requesting ds3032 and the email 3 mins later a letter saying they received it. I also called to follow up on it.

When I asked the question to a immigration attorney that helped me understand the paperwork I was told that if you ever visited them and you lived together during that time frame then use those dates because it makes it look better that you did co-habitat at some time. So that's what I did and haven't had any problems.
You need lots of pictures that show you two together "over a period of time" no just the wedding photos. The more pictures of you together w/ each other and family is recommended.
As for the name change, that's your personal option to keep your last name or change it. With this being an immigration process everything on paper just is for the show to get the visa approved. That's why I said change your name. Once again its your option.
You have to do what ever it takes to assure that you don't slow your process down with a RFE (proof of relationship) request from them. They love to give these out. Hope this helps.

If you filing for IR/CR1 then select permananet resident.
The A number and The Alien Registration number are assigned if they have been issued a visa/green card before.
If no just put n/a.
To make your process easier and to prevent questions from the uscis for rfe I would get the last name changed after you get married. The super quick wedding might make them question your relationship. Make sure that you have pictures of the wedding no matter how simple it is. Pictures of any and everything well be needed in the process. Also remember to generate a paper trail (letters, cards, phone records, etc.) it will be needed for the interview. Hope you journey is a smooth one.

Write the case number on "every page". When i had to send in orginial documents I put a sticker on them w/ the case number wrote on it so I could remove it once we received the documents back.

I-864 Income question

You should use what the letter says. My case was the opposite of yours my employment letter had me earning $4000 less than what my 2011 taxes stated. The reason is I'm an overtime junkie so thats not included bc they dont project overtime in ur annual income. I didnt have a problem so u should be good to go!

NVC Question

I dont think u r alone with not being able to understand the visa bulletin. I dont really think that u need that bulletin. I "think" its more for other visa class (non family). Of course i could be wrong. Once nvc gets ur case things move faster even though they say that any papers they receive from u take 20 days to process. As u can see in my timeline below we have been at nvc now for almost 2 months just waiting for interview date now.

What type of visa are u filing for? And sorry to say since you are filing for kids a dna test will be required. It might not put that much time on the overall process though. If they havent put ur case in the system yet u might have another month to be at the nvc stage. I know how u feel when they tell u 20 days to enter info. I wanted to tell them they need to invest in some faster typers...lol! I hope they dont drag this out too long for u! I'm waiting on an interview as well!

Questions about AOS, IV, & interview

My company will not do the letter either but we use the "worknumber" as well. From the site u should be able to fax a letter to yourself that will include all the info needed. Name, hire date, yearly earnings, job title, company name are all included. This is what I used to submit with my AOS form.

I emailed in the DS3032 and did not send in a paper copy I didnt have any issue. I printed it out and then signed it and scanned a copy of it and email it back from my husbands email address. No issues at all!

My husband used Andrews Memorial. The physical was $9900J. He worked on getting his shots through a local doctor will he was waiting on all the information and documents to be submitted and approved through NVC. You can get a blood test that will show what shots u are missing. Just make sure if u are getting shots prior to the medical that they are at least 30 or more days out. I have seen Medical Associates tell ppl they couldnt accept their vaccinations due to they were too close to the medical. I dont know what that has to do with anything though. But vaccinations range from 2500J to 4500J. Hope this helps!!

Just sign into your wife's email address, and send the email yourself, acting as her.

And again, if you follow the email template, you do NOT need to attach a DS-3032. Just the email will suffice.

I definitely agree I did the template and we received the email back w/ it being accepted. So Saylin is correct stating there is no need to scan the document as long as you include all the information in the template.

Time between NOA2 and Reaching NVC

I think it depends on the service center. It seems that a lot of people are saying that CSC is not sending the information to the NVC immediately instead they are holding them to send a bulk of them. My service center was VSC and I was approved on 7/5/2012 and they received it at the NVC on 7/9/2012. You can always call it doesn't hurt just checking up on things. Wishing you much luck in your visa journey.
