Hi everyone! My interview is next week and im really starting to get nervous. My fiance just had I-134 notarized. Our question guys is -its just an ink notary, will that be ok? or it should be embossed or something like that?
Thanks alot :)

I'm a notary. You will have a hard time finding a notary here in the states that still uses the "embossing" type of notary stamp. The preference here in the states has gone to all ink stamp notaries because the old style do not show up on photocopies. You should be fine IMHO.

Yep, youre right Dean iWait. My fiance researched and asked the notary about it, the ink is prefered now because the dry seal or embossed doesnt show up on Faxes and Photocopies.. We're good to go :)

About DS157 - Here in Davao, when i paid mine the guy at the bank gave me another form but I asked him if he can just validate my form since I already filled it up and he said "Sure". So that went well. Good luck to all of us whos interviews are coming! God
Bless y'all

Correct, the DS-230 is for the immigrant visa (CR-1,IR-1), not the K1/K3 which are non-immigrant.

Oh #######, no DS-230 required for K1? Where did I get that idea from? :ranting:

My fiance bought Visa/Immigration guide books (1 for me and 1 for him) and on it they said DS 230 will be required but i dont see it on my instruction packet and i dont see anyone mentioned it before here on visajourneyso i thought i dont need it, until Garya mentioned it earlier so I panicked (even though im still 1 week away from my interview..- OH my gosh, 1 WEEK nalng!!!)

by the way, the book wasnt as helpful as Manila thread. We're thinking of selling it on ebay.. hahaha

Yeah, Erichu (Mari) is right. It wasnt that hard and scary as we thought it would be. Just the "waiting of your name" is tiring but having some friends to talk to and help you (tells you youre being called when you didnt hear your name or not paying attention :P ). Im glad I'm 1 step closer to the end of this journey.

Its so nice to meet and spend time with other gurls here who'v been very helpful. To Fel (FelandFrank),Ate Ana (Steve-n-Ana) and Mari (Erichu) :) I had fun girls! Hope to see you soon again :)

and for the rest of you girls waiting for the medical- Chill out, dont worry and hope u meet other girls to, it'll defintly help you :) GOODLUCK!

For the Manila embassy interview, can my fiancee use her passport style photograph she submitted with her K1 petition? She took that photo about 7 months ago. I don't see why she cannot. Any experience anyone in using the photos submitted with the petition? thx.

We will attend the seminar on Jan. 24 and we'll have the medical exam on Jan. 25. :)

Someone who has idea about:
"I have a chest xray that was taken when i had a check up for my cough 6 months ago, should i show it to them?
I have had vaccinations for Hepa B, and done cholesterol and sugar counts etc, should i also show these to them?"

Hi guys! I and a couple of other girls (vj'ers) are going to have our Medical Exam and CFO next month. We are going to attend the seminar first and then the day after that, we will take our medical exam (3 weeks earlier than scheduled).
What do we need to bring with us?
for thos who already done CFO and Medical, which hotel is the best/nearest/not expensive and has dsl connection to stay? I would like to bring my vonage device with me so that i'll still be able to talk to my fiance.

*CFO
Whats the difference bet PRISM and CFO?
where should we go 1st? what are the requirements?
do we still need to bring photos, forms, emails, chats, etc?

*Medical
any tips like taking vitamins and supplements?
I have a chest xray that was taken when i had a check up for my cough 6 months ago, should i show it to them?
I have had vaccinations for Hepa B, and cholesterol and sugar counts etc, should i also show these to them?
Requirements to be brought for the medical? how many 2x2 pictures, forms etc? will they need my fiance's documents like affidavit of support, pay stubs and the like?

Thank you very much guys. VJ'ers have been great help for us on this process.
Thank you to whoever will take the time to reply to this post. God Bless and Merry Christmas!

Robhankins, thanks for info on BCs. Now we know that NSO has a new computerized format. Let's hope the embassy does not put in AR those whose BC are in the old format. It seems that NSO uses a different color every year (or fiscal year). The 1st time I applied for BC and MC, it was blue, the next year, it was green, then yellow, then back to green again. Maybe that's how the consul decides who to put in AR, if it's the wrong color, "toooot, wrong color, AR" :D

Oh no! I guess I have to get the green one. My BC is yellow

And I have also seen some Filipino stars on a tv show talking about this and telling the people not to wear any immitation stuffs (immitated shirt or jeans or shoes) or carrying knockoff bags.

Jeans? They aren't gonna strip-search my girl to see if her Levis are the "real deal" are they? That would be a rude-awakening to this country for sure.

I dont really know how they will check/see or whatever they'll do to make sure its original and what they will do about if its not but i would rather not give them any reason to grill me there.. yikes! that would not be fun..
What if ill just wear baro't saya (Filipino traditional blouse and skirt) with matching bakya (wooden sandal) and native handmade bag??hmmm.. lol Just kidding y'guys :luv:

Hey guys. The CFO lady at the seminar told my gal that she would not be allowed to use her knockoff L. Viton luggage to travel to the US since they are banned by the US govt. Anybody heard of this, and which agency would be implementing the policy. My quick scan of the regs found nothing.

I have heard about this too. All fake/Immitation/knockoff's stuff will not be allowed upon entering the US. I also read somewhere (sorry, i forgot where) that the worst scenario would be deportation or airport to airport ( :o  :help:
And I have also seen some Filipino stars on a tv show talking about this and telling the people not to wear any immitation stuffs (immitated shirt or jeans or shoes) or carrying knockoff bags.
After Ive heard of that, I only bought and will buy originals or Filipino Brands (cheap and not knock offs  ) I dont want my stuff to cause me trouble when i get there... :)

Anybody else get a similiar letter?

We received the fiancée visa petition (I-129F) from the State Department's National Visa Center (NVC) on October 25, 2006. No appointment has been scheduled as yet, but the case is already queued for scheduling of a visa interview appointment. Because of our heavy volume of fiancé(e) visa applications, the waiting time for a visa interview at present is approximately 150 days from receipt of the petition in Manila .

We will inform you of the interview date as soon as it is scheduled. We will mail an appointment packet with information and instructions to apply for a visa about 30 days before the scheduled interview.

A list of immigrant and fiancé(e) visa cases that have been scheduled for an interview is available at our website at http://philippines.u...v/wwwh3023.html. You may check the interview date at this Internet address, where appointments scheduled for the current month and the following month are listed according to case numbers. The list is updated in the middle of each month. You need not wait for the hard copy of the appointment letter and can proceed based on the posted appointment time, downloading the application forms from our website, as needed.

If you would like to inquire further about the status of the visa case, you may contact the Embassy's Visa Call Center at telephone 1-909-101-7878. This number is for subscribers of PLDT and Smart telephone touchtone landlines with national and international distance dialing features (NDD or IDD access). Callers in the USA can contact the Call Center at 1-888-877-9888. The Call Center is open Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (Manila time). There is a fee assessed to callers by the Call Center for its services.

Hi everyone! Thanks for the welcome PW :)

Ive read somewhere here that the best time to call USE Manila is 7:30 -8:00 am? Is that why I couldnt get a hold of anyone when I was calling them around 2-5 pm? why is that?
I also called the call centers (Sobrang mahal!) 3 times already to check if our case has arrived Manila yet since it was sent last October 12 and the ladies said its not yet there :crying:
and I just called department of state awhile ago (thanks for the numbers Uling! ) and the visa specialist told me our case is already in the system (USE in Manila) but the hardcopy is not yet in there :(.
Whats taking our case to get to USE Manila so long??? :(

and by the way, what else should I wait for (aside from us waiting for the case to reach the USE Manila)??
Will they send a letter telling us that they already have our case or I will be waiting for the instruction packet na? Whats next for us guys? Thanks for future helps ;)

Hello everybody, i had my interview last April 4, and i got the 221 paper. The consul did tell me to submit additional documents from my fiance his two (2) divorce papers from his ex's, i only had the latest one. He got married 3 times though. But they let me pay the visa delivery. If i can submit the documents they needed, will it guarantee that i can have my visa soon? helpsmilie.gif

Anyone here that encountered problem like this? Just want to know the outcome...
