Do you think it's a good idea to get an immigration lawyer? Will it help? And on the AOS, do you really need to have some money on your savings??? Thanks!

Cool! Thanks for reply =)

on the G-325 A form (biographic info), would it matter if I answer "n/a" or "none"?

Not every page will be signed but every form. Some form have several pages but only one page - usually the last will be signed. And yes you can use the 2012 forms if you don't see a newer version.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK-1 Visa Application
Hi Everyone! I've seen a lot of very helpful topics here and am so glad I found this site. I am planning to submit my K-1 Visa packet application this coming April 2013 but am still kinda scared I might miss something. I've been preparing all the stuff needed like forever (lol) but still feels like something's missing or maybe it's just me. I just want to make everything perfect or complete so the process won't take long. You see, I've been waiting for this chance for 9 years already, (I just got my naturalizati0n last 2012), and can't wait to be with my fiancé. So far, I have almost 2 albums of photos from 2004 to feb 2013, some email, a lot of text messages that I copied/pasted to Microsoft word and printed, copy of money sent to my fiancé, copy of calls and a lot of proof which resulted in having 3 short folder compilations -- which I hope is okay to send, coz it's kinda bulky -- what do you think???

Anyway, I would really, really need your help guys.. I still do have a lot of questions.. it's so hard to prepare this on my own huhuhu..

some questions:
1. I've filled out the G-325 A form but noticed that the form expires 08/31/2012, but checked out uscis site but didn't find any new form. can I still use this? and are they strict on the "none" or "n/a" answers since they said not to leave any blank spaces? I just filled the blank spaces with "n/a" like if you have a spouse, and the file number.. but my friend said, we should have answered "none" under the file number? aren't they the same?

2. which forms do I make sure that every page was signed?? by me or both of us?? coz I didn't see any instructions to sign every page, anywhere..

am so confused.. HELP!

thanks!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK-1 Visa QUESTIONS - Newbie
I've already collected all my proofs and everything.. that was a lot of work
but totally worth it.. Anyway, on the G-325 A form (petitioner), there's a FILE NUMBER space on the upper right hand corner of the form and an ALIEN REGISTRATION NUMBER on the right lower corner of the form. Are those the same as my USCIS alien registration number when I first applied for US citizenship? I was just naturalized last sept 2012. So am wondering if I still need to write down my A number there (if that's what it means) ?? I've looked at samples and everyone's been writing NONE but that could be because they were naturally American citizens already??, so I don't know. Thanks guys.. :help:

hi there! Pls help..

Am a newly naturalized US citizen and am trying to fill up this G-325 A form for my I-129F K-1 fiance visa petition.  I just have 2 simple questions on how to answer the form (am a little paranoid LOL):

1. Applicants last address outside the US - do i put my last foreign address before i came here in the US?

2. Last occupation abroad if not shown above - i was working in the philippines before coming here in the US. ANd it's been 6 years already since I've been here. ANd now am a US citizen.  Does this question pertain to my last occupation in the Philippines? do i need to include it here?

hi there! am starting my K1 journey as well.. Am almost finished doing my package, will try sending it this month.. Anyway, from what I've heard, copy of arrival/departure stamps in your passport and boarding pass really helps.. then some pictures of you together as secondary evidence.. make sure you keep any receipts that you got while visiting her in her country, make sure it would show your name and place your card was used.. if you send money to her or vice versa, save those too.. hotel receipts..

Good Luck to US all! dancin5hr.gif

I just got naturalized as an American citizen.. do I still need to send my birth certificate (from my native country)?? or do I just send them my naturalization certificate?? to prove my citizenship?

and I've seen some people have sent their financial info/affidavit of support/tax returns, etc along with the initial submission of the I-129F packet.. I thought you don't need to send it to them until NOA2 or when it's my fiancé's time for interview.. or am I wrong?

send only the naturalization certificate, birth certificate is not needed unless you can prove citizenship with it.

for the original submission you dont need to send in any financial documents..they are only needed at the embassy stage

Hi.. Just bothered me.. Why can't i have all caps on the form G-325A?

And another thing, how many copies of the form do i need to send? 1 for each? Or 4 for each? Coz i've seen some posts before that they sent 4 copies of G325A each for petitioner and beneficiary.. A little confusing..

Thanks

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresquestion about file number for G-325A

If you have ever had dealings with the USCIS and have received an Alien Registration Number (A#) in the past then you of course put in the A# from your previously dealings.  If you are just starting the process and do not have an A# yet because you are the foreign born intending immigrant then I would put "NONE".  If I was a a USC by birth I would put "N/A".

Reasonings:

You have an A#, so you include it so USCIS can find your previous file easily.

You have never had an A#, but soon will as you are asking the USCIS to start a file on you.

You will never have an A# as you are a USC by birth and therefore this question is not applicable to you ever.

Dave

Thanks Dave.. So I was right then.. whew.. pressure off my chest now.. thanks thanks..

Yes I am the petitioner, born in the US.

I see.. Maybe that's why you have NONE on the A number coz you were born in the US.. whew.. I doubted myself there for a second.. LoL.. Thanks! (I still hope I was right! haha!)

No not at all they will want up separate everything and if stapled something could get ripped etc and them on 6 months you'd get an RFE.
You get no extra credit for presentation!

Aww.. good thing I found this topic while just browsing.. aarggh.. thanks.. but I didn't use the ACCO fastener.. I used a 3 ring binder with clear sheets, and that's where I placed my papers, no holes on my papers.. and my tabs are attached to the clear sheets (protecting my documents).. is that okay? am planning to send it next week..

I wouldn't add any verbiage to any document; you've now altered that document and it is not a true copy of the original.

Use paper clips and binder clips. Include a cover letter that also serves as a table of contents.

Hi! so I can't staple them together? like the I-129F and it's attachments? Thanks..

You can take pictures in each location with the front page of a newspaper from each location and make sure the date and name of paper is visible. If possible do it in front of a landmark that is known at each location.

Keep receipts for each day you take the pictures to validate your pictures were in the same place you got receipts.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresMy Visa Journey Help Guide

Comments like this are disheartening.  I love that someone is using their time and energy to try to compile information into one concise place, in the hopes it will make life easier for someone else.  I remember when I first found VJ, and it was so... vast.  This topic is inherently broad, with so many nuances.  What the OP is trying to do here is give a simplified breakdown of the most common scenarios, and if I had seen something like this when I first started researching, it would have saved me from asking a lot of stupid questions and would have allowed me to search for information more effectively.

We are here to help each other, each in our own way.  If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresMy Visa Journey Help Guide

I sent one G-325A in for each of us -- so two total.

Another thing I thought to add: Gabriel and I created a gmail account with a google drive account linked to it. We both have access to this account, and I scan everything I send to USCIS and everything I receive and put it on the google drive. I have all the supporting evidence on there, communication logs, etc. All the electronic notification goes there and everything. This way, in case anything happens and I'm unable to respond promptly to an issue Gabriel can pick up where I left off. It also helps because he gets kept in the loop and always knows what is going on.

thanks rolleyes.gif

il keep that in mind and will try to do the same..
