CaribbeanSdo- consulate new adress on june 16

Oh! Wow!! Blessed you!! To have a contact who can educate you to how it works!! That's awesome!! I'd love to pick their brain and see how everything works!! LOL  I'm a nerd and researcher/investigator by trade and nature... lol So I am always curious to understand how things works and why they work that way...

I hope the new place has good A/C because the pictures I have seen do look like it has NO SHADE!!! and yep! Definitely NO Parking from what I can see... Pero si PriceSmart has a pretty big parking lot but it gets full too sometimes.. if you are talking about the one near Bella Vista... Is there more than one PriceSmart in SDO?? I like walking to the one near BV the street behind the PriceSmart parking lot is really pretty... or maybe it was now I gotta look on Google Satelite and see where the new embassy is.. It's sound like it's close to the area I know well.

Well, if it has no parking... I guess that's one way to get rid of Buscones!!!!

I can see it now... the next evolution of Buscones will be Buscones Taxi Service!!!!

 Ppsstt... Psstt.. Oye!! Por trente DOLLARES (no pesos) te lo lleva alla... tres ciento pies...y espera aqui por ti y lleva te pa'tras cuando salgas!!

O maybe Buscones en Bicicleta!!! Con un stapler, camera y imprimador de solar!!!

Do they REALLY keep every contact we make in our file..?? Good lord if so they are chismosando de mi!!! Viste este gringa.. que loca!!!  Ella estas eennnaaammmooorrraaadddooooooooo!!!!!

I send emails to the Embassy but they only give generic answers... Drives me bonkers!!! I have not yet found a way to get to a human except for paying the 8 bucks which I am about to do if I do not get a better answer than yesterdays canned response!!!! It was the worst!! They replied with EXACTLY THE SAME information that I PUT in my email to them!!

#######!!  Don't repeat back to me the information I gave to you and call it a response...

We have been in Administrative Processing since Nov 2013 (due to medical reasons) and anticipate the return of my Fiance's medical exam in August 2014. My question to you is when you receive the medical results where are we placed in the working order? Are we placed in the front of the queue as if we never missed a day (after our Interview) Are we given expedited processing after waiting so long? Or are we placed at the end of the line to continue waiting as normal.

Can I request an expedition of resuming work and processing the visa?

I put in some personalizing things here so they know we are human and really do want to be together... (obviously they didn't care - see response below) then closed with....

What is the protocol for resuming work on our case once the medical clearance is received??

What can I do to make sure we are processed quickly once you have the medical results... Call?? Write Letters? To Whom?? What can I do??

Not ONLY do I have the CDV number programmed in my phone!!!!!!!! I am on a first name basis with the lady in charge over there.. so much so that she LITERALLY knows my voice when I call and is happy to hear me and speak to me!!! I even have her direct personal email...

Same goes with the Ministry of TB for the Dominican Republic entero!.. LOL Dude! I have personal emails and phone numbers of the Vice Minsteria!!! Trust me when I tell ya I am ON TOP of this part!! I actually have gifts at my home to take to them both when I go next time in June... that's how good of a rapport we have developed! They have been so sweet to me that it brings tears to my eyes when I think of it!! How could I not do something kind and thoughtful in return...?

I just wanted to understand the process for how the Embassy handles it once they have! I don't want to delay it any form our side.. I wanted to understand the next steps so nothing is missed...  But that's what I got back...

After 8 unexpected months of waiting we are grateful to Papa Dios for his fast recovery.... but I just want him here... safe. People who get TB are actually MORE susceptible after they recover and are off the antibiotics than they were before they ever got it. (for the next two years) He has since moved to a new apartment (the other one had mold and mildew/filtrazione in the walls). I'm just ready to bring him to our home!!

I am in ap, and I stoped to e-mail them, because all the time they were answering me with stupid answer.
So I am waiting and doing my own things here, but their answer are stupi when you need a good information.

CaribbeanWhy does I-797 (NOA2) say "forwarded to consulate"

Thank you. And another question related to the NOA2 paper: the expiration date is in October, does this insure that my interview will be before that or will i have to re-apply after the expiration date if, say, my appointment falls after that date?

In 2 weeks you can call nvc to know your case number.
About your expiration date , dont worry your interview can be after that without problem.
My expiration date was february and I had my interview on march, so the expiration date doesnt matter.
Once you know your case number you can check your status on ceac check visa status and know if your papers arrive to the consulate.

CaribbeanLink for Medical for costs and whats needed etc.
For the medical you need the letter from consulate ( packet 4). Passport and the exact change of money.
If the letter hasnt arrivwd to your house , one months before your interview youve-mail the consulate and they will e-mail you the packet 4, you print it and with this letter you do the medical and pay at banco popular.

CaribbeanVaccines in DR
If you dont have proof of vacines she needs the vacines again at consultorio de visas.
Regular the medical exam is 320 or 280 dollars with the vaccines,, sometines is less all depent of the season.

IlovemymanFemaleDominican Republic2014-08-06 13:36:00
Caribbeandos pregunta???

CaribbeanDominican Republic Interview, Children supposed to come?
It isnt mandatory that the kids attent to the interview, you just take their birth certificate and passport, but many people take the kids to the interview too.
The rules says that they dont have to be present at the interview, but people go with the children at the interview.
When I was in my interview I saw kids there.

Caribbeanvaccine costs DR vs USA?
When your fiancee pay the medical, they will ask if she is going tto have the vacines here or at usa, be sure that she says here and pay both.
Some people dont understand and answer at usa, they only take the money for medical and then you have to pay at usa for vacines,
When she be at consultorios de visas, she need pay for both, medical and vacines.

IlovemymanFemaleDominican Republic2014-08-16 12:42:00

CaribbeanHow long does it take to get K-1 Visa issued in the Dominican Republic?

What is AP?

Ap= administrative processing.
That mean that you are in a black hole and you dont know what can happen.

CaribbeanHow long does it take to get K-1 Visa issued in the Dominican Republic?

Hello all...

Well I just returned from  Santo Domingo and our interview from yesterday.  WOW.... it was a crazy day... started with 6 am in line at the Embassy, it was a mad house and no organization. Once we passed the first step, security stopped me with contents in my purse.  I left my cell phone etc at the hotel, however had lotion and my headphones in my purse.  They made me throw away both items. Sooooo for those in the future taking less in is better.  Once through all the security the dreadful wait began.  We sat down until our number was called.  This was a short wait, until fingerprinting. WOW... that took forever and then you wait again.  Once our turn was called, a couple of hours later we were greeted by a very intimidating older white lady.  She would ask us questions in English and Spanish, however was not patient with us.  We were both extremely nervous, hungry and COLD.  Yes the embassy was FREEZING!!!! Anyway... she did her very best to get us to stumble, however we stood our ground.  My finance doesn't speak but a few words in English and I understand the Spanish better then I speak it.  Anyway, she stated she wanted further review.  As we wait nervously for another 2 hours until we were called to a small room separately to be asked very personal questions.  Mine were, do you use birth control? Do the two of you use protection during sexual encounters? wow...  Who does he live with? Do you ever stay at his home? He was asked the same questions as well as do I bring him gifts? His family gifts? What are our wedding plans? Do I have a dress? etc etc.  ok wellll that part is done.  We go back and sit in the waiting area, hours pass and now there are only a few people out of hundreds that entered with us left in the waiting area.  Finally, at 3 pm we are called back to window 19 with the same lady, who at least had a smile on her face. She was quite intimidating the first go around, however was pleasant and stated our visa was APPROVED!!!! So elated and relieved.  This has been quite the adventure with many ups/downs and emotions.  I am happy to say we are just waiting to have his visa in hand and we can continue this life adventure that we have chosen.

Not sure if there is any other advice I can offer other than eat before you go.  There is no snacks nor do they allow people to bring them.  No lotion, cell phones, earphones or unnecessary items should be taken with you.  If your spouse doesn't not speak your language or vice versa they really frown upon this.  Lastly, expect to be there ALL day, hopefully you will be in and out like others, but from experience it takes a physical and emotional toll on us sitting there all day long.  9 hours and 2 interviews later!!!

Hope my view and experience lends some help...

Congratulations in your approval.

CaribbeanHow long does it take to get K-1 Visa issued in the Dominican Republic?

Last week I had wrote an email to the embassy about the whereabouts of our visa, and they sent me a reply that stated that we should check the DOM EX carrier tracking number at the end of next week. I wonder if the person that wrote me knows that our visa is going to be shipped soon or not.

No the oerson who answer the e-mails doesnt know about the issuance of visas.
And in many times they dont know about what they are answer.
Sometimes they give wrong answers.
And when call you get more wrong answers too.
For example, in ready status says that your case is ready for a interview ....
But you have had your interview already, you call to ask what happen and they tell you that you need a new interview.
You explain them that you have had the interview already but they say : you need a new interview.
But that isnt truth, they say that because they read that in the status on ceac.
The people who work in the call deparment and at the e-mail deparment when people are in ap , they are useless they dont know what to answer.
Belive me I have 4 months in this and dealing with them.
