Mrs. P, I just want to get thru with this visa process, I want Joel to get his 10 year GC, that's why I don't want to adjust status until Aug. In 2/2010 we would have been married 2 years. So id we do the K3, then file for AOS in Aug I will be fine.

But if we do the CR1, can we file for removal of conditions before the two years are up, then I will be okay with that aswell.

hey ladies,

mRS p, I AM in need of some assistance in how i go about making group arrangements for my friends to fly down and any of my VJ sisters to JA in october for my nuptials?? i know only how to get my blak azz to JA, i dont know about everyone else??

oh yeah, is anyone here familiar with Hibiscus Lodge? or Mahogany beach? I am looking for a nice location that is not a resort or maybe a villa for rent for the day.

Apparently bookit.com now does installments....sooo if you make the first booking just forward it to them and they make their own along with that. Luvtravelin on here is a travel agent, maybe try pm'ing her to see if she could do anything for you guys!

Thanks. I will try bookit.com.

'Manya,
I'm telling you, check on Just Vacations. The man I generally use is Chip, but the other two workers there are so nice and helpful. Girl, Chip was the one who booked our first trip to JA 4 years ago, and knows more about my relationship and drama than he probably should! He is a trip, and even since I've moved back down to NC he calls to chat! I love him! He was just pricing a trip down to the Bahamas for me in Aug. He is good! The address to the agency is 501 King Street, Alexandria, VA 22314. Their number is (703) 838-0040

Thanks...Chip is not far from me. Damien is dying to go to the Bahamas...if he ever takes time off work headbonk.gif

Do a long weekend trip, a Thursday to Sunday.

A travel agent can hold blocks of flights with deposits, but not all airlines participate. Most hotels have an agreement with a particular airline, they will put a hold on flights when you are booking the rooms thru them.

Mrs. Palmer, I can't find a number to CA, but I see where the CA filer are calling the regular USCIS number and they have gotten good results about the status of their case. So I would say, try that, and see where it gets you.

On a brighter note, I will be headed 2 JA next Sunday (4/26-4/30). Will anybody be down there during that time?

Mrs. Palmer, it's time for you to make that call to Vermont.

Brycie's school has summer camp aswell, but sometimes I put her in into other programs so she can meet some different kids than those at her school. They are all expensive. As far as the vacation, we have done both disney world, disney land, sesame place and hershey park so we are not going there. I don't want to do a amusement park this year.

With this visa process, and me travlin back and forth to Jamaica, I don't see the funds for a cruise either, so it may be going to visit some friends and family in GA or FLA.

I need some advice
I know this has been talked about a million times before
but i am really struggling with the decision to do the K3 or CR1
for the K3 filers, what made you choose to go this route instead of CR1
and for the CR1 files, what made you choose this over K3?

Bunzarelli, I have file a K3 and the reason that I file a K3 rather than the CR1:

1. We have been married over a year and at the time of AOS, we would be award a 10 year GC , rather than a 2yr one with condition.
2. My husband already has a SS card, so we don't need to have an AOS done inorder to recv one.
3. We will just file for an EAD card, than wait to file AOS so we can qualitify for a 10 GC.
4. There is no time frame difference between a K3 or a CR1

if that is the case, why EVER renew them again?

Because Ja English you are reafirming your commitment to this marriage because over time you and your husband have grown and changed .

Who is your audience? If you are writting this to persuade the state or federal govt, then I might use manadatory. But if your audience are parents, then manadatory is too strong of a word.

KK, that will deprnd on the number of people involve and the family members. Is the question what is a reasonable amount of notice to give then I would say anywhere from 6 to 9 months. You can't book airfare 12 months out any way, most airlines will only allow you to book airfare only 9 months out.

It's things like this that gets me down, tomorrow I am going to a big award dinner where I will be receiving an award for a major milestone, But guess what I have to go alone, I can't even ask a old BF to escort me. So this is a bummer on my list tonight, I can't even get excited about what to wear. I know they will want me to give some type of speech, but I am so down, I am not even going to prepare anything.

Joel is fussing with me about this and I don't even care.

Roxcie, I can imagine how you are feeling - I completely understand the frustration of feeling on hold - But have faith and confidence that your turn will soon come - the USCIS rep you spoke to confirmed it - And celebrate your award, don't be down about it - Joel will be with you in Spirit, take pics so that he can see them, and embrace your success and hold your head high - you worked hard for it, you deserve it!

Okay, so this will be the only time you wouldl have been to Jamaica is for the interview. You are filing a K1, there maybe a small problem with that during the interview. You need to put that question out there for some guidance. One of the questions they generally ask is how many time have you been to see your SO? Just thinking out loud here.

Now for the interview, we have name of hotels that are close by the embassy on the LDR Jamaican Survival Post thread, so that will be no problem there.

I wouldn't travel 3 hours out of my way to an airport just to avoid a small lay-over.

air jamaica BWI and kingston

Okay, so you are traveling to BWI, which is about 3 hours away from where you live, Taking American Airline out of Dulles would have been better, you would have had a lay-over in Maimi. Kingston airport is small, are you staying at a hotel in Kingston?

If so have a print out of your travel plans to show to Kingston customs. Be prepare to go thru customs in Kingston, use the visitor line. If you have gifts, do not declare them, you will have to pay a custom tax on them.

What part of Kingston will you be staying?
