hey guys... does anybody know if it is enough to have the results of the med tests only in original? I mean long time ago i ve read in some topics here on visajourney.com that it is good to ask doctors to make extra copies of med-exam results... Cause upon entry the USA the officers get this packet and then you have no results anymore... AM i right... or wrong?

THANKS!

1st day experienced of my medical :

went there in the morning since i woke up early for morning prayer and after reading my prayer book i had nothing to do so i decided to go to st. lukes i think there are 20 persons there in line and they said they are for sputum and others are on the second day of their medical. I told the woman there miss i am next to you but i have to ask something to the guard first. So i went there asked and show my passport, appointment letter and K3 case number which i downloaded from my email, then he gave me a number it was # 23 we wait @ 7:30am they start calling numbers.

1. picture taking ( ground floor )
2. counter verification of your documents ( ground floor )
3. payments of medical ( 5th floor )
4. xray
5. 4th floor ( if ur bound to US go to US counter ) a. blood testing, b. urine c. scaling ( weight and height ) d. eye test e. physical exam ( female doctor )
6. 3rd floor be back @ 9am tommorrow ur done with your 1st day ----- they will give u time and day when to come on 2nd day - they said be back to tommorrow @ 9am but i went there @ 8:30am

2nd day experienced of my medical :

guard again ( showing my proof of payment and passport )

1. @ inside guard information they going to verify your identity ( i asked when i am going next and he said to 2nd floor )
so i went there put my receipt into box and wait till the doctor forward my receipts to immunization room ( its not a first come first serve it will depends on when the doctor check my papers i was called @ 9:40am i got 2 shots for MMR and Varicella then the in-charge said i have to go @ ground floor and wait till my name called and it was @ 10:30am and after few questions in-charge again give me medical results and xray film. She said we wil be the one forward your passport to US embassy.

Note : 1. on the 2nd day if guard will say proceed to releasing pray harder that means u have problem but if he said go to second floor for immunization u are safe.
2. bring sweater, and if u going to bring water hide it in your sweater cause they are going to inspect ur bag and i suggest bring ADVIL 500mg take it after your immunizations so ur not going to get sick like veggies.

Goodluck to all of us. And by the way, i would like to say thank you to all VJ members who are kind and give me hint on how to work on my med exam. God Bless us all!!!

Yeah, Same rate for calling both land lines and Cell phones in the US. Cards can be bought anywhere here in the Philippines.. Malls, Cell Phone card booths and/or PLDT Offices. The card is called PLDT BUDGET CARD

Instead of him calling me (from US to Phil.) I call him using PLDT Budget Cards.. Originally, Its 8 pesos per Minute but they have an ongoing promo right now of 3 Pesos per minute. Thats 86.666 Minutes for $5.. so its very cheap.
I hope the promo will run for more months.. lol

What a great idea, where specifically do you buy these prepaid cards? That is a better rate than I have been able to find state side. I'm currently using onesuite at 18cents/min and tel3.com for 20cents/min and quality is often lacking.

Also, do you get that rate calling a cell or home line here in United States?

For those watching costs, I picked up a globe sim chip on my last visit and use chikka.com to text my wife's globe phone for free, and she just texts me back on my globe cell which is roaming. As long as I maintain 100p load it lasts for a month. You can also use chikka.com to send loads to globe and sun users.

Just trying to share info and make our lives ea$ier.

Asia: East and PacificFood, virus, sickness in Philippines?
My fiance got sick after we had our engagement party here. He threw up alot couple of hours after the party that night :( that was horrible but he is fine now.. Anyways, He thinks its because of the Lechon sauce but i think it was because of the chicken salad. We ate the same food but none of us got sick but him so for me, that only means his system is not used with some of the food we gave him.
over all, that was the only time that he got sick during his trip here in the Philippines. I brought him once in one of the food court here (to give him idea of how we eat here and show him some of our food) and thank God he didnt get sick. just the night of our engagement party, he really think it was the sauce (gravy).

Asia: East and PacificParties and the Filipino Culture

Filipinos like to party! And they know how to have fun at parties...good clean fun! First, kareoke is a requirement at any filipino party. Second, filipino parties are LOUD. Lots of talking and laughing. Third, filipino parties involve lots of food. My wife arrived here 2½ months ago. Through networking on theworldoffilipinas.com, she has met many other here in the states and was introduced to someone in our city who got us involved in the local chapter of filapino/americans; couples just like us. That was last week and we've been to two parties already. I can't say about others, but these parties involved no drinking, smoking or drugs. We have a 5 year old son and he goes with us. Children of all ages are there. I'm not very social or outgoing either but these parties are great! Not all husbands go. I suppose they are the quieter type but filipino women are very close to one another and my wife loves to interact with other filipinas. To me, it's whatever makes her happy.

Karaoke is defintly a requirement! Im still in the Philippines and I know I will surely miss partying with my family and friends. So while Im still here, Im trying to spend as much time (partying with family/friends or going out or get togethers) as I can. And I hope I can bring a Magic Sing with me when I go there (U.S)

So my advise is let her be, it's a phase she would eventually have to let go once she embraces her new life with you.

I agree.

Cox cable recently offered a Philippines plan that's $8.95/mo and includes the first 60 minutes. Additional minutes are 13 cents/min

Thought about Vonage. But my cell is my only phone so I don't think that works.

Even if you only have a cell it would still work.....sign up with Vonage then send the phone
adaptor to you SO so she can call you and you can call her any time and it's a local call.
For me this is a God sent. My bill was running over $1000.00 per month before Vonage.

It is trully God Sent! We saved alot and we can talk as much as we want which is great! and the call quality is great too!

My fiance in the states sent me a Vonage Device. He pays $25 monthly for unlimited calling and works great! we can call each other as much as we want, anytime and everytime we want to talk to each other.
PLDT DSL gets disconnected sometimes but its ok. No more expensive phone cards!

we really suggest you send your fiancee's vonage if they have highspeed internet and start talking for as much as you want.. :)

Its been almost 3 weeks now since USE in Manila got our case but we have not heard anything from them. No emails or letter. Shouldnt they supposed to send me a letter telling me our case is already in manila? or should i expect for the packet 4 already? Thanks for future replies :)

Packet 4 will be sent once the Embassy schedules your appointment. Based on your dates (similar to ours), you are looking at Jan the earliest and probably Feb for an interview. Good luck, Ken

Oh I hope January. Thanks for the response. Appreciate it :)

Hi guys! I and a couple of other girls (vj'ers) are going to have our Medical Exam and CFO next month. We are going to attend the seminar first and then the day after that, we will take our medical exam (3 weeks earlier than scheduled).
What do we need to bring with us?
for thos who already done CFO and Medical, which hotel is the best/nearest/not expensive and has dsl connection to stay? I would like to bring my vonage device with me so that i'll still be able to talk to my fiance.

*CFO
Whats the difference bet PRISM and CFO?
where should we go 1st? what are the requirements?
do we still need to bring photos, forms, emails, chats, etc?

*Medical
any tips like taking vitamins and supplements? :D
I have a chest xray that was taken when i had a check up for my cough 6 months ago, should i show it to them?
I have had vaccinations for Hepa B, and cholesterol and sugar counts etc, should i also show these to them?
Requirements to be brought for the medical? how many 2x2 pictures, forms etc? will they need my fiance's documents like affidavit of support, pay stubs and the like?

Thank you very much guys. VJ'ers have been great help for us on this process.
Thank you to whoever will take the time to reply to this post. God Bless and Merry Christmas! :)

Ok, you guys have got me curious. My fiancee doesn't have the internet at her home, just at her work. I have unlimited internet here. So how does it work? Does she have to be online for us to talk? or just me?

She has to have DSL connection at home or wherever u would like the put the Vonage device.. You both have to have vonage for unlimited calling (US and CANADA) and no, you dont have to be online to talk. you just need the Vonage Device, DSL connection and Telephone (cordless or corded) to talk. :)

I dont know if anyone has mentioned this before. It was on my mind and I thought I would tell everyone. I keep seeing people on the forums complaining about high telephone bills.

I dont know if you ever heard of vonage. I had vonage send me a phone I configured it to use with her internet and then sent it to the philippines. I talk to my many many hours a night. Every night. The best part is that I only pay 25 bucks a month for unlimited calling. I tryied useing yahoo messanger to call but it didnt work so well. The thing about vonage is that its hardware based VOIP; so it never goes through your computer. Also you connect a regular phone to it so you dont have to be stuck at your computer. There has been like 2 times in the past two months when her internet was so slow I could hear her very well but other than that it works so so well. Her internet dsl even has bad connection and it still works very well.

Hey I just thought I would mention it. If anyone wants to talk about it feel free to contact me.

Take Care,

Chad and Mides

Hi! I have vonage too. My fiance sent me one and it works so great! We were spending alot on phone cards and we were so happy when we heard about vonage and subscribed asap. We talk as much as we want now and I also get to talk to my other friends in the states. Whats best about it is that i can leave it here in the Philippines and I will be able to talk to my family and call them anytime I want especially if i miss them.
