IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresMedical Exam (Apollo,Chennai OR Vijaya Diagnostic, Hyderabad)
If you are in AP and close to Hyderabad i would suggest you to go to Vijaya Diagnostic Center in Hyderabad.

If you are close to Chennai and would like to make 2 trips then you can choose Chennai.

It is your convenience. But my vote goes for Vijaya Diagnostic Center in Hyderabad as my parents visited this center and they praised the doctor and his staff. I responded to you earlier too in one of the other posts where you asked the same.

Good Luck! Thanks, Raj

I need to go for Medical exam, the consulate website says you can go to apollo in chennai or Vijaya Diagnostice center in Hyderabad. I am confused.
I need your help in deciding. Which one is better?

If You want to vote for APOLLO IN CHENNAI, Just answer (AC)
If You want to vote for VIJAYA DIAGNOSTICE CENTER IN HYDERABAD, Just answer (VH)

Please answer

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresvisiting my husband
I'm guessing that the country of orgin has a lot to do with it. I know that asking for a visitor's visa from China with a CR1/CR2 pending were just laughed at (in 2004). UK? Others here have posted from their own experiences that it was not a problem.
Best of Luck to the two of you!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresPermission from biological father?

Yes you need permission to immigrate, not simply to travel, from the father

No real way around this.

Good luck

Yes. Wife did not have sole custoday of the child. We obtained a notarized statement (and notarized translation of same) from the father (ex-husband) which specifically approves the immigration of the daughter to the USA.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI was shaking I was so happy

We got our NOA1 on July 31. And our NOA2 on August 23. That's only 23 days! I never thought it would be so fast. I figured we'd be waiting 3 months or more.

For all those people worried about the lack of activity for their cases....We never even got a touch. No touches, no RFE's, nothing. So don't worry about touches. They don't mean that much. One day I was about to leave for work. I thought I'd check my cases status before I went, hoping for some kind of change, anything at all. And there it was, simple, surprising..."This case has been approved."

To all those who are still waiting...good luck, have patience, and stay positive.

That's great!

Yes, VSC has always moved at light speed compared to the others (especially CSC  where time just stands still.)

QUOTE (lgg @ Aug 3 2009, 01:50 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
you can still visit for sure, I did/do all the time. You just have to make sure that you bring along 'ties to Canada' letters. Like a letter from your job saying when you're expected back, letter from landlord or a mortgage agreement and so forth... just things to show the guard at the border that you do NOT intend to stay in the US illegally. Oh, when you got you NOA1 letter confirming receipt of your documents at USCIS, take that along as well. Any and all things that show that you do intend to come back to Canada.

That being said... the guard at the border still has the right to turn you away if he/she isn't satisfied with what you brought. The key thing in all this is not to lie about anything. Be succinct and to the point with your answers and don't lie. You won't harm yours and your son's case if you get turned away but you may very well if you're caught lying.

Also, don't bring a lot of stuff with you that shows intent to set up domicile and dont' bring resumes and such -- you need to make sure you look like you're coming home, you know?

I stressed/still stress about this a lot when we first started so I know how daunting it can be.

Hope it all goes well for you.
Best,
LGG

Hi,
My husband is about to start two Cr-1's One for my son and One for myself.
I realize this is going to take some time to be processed and could be one year.
Is there anyway to still visit? I realize that this is a process and im sure everyone goes through being apart but
I would love to be able to visit my husband lol
I live in canada and He lives in washington, he is a tech and can only take off little time (as over the past year he has took off all his vacation time to come for holidays with me) I hate to think that we will only get to see each other twice in the next year.

please let me know if there is anything i can do? or if There is a way to still visit the states during the process?

You can always come visit during processing... provided you bring with you enough proof of ties to Canada, such as;

-lease / mortage
-letter of employment
-bank accounts

A lot of folks come and go while they are processing. Welcome to VJ!!!

I can only agree with this - my wife and I go back and forth. In fact, she lives close to the Buffalo/Niagara border so goes shopping in the states pretty regularly with no problems. I also get grilled at the airport when I come visit but I think the key is that they are convinced you do indeed plan to come back. I'm sure they look at your entry/exit history (they scan your passport after all) and can see that you frequently travel but you always come back when you say you will...

Not sure how I'd get through this process otherwise to be honest, kudos to those of you doing this trans-atlantic/pacific!

Welcome to the group, make sure to enter your timelines!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresNVC process question
Hello all, this is my first post, I have been trolling a while and finding the search function useful, therefore I have not needed to post anything ... until now.

My question is in relation to this chart.
http://www.visajourn...wchart_v1-2.pdf

I have a lawyer, and I have already completed a form i-864 (myself along with my cosponsor), and I have attached all the correct forms to it. I have also completed the DS-320 forms.

I just received my NOA-1 notice yesterday, so this step is currently a bit of a ways away. My lawyer is out of town, other wise I would ask him, but my main question is what will the NVC process look like for me? Because I have already completed these forms, is the process likely to be shorter with the NVC? Also, is it likely my lawyer as already sent these papers with my application, or will he send it when it reaches the NVC.

Thanks.

Adam

MQ, just make sure while he is in the U.S. he always keeps his Palestinian passport and identification card current, otherwise the Israelis strip him of his Palestinian Authority I.D. number and he will lose what even little rights he has a Palestinian.

Also, whatever you do, tell him not to let the Jordanian police/customs open his envelope from the consulate when he goes to the airport!!!

They tried to do that with my cousin, but he literally snatched the envelope back as they were starting to tear it open.

Otherwise, good luck with everything! I hope my interview will go smoothly, I have heard the people at the Jerusalem consulate can be kind of difficult.

I thought I read somewhere that my wife can email the NVC with her Choice of Agent form.
How is that possible if it needs a signature?

While she was here I prepared one for her and had her sign it. Can I just mail it for her?
If possible I want her to email the form to save time but I just dont want there to be any more delays.

I have a question. What is a police certificate? On the flowchart below under the DS-230 Immigrant Visa Package section #7 is for 2 police certificates. What is that?

Thanks

Yes you can email the information if you would like to. You do not email the actual form, she just emails who she nominates as her agent - or stating she is not nominating an agent.

How is this possible if it requires a signature? Since you are not actually sending the 'form', it doesn't seem to make any difference to them. good.gif

On the other hand, if you are more comfortable with regular mail, why not go ahead and just mail it in when the time comes.

You may want to check out this page for instructions (you will find a lot of information in the VJ wiki pages, which you can access from the tab at the top of this page, also a lot of information can be found by clicking on the Guides tab).

Hi,
I submitted my wife's police certificate along with her DS230. The question is, will that police certificate be forward to the US embassy in Tokyo (where she will be interviewed), or does she need another copy of police certificate at the interview? She spent 8 hours on round-trip bus last time just to get her police certificate, and we will be kicking ourselves if we need another copy...

I've never heard of NVC requesting a police certificate. If you sent it to them, call them and ask if they'll forward it. In the future, don't send things unless they are asked for. If you can't get a firm answer from NVC, then its up to you whether you want to risk a delay in the visa or get another one.

Follow the existing process instead of inventing your own.

Talked to the lawyer on the phone, she said NVC did request the police certificate. But NVC will forward all the stuff to the Embassy so we won't need another copy.

This was an expedite under the criteria of National Interest backed up with Financial Hardship, Humanitarian, a US Army Commander and a kick ####### Senator.

I'm a bit happy at the moment, so I will post the details of the expedite later in a hope that it will help others too.

Right now I just want to hug the Colonel and especially the Senator .... the man whose team made this happen!

.... I also want to thank a certain person on this website who truly pi**ed me off last week as without her I wouldn't have had the fire up my ####### to pull the paperwork together so quickly ... and involve every Tom, ####### and his dog in my case to get it approved.

It has not been that way lately, but it all depends on your case ans when it was sent out from the Service Center. I know that NVC updates their phone messages on Tuesdays, so if they got your case on Wed or Thurs, it may be at NVC but not on the phone message yet. Back in 2005 I was trying to get my husbands visa and he was in the US. Well we did not continue the process and now are trying to finish it off. Well they have his status as trying to adjust in the US so they told me to send a letter stating that we want him to have his interview in Juarez and to proceed with his case. That letter was received by NVC on Friday the 13th via overnight FEd EX. I called this morning and of course the system hasnt been updated and I was told to call back at the end of the week and it should be updated.

Hi my friends here,

I got my ds3032 confirmation email and also my AOS fee bill show as PAID online, but I still don't see they invoice my IV fee bill yet. I haven't mail in my AOS package yet. And my question is will they hold up on invoicing my IV fee bill until they receive my AOS package? Or the AOS package doesn't affect they invoice me my IV Fee bill?

Thank you so much for help and appreciate for everything!!!

Best Wishes
Ling

My husbands interview will be in Juarez Mexico. Do I need to send a PCC for him or are the police certificates good enough?

PCC is Police Clearance Certificate, short form is Police Certificate...

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresMedical ???
Do we need to take some forms to the medical? Will we be mailed some forms to take? Or do we just show up with our appointment letter and money and they will give us the required paperwork once the exam is complete? Sorry I am just clue less about the medical and I am sending in my husbands last packet so I am wanting to know more about it since we are not far away from that.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!
