I really dont like the idea of 'rolling the dice' with the embassy depending on which day it is, or who you get that day for the interview, or if they are in a bad mood, and if they will or wont approve a co-sponsor.
It is a shame the embassy acts like that still (Been there, done that)

I had to dig up my ol' I-134 to confirm this... but my theory seems correct.....

I dont see anything on there at all about a tax return unless you are self employed. To me, it looked like it cared more about the bank stuff, and your employment statement stuff. Hopefully your HR person wrote on there your hourly wage as well as your salary (28K) If they didnt...the need to do that.

Down below on Statement 7 of the I-134 it says the following:

"I derive an annual income of: (If self-employed, I have attached a copy of my last income
tax return or report of commercial rating concern which I certify to be true and correct
to the best of my knowledge and belief. See instructions for nature of evidence of net worth to be
submitted.)"

Again...self employed...which you arent.
I dont see any * after the part where you would write 28K that said they need specific examples or proof of anything outside of your employment statement.

Id include your 2008 transcript when it gets here, and then call it a day. Maybe write a letter explaining that they need to look at your employment verification to see that you make 28K a year which is more than enough, and that the tax return only shows so much of 2008 because this was when you started.

I was worried for a moment when I read your tear filled question on here. Now Im not at all worried. The I-134 isnt really asking for much.
Id agree with what the lawyer said which was put 28K and if they ask... 14K was the remainder of 2008...you mowed lawns or something for the rest. By the time the embassy actually grants you an interview date(processing times joke), you will probably already have 17.5K in income from work that you can prove on payslips. haha.

Then when it comes time for AOS... run the I-864 with your mom if you feel you still need it.
Again...by the time you need to do that, because of processing times, it will most likely be 2010 and youll be fine.

Im wondering when calls start going out to reschedule old missed interviews?
My daughter was suppose to have her interview on the 17th. :(
I hope we hear something soon so we can finally go back to the US.
We were originally going top fly home on the 30th, but I dont see that happening now.

If any one was in a similar situation awaiting a call about an interview, if you hear anything and can let me know how far out the date is, Id appreciate it.

I tried calling the switchboard for the embassy but didnt get through to anyone. I bet they are getting an amazing amount of phone calls as soon as they reopen.

"On April 16, 2014, we scheduled you for your oath ceremony and sent a notice providing the date, time, and location. It was from the customer service line. I realized on the call, that it was basically worthless as the person talking to me could only see what I could see logged into the case site.

I just didnt know when the threshold gets crossed where its been too long of a wait and should get concerned?
Id have to travel back to Jacksonville to do an infopass and I just worried they would tell me to keep waiting. That might be what I need to do though.

Do you remember your interview questions? We're there any other questions about your application that you can share?


For me they just go through the n400 paperwork I sent before and double check what is there. Nothing crazy or weird questions. The officer who did the interview was very nice and friendly. She really just confirmed everything on there.

For interview questions, the only ones for sure I remember are who is my governor, and who is the father of our country, and name 2 national holidays? She asked me I think 3 more questions word for word out of the Quick Civic Lessons book.
If you know the answers to those questions you will be fine. I studied from here: http://amaruk.atspac...CivicsTest.html on my tablet and from the book I got at the biometrics office. Both of those are perfect for practice.

The reading and writing part are also exact from the English Test portion of the study book. (page 28 and 29)
I had to read outloud 'Who lives in the White House?'
I had to answer 'The President lives in the White House.'

You will be random and different, but if you know those words on the reading and writing pages and those 100 questions, you shouldnt have any problems.

When I did my last interview a long time ago they asked me if I was a communist and I didnt know what that was before.
It was a scary 4 or 5 minutes trying to figure out what that was and how I was going to answer and not fail.
I have nightmares of that happening again.

Out of nowhere I too got an 'On December 4, 2013, your N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION was scheduled for interview' email today!

Im super happy and super worried at the same time. Im really hoping this is scheduled at least a month out with the upcoming holidays.
I have to be out of the state until the beginning of the year for a family convern.
Ive been in LETS GO LETS GO LETS GO mode for so long and now the one time I really wish USCIS was a bit slow, I might have my interview scheduled. Haha.

We got the email that our application was accepted and forwarded. I logged in to track it and the description in the tracking says that our fee waiver was accepted!!!!

I got both the NOA and Biometrics date since I was last here!

Odd thing is the field office is different from what I figured it would be.   They want me to go to USCIS New Orleans for fingerprints.  Really weird since everything else I saw made it sound like Id be going to Jacksonville based off my county.

Do you know how longer usually it takes

 

Ours arrived in Texas on October 7, 2013 , 6:44 pm.

I just got my text and email!!!!!!(Oct 11, 3:00PM)

 

 

So almost 4 business days days to get notification.

So if yours follows the schedule ours did you should hear something hopefully around the 1st.

Looking at that link provided I see Okaloosa country under Jacksonville which is the county we fall under.

300 miles is far but at least its not Tampa and Orlando far.

I had hoped they had a Tallahasse location but sadly they dont.  :(

 

We have been in FL for over a year now, so we should be good to go using the new local office.

We live so close to the border of Alabama I wondered how everything would go for routing us to which place for everything.

 

Now let the waiting game continue to see if they accept or paperwork!

If you don't mind asking where did you send your file? What center? I sent mine to Dallas and it was delivered last Saturday and i still didn't get anything from USCIS

 

We sent ours to Dallas on Oct 3(last Friday) via Priority Mail. Checking the delivery confirmation it shows that it was delivered October 7, 2013 , 6:44 pm.

I know technically only 3 days have passed but I am freaking out wondering if and when I'll get an email or text. sad.png Hopefully I hear something by next week.

Hey everyone. Wanted to give an update since Im over here right now.

Interview came and went, and all is APPROVED!
Finally, all done!

I am so happy.
But i wanted to give everyone a heads up on the new process that they are doing since the interviews started back up in march.

NO ONE and I mean no one can come up to the counter for the interview like before. No lawyers, no fiance, no one.
If you plan to go to the interview, you basically have to sit there and do nothing.

SOme of the people giving the interviews are nice. A couple questions is all they ask, the approved. Others...not so much. They want to know a lot more about everything.
The interviewer giving my fiancee the interview seriously drilled her with questions for a good ten minutes.
I stood up and walkd over by the wall so I could hear all the questions being asked to all of the girls as I waited her turn.
SOme got out of there with a simple "where does he live" or "Where did you meet him."
Others, like my fiancee got the FULL interview.
Id recommend anyone who has an intrerview coming up soon, have your fiancee know inside and out the details of everything you mentioned on the "proof of having meet in past 2 years" paperwork, because there is a chance they will ask many many questions. ANd it can be hard to hear them talking. Its very load in that room.

Oh, and it CAN take more than a few days to get the VISA. some got them same day. Some the next day. We had to wait 4 days for ours. But Im finally out of Bangkok now. Now Im spending some time relaxing up in Udon.

Hope all is well with you all. And I hope anyone having an interview soon has good luck and gets one of the easy lines for the interview with little questioning!

We are heading to the States on the 16th together. FInally after more than a year this is all over.

Well everyone, the time is finally here for us.
Im leaving at 2AM in the morning and beginning my journey over to Thailand.
I finally arrive in Bangkok on Sunday night. The next day, I have to meet with Brian and his staff from mythaifiancee to go over everything one final time.
Then Tuesday is the big day. unsure.gif

Im about as nervous as I can get.
Im Worried they will ask her some off the wall question she would never know when we go to the Embassy. Or they will question some form of paperwork.
I know Im just worrying myself with all of this. Hahaha

Ill have a full report of how everything went once it is all over!

To anyone who has recently went along to the interview, what did you wear? Or what did you see people wearing?
I'm really trying to pack light so that my fiancée can use my second suitcase for more of her stuff. Because of this, I'm trying to only bring what I would need for the interview, and a couple other sets of clothes.

Suit, Tie?
Nice Pair of pants and a tucked in white shirt?

I'm just wondering what everyone wore, or saw people wearing while they were there.

Finally got a reply from the Embassy!!!!


Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, we will not conduct immigrant visa and fiancé visa interviews in February. The interviews will be resumed again in March. We have already scheduled an interview appointment for Ms. SOMPONG PIMVONG on 04-MAR-2008 at 07:30 am. We mailed the Packet 4 which is an interview appointment to this address on January 11, 2008.


The embassy website is STILL not updated. hehehe

ThaiStyleUSA, you are right behind me. I would not be suprised if your packet 4 is already in the mail!
It sucks that I have to wait an extra month, but at least now I know the official date!! smile.gif

This is some serious bad news. Unless a miracle happens and some of us get sandwiched in to the current list....we will be waiting until March.

They havent updated the list since Jan 2nd. I was hoping a new one would come out today, but it did not. Texas Farang's note may clue into why that didnt get updated.

Wow, the email response from visasbkk@state.gov came quick!
(1 day turn around on the email inquiry....but 6 day turn around since the paperwork was turned in. hehe)

"Thank you for your inquiry. The IV Unit received the returned Packet 3 materials of the applicant on December 28, 2007.
Once the interview appointment is scheduled for the applicant, we will notify her by mail"


Now I just sit and wait for the interview date. I hope it is posted soon so that I can start looking at plane tickets.

the embassy received our packet 3 at or around the 24th of december (after yours) and our interview appointment date has already been posted on the website. it is scheduled for late january.
