Reminds me customer service. They try to help you. But, the customers never coorporate. They think the CSR has some magical power that will solve their problem.

The agreement basically means that the sponsor must accept the financial attributes that maybe associated with your wife when she lives with you. This includes but not limited to unemployment, medical situations, etc...

The instruction did not list these things, but, it specifically states that the US Government will not permit her to apply for AFDC (Welfare), State sponsored Medical Insurance (ex. MassHealth), or any other manifestation of governmental assistance. They want to be ' hands-off ' without support for your wife. So, that's where the sponsor comes in and also the 125% Poverty Line rule.

You will be okay. You can also write a small letter and give it to the Consul explaining your situation as well, and make the interviewer aware that your wife will be okay for the next three or whatever years. Also, explain that she's capable of handling a job if she's given a position.

Somebody here wrote a letter to the Consul because he doesn't have the income required to support his wife. His wife got approved for the K-3 Visa.

Yes, they can be a co-sponser. However, when they fill out the form they must include themselve as member of the household including the brother, unless the brother has meet the requirements of 40-work credits or can place into an income category that is sufficient for self-independent. In other words, the brother will be counted into the household member list when filing if he is not self-independent. If the brother is listed, then the income requirements will need to be adjusted to meet the 125% Federal Poverty Guidelines in order to qualify as co-sponser.

I live in Massachusetts and I contacted the Dept. of Vital Records to find out if I had to file my marriage certificate with them. They said I don't need to if it's registered in another country. Might be different from state to state.
