I don't want to think about them processing Dec. I want to try to start working back. So can get an Idea of how many cases they process in a day. Because from the data in the group of spread sheets. It seems the VSC accepts around 100-120 I-129f cases a day. If they are working on cases submitted around 100 days ago (excluding the lucky aholes in dec. ), its important to know about how many they can process in a day. Lets say they can process a 100 cases a day. (doubtful). Then lets look at where they seem to have peaked at, OCT26 which is about 80% complete. Now starting with Oct27 which I rechecked today and no changes were made and there is still about a 100 cases to process. If the VSC can process 100 cases a day and each day averages about a 100 cases. It will be another 18 days before they reach my day Nov13. However if they are processing 10, 20, 50 cases a day. I feel very sad.

( :( I forgot they don't work weekends, that makes it even longer)

You can look at their trend graph on their website.
http://dashboard.usc...amp;charttype=1
During AUG, SEPT, and OCT last year they averaged approving about 240 cases a day. They completed 4892 cases in AUG, 5202 cases in SEPT, and 4657 cases in OCT. In NOV their approvals dropped down to 2155 cases. Which is about 105 cases a day. On Feb 15 they will post their DEC statistics. Over the entire year last year they averaged approving between 100-120 cases a day.

I was contacted by Jim Webb's office today. His office is going to contact VSC and ask questions. He is going to tell the VSC to keep him informed of all progress on the case, and I was given a POC at his office if I have any questions. We will see how this works.

It seems that sometimes USCIS is a day slow in reporting stuff on their website. Probably because of us. Oh well, here are the stats for 11/10...

2 Approvals from yesterday showed up today.
No activity today. Maybe I'm already approved and don't know it. 477 and 522 were approved yesterday. I am 442, so I'm close.

For 11/10, they denied a case today that was issued an RFE.

I started to look at 10/22, and I got locked out from searching. Apparently they have begun to limit the number of searches an IP address can do in a day.

I looked at 40 cases in order with 12/7/09 NOA1 date........2 of those got approved end of january, and 3 cases got a PRE date with 2/3/2010 !!!

I looked at all of 7 Dec yesterday. There is a lot of I129F petitions that day. 160+. Only 10 or less had been touched. there was not much activity in the first 40 that I remember. While looking at trends it seems that RFEs come out first, with a small number of approvals. Then within the next week is when the approvals start to appear. That is what happened on 12/15. It seems to be happening on 11/10. So I hope they go through a box to get rid of the obvious RFEs and then go through the ones in the box that they think are worthy of approvals.

I donno if it's a good idea to show NVC our research. cos i'm not sure that we are supposed to do those researches ><

maybe better send the VJ monthly timeline, which shows December applications being approved, while no November ones, and explain that this is only a sample.

If u wanna insist on giving them more proof, maybe better to give them some "dates" to look into. they have all the information.

I'm just afraid that what we are doing wouldn't really be "approved" by VSC.

My opinion is that the VSC should know that there are people like us watching them. If they don't like it, they can do a better job so we don't want to spend our time doing this. Ultimately , the information we are using are a part of the public domain. If the VSC cared about what we are doing, then at a minimum they would have required us to type in the last name of the petitioner along with the Receipt Numer.

I've been thinking about why things have so slow for some of us. I think it has to do with the use of contractors to adjudicate the petitions. The petitions probably have to get shipped to the contractor facility. By accident they picked up the wrong stack of boxes. The Federal employee adjudicators are working their cases oblivious to what the contractors are working on. The contractors think that they have the correct boxes to work on. So everyone is just going along and unable to realize that there was an error because the Gov employees are still in Oct and the contractors have not asked for additional case yet.

So answer me this. Why does December 15 have way more approvals than say Nov 3 or Nov 4th or Nov 11th.

No one knows. Now here is Dec 21...

8 RFE's
6 Approvals

So who wants to help organize a protest? Or better yet, bombard VSC with FOIA requests?

Not much news, but one of the files from nov. 6 is my portfolio (the ones I'm "babysitting" :) ) was touched today. At last check, still in initial review, though. So yours can't be far away!

I have one in my portfolio that I have been watching. Oct 27 NOA1 date. Touched on 12/31. Still in Initial review. Maybe the person was in the middle of this petition, and got a paper cut so now they are on workers comp and this is the person who was responsible for November.

Stunning find, angry email in the pipeline.

Regards,

Arch

The email does nothing. I already did it, and they will only respond if you have called VSC and did not respond appropriately. You have to provide them with a name and an A Number.

Here is the email I received...
Good morning,

Thank you for contacting the Vermont Service Center National Customer Service Center (NCSC) Follow Up e-mail account. As indicated in the automated reply you should have already received, the purpose of this account is to assist petitioners, applicants or their authorized representatives who have contacted the NCSC number (1-800-375-5283) with an inquiry but feel their inquiry was not adequately addressed within 30 days or who feel that the response received from the National Customer Service Center (NCSC) was not sufficient. This auto reply message will serve as a record of our receiving your inquiry. The VSC NCSC Follow Up e-mail account will try to be responsive to all requests. However, please note that you will not receive a response to your inquiry if you did not first try to resolve your issue by contacting the NCSC, or if you are not the petitioner, applicant or a designated representative of the case you are inquiring about.

If you are asking for a status update you must contact the NCSC. We will not respond to your status update inquiry.

Nov 19 is the 34th day of Fiscal Year 10. That is where the 10-034 comes from. The 50001 is the first application of the day. Not sure as to the reason why it begins with a 5.

Well after seeing the 15 Dec stats and then the Nov stats I decided to contact Senator Jim Webbs office today. They asked for me to fax them information and they will look into it and provide me with a response as soon as they get some info. We will see what happens. Let's go Jim Webb's office! Hopefully the person that works my case for Jim Webb is a very angry person who likes to yell a lot and gives VSC hell.

Quick question. While we are pulling our hair out waiting, how many of us are financially ready for the next round of steps?
Such as medicals, AOS fees, plane tickets, Embassy fees, etc...

I am but barely. A few more months of 400 dollar phone bills and I'm in trouble.

I think I will have enough. I am not sure of all of the costs. Right now I have about $12k budgeted for everything, including the wedding. My fiancee says she will pay for the medical, embassy fee, and the plane ticket for her. We should be OK.

Yeah skype and vonage would be great if, they included calls 2 mobiles in there unlimited plans.
Skype is about .24 usd per min 2 mobile, Vonage .13 plus 24.99 a month sub., i use my plugNtalk from smart about .14 no monthly fee, and my att monthly account around .20 a min. Some calling cards are cheaper, but pain in #### 2 use, and difficult to use as prove of on going relationship.

With Skype and Vonage it depends on the country. I can call to cell phones in Thailand without additional charges. Normally though i will use MSN because either she is at work or i am at work. On the weekends we will both be home and MSN has the better video quality.

Lol...we are not the enemy.

We waited almost 4 months for our NOA2...and I would like to share some of the strategies that worked for us.

For months we watched the projected timelines slip away...and watched people get approved with filing dates prior to ours.

We became focused on what was going on with our petition, and everday we resented having to wait what seemd like an unfair amount of time.

We had two weeks together during Christmas..and we never dreamed back in Sept. that we would not have an NOA2 by Dec. The airport goodbye was very, very tough...because we had no idea what was going on with our petition or when we would see each other next.

We had completely twisted our own minds into knots of hopes and expectations based on the lightning quick approvals from Sept and October....but it was a situation we created for oursleves...hope junkies just getting a daily fix, with a heavy withdrawal pain. In reality if the USCIS website didn't exsist..or VJ..or anything that altered out expectations we would have just be finding ways to get by until 5 months rolled around..the offical processing time..and been happy to get it at five months.

We created our own misery, not USCIS, hell they have 5 months...and we were so angry because we didn't get ours in 32 days..lol

It made us sick...literally, and upset and a feeling of despair was common, mostly due to the complete lack of control we had over the situation.

Eventually we hit bottom...no NOA2 , no touch...nothing...just...nothing...and we made a choice to take a big break from VJ, and a big break from checking USCIS case status.

We choose instead to focus on those aspects of our lives which were in our control, making healthier food choices, building our immune systems with proper rest and nutrition...practicing accepting the situation....

It worked for us!.

The deep and serious fact of the matter is that NOA2 approval dates are completely out of our control...completely.

The lesson for us is to surrender to this reality and choose to take action where we had control, and could improve the quality of our life while waiting in whatever ways we could.

It really and truly sucked and was a lot of suffering , but we finally got approval, just as you will.

We realized that the waiting gave us an opportunity to grow together through a challenging time, and we must bring the type of support and skills to our marriage that we brought to our NOA2 waiting period.

After all that waiting...we got RFE...my divorce certitifcate did not say Absolute Decree....and we really had a bit of a big ole' miserable time waiting to see what the RFE was for and waiting for it to turn around...but we practiced acceptence , prayer, and staying positive... and got through it.

Seems like they are really screwing with Nov. petitions at VSC. It seems certain they have re-assigned staff who wrere assigned to work on 129f back in September. That sucks. You can be grateful that cal. and nebraska will be handling all the TPS visa!!

Sorry to hear you folks are getting the administrative shaft ...but there is great prayer that says:

"God Grant me the serenity to accept the things We cannot change ( VSC processing times) the courage to change the things We can ( our attitude and actions that will help us suffer less while waiting) and the wisdom to know he difference.

God bless and ..yes...stay positive...and yes...be strong..and yes...pray ( if so inclined) and avoid a 'victim' mentality that leads to futility, resentment, anger, fear, and depression!

Do as you will....but there are ways to lessen the misery :-). ..and yes..of course..it is always the people who have gotten NOA2 giving advice!

The problem with us November filers isn't that it is taking 3-5 months to have our petitions "touched". Our problem is that according to Igor's list approximately 6% of December has been approved and there has been 1% approved in November. There has been a 12/21 petition approved already. 29 weekdays. 24 workdays. I would be perfectly happy waiting 5 months, if those people who filed almost 2 months after me were not being approved. All us November filers really want is to told by USCIS of what is going on with the November petitions. Why have they skipped us and started to work on mid-to-late Dec?
USCIS likes to say that everyone is different. Some people have an easier situation, blah, blah, blah, blah... That is BS. I am a Federal Employee who has been investigated by OPM and adjudicated by NCIS and re-adjudicated by NCIS because I needed approval to continue seeing my fiancee. I have never been married. I have no kids. My fiancee has never been married and has no kids. Her sister has spent the last 4-5 years living in America. I have never been arrested, neither has my fiancee. She has a very good job as an accountant at a global company. I am 1 year older than her. We both have very unique names. neither of our names will cause a hit in the background checks.
Here is another note. USCIS will blame the FBI for taking too long on their background check. I found this today, "...by the end of June 2009, the FBI will complete 98 percent of USCIS name check requests within 30 days and process the remaining two percent within three months." So that means that at least 90% of November filers have had their background checks completed prior to the latest Dec approval submitted their petition.

A glimmer of hope perhaps! so..maybe we should start monitoring the 21st of October..anyone have any good numbers for that day to look at?

I had done a quick look at Oct 22. Approximately 80% had been touched and 50% have been approved. Most of the Oct 22 activity was last week. Jan 14-20. JL seems to be seeing a good amount of activity on Oct 26. Out of the 5 people on Igor's list with an NOA1 on 10/27, 3 have been approved. Two of them in the past week. I think focusing on 10/26-10/30 will be more productive as that is what I anticipate will be worked on next week. Then 11/2-11/6 the following week and then 11/9-11/13 the week after that.

I want to get involved in the data collection as well. I just don't know what date to begin with. Nov 10 seems so far away, idk if it will be helpful. Oct 30 seems like a good date. The last workday before Nov.

I do have some good news, but also bad news. Out of the original cases that I was watching there was an approval today. The bad news is they are still working on Oct 22.

There are now 2 cases that I have been watching that have had actions today. Oct 19 had an approval and Oct 20 had a denial. Things are starting to move along now.

I think the reason things seem to have slowed is because of the sheer number of cases to process before us.

But what is the reason for there to be approvals for December filers? That is the thing that bothers me. If anyone should have been processed that quickly, it should have been me.

I just called DOS again (I had a hunch) and found out that our Packet 3 was sent out today (yay!) but our Interview date was set for October 15th. Simo is really depressed about this! I already called him. He just feels like his whole life is on hold and we both miss each other so much. And for young men from the MENA region, AP after the interview can be really time consuming, 2 weeks min, so he is just upset about the thought of not making it here till November. I had thought the interview date would be more around 4 weeks, looking at other people's recent interview dates in Casa.

Now I am going to try to be really nice to the people at the consulate to try to get our interview date moved up, I don't know if that is possible at all in Casablanca, but I have to try right?

Any advice?

Thanks!

Simo and I are kind of in the same situation...we've been dating for 4 years, and lived together in Morocco for almost two years, but I had to come back to start my PhD program, but had I know that this process would really take this long, I would have started so much sooner! sad.gif

I have not heard nearly as good reviews of the Casablanca consulate (in fact, it consistently gets bad reviews) so I don't know if they will be accommodating at all, but I asked...which is really all I can do! With Ramadan actually, no one wants to leave during the whole month, so I feel like we might be a little lucky, if they have only a few visa requests...but I can't be sure.

Thanks for your help though! I will keep you informed!

Question for Kim:

Hi! I just contacted the DOS in DC, and the lady told me that our packet got to the Casablanca consulate on August 12 (according to the NVC it was just sent out on the 12th, arrived the 18th) and that no Packet 3 has been sent out yet.

Boo!!

I feel like all this shuffling papers has taken so long! We are waiting for that Packet 3, because I think mentally everything will feel so much more real once Simo actually has an interview date.

So, we don't need anything special to have the Packet 3 sent out early at all -- I just want it sent out now, especially because Ramadan is starting September 4th, and the pace of life slows down soooo much then, so I am worried! So, I am emailing the Consulate now but I wanted to know if there is anything in particular I should say to get them to be nice to me and speed up this interview process (according to others from Morocco, the time between Packet 3 arriving and Interview date can be very short). What do you say to get them to expedite the interview date? (We don't really have a reason other than our impatience)

Thanks!
Elizabeth

Hi

Can someone explain what it means to "contact DOS" and how I do that?
Thanks!

Hi all!

After being held for a few (depressing) weeks at the NVC, I called and found out that our case had finally been sent to Morocco and according to DHL, it made it on Monday! We are so excited.

So, now we are working on getting everything ready for the interview, and I just read above that I was not supposed to have sent the original NOA2 to Simo (I thought he had to have the original hard copy) so I had it sent by registered mail to Morocco, but it hasn't arrived yet (it's been 3 weeks) -- he is going to check on it now, but I know this is a problem. I am wondering if I can contact the USCIS and ask for a second version of the hard copy. Luckily, we had it scanned in before we sent it, so that Simo can just print it out and have it at the interview....

Do you think that would be possible to get a second copy sent to us? Also, Kim I read that you are doing something to expedite the process at the embassy in NZ, what are you doing and how do you do that? I don't think we will need to do that, since Simo can't come until Ramadan ends anyways, but I would like to know what the options are.

Thanks for any help on these questions! And good luck for all of you waiting out there!

Hi Everyone!

I haven't been active on this forum at all, but I have been obsessively checking my USCIS account and updates to the forum. And I've been excited to hear about your touches...well...exciting news!

I had to go on a trip to rural Oman for the past 3 days and didn't have access to email, but when I returned...and email stating our case was approved was waiting in my Inbox!!

We are listed as "Simo and Lizzie" on Igor's list, our NOA1 was 4/21 and the last touch that I had heard of was on 5/21, but we were approved on Monday 7/21, with no touches last week!!

Good luck to all of you who are waiting!

<3 Lizzie

Touched 2x!

We filed in mid-April....received, processed all around 4/20...we were just touched on 05/20 and then again on 05/21...I'm hoping they are moving boxes so we are getting to the top of the pile!!

Any other recent touches??

We sent ours in on 4/14...and it arrived 4/15....and we just found out that the check was cashed today! Yay! But we are still waiting on the NOA1 in the mail...

I am curious if any of you April Vermont filers have gotten an NOA1 yet. Also, I have seen some people list check cashed on their timelines, but I don't know how to do that...

Thanks!!
Lizzie

Vermont received my fiance petition today, April Fool's Day. Which is appropriate because I am a fool in love. yes.gif

I just hope that the speedy Vermont processing times continue for us Vermont filers. I have really enjoyed reading the Vermont filers threads for Jan., Feb., and March. I just love those recent timelines where the filers have already received NOA2's.

And I love the ongoing Juarez, Mexico thread. Especially the long post by Ronin last year with a great commentary and about a dozen photo's. I feel like I have already been there and done it.

Anyway, I look forward to sharing the Visa Journey with this great web forum. Now, I just need to research how to set up an official timeline. wink.gif

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionPacket 3

Your fiamcee can file a change of address notification form (I believe it is the AR-11). This form can be used for either the USC petitioner or the beneficiary.

I just have a couple concerns about doing a Change of Address. I admit I should read up more on what exactly a Change of Address truly means. One of my assumptions is that they use the address during the background check. So my concern is that doing a Change of Address will cause a delay in the background checks longer than 3 days. My other concern is that her official address has not changed. My concern is that because her name is on a title of a house and all of her official documents give the address of her house, that it will cause issues at the embassy because there was a Change of Address that says she lives somewhere else.
