K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsI-129F approved per Tier 2 IO conversation

Good evening fellow VJ'ers!  At 8:00 pm CST tonight (Aug 8) I had a conversation with a Tier 2 IO.  Our NOA1 is March 8 and we were transferred from VSC on July 10 to TSC.  Per the conversation we were approved on July 18.  I'm confused because the uscis website still shows "Initial Review" and I have yet to receive the hardcopy NOA 2 in the mail.  I must admit I'm not sure how long it takes to receive the hardcopy, but it was mailed July 18 according to the T2 IO.  Also, the IO did say there have been technical difficulties with the website, which may explain the lack of update.  I want to feel "jump out of my skin" excited, but I'm hesitant because of the lack of update/hardcopy.  I want to update our timeline, but I will wait until I have the hardcopy NOA 2.  Has anyone else experienced the same or similar?

We are feeling the pain as well...March 8 NOA 1...transferred to TSC July 10 and website still has us in "intitial review"...i talked to a Tier 2 IO today and he said our approval was "ordered" on the 18th of July?!? #######?!?!?! I'm not sure what that means but he said we "should" hear something this month...not holding my breath...

I'm in the same boat. I talked to 2 different T2 IO's and the first said we were approved July 18th and the other said our approval was "ordered." Whatever that means. Needless to say the website still shows initial review and I have received no email/texts. Hope we all hear something soon.

I haven't received an email/hardcopy of NOA2 but today I received an email saying our approved case has shipped from TSC. Anyone else experience the same? Will the NOA2 hardcopy still arrive?

We were also transferred to TSC from VSC and our NOA 1 is March 8. I talked to 2 different Tier 2 IO's and one said we were approved on July 18th but didn't know when we would receive the NOA 2. The other said our approval was "ordered" on the 18th and said we "should" receive NOA 2 this month. Needless to say, we are still waiting.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPOE documents

Hello VJ!

My fiance will be entering the country on 29th of December in Houston, TX and I'm wondering if there are any forms she needs to bring other than what the embassy has given her in the envelope?  I just keep hearing of horror stories at POE's during interviews where the beneficiary's are asked to provide documents besides the ones in the envelope, and this causing long and drawn out POE interviews.  Thank you for any info you may have for me VJ!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-134 Supporting Information, do you think this is enough?

I was in a similar situation, I graduated in May and started a new job in May also.  My fiance's interview was in October and for the I-134 I only brought A & B of the supporting documents and the consular never even asked about it and approved us without any issue.

The very best of luck on your continuing journey together.  It was such a good day when section 3 of DOMA was demolished.  Same sex couples should have been given the same rights long ago.

Just a question on your petition.  You sent a number of photos but what did you send to show that you have met in the last 2 years (obviously, I know you have been in a relationship for the last 10 years).  As you have presumably driven back and forth over the border, you don't have airline tickets/boarding passes like those of use that travel 4000 miles!

They can check how many times and when they  crossed the border specially since they required USCs the use of a passport or passport card to cross. The Mexican national probably had a border card.

I have been with my fiance for 10 years, 10 wonderful years. I can't say it hasn't been tough, but I think I have had it easy compared to other people. I live in El Paso, TX, which is just a border hop to Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, where my fiance lives. Jumping back and forth on a daily basis has been hard, but I would do it all over again in a heartbeat if I had to. The day section 3 of DOMA was demolished I was with my fiance. I sat staring at the TV in disbelief. I was scared, excited, happy, and nervous all at the same time. I started working on the I-129F application that same day.

Hi:

I was in that situation for about the same amount of time, same cities :-). My wife got an H1B and then we moved to Conroe, Tx where we were living together but still worrying about H1B coming to an end. DOMA down  and we went to Iowa and got married on August 7, 2013. We finally sent the papers on Oct 1. Hopefully all is going to be well for both of us. I miss the sunsets :-)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPolice Certificate for K1

Thank you.  That is what we assumed, that there had to be something available....we'll research further into this.  Thanks again!

You usually request that from the state where you're residing. This is an example for what to do to request a Police Certificate from the state of Chihuahua:

http://etramites.chi...s.asp?Id=1-HPYA

Try using "Certificado de no antencedentes penales de  (State)" in a search engine.

neska2FemaleMexico2013-10-05 22:05:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPolice Certificate for K1

Then also on the same website it says that Police Certificates are not required for Peru and Police Certificates are unavailable for Mexico.  Any suggestions on what to do, if anything?

They are available for Mexico. Every state has their own and there's also like a national one:

http://www.pgr.gob.m...registrales.asp

but I'll try to be completely sure that she needs one before going into the whole thing of getting it.

USCIS Service CentersCurrent SRC Processing Date

We had a similar situation. In fact, many applicants experience that long wait while others who applied AFTER you did seem to fly by. Out of desperation, we got our congressman to send the embassy a "congressional email". Though there were still 3 phases left for her visa to go through that usually takes several weeks, she had her visa within 3 days! Apparently the embassy staff hates congressional emails. I guess it looks bad on their record, so they try to follow it with a speedy visa issuance to show they're doing their jobs. Who knows what the real reason is. Anyway, it's worth a shot at a "congressional email" from your congressman.

FYI, called them today 6/13/2014 and they are currently processing 12/3/2013.

164 days since NOA1 and sometimes not so patiently waiting for a change in status, considering many that applied after mine have already actioned.

I selected a generic enough topic to keep this going as others call...  Tried the link on VJ that claims to supply this info but it's dead.

ChinaGuangzhou Interview Dates?

I'm actually glad to hear that I'm not the only one seeing a blank calendar. I've been seeing it for 3 days now. When I first saw it, I was very frustrated because we have been urgently waiting for our P4 communication, and when we finally got it, we thought the end of our separation would be very soon. Desperate to find out if the blank calendar wasn't just a computer glitch on my end, I searched for a number to call and found one here: http://ustraveldocs....n-contactus.asp

I called the US number and, amazingly, a real person answered. "Jen" was her name. She went to the calendar page on her computer and said she saw the same thing. She was very kind in her speech, but I could tell she was not very knowledgeable about the inside information as to why there were no available dates. I hope there's no political "curtain" being raised in China causing this interview scheduling problem. The news about the stability of China's economy and the ill will between the US and China recently has me somewhat worried that this scheduling delay might be related. Maybe I'm just paranoid, but I can't live without my future wife, so I feel a little panicky about the whole thing. If anyone has any information that can rule out the political "curtain" possibility, please let me know.

Also, before we ever saw the blank calendar, my fiancee had a terrible time paying the visa fee. I don't have a Chinese debit card, so she had to pay it herself (with money I gave her during my fifth and last trip a month and a half ago). She has two Chinese debit cards and neither one of them worked when she tried to pay using their online method. She went to her bank to find out why and they told her there's nothing wrong, that she should be able to do online transactions. She doesn't have a printer, so printing the "advice slip containing CGI Reference Number" as instructed before going to a CITIC bank to pay in person would have been very difficult for her. So I suggested she just go to the CITIC bank around the corner from her home and explain her situation. Fortunately they went ahead and allowed her to pay the visa fee without the document, so she gave them the CGI REFERENCE NUMBER I gave to her and paid the visa fee. When she returned to our video chat , I went to the "Confirm Receipt" page, just before the calendar step, to enter the receipt number and found that the CITIC bank that she paid the visa fee to had already entered the receipt number for us. So I jumped to the calendar page and saw the infamous message "There are currently no appointments available". That started our multi-hour panic session. The worst 5 minutes of that time was when we decided to confirm that I had given her the correct CGI REFERENCE NUMBER. I had, in fact, given her the correct number, but here's what happened next. Since I was already on the calendar page, I decided to go back to the page that showed me this number. It showed no fee was owed and displayed what I thought was the same number it had given me before, 620114496050. But little did I know at the time, the number being displayed was 620014496050. The 4th digit had been changed from "1" to "0", but I did not know this number was different, so I told her the number I saw and the 5 minute horror began! It wasn't the number I had given her before, so she immediately screamed and started crying. We video chat 3 or 4 times a day, so we could also see each other. My heart was broken to see her crying like this. It was the first time I had seen her so unhappy. It was terrible for both of us. The bank had warned her several times that if the number was wrong, they could not give her a refund. In her view 1488 RMB is a lot of money and she had worked so hard to get this paid and, suddenly, we were faced with having given the bank the wrong number. After about 5 minutes of trying to figure out what to do, I decided to look at the screen shot I had saved earlier before she paid. That was when I found that the 4th digit was different. So we realized that she had given the bank the correct number after all and she began to settle down and return to normal, somewhat. She was very tired and stressed out over this whole fiasco of trying the get the visa fee paid. So was I. Being in America, all this was during the nighttime for me, so I was very tired.

Anyway, telling you VJers my story made me feel better. Again, if anyone has any information that can rule out the political "curtain" possibility, please let me know. Thanks all!

Ok. Sounds good. I didn't know who the mediator was until now. I'm still a newbie so I'm still learning. I have a feeling I'll be active on this site long after my honey has arrived in America! Thanks for all you do!

The site software automatically selects the title of the earlier posted topic as the default topic when duplicate threads are merged - we don't have a choice in that.  I can edit the topic title to what the report forum shows listed as the other title, but I don't know if there will be room for both titles.  I'll see what I can do.

In the future, rather than starting a new thread because you don't like the title of the old thread, please ask a moderator to change the title for you instead of starting a whole new thread. It is a lot easier on everyone concerned smile.png .

I wish you would have merged the Titles of the threads too. I started the other one because I did not like the title "Notarial Certificates". It has no reader appeal. The other title did. Can you change the post title to include both titles? Thanks.

Duplicate threads have been merged together so all of the information is contained in one location

Thanks, Fred. Yeah, I'm just learning about these "white books". My girl actually has 4 of them, Birth, criminal, not married and divorce decree. I just never knew they were called that. I also didn't know they are standard official documents issued to follow specific rules and standards as set by the Chinese government. I don't know why, but she and I never really discussed these details. She just said she had these documents and left it at that. Everything was fine until I began to compare her documents to what was defined in the K1 Instructions. They seemed to be not quite in alignment so I began to ask questions. Anyway, everything seems to be in order now.smile.png

Hello all seasoned VJers! I have a situation that only you can answer.

We have the English translation of my fiance's Birth Certificate and this translation has a "Notarial Certificate" associated with it to certify the translation, but this document itself is written in both Chinese and English (not just English), issued at the same time by the same entity, but only the Chinese copy has the notary seal. So, here's my question. Even though the same entity issued the English translation of the "Notarial Certificate", does this second Chinese document still need to have its own "Notarial Certificate" written only in English to eliminate the creation of more Chinese documents needing to be translated? My thought is that, since the "Notarial Certificate" was issued in both Chinese and English by the same translation service at the same time, no second translation "Notarial Certificate" is required. Is this correct?

Thanks a million. We're headed to Guangzhou at the end of July for her Aug 6th interview! So we need to tidy up all her documents. We appreciate your help!

ChinaScheduling the interview using CGI Stanley

No, that's not it. For those of us who've been trying for weeks to get a date, we've done a lot of research on this site. Many of us discovered the system after a lot of self-education and downright creativity. I could just lay it all out for you here, but that wouldn't be fair to others who've been trying so hard already. If everyone knew about this system, then the system wouldn't work. So it's got to be a matter of doing your homework to discover or even design the system yourself. This "interview date lottery" will only be won by the smart, determined and diligent. I know, it's not fair. But CGI Stanley has created this monster and the rest of us have to live with it. Unfortunately, it's "survival of the fittest". The main reason I'm telling you all this much is to encourage you to not give up. Be determined! If you love your fiance as much as I love mine, you will do anything to bring her to your own country so you can be together always. I knew that I would die if I could not get my fiance into the United States to be with me, so out of panic and desperation, I started working harder on this puzzle than I've worked on anything before in my life. The trick is research and creative thought. Read what others are saying and doing. After 2 or 3 weeks of hitting the calendar with no luck, contact me again. I'll lay it all out for you then. I plan to do that for everyone who has already put a lot of time into this game. I just hope CGI Stanley eventually realizes that they are causing some applicants to just give up. I really hope that is not their plan!

Good luck!

Yeah! When you get to the point of scheduling your interview date, hopefully the calendar will return to what people were seeing in April and May. Plenty of dates. If not, you'll have real battle on your hands, There's a system we found that worked perfectly. I suggest doing your homework early and find out what that system is. Otherwise you'll end up like a lot applicants. They're still waiting to schedule their interview date even after weeks of trying.

Glad you got your interview appointment, rawlsca! You were getting me pretty nervous there for a minute. Hah. Best of luck. smile.png

I have a little confusion about what the "priority date" actually is. I thought it was the date listed on the email letter we received from the US Consulate General telling us we can now schedule an interview. It says "Your Priority Date : 22 OCT 2012" Is this right?

Hey! i just saw your posts. you have an August 5th schedule date???!!! that means they've released some August dates. When she scheduled that date, how many August days did she see available? Just Aug 5th, or was there a lot of days available?

Thanks! --- Clint & Hong

No, I did email them first but they said they hadn't received the p3 info...then later this morning I found out she had simply gone to the cgi stanley website and was able to book the date..after trying for over a week. It may have to do with processing the p3 and its possible that there was some confusion about the process...

BTW...the P3 was sent over a week ago, fee paid etc...the email was answered today, yesterday china time and the appt was scheduled same day
