This is getting very irritating. On VJ there have been 7 November approvals in California, 3 December approvals in Vermont, and only 1 November approval in Vermont. If Haiti was the reason for the slowdown, CSC would have been equally impacted. If they are working other petitions, OK. Just don't let that one person start working Dec while no one else is working Nov. Seeing how I work in DC, I may try to visit one of my Senators tomorrow during lunch or email the Director of VSC himself. I think I will send him an email at the end of the week if there is no progress. Or maybe I should just resubmit it. It seems like that will be faster.

Thank you... but my apologies for the ignorance... what list are you referring to when you say you are tracking case or receipt numbers... What resources do we have to see the progress on those cases? (aside from the estimated timeline provided by the VJ website and the berkeley data).

I used USCIS's website to create my own list based on the first I-129F received each day from Oct 19-Nov10. I have it in Excel, and is a very small sample. Only 17 cases. I added every 4th one to my USCIS portfolio, so I can log into my account and track when they have been touched. looking just

Oooh and I've found some figures for you all...

VSC I-129F PROCESSING FIGURES FOR NOV 2009:

Pending: 7,323
Receipts: 1,835
Completions: 2,155

My point being - they are clearly working on them just maybe not on VJ cases?? Here's hoping....

If you look at the trends, in Nov 2009 they had their fewest I-129F completions in a month since Dec 2008. Half as much as they had in the previous 3 months.
If you look at the national trend for all documents, they had their fewest completions since Nov 2008. It's like half the workforce disappears in Nov. Slowly recovers in Dec, and then begins to fully recover in January.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNovember 2009 filers

Excuse me, how did you look up cases on USCIS? I'm not familiar with this option. Thankyou.

It's a manual process. :D
Your receipt number is not a random number. Here is how to understand it...
The first 3 letters is the location it was received (EAC is Vermont)
The first 2 numbers is the Fiscal Year the document was received. (Oct 1 2009 was the beginning of 10)
The next 3 numbers is the working day within the FY that the document was received on. (Oct 1, 2009 is 001, Nov 10 is 028, Nov 23 is 036)
The last five numbers is the order that the document was received on that day. (50001 is the first document received)

So...
EAC1000150001 is the first document received at VSC in FY10.
EAC1000250001 is the first document received at VSC on the second working day.
EAC1003650001 is the first document received at VSC on Nov 23, 2009

Then to find the first I-129F of the day, you start at 50001 and work your way up until you find an I-129F. You can save that case and track it. It can be a tedious process. That is why I only looked at the first one received each day. I am tracking the first one received on 10/19, 10/23, 10/29, 11/4, and mine(11/10). Not one of them has been touched since about 4 days after their receipt.

NOA1 on nov 19th......VJ showing 15th nov being adjucated......soon.......very soon! (I hope!)

Damn people taking a 2 week holiday lol!

Arch

I looked up cases on USCIS and looked for the first I-129F received each day at VSC from Oct 19 until Nov 10 (17 work days). From that small sample, only 6% received an NOA2. The other 94% have yet to be touched. I think Oct 15-25 is the average with a few anomalies pushing the date on VJ to Nov 15.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresMedical Examination
Me and my fiancee are somewhere between the NOA1 and NOA2 for a K1 visa. I am trying to make sure we know everything we need to do so we are prepared for everything once we get the NOA2. One of the things that has me concerned is the medical examination. She is current with all of the vaccines, but she does not have the proof that she received them. What happens during the medical exam if she cannot obtain proof of the vaccinations? I understand that she does not need them until we apply for AOS as she will enter on a K1, but I don't know what her requirement will be. Will she need to get the vaccines again?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresToo much evidence?

Hey guys,

I'm sure this has been discussed a million times before. I'm currently assembly my packet and my fiancee and I have thousands of emails and letters, with no doubt id like to submit most of them, but i don't want to exaggerate, although my fiancee is from Cuba, a high fraud country. About how much secondary evidence do you guys think I should include?

Thank you in advance

What I did was make sure I included conversations from key dates (birthdays, Christmas, Valentines Day, etc). I had the stack of all conversations printed and then I decided to do every 10th page. I also made sure I included conversations I had with her family. I ended up with about 500 pages total. I think that's a good formula, but I am still waiting for the NOA2. If you submit a lot of evidence, just make sure the important information is easy to find. I created separate appendixes, and numbered each page accordingly. When I was writing the "Describe the circumstance under which you met..." I referenced the important pages.

I do not plan on ordering tax transcripts. The packet 3 says "a copy of the petitioner's tax return (1040) for the most recent tax year. I hope I am not setting myself up for failure.

Here is my suggestion to you:
Never do just the minimum. The minimum is for those that do everything perfect. You have to appear as though you have nothing to hide, that you are showing them everything. When you do the minimum it can appear as if you are hiding something, so they will dig deeper.

When I was putting together the evidence, I approached it as I was putting together a novel. I arranged the evidence in a way that told a story. I broke it up into chapters. Each chapter had a cover page and a quick summary. This is your only chance and opportunity to lead them down the path you want them to go. Tell them what your story is, and don't allow them to tell you your story. Whenever you don't provide something you are allowing them to tell you your story. Their story for you will be the worst case scenario.

Hey Thailand fiance(e)s and farangs. Did anybody have any trouble at the Embassy with the I-134?I want to know if anyone had trouble for not submitting a Bank Letter. I do not think it is important but I am just wondering.

I have the I-134 form
Letter from Employer
Pay stubs, 6 months
3 years Tax Returns with W-2's and 1099's
Bank statements, 6 months

Thanks to all

I did not have a letter from my bank or from my employer. I had all of my bank statements from the past year, tax return transcripts for 2007 and 2008, a copy of my tax returns for 2009, pay stubs for the past 3 months, and personnel actions forms for the past year. There were no issues.

I was hoping some one could help me. My fiancee and I are working on packet 3 to send to the embassy in Bangkok. The link for the checklist that was sent to her in the mail provides an English only checklist (Rev. May-2009) which has conflicting information with the checklist that is posted on the embassy page in the packet 3 area. The checklist that is provided by the link they sent, says that we need to send all of the forms (I-134, DS 156, 156K, 157 and 230) along with the DS-2001. Basically everything.

The other checklist and the web page says to only send the signed checklist, DS-230, photocopy of the passport and two photos to have the interview scheduled. It goes on to say bring everything else to the interview.

I was just there visiting her and we were both scratching our heads at this. Sending all of the forms is not a problem, I just don't want to send everything when we don't have to, or worse yet, not follow the process correctly. If anyone has any ionformation they can share I would really appreciate it. Thanks for the help.

My fiancee just had her interview at the end of March. We followed the checklist that was on the Embassy website.
http://bangkok.usemb...ckage_may09.pdf
She had her interview scheduled 3 days after sending Packet 3 to the embassy and had no issues at the interview. So if you follow the directions on the checklist that is on the Embassy website, you will have no issues. Don't know what happens if you don't.
Also, I think all the directions are consistent in that all forms must be submitted. The only question I had was whether or not original documents needed to be mailed back with Packet 3. That is what seems to be inconsistent. We sent the original forms that we filled out.

I always fly ANA to go to BKK. I am able to select the emergency exit row in the bulkhead for no additional charge. It makes for a comfortable flight to/from Tokyo. They have an extensive movie selection and video games. The movie selection is about 30 American movies to choose from and they are good movies. They started showing Avatar already. The flight attendants are very helpful and nice. The food is tasty. Plus it only costs about $1200-1400 from the East coast in June. They are also a Star Alliance member.

On an entirely different subject, for anyone that has recently gone through Bangkok's US Embassy for I-129F and K-1. When the NVC has forwarded the petition to Bangkok:

1) how does Bangkok contact the alien fiance(e), email, telephone, snail mail ?
NVC asked me for her email address.

2) I believe the US Embassy has recently received our package based on information I used from the NVC forum to track packages with DHL. How long after NVC ships and Embassy receives, before the Embassy makes contact with alien fiance(e) by whatever method ???

Thanks

Here is my recent experience. The day that Jum had her interview was the day she received Packet 3 in the mail.
I tracked the shipment using DHL, and I waited about 3 days after the Embassy received the package from NVC before I sent an email to the Embassy. The Embassy responded within 2 business days via email that they had already sent out Packet 3 (Packet 3 was mailed the day after they received the package from NVC) and I should download Packet 3 from the website, complete the checklist, and return it. We had already completed the checklist and so Jum mailed the package that day. The next day Jum received an email from the Embassy that her interview was to be the following Monday. Jum was told to arrive at 7am, and she was out of the Embassy by 9am and she picked up her visa on the Wednesday.

To anyone. This is what is posted on the Bangkok Embassy link "rsn" posted:

=== Start from Embassy page =====
Mumps
Measles
Rubella

Those combined 3 will just get one MMR Vaccine shot.then one month later will need one more. then the 3red and last will be 6 months after the 1st shot.

Tetanus and Diptheria toxide
You will get TD vaccine shot.

===== End from Embassy page =====

I know she has lost or never had any papers.

1) So she is planning to get the MMR. Did anyone here or their fiance(e) need the MMR and does it require six months for three shots?

2) Do they really require the TD ?

Again, thanks to all.

I don't know of any 3 dose MMR vaccine.
Here is from the CDC guidelines...
Two doses of MMR vaccine separated by at least 1 month (i.e., a minimum of 28 days) and administered on or after the first birthday are recommended for all children and for certain high-risk groups of adolescents and adults. The recommended 1 month interval between successive doses of MMR or other measles-containing vaccine is based on the principle that live virus vaccines not administered at the same time should be separated by at least 1 month

Here is from the Department of Health FAQs...
Is there any recommendation to give a third dose of MMR?
No. If an individual did not respond to the first two doses, they will not respond to a third.

What Jum received was 2 doses of MMR separated by 1 month and 1 Td shot.

I have over 300 photos taken by relatives and friends from several cameras of the Formal Engagement Ceremony but I decided not to use any of those. Audy RENTED a classic white American Style wedding dress for the Engagement ceremony. I am worried about showing those three hundred photos at the interview as I have already asked here on VJ about that raising a red flag that we got married, which we didn't.

Audy is really upset that I do not want her to use the photos. We had a SMALL argument over this. :crying:

I included pictures from my engagement ceremony, and it did not cause any problems. However, it was a very informal formal engagement ceremony.

I'm not sure who is working there now, but when my wife interviewed they wanted pictures. They didn't care about phone bills. See my interview experience here:

When Jum went for her interview on Monday, she said they were only interested in the pictures. During her interview, the interviewer didn't even look at anything else but the pictures. However, we did have about 2000 or more pages of evidence with her (phone bills, MSN, mail, etc)

Hey guys I need some help on this one. It is not visa related but I think you all might be able to help me. I want to get gifts for my in laws when I go to Thailand in May. I as my fience about it and she said yes it is a good idea, that I should get something for her mom and dad and her 2 aunts (she is very close with her aunts).

First I was thinking about a nice bottle of jonnie walker for her dad but she said no. When I ask her what to get them she says I dont know and is not very helpful. her family is rice farmers and live a very simple life. for her dad I was thinking about a nice pocket knife, maybe engraved with our wedding date on it. as for the women I dont know do any of you have any ideas? please help?

You can never go wrong with buying gold once you get to Thailand. Just don't buy that cheap 14k #######.
I know the first time I met ??? and ??? I bought them both gold necklaces, but idk if this will be your first time meeting your in-laws. Next time I go, I will bring mine one of those digital picture frames. I will load it with pictures of the times I spent with them and my fiancee along with pictures of me and my family.
My suggestion to you would be to bring something unique from here, if you have already met them. Maybe you could buy your Aunts a nice hat from where you live to help protect against the sun. Maybe you could bring some coffee from here.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresNVC Scheduling Interview Date for April 2009
QUOTE (MsMariah @ Mar 10 2009, 10:31 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I called NVC before I left for visit with my husband on Feb 18th and they said I didn't get a date, so I just waited to call when I got home yesterday and the nvc guy said oh we sent you the mail on March 3rd that your case was scheduled as of Feb 27th (so much for them only scheduling on 2nd week of month). So they emailed the appointment letter to both husband and I on March 3rd. His interview is on April 22nd at 8 am. He's calling for appt for his medical exam tomorrow. The appt letter gave a link to a new improved dov.state page which lists pdf files for each consulate with info about the how to get the medical exam.

Congrats and good luck to all of us.

Congratulations to you and all and good luck.

I don't know if it's just w/ me, but it seems like NVC's interview setup process can be anyday of the month (contrary to "second week of the month"). You can see from my timeline that NVC setup the interview at the end of Feb. Also, if NVC has the email address, it seems like they send everything to you via email. I got my interview letter also in email. I guess that's good cuz it's faster and can be checked from anywhere. Just my experience.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsAnyone getting NOA2 from VSC????

It's tough right now, I'm into 5 mos and 2 weeks, and the January folks have waited way longer than that. Try not to fret (to use a term from my southern upbringing Posted Image). It's so difficult right now, but I'd mentally prepare for 6 months and if you get it earlier, than it will come as a nice surprise. No one has any answers or control as to how fast VSC processes. There is no magic wand or path which will make yours go any faster. CSC is processing fast right now and that's just the way it is. I try not to even read the threads that say NOA2!!!!! because I can bet with about 99% accuracy that they come from CSC which depresses me. Try, if possible to focus on getting your finances in order, a creative project, your family, or anything else than can keep your mind active and off the frustration of watching the clock. Best of luck to you and everyone reading this. We've earned it!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresLost French Passport after application submitted to USCIS

You have to contact French embassy/consulate in your area to make sure. Some embassy just gives you a piece of paper stating that you lost your passport in US so that you can still get on a plane and leave the country. I think if you explain your situation, they will issue a new passport though.

I lost my passport once in US while on a student visa and Japanese consulate issued me a new passport. The new passport says "this passport is a replacement of passport #xxxxxxxx." I did contact the police, searched my passport together, and file the police report though. Japanese consulate didn't ask me for the police report, but you have to make sure that with your embassy as well.

Yes he can apply for a passport in the us if he is resident. He will need to apply for a lost/ stolen passport with the police declation paper. If he is not a resident in the usa,he will need to apply for an emergency passport which it is not good to him as his validity is for 6 mth/1year and most countries.will not issue permanent visa on it.

Therefore,
1- report lost passport at yr nearest police station.
2- check if y have any copy of the lost information page of yr passport anywhere with a copy of the temporary US visa
3- contact the french embassy, or have a look at the french embassy website in the usa. They are normally very easy to undertsand. Y prob will need to take an appointment but please make y have all docsbas request in it.

Hope it helps even if the reply is late.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresFrance Police Clearance

Hey all, I am trying to get papers together for the next round. I am wondering, is the Police Clearance just the "casier judiciaire" bulletin n*3 that lists the most serious offenses (if applicable)? Or, is it something more specific? I am confused because the bulletin 1, bulletin 2 and bulletin 3 contain different information according to their website: http://www.vos-droit...sier-20250.html

Also, my husband lived in Tunisia from the ages of 16-18, then age of 18 to present in France. Should he also request a Police Certificate from the Tunisian Consulate?

Thank you!

Hello,

Bulletin 3 is enough but it will need to be less than3 mth old when submitted at the embassy.

He will also need to provide a police record from tunisia if he has lived there in the last 10 years.

Hope it helps.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCould my visa be refused?
Hello,

Congrat avec le marriage...:)

First of all, y cannot move to the usa without a visa even if yre married to a usa national.

Y can travel to the usa with the waiver program but y will need to leave after three mth.
In yr case, the officer might ask y deep questions as yre married to a usa national? then they will try to determine if y are attached to the country where yre from or where y live. Therefore, if y have a job, why are y coming here, whats yr plan, where do y live with yr wife...etc any answers which makes the immigration officer believe y will try to stay can cause y troubles.

In the end of the day, it will depends of the officer during that day if she/he is in the good mood, if he/ she follows immigration rules, if they are busy..etc etc nobody in here can tell y the outcome.

The only thing we can tell y is if y tell them, yre married to a usa national and y try to move straight away there yre not following the rules and y will be refuse to enter the country

If y decide to travel there, i will advise y to travel with a return ticket, proof that y have money to survive there, a letter from yr parents in law to confirm y will be staying there when in the usa and they aare happy ab seeing y and their daughter and maybe be honest ab the fact that y do not intent to stay in the usa yet thaty might apply for a visa when y leave the country but y are just coming to the usa to see if y like the lifestyle...etc
Ps: do not speak ab looking for work....y have few wks to think ab the reasons so think well.

Good luck to y
