USCIS Service CentersUnbelievably short Timelines

Although I found your post highly amusing I also found a hint of, to put it in the easiest way possible, jealously.

Our petition was approved within 28days and I have my interview this Monday. We filed at the end of October before my fiancé was deployed to Afghanistan with the US Air Force. We were thinking of expediting and although we looked into it, we didn't. I still dont know to this day why we were approved so fast but very thankful we were. The only thing we could think of was that the person who processed our case was fond of the military.

From talking to other people on VJ, I understand that their petitions are taking a rather long time and it must be frustrating for them...yourself included. I'm sure your NOA2 will come through soon. Try not to think about other petitions and just remember that sooner rather than later you will be with your loved one. I personally think the whole process is like a game of snakes and ladders. I guess we were just lucky and rolled a double 6 but im sure you'll be climbing that ladder soon!

USCIS Service CentersCSC WORK PROGRESS
well, they probably don't have much to say. They are behind. If you are at 6 months now, wait 2 more. I am not even frustrated anymore just waiting and hoping when we reach 8 months, we will receive some sort of answer - not holding my breath though. Luckily all the plans we made were only in our minds. :bonk:

USCIS Service CentersVSC churning out applications. CSC is absolutely comatose.
I think the frustration comes from the uncertainty and randomness of it all. I don't mind waiting 8 months if I have to but i want to know that is how long I have to wait period. If the approvals went out at steady pace not 3 months for some 6 for others or even 10 months for some then we would all be much calmer. Oh well....what can we do heh

Good luck to you guys and us

ps: gym really helps with the stress of it all as cliche as it might sound.

USCIS Service CentersCSC??????
Personal opinion: they do not really help, they just "force" the center to find your case and based on that they send you a letter of response stating that you might have to wait 30-60-90 days more depending on what they deem appropriate given their
current processing date. So not much but I suppose it can make you feel better since you are "doing something" rather than just waiting it out.

USCIS Service CentersCSC seems take longer to process
my only thought as to why they would be taken care of first is because they had been in the US illegally for a very long time through no fault of their own. It is always better to deal with the undocumented and get them "into the system" so to speak and keep track of them rather then letting them slide by. And if they did not pay taxes for this long I assume there is a financial gain coming from that as well...they would now be working legally and would have to pay taxes. Also, it seems their being approved or not would be rather straight forward. I just checked what they need to supply with their application - it simply looked easier than having to go thru each petition for, say, I- 129F with all the documents and trying to figure out if everything is legit. This way they finish this huge amount of DACA petitions asap and hopefully get back to their usual business. I am not happy about it but it helps me cope when I explain it to myself this way.
Just a thought though :)

USCIS Service CentersCSC seems take longer to process
I would hope they won't let it go as far as 16 months...that is a backlog they could not dig themselves out of. I can see how it would go as far as waiting 9-10 months for NOA2 though.

USCIS Service CentersCSC as of today for k1 visa is currently processing the current day of......
I wish we had known the options before filing too. Sadly, we got engaged the day before I left for my country and neither of us had any clue about anything. I dream about the days where I sat here first month after our NOA1 and thinking it would take 5 months....I felt so much better when 3 months passed, thinking...not much more to go and now.....its depressing to be honest.

USCIS Service Centerswhat is going on with CSC
I have to second that one. Mamichou is not being negative, I would call that being upset with the system that is clearly screwed up somehow. There is so many July, August and September filers who are waiting for any kind of response on their petitions and seeing approvals from December makes us all wonder what is going on and whether our petitions had gotten lost somewhere in CSC.
I, for one, am at a point where I am not even bothering reading most of the posts or checking the status else I would have to go completely insane since I cannot do anything to change the situation.

I am sorry Mamichou, I know how you and most of us are feeling right now. Hopefully, something will move along eventually and we were not forgotten :) Good luck to you and everyone else. Let's try to keep our spirits up as difficult as it may be....

lol, nobody saved, every one will have to wait more 30-45 days.

sorry, by the way it was worded I only assumed it meant that application they receive will be logged within 30-45 days and that if they were approved we would know as soon as they were approved. Just thought there is some sort of system where - if approved - you need to log it into the system as the person who actually approved it. My bad.

I don't think it has anything to do with cases already in the system. It seems to be for the ones that did not get their NOA1 yet...for them, it will now take 30-45 days to get NOA1.....someone correct me if i missunderstood.
