K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK-1 and ESTA
You have a valid K1 visa in your passport, they should ask you about it at the airport when you check in....or just check your passport and see it there. Either way it should be non-issue.

As for the I-94...since you know you need it just get it from the people that pass it out on the plane before you land. On ESTA you would do nothing but in this case just listen out for them announcing it towards the end of the flight and fill out the form. That should also be straight forward since you know that is what you need to begin with.

Once you are at your POE and standing in line also make sure to notify the people who divide the lines up. In my experience they usually make sure you got the right forms. When I was coming on ESTA they would ask me which visa I came on and also check I-94s from other people standing in front of me.

Dont worry it will all be fine. Good luck !!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSomeone who got denied entry
I dont know about your first question - but I don't see why the airline should have to pay for the return ticket to be honest. I think if you get denied you go to the counter and ask for the earliest flight back and pay for changes ? I don't know, that is what I came up with while reading your question :)

The K1 is not in a sealed envelope it is in your passport as any other visa. The K1 documentation from the embassy is in the sealed envelope which you cannot open and have to hand in at the POE but you still have your passport with visa to show !

Hope that helps
J.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhat to tell to the CBP officer?

Yes you were. The I-129F IS for a K1 visa.

I am sorry but I think she only mentioned the K1 because she has been researching it and plans to file for it with her bf..not because she was filing for it now. :)

to the OP:

don't worry about it. Just tell them exactly how it is...you are visiting your bf. I had met my husband online also and the first time that is what I told them...meeting first time, excited and nervous :)

I would have to say though....we did meet 6 times in a year and a half....but good luck if you feel that filing K1 immediately after your visit is what you want to do ! :)

Wishing you all the best !

I'm back in Chicago...and wifEy is back in Tokyo sad.gif

Received the interview letter and instructions. Looks like she just has to bring her passport and medical (done weeks ago) because we sent originals of everything.

As for December scheduling...I'd expect they'll begin on Nov. 10th and continue through at least the 14th, but probably not beyond Nov. 18th

So what'd I miss????

Oooohhhh just got a call from Ring Ring...now I can sleep well. smile.gif

Hey Ling Ling,

I received my interview letter and instructions yesterday. I also have to bring only my passport and medical cause they already have all my documents.
Your wife´s interview is on the same day as mine - NOVEMBER 4th 2008.

Thanks L,Ling.
Well Money faucet is not turned off. I still have to pay 180 Euro (about $280) only for the Medical exam + any shots that she may need. She has got all of them in Iran with a little booklet showing the shots but who knows.

This is the game for them to make more money and they know how to do it.

Now 26 more days of waiting isn't very enjoyable but I got to do lots of cleaning in the house.

Master Rajaa,
Officialy or non-officialy I hope this process come to its end for you so you can be with you hubby ASAP.

Choochoo,
Congrats on case complete. Happy completeing. Some fridays are good.

Hey Nimche,

180 Euros for Medical Exam is OK in Europe, I also paid about 160 Euros for my Medical exam + X-rays in Prague, Czech Republic.

I though this might help.
If you guys paid online, you can print PDF from online website (reciept says PAID for $400) and email it to you and then you print it.
It might not be necessary but with immigration and being so unpredictable people, its good to have extra papers to be on the safe side.

Don't put an uncertain situation on your paper work during the last step.

He Nimche,

I tried to print PDF from online website but it is no longer available. My case was completed at NVC so I can´t log in anymore.
I can ask my hubby whether he has saved this file in his computer.

I wrote my Interview Report in my Topic!

"Paste" here:

OK!!! Almost Done!!!

I am going to explain my experience, maybe some of you find this information interesting!!!

In Spain there are only two clinics to pass the Medical Examination.

I called both, but I felt one of them more useful than the other.
The Clinica Angloamericana told me that I need to schedule the appointment two days before the interview to
obtain the test results.
The Clinica Radiodiagnostico told me the same, but they can do it in one day before the interview for the people
who do not live in Madrid. The lady is very very friendly and explained to me that I was not going to have
problems with the Embassy if I arrived late to the interview after collecting my test results.
I called the Embassy, and the lady told me the same thing. Then I decided to do it with Clinica
Radiodiagnostico.

My Appointment for the interview was scheduled for Oct 1st at 9.00 am.

30th September 2008

07.30-08.30 Fly from Asturias To Madrid

In the Airport I had a little problem with the wheelchair assistance and left the Airport very late.

My Appointment in the clinic was at 10.00 am but I arrived at 10.30, NO PROBLEM!! The Lady and the Doctor were
waiting for me, The Doctor is a elderly doctor very kind and useful.

10.30 Arrived to the Clinic

10.40 Medical examination and medical documentation (I do not need any vaccine)

11.15 Go to the next building to do the XRay

12.00 Back to the clinic with the X-ray, and they sent me to the laboratory to do the blood testing
The laboratory is about one minute walking!

12.10 Blood Testing

12.25 Go to My Hotel

In two hours all done!!! The Doctor is a very very nice person, He tried to make things easy. The Lady explained
to me, that tomorrow I would have to go to the Clinic at 10.00 am to pick-up the results.

1st Oct 2008

09.00 Go out from the Hotel

09.40 Arrive to the Clinic

10.00 Arrive the Doctor to the Clinic

10.05 Leave the Clinic with the Result, the doctor tells me, Everything is OK!!

I took a Taxi to the Embassy, My Appointment was at 09.00.

10.20 Get the Embassy
Nobody told me anything about arriving late!

I gave the letter to the Receptionist and the lady gave me the number

10.22 First call!

The lady was super mega kind!!
In This First Call, the lady checks all the documentation, and the bills.

She asked to me for the pictures, the IV bill, and one more document, I did not have copies of this document,
because I thought that it was not necessary, but I did not have problems, she left to make a copy, and she gave
me the original.
She returned some original documentation to me, but not all. For example, she did not return the originals of
the Tax, I know that my Husband want them!

She explained to me that now the documentation was completed, and I had to wait, but there are going to call me
two more times!

10.40 Waiting for the next call!

11.00 Second Call!

A very young man called me, and took me the fingerprints!

He was very kind and funny, he tryed to speak spanish, but he cannot!

11.05 Waiting for the last call!

11.40 Third Call!

A young lady called me, this call was for the interview.
I knew that she read all my case, because I saw her with my papers when I was sitting waiting!

Baby: Hi! (I spoke in Spanish, but I explained you in English, hahaha)
Lady: Hi!
Lady: Where did you meet your husband?
Baby: From 1989
Lady: Wow, it was a very long time!
Baby: Yes (I explained her a little bit our history) It was very singular, and Nobody can make up something so
weird!
Lady: Where did you get married?
Baby: (I explained her that We got married two times, one in USA and another in Spain)
Lady: OK! Everything is Ok, then You are APPROVED!!

Then, She explained to me that they are going to keep my passport, and send it to me in two or three days with
the VISA. She explained that I am going to receive two envelopes, one that I cannot open, and the other one with
my passport!

Lady: Do you have any question?

11.45 Finish with the Lady

11.50 Outside the Embassy

One hour and a half in the Embassy!!!

No Problems!! Everything went very very smooth and easy!!!

If someone wants to know anything more, just ask!!

When I was outside, I called my Husband!!! and We felt very good!

9 Months!!!! Wowww!!!

The nightmare is finished!!!

I have a little travel booked with my sister this month, so I am going to buy a ticket to the week of the 20!

Good luck to Everyone, and Thank you very much!

Thank you very much to everybody, because without visa journey everything should be harder and more difficult!

THANK YOU!!!

Hi Nimche,

my hubby is U.S. citizen, I am the beneficiary of I-130.
My hubby was in the Czech Republic this September and I gave him the DS-230, I signed the DS-230 in September. I also gave him two more signed DS-230, dated October 2008 and November 2008.

I didn´t write PRESENT on any of these forms for question number 20.

I tried to type in PRESENT in question number 20 now but my computer doesn´t let my write PRESENT there. It says I need to fill in numbers, not words.

it is great that I can buy Czech beer in the U.S. Me and my hubby went to BevMo and always bought a lot of Czech beer. BevMo has 4 types of Czech beer - Pilsner Urquell, Staropramen, Krusovice and Zatec.

I recommend everyone here to try STAROPRAMEN. It is wayyyyy better than U.S. beer.

Yes, I can cook but I am not as good as my mom. My hubby keeps telling me that my mom makes better goulash than me.

Hello MsZ,

thanks for your advice.

I have been to the gym many times while I was in the U.S. I really like sports so me and my hubby went to baseball game almost every week cause he has season tickets.
Our house is in Scottsdale, AZ so I am a big fan of ARIZONA D-BACKS.

I was not able to find shops that have stuff from the Czech Republic. The Czech Republic is a tiny country in Central Europe, maybe some VJ members have already been to Prague.

I really missed Czech food, especially goulash and dumplings.

Hi everybody,

before I got married to my U.S. hubby, I wanted to know whether I can handle being away from home. So I left the Czech Republic in January 2008 and went to the U.S. for 5 months. Luckily I had my visitor visa so I could be with my fiance during this time.

Everything was O.K. at the beginning. I loved the U.S. and learnt new things every day. After 1 month I started to miss my job cause I was not used to being a housewife. I worked as a language teacher back in the Czech Republic. My hubby introduced me to his friends and we got on well from day one.

After 3 months I got really homesick. I missed my family and friends and didn´t know what to do with my life. I cried a lot and called my family on Skype almost every day.
But the things have changed from day to day. I found my first friend in the U.S., she is also an immigrant.

Now I am back in the Czech Republic and we are still in touch. So to summarize it, there is always light at the end of the tunnel.

Hi everybody,

I have just passed the Medical Exam in Prague, Czech Republic.

I have all documents ready for the K-3 visa but I want CR-1 visa. My husband has already paid AOS bill and IV bill online and he will send I-864 EZ and DS-230 as soon as NVC finishes processing of these bills.

There is no problem to schedule an interview at the U.S. Embassy in Prague. You call them and you get an interview in about one week. The embassy in Prague isn´t busy cause Czech people don´t want to live in the U.S.
I will wait until my husband sends I-864 EZ and DS-230 to NVC. Then I am going to schedule an interview at the embassy in 3 weeks.

I can always change the K-3 visa interview to CR-1 visa interview.
