K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	APRIL '08 Vermont K-1 Filers	His job - as he works for the police in Chile - won't allow him to leave the country for 15 days until after he is "dismissed." If he gets the visa, then that will be his last day - I am going to pray every day that October 1st brings good news!!! So I'm hoping he will in America by October 17th.. It is really hard "convincing," everyone that this is the best thing for me, and that he isn't just after a "green" card (I live close to where you - I'm in Stamford, CT <where the "green card" issue occurs all too often>). All of my family and friends are pretty honest with me, not that I necessarily appreciate that all the time, and not only do they tell me to be careful because of you never know of his hidden agendas but they also think it would be soo much easier if I just married a local person, who knew everyone, had a job here, spoke the language, etc (which I had a bf for 8 yrs before I met him). It would be of course, but I'm not in love with anyone else. Which I bet you feel the same way. I do have to admit - one thing that I often do do, which I know is terrible, is when people are saying negative things to me, sometimes some of them stick in my head and I call him and ask him these ridiculous questions... Do you ever feel like it's you and him against everyone? Hahah, not saying that everyone is against me either, but I do think that everyone is just worried and trying to look out for me, which I bet is the same for you. And I don't know about you, but Felipe hasn't been able to visit so no one knows him, and all they see is a man who I met in November on vacation now trying to come to America. Where I know, just like you, he would prefer me to move to Chile (he's asked several times). You just have to know that when everyone meets him they will love him.. And it's hard for everyone to make judgements when they don't know him.. Once he gets here and if then everyone is still rude to him, I would agree to put some distance between you and them, but until then I think everyone is just trying to look out for you. The department of state or the American Embassy in Chile? But then should I be receiving a letter from ? stating my interview date? I plan on going to the interview with him so the sooner I find out the better. #2 - the Affidivat of Support forms - Will I be receiving a letter stating what I need to fill out? Quick question - I just spoke to NVC and they said they sent my petition to Chile on August 1st, I am trying to track it via DHL - EXP 1 AUG 2008A as a reference but nothing is coming up, I changed the dates but still nothing is coming up. "No shipments found. Please revise criteria and resubmit" I'm sure that there were other shipments and I am probably just doing something wrong. ?? K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	APRIL '08 Vermont K-1 Filers	Ok maybe now that I received my approval I am getting paranoid of what could go wrong - haha, I know real positive. I am really nervous that the Embassy will deny us because of no common language.. He speaks spanish fluently and hardly any English. I speak English and not so good Spanish. We do speak for hours on the phone because the Spanish I do speak he understands (one of those odd couple things), and I can understand him if he speaks slow enough. We have spent 3 vacations together and between the Spanish I speak and the pocket dictionary I possess, the language was not a problem at all. I really wanted to go to the interview with him because the prevoius two times that he went for a tourist visa (after him and I met and had my name on the forms when he applied) he got denied, for the pure basis they did not think he would return to Chile. I can't explain the joy I feel - but no one will answer their phone!! hahaha.... Especially him, I probably have just called him 10 times and I definitely don't want to tell him via text.. Now it is just down to doing the rest of the paper work!!! I hope everyone has as good of day me and receive your approvals too. I really thought the waiting of this really was going to break me, I feel the pain and anxiousness that everyone feels while they await the approval, but when you get that approval - my goodness, it's great! hahaha... I am going down to Chile again on Thursday to visit my fiance and would have loved to give him an update but it looks like it won't be until I get back that I will hear anything.. I was getting optimistic with previous petitions and the quick turn around but now it looks like the process has definitely slowed down. You don't need the approval notice until after your fiance is here, you have married and you are filling for AOS. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	K1 Visa approved today!!!!!!!!	My fiance got the official word of approval today and was told he would have his visa by next tuesday! It was weird because he went to the interview on Friday without one of the documents they required. He was supposed to have the document several days before the interview and found out the night before that he would not have it until AFTER the interview. Nothing like feeling stressed out until the very last minute. He called me Friday morning, after the interview, to tell me he saw the word "aprovado" on two different pieces of paper, but I didn't want to post anything to the vj group until I knew for sure. Aprovodo = approved!!!!!! I posted what he told me about the experience in the reviews section. And for those of you female petitioners out there who are older than your fiance...they did not make an issue of it at all! Thanks everyone! In some countries is't quite common for the police to turn a blind eye to spouse/child abuse or even spousal rape. Heck in some countries it isn't even illegal. How was it a red flag, ummmmmmm only in it being the first step in the VAWA "unwritten" handbook as a way to stay in this country!!!! But sure, let him go ahead and slap her around like she expected, then he won't have to pay for her flight home, she will be able to stay right here and he won't have a cheating problem on his hands anymore. After hour, she was called to the window.. She was told she was approved , go pay Domesa !!! Bella and the twins called me all excited.. Finally, what a relief.. The strange thing that happened was the embassy kept the original birth certificates and baptismal certificates and the certified translations.. She asked to have them returned and was told it is better she go get all new documents.. Do they have any idea how difficult it was to obtain the documents to begin with.. geesh.. She arrived at the embassy this morning and turned over the addition documents they requested.. They then asked for the passports.. She thought the embassy had kept them from the first interview.. She was told they returned them to her.. Well long story short, she wasn't aware the passports were in with all the other and original documents from the first interview at her house ... arrggg They told her to come back tomorrow morning with the passports.. She asked if her visa was approved, and was told maybe.. She asked again.. they told her it was a very maybe.. unreal! When she called me today she wasn't sure if she should be excited or continue crying.. I told her to relax, I love her very much.. Mistakes happen.. We'll get through this and one day look back and laugh about it.. I then went on to tell her how very proud I am of her for dealing with all the B.S. she has had to endure between all the different Colombian agencies and now the embassy.. She has done a amazing job.. I don't remember if I had mentioned it earlier, but for the past 3 months Bella and her daughter have been going through the hell they call the medical system of Colombia.. The same day of the interview, her daughter was getting the results of her biopsy. the results came back as inconclusive for breast cancer.. Her daughter will now be going to surgery June 5th. We had planned for Bella to come here over the Memorial day weekend.. But now we need to postpone this also.. I will be flying down to get them and bring them here.. She has never flown or been outside of Bogota.. I just went online to look the airfare, but two weeks later.. Tickets are over $230 dollars apiece more, times 5 people.. I can't wait till we are all together again.. I want to go to a nice restaurant raise a glass.. and a giant WooHoo.. everyone is healthy, We are all home here together.. And all is well.. We very much appreciate them and wish everyone better luck than we had.. The Consulate officer reviewed all our documents and found they were all in order. The problems started arising when it came to her daughters the twin 14 year old girls. We have the certified birth certificates with Bella name on them as the mother.. We also have the baptismal certificates listing Bella as the mother.. This apparently isn't enough for the Consulate officer. They are requesting proof. Specifically they want to see photo's and documents from when the twins were "6" years old.. Not 7, not 5, but 6 !! Then the questions started about our relationship. Bella had with her photo's, conversation transcripts, my plane tickets, hotel receipts etc. and I DHL'ed a new letter of intent to marry Bella with a date of a week ago.. She was asked, "did you know he has been married twice"? She said umm, yes, they asked, "are you sure you knew this"? She said "yes, I know, why?" No response, next question.. "What is Joe's best friends name?" She answered "Joe" ( his name is Joe also).. Then Consulate officer than said, "ok, but what is his whole name/proper name?" She did not know.. She was than asked what I do for work, she told them.. They then made her get very specific about what exactly do I do.. She told them I am a operating engineer in construction and I work with heavy equipment. She was not able to get more specific than that.. They then asked when was the last time I was in Bogota. She answered, February 10th. They then asked what we did.. She gave me a heart attack when she said she answered that we stayed in the hotel only and did nothing but make love..lol She actually answered we went to dinners and where, and took the kids to the amusement park, etc.. They then told her she needs to present more "proof of relationship".. Bella has the information and photo's of the twins at 6 yrs. old.. I will be making more transcripts more copies of hotel receipts, and photo's, etc.. The next problem is how do you make the appointment to present the addition requested information? She was told she needs to buy a pin from the bank for each person at 50,000 peso per person and then present the pins to the embassy.. I haven't a clue what that's about.. They then told her that would take more time.. It would be better if I gave the information to my lawyer and have him get the new appointment.. I haven't used a lawyer for this.. Soooo, again, I haven't a clue how "I" can get the appointment scheduled.. So I will be here doing more research .. Again I want to thank everyone for their well wishes.. We also want to wish everyone still waiting, very speedy approvals.. I called the NVC today and got our BGT number.. They say they received our file yesterday the 17th. I will call again and ask if it has been forwarded to Bogota yet in a couple of days.. I could have package 3 faxed and mailed to the embassy before the end of the month.. If all goes well, I am hoping we can get on the late April or early May interview list.. When I returned here from Colombia and first filed our application, we were expecting a late September interview.. Now it is possible we can be together in May.. How Great Is That !!
