IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresAugust I-130 approvals, lets do NVC together.
Hi everybody,

I have just passed the Medical Exam in Prague, Czech Republic.

I have all documents ready for the K-3 visa but I want CR-1 visa. My husband has already paid AOS bill and IV bill online and he will send I-864 EZ and DS-230 as soon as NVC finishes processing of these bills.

There is no problem to schedule an interview at the U.S. Embassy in Prague. You call them and you get an interview in about one week. The embassy in Prague isn´t busy cause Czech people don´t want to live in the U.S.
I will wait until my husband sends I-864 EZ and DS-230 to NVC. Then I am going to schedule an interview at the embassy in 3 weeks.

I can always change the K-3 visa interview to CR-1 visa interview.

Hi everybody,

my husband wanted to pay the AOS fee bill tonight.

When he logged in, there were two bills waiting to be paid - the AOS fee bill and also the IV fee bill.

Does it mean that our IV bill has already been generated? He didn´t ask me and paid both bills anyway.

Thanks Martina kicking.gif

Hello,

I have just received this e-mail from NVC.

Your inquiry has been received at the National Visa Center (NVC).

The NVC has received the Agent of Choice selection. The Immigrant Visa Application (DS 230) processing fee bill will be sent to the designated agent on the case. The fee must be paid according to the instructions before the instruction packet will be sent.

Does it mean that they accepted my DS-3032 Choice of Agent? I don´t have to mail the hard copy now.

Thanks Martina kicking.gif

I took Ling Ling´s adivce and didn´t wait until the AVR says that DS-3032 was generated.

The NVC has sent me AUTO RESPONSE 1 min ago.

Should I send DS-3032 once more now?

I already have ALL required documents including my PCC and BCC but I can´t use them.

Hi everybody,

my husband finally got our NVC case number yesterday. The live operator told him that they would generate the DS-3032 Choice of Agent and AOS bill at the end of this week. They didn´t give him the IIN number.

What should I do? Should I wait until they generate DS-3032 or should I send it by e-mail today?

Thanks very much

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresAugust I-130 approvals, lets do NVC together.
I received the K-3 package from the U.S. Embassy in Prague today.
I also made an appointment for medical for September 16.

We weren´t able to get our NVC case number for I-130 yet. My husband keeps calling but they won´t give it to him.

As a mater of fact, they didn´t give him the NVC case number for K-3 visa as well, but it arrived in the mail on Friday last week.

The trouble is both our petitions (I-130, I-129F) were approved at thi same time from USCIS. The NVC is slow on processing the I-130 but processed the I-129F (K3) very fast.

What should we do?

Hi there,

when I filled in my DS-230, I forgot to put 'Present' in the question # 20...
I wrote from 1/1978 to 9/2008.

Do you thing this could cause a RFE? NVC is reviewing our DS-230 now. Should I send my hubby a new DS-230 just in case?

Thanks

Hi everyone! I am working on my I-130 Petition and I got to the biographic information. Obviously I am stuck so I am asking for your help.
On G-325a:
This form is submitted in connection with an application for:
Naturalization
Other (Specify):
Status as Permanent Resident
I have to check one of the above. Is it status as permanent resident or should I check Other (Specify): and put I-130 Petition?
Thank you good.gif

You should check Other (Specify) and write I-130 Spouse

It looks like this: Other (Specify): I-130 Spouse

That is what I wrote on my G-325a and it was approved.

Thank you!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWhen to email the choice of agent
Hi everybody,

I found this in LingChe Guide:

DS-3032

The DS-3032 AKA Choice of Agent, is the form that indicates who will pay the bills and accept other documents from NVC.

Once all documents are fully loaded in, the AVR message MIGHT change.

Operators will be able to tell you if the DS-3032 has been generated.

If the DS-3032 has been generated, you can email it (See the WIKI for address and format) or use the instructions at the top of this guide to create your own barcode cover-sheet.

Attempts to send DS-3032 via email may or may not receive an automated response...but the automated response does not mean it's been accepted.

Due to SPAM filters at NVC, if you do not get an automated response immediately, either switch to a different email account or mail the DS-3032.

Once accepted, you will get an email message...or you can confirm with operator.

Attempts to mail or email DS-3032 before it's been generated are useless. It's like trying to pay a water bill for a house that hasn't been built yet.

The auto response email just means that they accepted your email. It doesn't mean they can do anything with it.

It’s a good idea to mail AND email the DS-3032

I recommend everyone to MAIL and EMAIL the DS-3032. The hard copy (mail) is usually processed faster then an e-mail. It took the NVC 10 days to answer my e-mail and enter the DS-3032 in the system.

Hi everybody,

I passed my immigrant visa interview today, my immigrant visa was approved. kicking.gif

I came to the U.S. Embassy in Prague, Czech Republic at 2:30 PM, my interview was scheduled for 3:00 PM.
I went through the security check, the security guard took my cell phone and put it in the box. He gave me a badge and I could go to the consular section of the U.S.Embassy.

I took a ticket from a kiosk and waited in the immigrant visa waiting room till my number appeared on the screen.
The consul asked for my medical exam, he didn´t want to see the X-rays. Then I was told to give him my passport. The consul didn´t ask for other things cause I had already submitted all documents to the NVC. The consul went through the papers and told me to wait until my number appears on the screen once more.

I waited about 10 mins and then I was called to the counter. I signed the DS-230 Part II, the consul took my fingerprints and asked me ONLY two questions:

How many times have you been to the U.S.?
Have you overstayed your visa?

Then he told me I was approved. I spent only 45 mins at the U.S.Embassy.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedureswedding photos required for CR-1?
QUOTE (marends @ Dec 3 2008, 07:23 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
My Chinese fiancee Tracy and I will get married soon in China. We want to know if wedding photos (friends and family, red table cloths, etc) are absolutely necessary when submitting the CR-1 petition. Her immediate family completely disapproves of her moving to America, and we're not sure whether there will be a big wedding celebration. Is it okay if we simply have the marriage certificate? Be advised that I've traveled to see her in China 9 times over the past 2 1/2 years. We already applied, and she was APPROVED, for a K-1 fiancee visa back in June 2007. Unfortunately, because of her family problems, she couldn't come on the K-1. That visa expired on 12/31/07. She requested an extension, and GUZ approved a 6-month extension to June 2008. Unfortunately, her brother DESTROYED her U.S. visa and passport in June, just before she was ready to come. We contacted GUZ and told them the situation and asked for another extension and visa reissuance. They told us to put the request in writing. We submitted this 2nd extension request to GUZ in July 2008. GUZ denied it in August 2008. They said they would grant only one extension, and they suggested we apply for a new visa.

So now, Tracy and I are ready to just get married in China and do a CR-1. We have abundant proof of the relationship dating back to April 2006, including proof of 9 trips (the most recent 3 weeks ago), photos, telephone bills, emails, letters, etc.........and soon a marriage certificate.

Is this enough to begin the process for a CR-1? I very much hope wedding photos aren't going to be absolutely necessary. (I've posted this also to CandleForLove)

Hi there,

wedding photos aren't absolutely necessary. We didn't send any wedding photos with our I-130 application, just 2 affidavits signed by our friends confirming bona fide of our marriage.

Our I-130 application was approved in 2 months at USCIS California and sent to NVC.

Good luck

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresNOA1/NOA2 spreadsheet tracking
Hi everybody,

you can add me to this thread. I hope my story helps someone.
Me and my hubby filed for I-130 at California Cervice Center and when we got our NOA1 for I-130, we filed for I-129F (K-3 visa).
We thought K-3 visa would be faster than CR1 visa but both applications were approved at the same time by USCIS California.

We decided to follow both paths - K-3 and CR1 visa.
I-129F was processed very fast at NVC and sent to embassy.
I-130 was processed a little bit longer at NVC but our case was finally completed on September 29. You can read more details in my signature.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI134 question
QUOTE (JoParkinson @ Oct 14 2008, 12:32 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hi all

quick question thats is confusing me but easily cleared up i hope.

Does my fiance (the petitioner) send the i134 affidavit of support to the NVC? Or does he send the original to me for my interview? I have read conflicting things on this.
One thing says he sends it to NVC.
Another says that i have to send it to my embassy in the packet 3
Another says that the embassy might already have it when they send me the packet 3 which suggests that NVC has already recieved it from my Fiance and sent it to my embassy with the other case forms.

im very confused right now.

Also we have recieved our NOA2 but no NVC number yet. that is anticipated in the next 1-2 weeks. However i have jumped the gun and gone and got my medical out of the way already. Has anyone else done this? I was told it was fine to do it but the embassy specified Doctor as the medical is current for a year and you can download the form off the website, just hoping it is all right to do it.

cheers all

I found this on the website of the U.S.Embassy in Sydney, Australia:

Affidavit of Support:
Evidence which will show that you and your children, if any, are not likely to become public charges in the United States. The affidavit of support, Form I-134, which your petitioning fiancé(e) needs to complete on your behalf and on behalf of any children if applicable. The I-134 must be submitted with supporting documentation from your fiancé (e) to prove his/her ability to support you upon your arrival into the U.S.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresworking on I-129F package and have a QUESTION
[quote name='Dodi' date='15 July 2010 - 10:28 AM' timestamp='1279207686' post='4066989']
I'm a notary, so I generally sign everything in blue anyway just for safety's sake, but when my mother (co-sponsor) signed her original I-134, she signed it in black, because that's what she has to do at work. When I was organizing the file, I looked at it and she'd pressed so lightly that you couldn't see any indention from the pen, and it really looked like a copy. I knew it wasn't because I'd watched her sign it, but BOTH of the originals I had her sign looked that way. I had her do another one in blue just to be on the safe side because if I can't tell, the CO at the interview isn't going to bother holding it up to the light, he's just going to kick it back as a copy (even though there was an original in the I-129F packet thanks to my shoddy atty).

The photos in the UK are acceptable, that's what my fiance sent over for the I-129F packet and they worked fine. I didn't write names and bdays on them, but it's possible my attorney did before she sent the packet off.

Don't worry about the paper. It's no big deal. It's what's ON the paper that counts, so just make sure the printer works well. We sent copies of everything for the I-129F, but I sent originals AND copies of things for his Interview Packet, just to be on the safe side. Certified copies work for court documents (divorce decrees) but I sent the original marriage certificate and birth certificate as well. (Top-hole punched a sheet protector, then put the neatly folded document in that to send so I wouldn't have to punch the original.)

Hope that helps!

Thanks Dodi,
I think we will be safer with blue ink as well!! Funny what little tiny things one needs to think about..oyoy :)) I am also thinking if my denied student visa about two months ago might be an issue.Hopefully not..at least from what i read around! I was told to try again anyway lol :D

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresworking on I-129F package and have a QUESTION
Hi everyone,
I am new to this and first of all i would like to thank all of you for being so helpful as i found many useful things here on this "long run" :)
My fiance and I are filling out all those forms for the I - 129F package and I probably have a silly questions but since we want to make sure everything is correct,i have to ask.
1) The instructions for the I 129 F form say to type or print in BLACK ink.I assume the same applies to the G-325A forms.I thought all the signatures should be in black ink too but then i read somewhere here that we should sign our names in BLUE ink because USCIS may think we are not sending originals but copies. What are your experiences please?

2)This is super silly but i noticed the difference between the paper format in the US (the paper is wider and shorter)and in Europe (longer and skinnier.Could this possibly be an issue since my fiance will be filling out the forms in different paper format in the US and i will be sending him my paperwork (G-325A and Fiance letter of intent)from Europe?

3)I went to see the specifications on the passport photo (which needs to be part of the package) and it directed to the page where all the photos looked like the visa type of photo witch is 2x2 inches instead of the requirements in european union (where i come from).Passport photos in EU are 3.5 x 4.5 cm.which one should i use?

4)Am i right to think that all the documents and forms included in the I-129 F package need to be originals?

Thank you so much for any help!! I just want to be with the one i love as soon as poosible without any possible delays :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresapplying for a K1 with a previous visa cancelled

Your revoked tourist visa shouldn't have any effect on your K1 visa application. You were denied entry because the CBP officer had a suspicion, and used his discretionary authority to deny entry. There were no firm grounds of inadmissibility. If there were, you would not have been offered the opportunity to withdraw your application for admission.

They may ask you about this at the interview. Just be honest. It isn't a problem.

Thanks Jim,that is what i was hoping for :) i had my F1 student visa denied not tourist but i think,at the end of the day it should not make any difference.I count on them asking me about the previous visa denial and i am ready for that.not speaking of the tons of evidence that my fiancee and I can provide when it comes to our relationship :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresapplying for a K1 with a previous visa cancelled

Hi everyone my name is Victoria i am from Argentina, my fiance is american and i am looking for a little advice in this long and compicated process!!. i met my fiance almost four years ago in the states with a j1 visa. After that i kept going back and forth with a tourist visa. Last january when i was trying to go see him again i got sent back from atlanta back to Buenos Aires and they cancelled my tourist visa. I wasn't deported they gave me a "WITHDRAWAL OF APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION" since they said i was living in the us and not in my country and they suspected i had a nanny bussines. I never stayed longer than my I94 said and i did not work as a nanny!!. Worst day in my life by far, i hope nobody ever has to go through that humiliating process.
Anyways, does anybody knows someone who has been approved for a K1 visa after having a visa cancelled?? Any similar experience will help understand everything a little better. THANKS!

Hi Victoria!
It seems like we have something in common! I am probably not going to give you any smart advice or conclusion on that but at least we can share each others news.I have also been in the US for J1 visa for 2 years (i extended the second one)and found an american bf.After my time as an au pair was over i needed to come back home to Czech rep. and applied for visa waiver (it was easier and faster for me at that time than to apply for a tourist visa). The first time i visited US on the visa waiver was from october to december and than from january to april...i never overstayed or anything but i realized the more frequently i keep coming back and forth i will be suspicious even though i never had any troubles with immigration. So we decided to apply for student visa for me.Did cost us money, time, nerves and the visa was denied two months ago The reason (from what they said)was that it looked as if i was living in the US and not back home and also their main concern was why i didnt go home to extend my J1 visa but did it in the US.It was the standard process and i only did what my LCC told me....oh well...! I was told to try again, how funny! Now my bf and i are applying for the K1,trying to put the I-129f packet together.I learned that applying for the K1 with a previous visa denied is usually not an issue.I myself was told my the consul at the embassy to come when my situation changes and apply again. There are exceptions on everyting and i dont know how serious your "withdrawal of application for admission" is what consequences it may have but i will cross fingers and wish you good luck!Hope this helps at least a little bit :) Lenka

Ok, I've never participated in one of these kinds of threads because I never felt bad enough. But holy hell I had a complete breakdown last night. I've been strong through these last 6 months of the waiting. Waiting for NOA2 - no biggie. I was prepared for that to take 5 months. Thankfully it came quicker so that was just a bonus.

But for most people the embassy stage is quicker (with the exception of Montreal I know and I'm sure other places as well). But the process on his side of the ocean in Ireland has been tortuous. The embassy taking longer than normal to process our package after getting it from NVC. Incompetent useless pricks at the police stations taking forever about his police cert. The medical doctor treating John like ####### and never answering phone calls/emails/in-person visits. Then the embassy rescheduling his interview date twice. So frustrating.

But still, even with those things I was plugging along and doing well. But everything else just came crashing in on me last night. All of a sudden the fact that I've been doing almost EVERYTHING for this process on my own just overwhelmed me. Finding an apartment and buying everything we need for it; moving in alone; planning the move to a different state; deciding what day we're going to get married; booking a B&B for a little mini honeymoon; finding a dress for our little courthouse wedding; buying my wedding ring. And the kicker that set me over last night was that I had to get my wedding ring resized because I have freakishly small fingers, and now the ring just isn't the same. I'm losing it over this ring and I don't know if I can get over it. There's not a lot the vendor can do and I just don't know what to do. It's like EVERY SINGLE PART of this whole engagement and marriage has been a compromise or concession. I couldn't handle ONE MORE THING, especially my WEDDING RING being another damn thing that I have to "settle" on.

I was sitting next to my mother, tapping away on the computer, when all of a sudden I broke into tears and literally sobbed for ages about all of it. My eyes are still swollen today from all of the crying. And I still don't really feel better. :(

I am not a dramatic person at all. But I've reached my limit.

Dear slangofoil,
I found myself in your words when you said that this whole engagement and marriage thing has been a compromise.I think all of us dream about that big day to be in a certain way,we want to pick that special wedding date,do all those arrangements together with the one we love,we want to pick that special place,we want our family and all of our friends to be there but somehow we need to settle for less. All this may not be important for all of us but for me it certainly is! I wont be able to have my best friends on my future wedding,I wont probably get married at a day that was important for my fiancee and I and even though i have only been in this process for a month (but not being able to be with the loved one for 5 months) i found myself into a breakdown two weeks ago and there was literraly nothing that would calm me down for a while.I envy to those who get to do things the way they want and at a time they want.dont get me wrong, all this sacrifice is so worth it cause my fiance is the best thing that has ever happened to me but the little things come to my mind often.
I am sorry you feel you didnt handle anything because i think is not true. From what i read you did amazing and i will cross fingers on your interview date.everytime i am sad and need to cry,i just do so and as desperate i may sound or look,it does help me to relieve it all and get thru this.I would better cry and break down few times knowing i am human being and not a robot.Neither are you! i actually thing it would be a little scary if you went thru this whole thing without showing single emotion.
Dealing with goverment, arrogant and stupid people is not helpful and i have experience this too and it does bring me down but i keep my head up and cant wait for the moment when i am sipping a coctails by the ocean with my husband to be on our honeymoon and laugh at it all!
You have been great! keep it up as you are ALMOST THERE!!!! set yourself on the positive mode as you are going to be going to the airport soon ;)
Wish you all the best and good luck!
Hope all this didnt sound like a nonsense :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDealing with the waiting game

Hi everyone,

I wanted to post in relation to the stress and how everyone deals with the magic K1 waiting game, in particular the wait for the NOA2.

I find I drive myself nuts checking the website and wandering when it is going to be. My dear OH lets say takes a much more relaxed approach. How does everyone cope with the waiting and being apart from each other? Each day goes by and you go about your day to day business but sometimes when I think too much about it I start to think how annoying, unfair and frustrating this process is and what the heck takes so long!

Anyone else get sick of people asking the same question 'have you not gone to the states yet' 'why is it taking so long? I'm like you tell me, I don't know so don't ask me!!

Any tips other than ' just keep checking' or 'be patient' - ive had that too many times and starting to lose patience with the damn immigration system.

Sorry had to vent  :bonk: :help:

I am another from many dealing with the same ting.People questioning me why does it take so long and why this and why that.Yeah its tiring and unfair.I dont go to the USCIS website more than once a week.Checking those processing times REALLY stress me out since i see them changing quite a lot now (seems like the CSC is slower than it was a month ago)and thats what we dont want.Since I spent in the US most of time last 3 years as an au pair and then as a tourist I try to concentrate on my family now, friends i haven seen in years, seeing places i have never been to in my country and working, anything that keeps me busy.Yeah i am home since May and I am quite ready to go back but i keep telling myself to appreciate what i have now because i know as soon as i come back to the US to be with the one i love,i will miss my country, family and friends again.
I admit that the time goes by kinda fast for me as I am really not bored but its never fast enough anyway!! As some of you I am lucky enough to see my fiancee every third month so i always on the date when he is actually coming and not on this long way run.Breaking this time apart helps me tremendously but i do realize that not everyone is that lucky. My sister helps me ALOT! Her and my parents are the biggest support :)
I do believe that things will be allright at the end and things will work out for us.We have nothing to hide or worry about. There is only ONE thing that makes me crazy and thats that someone sitting at the embassy can make such big desision for us.I heard so many stories here when couples got denied and were so desperately in love and ached to be married.I have one experience with denied J1 student visa. All my paperwork was allright but the consul did not even take a look at it.He was busier to yell at his colleague to make him a coffee, rolling his eyes,i swear! So i am like....ok i will go there again, have all the paperwork again and if that person will not be in a modd to look at it,we are screwed.Yeah THAT dives me crazy.
Oh man now i see venting myself too :) We all need it!
Goodluck to all of you and lets vent more often :) Lenka

seeing it is only the 17th, I would wait until the 19th to ask if you can come pick it up. Seems like that is what they told you to begin with. Congratulations and good luck. Stay calm, I am sure it will be ready when they said.....19th :)

National Visa Center (Dept of State)NVC - passport Photo - ? SiZe ?
the problem is our photos are never 5x5 they are smaller and they assumed i wanted passport photos for Europe and the head for me was too big, way too big and at the second place everything was perfect but the background they made blue and said they dont keep the photos so they cant change anything on them. The cities I had to take a bus to are each an hour away so it was a bit painful hehe

Definitely understand. I felt like Alice in Wonderland.....I mean, they are simple 5x5, white background and what not. But yes it is important to take the measurements and instructions with you and make them read it. I mean, I definitely dislike being in any way even little forceful so I was really nice even when telling them there was an issue with the photos. Good luck and no worries, i am sure that once they understand what you are after and that in no way you mean to tell them they are doing a bad job, you should be fine :) By the way I was amazed at how identical our problems were.

All the best !
