The waiting never ends!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am still waiting for my case to be sent to the NVC this Thursday will be four weeks since my approval. I spoke with the USCIS and they told me it can take up to 90days. What a bunch of BS, our tax dollars hard at work.

Just want to say hi to everyone, I just found VJ a few weeks ago and this is my first post. I was introduced to the love of my life Beth a little over a year ago. Long story short... chatted, traveled, met, proposed, filed for K1 May 3rd, CSC got it on May 7th, traveled back again, now just waiting like everyone else here. VJ says I might get the approval Sept. 18th and man I hope that turns out to be true! After having your heart and plans set on 90 days or so 135 days now seems like an eternity.

I'm so encouraged by the few May approvals that are beginning to show up here. Best of luck to all of us, hopefully this will be a busy week for USCIS.

--Mike

Welcome Mike And Beth!!! I think that it's imposible that USCIS continues to do as little as they have done otherwise timelines will turn into years instead of months crying.gif !!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresShe had a visa 15 years ago (lost info)
Yenifer entered the U.S. about 15 years ago at the age of 10 with her family (aunt + uncle) and stayed in California for about 2 years and does not remember what type of visa this was. Since then the uncle who applied for the visa for her has divorced and still resides somewhere in the U.S.?????? And the her old passport is nowhere to be found. Our question is...in packet 3 on form ds-156 asks if you have ever been issued a U.S. visa...when, where and what type...and she no longer has that info what do we do and how important is this to finalizing our K1.

Input and info is very much appreciated...Scott and Yenifer

Andrea, Buck,

Thanks so much for the information you've provided. Only now do I realize how important it is to prepare for that interview (Scott, I just sent you my email address. I would really appreciate if you can send me that list).

About Panama, I am a little surprised to find out about the $500 USD. Is that because they are Colombian citizens? I ask this because I was in Panama (business trip) for three days back in June and I don't remember paying that much. I flew using CopaAirlines (I think they have a partnership with Continental) and unless the fee was included in the ticket, I didn't pay for it. Maybe rules changed. (overall price for the ticket was $700 USD round trip).

Have a great weekend!

That is all I have tight now. Details to follow when she gets back to Bob's office and I have a better translation of the details. Most of what i got out of Paola was squeals and sensless jabber comming at me about 100 MPH.

For those that have been required to go thru a 2nd interview........................How does it work? Paola has a new interview number and the paper requesting the Police certificate, the embassy has all the other docs. Does she just go thru the same process as before? Do they call you up sooner since they have the docs already?
If you can't tell, I am getting nervous again. LOL.

Buck...all things being logical, the police certificate was the only issue so Paola should show what was missing at last interview and they will issue her visa. Now...worse case scenario they interview her again...she answers everything they throw at her and she gets her visa anyway!!! So you see...either way it's a "winner" buddy!!! Don't worry "too" much because I'm sure it will go your way this time. good.gif good.gif good.gif

Good afternoon everyone! Let me introduce myself as the newest member of the Colombia club. I am so glad I found this group! As I am sure you all know, it gets lonely when there is nothing you can do but watch the days go by... and that status that just doesn't change. At the same time, there is so much at stake!

I hope by sharing my experience I can contribute to everyone else's quest. I've been trying to read all the posts... but 157 pages! So I am sorry if I am about to ask something that maybe has already been discussed, but, does anyone know what vaccinations will be required before the interview? I am hoping my wife can get those shots ahead of time so that she doesn't take them all at once during the medical exam.

BTW, Diana, I wish you the best luck. I am sure everything will go well and I hope you can share with everyone your interview experience.

This is my timeline:
Send I-130 early June. Received NOA1 June 18th, 2007
Sent I-129F July 30th. Received NOA1 August 20th, 2007
Current status: "Received and pending"

Welcome Juan Carlos,

You've chosen the right thread because you will find answers to your questions here so feel free to ask away! good.gif

Here are the vacines you will need but I am not sure how far out from the interview will be an acceptable time frame to have this done...there was talk and some controvercy earlier in this thread as to what would be valid when you got to Bogota...I hope someone has more to add...Lucho...Billl y Bella...Charles...Diana...Byron...Buck...Luish??? helpsmilie.gif

Td = Tetanus and Diphtheria vaccine
MMR = Measles, Mumps and Rubella
Varicella = Chickenpox

Thanks Charles,

I found the OF-169 on pg 5 of the packet 3 instructions and as far as getting all fancy pants and filling out everything online I think we will take a step back to save the frustration and fill the forms out by hand...I brought 2 complete packets of 3+4 to Yenifer on my last trip to Colombia (2 weeks ago)
so I think we will stick to plan "A". good.gif

Boy to I need help...OK here's the deal...went on to Bogota embassy website to fill out packet 3+4 forms and email them to Yenifer...DS-156 no problem, DS-156K will not allow me to save but only print, DS-230 can not be modified online just print blank to be filled out manually, and finally does OF-169 still exist if so where and is it still necessary? What the HELL...am I just stupid or what?

Diana and Paola,
I want you both to know that you are in my prayers...I, as well as others here in in VJ understand the emotions that you are feeling right now,
and how important it is to you to be sucessful in your journey. I think as "real" people, us VJers have a "real" desire to find happiness in life...that starts with the help of God finding our soulmate against all odds. Just remember that you are not in this alone and we are here for each other together as one. May God Bless you both.

Hey Colombia Club...looking for input/advice as to how to answer this one in the I-134.

11. I intend__do not intend__ :
to make specific contributions to the support of the person(s) named in item 3.
(If you check "intend," indicate the exact nature and duration of the contributions. For example, if you intend to furnishroom and board, state for how long and, if money, state the amount in U.S. dollars and state whether it is to be given in a lumpsum, weekly or monthly, and for how long.

Thanks, Scott
