As a general rule, there are no restrictions on bringing domestic cats into the U.S. There are no vaccination requirements for cats, although cats arriving in Hawaii or Guam are subject to that state's/territory's quarantine requirements. While a rabies certificate is not required for entry into the U.S., domestic cats must be free of evidence of disease communicable to humans when examined by an inspector at the port of entry. If the animal is not in apparent good health, further examination by a licensed veterinarian may be required at the owner's expense. If you are bringing your cat to the U.S. on an airplane, you should check with the airline about their requirements for transporting animals. Many airlines require a certificate of health from a veterinarian.

she had an appointment for her shots next wee (never got them because shes never been outside) and that was the only thing i was waiting to have done before I leave, but it looks like i can get her shots once we get to texas.

CanadaAnother Drivers License Rant
So basically Maryland is the worst state ever...

Had an issue with my SSN but thats a whole nother story..

So after going to the MVA like 15 times trying to prove residency in Maryland I finally got it transfer my license....

BUT....

In canada I had a commercial license and the lady said she would only issue me a reualr license.. So I just lost a license that cost me almost $1300..

I mean i can take the rad test and pass no problem but then I have to get a medical, re do my air brakes which i already had, and take a $100 hazmat course...

Maryland I give you two thumbs down.

edit for spelling...

CanadaTravel Waiver Question
The federal law concerning inadmissibility of aliens into the U.S. is codified at:
8 United States Code § 1182- Inadmissible aliens

Here is the pertinent part of the code:

Sec. 1182. - Inadmissible aliens
(a) Classes of aliens ineligible for visas or admission
Except as otherwise provided in this chapter, aliens who are
inadmissible under the following paragraphs are ineligible to receive
visas and ineligible to be admitted to the United States:
....
2) Criminal and related grounds
(A) Conviction of certain crimes
(i) In general
Except as provided in clause (ii), any alien convicted of, or who
admits having committed, or who admits committing acts which
constitute the essential elements of -
(I)
a crime involving moral turpitude (other than a purely political
offense) or an attempt or conspiracy to commit such a crime, or
(II)
a violation of (or a conspiracy or attempt to violate) any law or
regulation of a State, the United States, or a foreign country
relating to a controlled substance (as defined in section 802 of title
21), is inadmissible."
source:
8 United States Code § 1182- Inadmissible aliens

Now, is a basic DWI/DUI a "crime involving moral turpitude"?

"The BIA [Board of Immigration Appeals] has unequivocally determined,
however, that simple DUI convictions, even if repeated, are not crimes
of moral turpitude. In re Torres-Varela, 23 I. & N. Dec. 78, Int. Dec.
3449 (B.I.A. 2001) (en banc)."
source:
SALMERON v. INS (2003), UNITED STATES COURT OF APPEALS, FOR THE NINTH CIRCUIT

Also see: GROUNDS OF DEPORTABILITY AND INADMISSIBILITY RELATED TO CRIMES:

"5. Driving Under the Influence Offenses
A conviction for driving under the influence (DUI) is not
a crime involving moral turpitude. Matter of Lopez-Meza, 22 I&N Dec.
1188 (BIA 1999). Since a second DUI offense does not change the
character of the offense, it does not involve turpitude. Matter of
Torres-Varela, 23 I&N Dec. 78 (BIA 2001). Nevertheless, the BIA has
held that a noncitizen conviction for driving under the influence
involved moral turpitude when an element of the offense was that the
defendant knew or should have known that the authorities had revoked
his license. Matter of Lopez-Meza, 22 I&N Dec. 1188 (BIA 1999)."

CanadaI got my drivers license today!!:)
If you have your license already you should be able to transfer it right over with a valid I-94.. They treat canadian licenses as out of state... My problem was I had a canadain class 3 with air brakes and they wouldnt give me a cdl.. just a regular license.

CanadaWhen To Get Married?
here in Maryland you can just transfer your drivers over... as long s your i-94 is still valid..

ALSO...

in our county you have to have a SSN to get a marriage license. So check into that right away.

I thin kMonday is our day at the court house.. we wanted to go a couple days ago but our son came 4 days early..

Are you talking about a police clearance, Earmuffs? I didn't think you needed that for AOS... unsure.gif

no I meant court papers because I have a criminal record.. and i need the final disposition (sp).

So i hope that since my K1 was approved with my record that the AOS will be..

now if my sponsor would get in gear thats a whold nother story..

I'm sorry, when you filed for the K1 was the matter finished or ongoing? I thought that the K1 only asked for info on domestic violence, alcohol or controlled substance and other violent crimes. You will need the court record for the I-485 if you have been convicted or charged with a crime of moral turpitude or charged with and/or convicted of any crime. Sounds like you'll need it, but I think you already know that.

naw they are form 10 years ago and are long finished... I have all my court papers on the way, same ones I submitted with my K1. I was just saying and hoping that if you get approved for the K1 with a record that you would get approved for AOS.
