Hey guys just got our London case number from the NVC.. 13 total days from noa2, so there is hope that once you get approved things will start to move quicker.. And it's worth calling before 15 business days like they say. Wasn't sure whether to post cos I know you're all so fed up - but like I say, at least you know that if you could approval tonight you could have a case number pretty soon!

Great!!!
It will feel like things are moving now

Medical tomorrow, will have that pint anyway, afterwards of course

Person Two numbers before me got approved in April and one in front of me end of May... Unfortunately that doesnt mean we are next... The wheel of the lottery is still in motion.

Exactly, the receipt numbers mean nothing as far as when approval is coming, unfortunately.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresQuestions when entering U.S on VWP or tourist visa to get married?
I think there is an element of discrimination and unprofessionalism in CBP, I always seem to get them somehow, a bit like always getting the nutter sitting next to me on the train or bus.

There is also definitely discrimination against self-employed people in my experience.

I wonder why his wife doesn't come on to get the answers they need. With the language barrier, his wife participating would seem to make things much smoother/easier.

Amen to this....don't you really wonder why ??? unless they are marrying someone incapable of saying there dang A,B,C's in order.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI was told my wife has been given an A#

Greencard isn't the first place you see it. Its on the NOA2 for K1's at the very least, sometimes also on their visas and sometimes CBP handwrites it on the I-94. Have you checked your NOA2 for the Cr1 to see if it's above the beneficiaries name there?

Indeed, was on my NOA2 and also my visa

http://london.usemba...ice_certificate

Police Certificates: Police certificates are required for all countries you have lived in for more than 12 months over the age of 16 years. Certificates are also required of military personnel. Police certificates must be obtained from a police authority. A police certificate is also required for each country where an applicant has been arrested for any reason, regardless of how long he/she lived there. Police certificates from certain countries are unavailable or are obtained directly by this office. Detailed country-specific information can also be found at the Department of State's website.

Please note that many countries require fingerprints to process police certificates for immigration purposes (e.g, Australia, Canada, Nigeria). Police certificates completed without the required fingerprints are not valid. In these cases, applicants must not capture their own fingerprints. View the attached PDF file for a list of UK police forces (PDF - 338kb) that offer a fingerprinting service. Applicants should not attempt to to obtain police certificates for the few countries where it is documented that police certificates are not available.

Note: United Kingdom police certificates are valid for one (1) year only. All other foreign police certificates are valid indefinitely, unless the applicant has traveled to the country in the last year. Bearing in mind this information, applicants must ensure that a valid police certificate is presented at the time of their appointment.

Police Certificates for the United Kingdom: A visa applicant who has resided in the United Kingdom for 6 months or more since the age of 16, is required to obtain a police certificate from the ACPO Criminal Records Office (ACRO). Further information is available from their website at www.acpo.police.uk . This police certificate will serve to advise the U.S. Embassy, London whether or not any criminal conviction is held against him/her. The police certificate will be sent to the applicant's address provided at the time of application. Please note that the Immigrant Visa Unit considers the police certificate valid for 12 months from the date of issuance, not six months as stated on the certificate.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPORT OF ENTRY EXPERIENCE - advice needed!!!
Personally I would avoid Atlanta at all costs.
Took forever to get through, it's very busy and enormous.
Apart from the Delta agent, who helped after I missed my connection and a random pilot, who I assume took pity on me when waiting for the "plane train", in my opinion it's unprofessional in every way, don't even get me started on CBP there.

Needless to say it won't be my POE again

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK1 visa granted, is return ticket necessary?

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/255674-denial-of-aos-due-to-inaccurate-info/

Hmmmm...and...8 months on and there are no updates on that one particular unresolved thread, it's not even clear who fked up, the OP will not say who it is in their timeline. "Our case is a sensitive one due to a massive error made on someone's part(wont say who). Trying like hell to correct error through...everything possible."

OK what about this scenario, the return flight that you "don't get on" crashes and all souls are lost.
According to their records you were on that flight...then what???
Sorry but our records show you left the country and are now dead ? :bonk: :bonk:

Oh please....
Stu4LeeMaleEngland2012-01-28 21:59:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK1 visa granted, is return ticket necessary?

In some cases, the they don't change/update the name even if it's not being used by the original person. If it looks as if the beneficiary left the country in the middle of AOS, they could have their i-485 denied based on being abandoned.

The following quote from kittylondon explains very well...I would like to think even USCIS could get that check right though, it's not rocket science.

seconded. i used to work for BA, and the passenger lists generated for each flight includes only passengers who checked in and physically boarded that flight. it's an incredibly important and accurate document that is passed on to authorities. there will be a record of your booking on a global system somewhere, but it will be clear that you did not check in for the return leg.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK1 visa granted, is return ticket necessary?
You could be charged a cancellation fee if you cancel, just don't turn up for return leg.

The only consequence for you not showing up for your flight is that you'll make someone on stand-by a very happy traveller.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-129F - Question 18

Dates of the meeting. That combined with the primary evidence you'll be sending will corroborate all.

And the size of the box is the length of the answer they are looking for....like two sentences max. Many people like to tell their life story and all it does is slow down the adujucation of the their petition.

Same here, couple of sentences max

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresShe is HERE and i need help!

And "grammar-correcting" is hyphenated (as is "#######-retentive"), si man.

Not always, it can be hyphenated or not. eg "that is a well-known fact" and "that fact is well known"
Now that's #######

Everyone's a stickler for the facts. Give me a break! I'm just a pedant in training. ;)

Stick with it

No, it is not hyphenated. So, no man. Or should that be no hombre?

Can be either, oh yes fella

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresShe is HERE and i need help!

It made me laugh too. And really, to be honest, it IS a pretty silly question.

Similar to.... "I have a job interview, do I have to go, or can I just send someone to take my place."

Didn't I say that? Look, you don't have to repeat everything I say! I dont need an echo.

(A new and improved, grammar correcting echo!) ;)

Oh dear, rather harsh there, especially as a real grammar pedant would not pick up someone else after such an error.

Similar to.... "I have a job interview, do I have to go, or can I just send someone to take my place"?

No period is required.
Question mark is required after quotation mark.

Just sayin' like

Edit - Even the use of quotation marks at all could be argued
