Congrats Chox! My naturalization interview is on Monday, July 22nd at Milwaukee! . And I'm nervous. I hope it goes well. I'm wondering if they having oath ceremony every month. 

 

I had wondered the same thing about how often they have them there this is from the USCIS site.   Good luck with your interview !! :)

 

Naturalization Ceremonies

The Milwaukee Field Office conducts approximately 6-8 Judicial Ceremonies per month and conducts Administrative Ceremonies every other month for the Western District counties that are served.  This office does not conduct same-day Naturalization Ceremonies except for military personnel.

US Citizenship General Discussion29th July recieved interview letter and Today recieved email, text and website updated also,why?

Mine is still showing that they have scheduled an interview ... I have had that already and know the date of my oath ceremony.  So I don't put much faith in that system, it's obviously not a system they are forced to update on a regular basis. :)

US Citizenship General DiscussionMilwaukee Oath Ceremony Question

I'm hoping someone who has recently had their Oath Ceremony in Milwaukee can answer this one.

 

Are your family members able to come in to the court room to see it happening?  I ask because my 11 yr old would like to come along and I would need to take him out of school that day, and I don't want to do that if he wont be able to see what is going on.  My husband has said he will go regardless as he wants to make sure it all happens ;)

I have another question that I forgot to mention. It's about the signature on the naturalization certificate. At the ceremony, they didn't tell us how to sign it. The signature next to my picture has my first name, middle initial, and last name. Can someone tell me if I should I sign the certificate the same way as the picture?

Or should I sign it with first name, middle name, and last name?

 

we were told to sign it with our usual signature, no special instructions.

Hi Folks, 

 

I received the Oath Ceremony letter this week for Oct 10th in Milwaukee. I have a couple of questions.

 

1. I have requested a name change and I thought name changes were only possible when the oath ceremony was in a court. My ceremony is at Milwaukee Area Technical College. 

 

2. When I sign the back of the Oath Ceremony letter, do I sign with my current name or my new name.

I was offered that Oath Ceremony at MATC, but chose my earliest option instead - from what the officer said to me it is a special one (not sure for what though as she didn't say!) - but I am guessing so long as a federal judge is doing the oath swearing in part it doesn't matter where it is actually held - similar to those having their oath ceremonies in LA at the convention center.
