IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCR1 Visa

Good day to you all.
I have been going nuts for the past couple of days ever since i was told by my husband that we are gonna need a co sponsor.so I am here by seeking some information about the co-sponsor for CR1 visa.I have been told by my husband that in order for us to file for a CR1 visa we are gonna need a co-sponsor...but i would like to know the requirements that a co-sponsor should posses to be qualify for the case?i would like to know if the co-sponsor has to be a family member ?i also need to know if the co-sponsor has to own a home? or any other assets or valuable possession.i am just seeking sufficient information has to what a person need to have or fulfilled in order to be a co-sponsor?cause so far it is very hard to get someone to be our co-sponsor.one more thing i need to know...me and my husband would like to know what else we can do in the case if we can't get someone to be our co-sponsor....we need to know what will happen if we don't find a co-sponsor? I was wondering if the embassy will deny my visa.... but, then what? Do we start the process over? or pay more money to have it re-open. Do we have to wait until next year so that my my husband taxes will look better?
waiting patiently for your reply.

Does your husband present income meets the income requirement for the number of depends that he will be supporting? The income requirement is set by the proverty level income.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHealth insurance

Sorry but the Health Insurance Company isn't stupid or even wrong in this case.

To add someone to Health (Medical) Insurance you need to have a qualifying event. You then have 30 days from that qualifying even to add them. Here is a list of Qualifying Events:

1. Birth
2. Marriage
3. Loss of Other Coverage
4. Open Enrollment
5. New Hire

Immigrating to the US or even obtaining any kind of immigration status is not a qualifying event.

Your husband could have added you after your marriage even with you residing out of the country but any benefit you are entitled to in another country would be minimal.

When we married I choose to not add Anna & Gabby to my insurance as we didn't know when they would be coming to the US. Once we made it to the NVC stage I decided to add them at the next Open Enrollment period which was October. They arrived at the end of November and had coverage!

BOB 4 Ana and someone else who has stated what is posted above is the only one's who has given the correct answer to the OP posting.

ok so my next question would be is how long do I need to work at my current job before i can sponsor my husband on my own? granted, that I make 125% of the poverty rate.

CR1 will need to show that last year taxes (2009 or 2010) and present job exceeds or meet the 125% proverty level for your household size.(2009 or 2010)

How long are initial joint sponsors require to support the intending immigrant? If I cannot afford to sponsor this year but can next year, do we still need to use the same joint sponsor or can we just not use them at all.

Thanks!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresIR1/CR1 BLUE SLIPPED

hi peeps!! hope all is going good for everyone. so i had my interview today, and got blue slipped
for my co-sponsor 2007-2008 tax return.my question is what are my chances of getting denied when i took those back
have anyone, ever been denied after bluesipped??

Your co-sponsor will need to show that their income was at the 125% poverty level for 2007, 2008 and 2009, if they were not at the 125% for the number of people that they are supporting, then I would suggest you find another co-sponsor who meets the guideline. Not meeting the 125% poverty level will get a denial, if they meet the level, the a visa will be issued.

happening? is getting a blue slip a bad thing, what do you think will happen
when i get back to them, will i be interviewed all over again?
they didn't take my passport, shouldn't they have taken it if they

the consular officer asked me questions about me and my husband, and how we met, and stuffs like that,
then she asked me to show her pictures, which i did, then she asked what else i have, so i presented her
with what i had she looked over them, then asked to see my passport, then she gave it back to me and issue
the blue slip, with please provide federal income taxes for X yrs circled in red.
based on this information what do you think will happen?

The package can be sent from anywhere in the world, it just needs to have the correct postage. A P.O. Box can't tell where a letter arrive from, but because it is coming from out of the country, it maybe scanned and held up in customs for extra scrutiny. It may not arrive at it's designation in a timely manner.

Future Mrs..... when they are reviewing your (everyone's) case they will look for a legal entrance into the USA, by looking into the database system for valid visa entre. They will know before you are interviewed if the applicant has entered the US illegally or legally.

All visa entrance are entered into the US govt database. HOMELAND SECURITY.

Question #11 on the I129 form that ask if your financee ever been in the USA, this question must be answered correctly. If you answered YES, then you must show the USCIS how you entered into the US. This is where your trouble may begin.... Becasue you just staed that you entered the US illegally.

I meant to say I live in England and we have now split up. For lots of reasons but I wanted to end it because of how badly he treated me.

He had asked me to ask a friend of his who is a lawyer about getting an immigration lawyer. We didn't sign anything for the immigration lawyer except the forms for the K1 visa. The lawyer did say that we could get married but not tell immigration. I am glad I didn't go down that route.

I never put my name to anything except to email people but the forms were all signed by him. I never put my name to the house and we certainly never had a prenup saying I would give him the money.

QUOTE
He did tell me he would sue me for breach of promise and now says he wants all the money he paid even though there was nothing to say I would do that. He claims he is suing me becasue Heather Mills sued Paul McCartney and we went onto a website and had a virtual wedding and now he thinks that it is legal even though it isn't.

I am just scared he can sue me and I know if he could he would. I know is isn't the first time he has threatened me with the police and the law but this terrifies me. I know now he doesn't love me and while I always guessed it this has just proved it.

Dennise there is no getting around the rules, you will have to accumulated 40 quarters of work credit, or you become a US citizen. The only quick way out of this will be for you to try to become a US citizen when you have completed the required amount of time.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAbout the co-sponsor.
Here is a good example, I have seen a many financee who arrived here on a K1, get marry, then within a month or two becomes pregnant. They knew from the beginning that their husband did not have any Health Insurance to cover the pregnancy, so now they have to go to the state to request assistance, i.e Medicaid, or WICK to covere their medical care for this pregnancy. They are unable to cover the cost out of their pockets for the total medical care, so they now are requesting this aid from the state to cover them.

It is my understanding that the state will go after the sponsor, because you'll need to realize that the K1 ONLY get your SO thru POE. Your SO 194 expires within 90 after entering the US. You'll will still have to adjust status(AOS) inorder for your wife to be legally here in the US at this point. . This is where the I-864 financial oblogation comes into play.

I actually have read all the guides on this website, and everything on the State Department's website, and numerous other websites as well. I guess my post really lacks structure and my frustration is probably evident because there is a lot of information and it is overwhelming. Plus, not only was I researching fiance visas, but also spouse visas (because we thought it might be easier to get married first, but now I'm seeing that it's about the same), work visas, and student visas (for him to get his master's in project management/architectural engineering). So it's all one big mess in my head and flowing together etc.

I guess for starters, I really haven't really read/found anything that clarifies my question in bold (of the previous post). For the fiance visa, the petitioner must be in the US to file. Is there anyway to somehow navigate around this? i.e., if I were to fill my forms out while in Egypt, give them to my father who is visiting next week, would he be able to send them/file them for me?

You can file your paperwork from any place on earth that can delivery mail to a US address. USCIS does not care where the mail orginate from.

It is not wrong or right, it's a pesonal choice.

The 10 year old offspring is so going to have all sorts of fun playing and learning ball from his/her 80 year old person. They are going to run all over the local park playing cricket, soccer, badmington, etc So very cool and nurturing.

Yes, the kid will be running all over the park, but the father would be doing what any other father is doing today observing his child play.

There's a difference between dealing with an incident and creating one. But you knew that.

But why is it wrong for an older woman to make this kind of decision? No one has be able to answer this question, all everyone has said is they don't think it is right. But why is it wrong?

No offense but you're not making much sense. My parents are married and in their 60s and they do just fine being married ppl taking care of themselves, getting to appts, etc. but when it comes to taking care of children, it's not that easy. It's not even as easy as it was 15 yrs ago when my oldest was born. My parents aren't the only 60+ yr olds out there in the same situation. Being married and caring for yourself and a spouse is VASTLY different than caring for a child.

Anyhoo - I'm not the baby making police, I'm stating MY opinion. It's not something I would do. If others want to...HAVE AT IT.

I am making sense, I am using your agrugments as comparsions. Yes, making babies should be a personal choice for a woman. It should not be society who tells a woman what she should be doing with her body. That is all I am trying to get you'll to see. For every reason you list, there is a woman of a child bearing age who has the same issues but they are able to have and raise their child success.

You'll are comparing your comments to maybe what has happen to your parents, but older health issues for woman have come a long way. Yes, an older woman can die but would you base your decision on doing what you want to do on the unknown factor.

Based on your ideal answers, an older woman shouldn't even get married at that age, nor should be be caring for her family. I have new for all of you'll who hasn't had your first child, an older woman would be able to do it better than you at an younger age. What they will have over the younger age is wisdom and experience. Raising children requires these 2 assets more than energy or good health.

It's one thing if the pregnancy happens naturally at an older age because, I believe, God knows best. In the case of IVF it's totally different.

Absolutely, NO ONE in this thread said that it's irresponsible for a grandparent to raise their grandchild. Hell, I know plenty of families that grandparents are the ones raising the children for whatever reason. Having a baby of your own at an older age via IVF and being a grandparent., really? How could you even compare the two!?! I wouldn't imagine there are many granparents out there thinking that "Oh, I can't wait to be the sole provider - emotional, mentally and physically for my grandbabies that my own child can't take care of for whatever reason."

So no, these issues wouldn't arise at an age because IVF is is a choice.

Based on your argument it is irresponsible for any woman to have a child thru IVF, because it is a choice. How could you even state that a woman past a certain age doesn’t have the factuality or mentality to raise a child. This same statement can be made for any female from a child bearing age group of >15.

No one said raising a child at that age is irresponsible. It's not ideal but no one said irresponsible.

Okay, why is it NOT ideal?

No, they said it is irresponible for a woman to birth a child at that age. Having children isn't just about birthing it's about raising that child thru it's age of development. So, what is the difference again in a woman giving birth and raising their own child veus raising their grandchildren at that age.

Based on what most of you'll wrote here, you’ll feel that it is irresponsible for a grandparent to raise their grandchild if the natural parents are unable to do so. What is the difference between an older woman birthing a child and one who has been left with the responsibility of raising their grand children?

Let take out the medical and health reason that could complicate a pregnancy, these issues can arise not matter what age a woman is when conceiving.

So you are saying that for the taxes the total combine income on the tax form is off by $40.00. Do you have any sayings that can make up the difference, such as $200.00 in a joint savings account? If so, then this will solve your dilemma.

For those who are going thru the Jamaican embassy it can be either, they can ask directly, or indirectly, or they can do a blood/urine drug test. We here on the yardie forum have seen and heard of it being conducted in all of these ways. We have seen an OP denied because of association with someone who had done drugs.
