Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionWhere To Place Check(fee) In Pkg
Ok I have looked everywhere and cannot find what I'm looking for. I'm assembling my package to send out Tuesday and I wanted to know where do I place the check(payment) in the pkg? Can I just put the check in a separate envelope marked "payment" and use a paper clip to attach it to the front of my pkg or attach the envelope to the ACCO fastener on top? Thanks for any help!

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionDeal At Walgreens For Pics(until this Sat only)
I've already sent my I-751 in but I thought this might help a few people who are starting this process. Walgreens has a sale going on for those who don't know. Heck I didn't know it until I got an email from them today! Their collage prints are 80% off!!!(TODAY ONLY) Tomorrow deals are free 8x10. When I got my pics together for the I-751 I used collage prints. Easier to put a bunch of pics on one sheet. I paid full price, but non the less, Walgreens is pretty cheap. If you prefer the standard 4x6 prints, they are forever having a sale on those. I hope this helps anyone.

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussionkids and biometrics?
I also filed for me and my son and I got the biometrics letters on different dates. Also the appointment dates are different too. You can try calling them and see where the other letter is. Also see if you can have all biometrics appointments done on the same day. When I called about me and my son's appointments being on different dates and having them done the same day, all they would tell me is it is up to the office you go to and whether or not they are busy and can take my son the same day.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionWalkin Biometric appts in Atlanta???
Everyone has a different experience. I just went in Thursday to the office in Atlanta, but I had my appointment letter. I had my son with me too(he needed his bio done as well) but his appointment was for the 26th. They took my son in with me. The officer at the door was asking everyone for their appointment letters before he would let them in. So it is up to your wife if she wants to try and take a chance of getting in or not with no appointment letter.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionTrouble Amassing Evidence
I had the same problem with a few things. I live in my MIL's house and all the utilities are in her name, we have no health insurance, let alone any money for trips and stuff. What I did was get my MIL to write out an affidavit for us stating she owns the house, the utilities are in her name, plus all the extra stuff she put down stating she was present for our wedding, etc. You seem to have a good list of evidence. The cover letter is also a good idea. Gives them a list of what is in your package.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionRemoving Conditional and Confused

We are going to be applying to remove my conditional Nov 2010. I wanted to know if they ask for Affadavit of Support Form as well. I saw that someone submitted one with there package on there timeline. Wanted to know why? All I read was that we only had to send the Form to Remove Conditional, Proof we are still married, Copy of my Green Card, and the fee. I see that in most timelines it takes 5 months to recieve the new card in the mail. But if we have to submit all this 90 days before our 2 year anniversary my green card would be expired before I recieve my new one. So what do I do about that? Do we have to submit another Biometric?

Thanks for your help

Yasser

You don't need the affidavit of support form again. If you have any evidence such as utility bills, car insurance, life insurance, credit cards, joint bank account statements, lease/rent, cable bills, etc with both names, or showing the same address, also affidavits from friends family. You will get an extension letter before your biometrics and it is good for a year. So you will have to get another biometrics done. I hope this helps. If I forgot something, someone will mention it.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionTotal package size of the entire evidence
I think 300 pages is a bit over an overkill. I don't remember how many pages I sent, but I believe it was under 100 pages so you should be fine.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionUsing ACCO??
I used the ACCO fasteners. For the pictures, I made an 8x10 collage print on the Walgreens website. I was able to put 8-10 pictures on each collage. I had 4 pages of pictures and I put captions at the bottom. I used the ACCO fasteners at the tops of each page, that way they could read what each caption said for the pictures. Sorry I didn't take any pictures of what my package looked like before I sent it but I hope this helps.

I checked online for my case status because just getting 2 emails for my son and not for me seemed a little off, but hey, that's USCIS for ya. Anyways, it says I was approved as well. I won't do a happy dance until I have the card in my hand lol.

Congrats to all who got approved already. I'm still one of the last ones left. I figured I'd just say something because I have seen before, people worrying about not getting approved yet, then a few days later they get the email saying their case was approved. So I thought I'd give it a try lol.

I don't know if anyone else has had this problem, but I tried to check my status on the USCIS website and it says my receipt number is not valid. Now my son's receipt number went through fine and says it's in initial review. So how come my number isn't working? I triple checked to make sure I put it in right and I did, so what's the deal?

OK, nevermind. I think I figured out why it wasn't working. I used the receipt number off my biometrics letter instead and that worked. I don't know why the numbers are different, but they are.

I called the number on the bio letter and finally was able to talk to someone. He said he couldn't do anything for me over the phone and to just bring my son with me to my appointment(which is at 1pm) and they will let me know when I get there if they will take my son early or not. Depends on how busy they are I guess. Hopefully he will get his done same day. I'd hate to have to go back for 9am 4 days later. Atlanta traffic sucks early in the morning. Thanks for your help!

I asked on here the other day about my son needing a bio done again(he's 6 yrs old) and come to find out he does. I just got a letter in the mail today and his appointment is on 4/26 and mine is 4/22. Can I just bring him with me on the 22nd and his letter and ask them if they would give him an early bio? I thought kids under 14 didn't need to have this done again. Anyone know?

One quick question though. Does my son have to go for this too? He is 6 years old. I got a "receipt notice"(received $80 for biometrics) with his name on it today as well. I'm sure I read here on VJ that kids under 14 don't need to go. Just want to make sure. Thanks for any help.

Hi everyone,

I was just wondering if anyone else had this problem. I sent my pkg in on the 23rd. USCIS received it on the 26th (checked USPS site) and USCIS has yet to cash my check. I check my bank everyday. I haven't gotten a letter or nothing from them yet. I see so many people receiving something from USCIS within days. Am I just paranoid? You would think they would cash my check as soon as they get it.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionMinor children and biometrics
My son is 6 years old and he had to have his biometrics done. As far as what I have read and asked on here, all children need them done. When I was at the biometrics appointment there was another couple there with their 4 or 5 year old and he was having his done too. I don't know what visa they were going for but the child needed his biometrics done as well. I would print out everything you can on the USCIS website about children and biometrics and see if you can get another infopass appointment and speak to someone else. I know how frustrating it is to have to go back there, believe me, but if your step-daughter needs the biometrics done, you do everything you can to get it done. That way, as you said, you didn't just abandoned the card process. I hope this helps.

Philippinesvaccination?, can i get some in advance?
You should. The sooner the better. I had all mine done that I needed before I went for my medical exam. If you don't have all the required vaccinations when you go for the exam, they will give you a list of what is required and make you come back.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK-1 Visa Help
Hello,

I just had a few questions about the K-1 Fiance Visa process. I have been looking on this site and have found some very helpful information, but I still had a few questions. I live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and my fiance lives in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. I recieved my package in the mail, along with a check-list that needs to be sent back to the Consular in Montreal, Quebec. I'm still getting my things together before I send the forms back. Since the DS-156 form needs to be filled out online and printed in duplicate, does the DS-156K need to be hand filled in? I didn't see anyother DS form on the website besides the DS-156. Also, does anyone know how much the medical exam costs in Canada? I'll be having it done in Toronto. I also have a 3 year old son who will need the exam done as well. Will I have to pay the full price of the exam, even though he will not need a chest x-ray done? Does my son have to be at the interview with me when I go? If I'am approved for my Visa, how long of a wait is it to recieve the Visa in hand? One last question, should I photo copy our passports, birth certificates, police report and any other documents? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK-2 Visa
My son's has a K-2 Visa and me a K-1. He was 4 years old when we filed. Just list the child on the forms. As the other person said, she will need a passport for them to put the visa in. Also, she probably won't be required to attend the interview. I did not have to bring my son. I don't know if it is different in other countries, but in Canada he did not have to go.

It wouldnt be impossible for me to get my license here, but my interview is in a week and I'm hoping to move within 2 weeks after that, so theres no point in getting my drivers license now. Plus, its a lot more money to get it here, than it is in the USA.

I'll be moving to Conyers Kathryn.

CanadaWhen To Get Married?
Well I talked to my fiancee and we're both still up in the air about a set date now. We're going to see what happens at the interview. I wanted to buy plane tickets like a month ago, but my future mother-in-law told me just to wait until after the interview. Which makes sense. Guess I need to have that reassurance that I've been approved before I go spending money on plane tickets that are non re-fundable. So the day after my interview, I'm getting our tickets. As far as a honeymoon, we don't know what we're doing about that either.

Hey piosenka. Let me know who to look for and I'll see you there!! Not sure what I'm wearing, but I can get back to you about that one lol. CanadaWhen To Get Married?
Thats a whole other thing that I wanted to get into, but figured that it could wait. I never did get my drivers license. I said for years that I would, but never did. I always had public transportation to use and no car, so I just put it off for all these years. Well now that I'm moving to Georgia, I need a drivers license. Where my fiancee lives, you need a car to get around. The closest gas station is about a 30 minute walk away and I just can't do that all the time. Am I going to have to wait until my AOS is approved before I can even get my license? I tried looking on the DMV website several times and all it says it something about needing proof of immigration, or something along those lines. I'm guessing that means my AOS huh?
PfcsBabyFemaleCanada2007-10-10 09:27:00
CanadaWhen To Get Married?
Well we were planning for the January wedding date solely because Christmas is coming up and with these new fees for the AOS, we'll be paying $1610. Thats for me and my son. I don't want to have next to nothing for Christmas. We'll be getting married at the court house, then go back to his parents house for a small get together. Later in the future we'll have the traditional ceremony when we have more money to do that. I'll talk to him tonight and let him know what all I found out about this. Thanks again everyone for your info. It really does help.

CanadaWhen To Get Married?
Hey y'all,

I'm thinking way ahead again, but I like to know what I'm doing before I go do it. Only 2 more weeks till my interview and granted I get approved, I plan on moving to the US on or before November 15th. I want to be there before Thanksgiving wink.gif Me and my fiancee were planning on waiting until the 1st week of January to get married, then send for my AOS immediately after that. With Christmas coming soon, then his birthday in February, we figured, something inbetween would be best, but I have doubts now. Not with the marriage, but with the date. I know I'll have to wait at least 2 weeks to apply for a SS# after I arrive there, but should we get married right after that, or just wait till the date we have set now? I'm worried about the visa expiring (90 day period) before my AOS is approved. Does that even matter? I just don't know how it all works with the AOS. I always thought that it had to be approved before the 90 days, but after reading some posts, I see that it can take months to get approved for your AOS. Any help would be appreciated.

CanadaI'm totally freaking out over this DS-156K form
Ok, I posted this question on another thread, but no one answered, so I thought I'd try again.
I think I sent back my DS-156K when I mailed back my pkt 3 to MTL. All I can seem to find is 2 copies of that completed form. I went searching on VJ for items on the checklist that were to be sent out and came across a topic talking about these forms. Someone had posted that if you sent the DS-156K back with the checklist, that its no big problem because of the wording in the directions, and they were sure that people get it messed up all the time. Here's a link to that post if I'm not making any sense lol.

http://www.visajourn...mp;hl=checklist

So I shouldn't have to worry about already sending in my DS-156K right? I got copies I can bring in with me. There's no change on the forms that I need to do. Any help would be appreciated.
