Sorry about my bad manners, good afternoon everyone.

Okay you DC/MD/VA ladies, Springfield , Va is 30 mins away from DC, Fredericksburg, VA is 1 hours away on a no traffic day. Richmond, Va is 2.5 hours away, and Fredericksburg is 1 hour away from Richmond. You ladies must be driving down 95 doing 80 to 90 mph to get to Fredericksburg in 30 to 45 mins.

Well, Marie, it will be a total mess, also what hotel/motel are they staying at for $50 a night, because the other $50 must be for the bus.

Marie, Fredericksburg, Va is about 1 to 2 hrs away from DC. Since traffic will be bad that day, they are looking at a 2 to 3 hrs bus ride to DC.

marie, i have sat if traffic as long as 5 to 8 hours just to get to Fredericksburg, VA one Thanksgiving weekend. It was awful.

The only thing I will be concern with will be my art work, but I will be removing them too. I am only 4 subway on the green line from downtown.

Marie, I am seriously thinking about it. I could get between 4000-7000 for the rental of it for that week. I would rent beds to put in place of the existing beds that i have in the rooms room. I wouldn't want peoples sleeping on my own persoanl beds.

Hey KK, did I not read that you'll will not be off for the inaugration on the 20th of January. It it because most of the employees live north of the Washington DC. The 395 beltway will be closed off on that day. The Marc trains and subways will be packed with out of towners.

I am thinking about putting my whole house up for rent for that week. I live close to one of the major subway stops and 45 mins from DC. I have 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths 2 half baths and a den. I could probably get about 4000, for renting it for that week.

Missing the the nice weather, here in my state it is COLD now. I like Spirit Airlines, what I like most is the fact that the transfer to the Jamaican flight is just a walk over to the next aisle. I know no food is a dragged, but most of the airlines are charging now for everything.

My return flight doesn't get me back into DC until 11:00 pm, so that will be a dragged, but since I am only 45 mins away from the airport, that will be okay. My suitcases should be lighter too.

Nuttin'. Had to take Damien to the airport 5 this morning sleepy.gif He's flying Spirit so I packed his favorite snacks for him. ..no food like Air Jamaica. But he didn't see them until he landed in Florida. I snuck them to his bagback...he's so happy now.

My daughter had me breakfast. Debating if I should go to the gym or back to sleep unsure.gif

Does Damien have a long lay-over in FLL? Since I have been here , I have probably lost 5lbs...just from the heat and not drinking any diet sodas.

My neice is crazy, she is trying to cook w/me over the internet. I told her we need to have a web-cam.

Everyone has gone to work and school today, so I will sleep alil more and then this afternoon we will be going to the beach.

Good morning Sjb, 1Luv, KK and Portland,

My B-day party was wonderful, I will post pictures when I return home in Dec. I had so much fun, just went to bed at 3:30 am, don't know why I'm up, but my cell phone has started to ring. I will miss this holiday, I was trying to explain it to the family-in-law. I will miss the oyster-stuffing, deep fried trukey. I told them maybe we should try to jerk a turkey.

How long are u in Jamaica for?

I will be here until 12/2/? I have been here since 11/10, I didn't think I would be missing the holiday, but I guess I was wrong. My neice called me about how to bake this strawberry cake that I usually make, so I'm trying to walk her thru the process on yahoo-chat.

Jawi, there are some bad area in Kingston, and there are some good areas. To me it's just like any other big city, DC, NY BTL, ATL, DET, LA. There are gated communties in Kingston, and then there are the real bad areas. I find that most people tend to stay in their own communties, we went to a dinner party last week of someone who lives in the community they call Hollywood, that's not the JA name. Then community was like any other community.

But I wouldn't travel to Trev Gardens either.

Oh trust me. I don't take that for granted either. I grew up in the "hood" in Atlanta, so I definitely have my wits about me. I just can't get anyone to show me any parts of Kingston...even the good parts. I know that A doesn't know much about it, so he wouldn't be the best tour guide...but he is my man so you know...that was a natural to ask him. LOL

I truly understand about that, if Joel think someplace is not safe, he won't take me either. We argue about me taking the bus, I told him if it's good enough for his mother, then it's good enought for me. It was an experience though.

Being here in JA, is great but you do miss some of the foods and drinks that you are used to eating and drinking at home everyday. So, today we are going to go into New Kingston to one of the Hotels and I am going to get an American meal. If I could find a starbucks I would be happy too, but I know no such luck, so I will just settle with an American cheesebuger or pizza. If they have italian I would settle for that aswell.

you can take someone out of the states but you can't take the states out of someone. whistling.gif

So true. I don't ever crave American food while in Jamaica...but I do get tired of chicken (not a big fan of it anyway)...so as long as I can get fresh fish (steamed/fried/grilled), lobster and veggies I am good to go.

Jawi, that's funny. All my cousins want to eat is American food while I'm there and I'm like hell NO! When we were in Kingston they went to Fridays, Marcel and I left and went to a Jamaican restaurant not too far from there.
