IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	March 2010 CR1 filers	After 3 touches (July 9, 10, and 12), I received NOA2 in the postal mail today. Never received any type of email or text message regarding our case. The fact that the USCIS website still said "initial review" after the touches was driving me crazy. I don't mind waiting at my spot in line like everyone else, but I can't stand not knowing WHAT is happening. In all the feelings of happiness, I still don't think it's fair that we, March 19 NOA1 Marchers, got NOA2 before others here that had NOA1 dates well before ours. My wife and I are praying for you all, keep the faith Marchers. congrats Josh....... Don't worry about us, were just behind you and looking for you to show us how quick it's gonna go. Glad to here there is more approvals this week from VJ. Everyone keep in mind that who knows how many of the thousands that entered in March are VJ members...... maybe most were the beginning of the month and now we are going to have to put a dvr on the "igor list" to track the last 15 approvals. Right now they're playing poker until the general Manager shows up. Maybe their using Petitions instead of Chips Maybe I should have sent a box of chocolates with my petition Had I known the process would have been this slow and random, I certainly would have paper clipped some McDonald breakfast Gift certificates to my I-130. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Aproval hard copy received in the mail today	He can get his police certificate and his Non-impediment now - I would suggest getting the police cert. by rush order - If you come down to the regional forums, there are several Yardies at the same stage as you, and many recent interviews who can guide you - There is a great thread about emailing the DS-230 - Don't wait on the package 3 to gather your forms, many in JA never receive it - Yes, he needs to sign the DS-230 and have it ready to return to the embassy for when your case is received.	sus	Female	Jamaica	2009-10-12 07:14:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Denied Visa's for I129F	Contact MrsPalmer - same situation, they married and then refiled for the CR-1 after the ban was up. Her husband is here now. Well that changes things from what you posted originally. Your Petition was not denied, his application for a Visa was denied. It makes a difference. Past drug use is waiverable if it wasn't in the recent past, was experimental use and didn't continue. Look in the Waivers Forums or go over to immigrate2us.net as they specialize in waivers. Jamaica is a whole different animal when it comes to this - We have two members with similar circumstances who were denied, and denied the ability to file a waiver - the only option is to wait out the ban and refile.	sus	Female	Jamaica	2010-06-22 08:51:00

You might want to email the embassy and ask them to email packet 3 - come down to the Yardie thread, there are a ton of people who can give you guidance - Many people in JA never receive packet 3 in the mail - Best to do what you can do to gather everything together and try to get the interview scheduled.	sus	Female	Jamaica	2010-09-01 13:14:00

Its not like he can't get it later if we need to. Oye ve yes its early get over it. People try to save you money - if you want to needlessly spend money to get the police report twice - more power to you. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	PolIce Certificate Process	In Jamaica - I believe they are valid for 6 months - However, there was a recent situation (I think it was June) where people that had interviews were blue slipped and told to get a new police report - due to the whole Dudus / corruption / etc.... issues going on - I completely understand being anxious to move things along - but you are way early in the police record - start having him gather the other stuff he needs - Make sure he has documentation of his medical records, get the needed shots at a clinic if he doesn't have them - Get his school records together, get letters of references from employers,................ lots of other things to be organized. Also, look at the timelines here - there are people who filed K1 through Vermont with an NOA1 of early September still waiting - So that's 6 months already, even if they got approved today, it's at least another month or two to interview............ If it's a US lawyer, send him a fax, email, and letter by certified mail - give him a deadline for response (less than a week at this point) and if no response go straight to the bar association and file a grievance - If it's a JA lawyer, good luck with that one! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Noa1 APPROVED	PLEASE IGNORE PREVIOUS POST! YAY for you! Now comes the hard work After the NOA2 your paperwork will be forwarded to the NVC for additional processing before being sent to the Consulate Below are a few things that you could work on while you are in Jamaica, the fees/expenses add up so at least if you start early you can budget/pace yourself The police report is actually good for one year so you can go ahead and get that. Although the medical is also good for a year as well you cannot do it until you receive your interview letter which must accompany you when going for the medical (Police Report Cost> $2000 within 2 weeks $4000 within 1 week) Your fiance/fiancee will also need to go to the Registrar General to acquire a non-impediment certificate if they have never been married. If previously married, they will need to get a copy of the marriage certificate and divorce decree (Cost> Non-impediment $5,000, Marriage - $650, Divorce - Unknown) Additionally, if you have misplaced immunization records or there are any immunizations which were not done you may want to either have it replaced or acquire the required shots. On your end you can start compiling the items you will need for the I-134 Affidavit of Support (AOS) and proof of the relationship. Items you may need for the AOS include 2 years tax returns, W-2s, employment letter, bank statements, and other proof of assets. For proof of relationship call logs/history is good from what I've read here. If your partner has digicel as their carrier you can email digicel's customer care with your name and PUK2 to get 3 months of call history (to be picked up at the the local office within 7 days). Ahhhh, what else...I guess the normal pictures, proof of travel, and anything else which shows that there is a actual relationship is helpful. I hope this information is helpful. Don't get too bogged down on your trip running around and mek sure yu enjou yuselfB-) Wish I was going home too:blush: Definitely a great reply - The one change I would make is about the police report that I bolded - People should not get the police report too far in advance in JA - even though technically it's good for 1 year, there was a situation a few months back where the embassy required people to get police reports dated after a certain date (some of which, it was actually their interview date so they got blue slipped and had to go back.) I read that Jamaica required all police certificates to be re-done after June 24, 2010 so that wouldn't apply to him. However, I think you are right - better to have him get the updated one just in case. Thanks for your advice! More than likely, they are going to request an updated police certificate - if you read back through posts, there was a point recently where JA required people to get one dated as of a certain date (some of whom it was their actual interview date). K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	VISA DENIED...NEW LIGHT	You need to get to the bottom of why they felt you didn't have enough proof - that typically isn't a reason for the denial - as for the ban, there is no getting around that - just be grateful the law changed and it is one year, not three as it was in the past. As for getting married - Yes, you can marry now in JA and file an I-130 - You just have to time it so that his interview on that will be after the date of the 1 year ban - there are other members who did that and their spouse is now in the US.	sus	Female	Jamaica	2012-09-12 19:04:00

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Vermont Service Center Wait Time	We filed way back in July and still haven't heard anything. We need to give it to the end of this week (beginning of February) and our Attorney will contact the USCIS and see what's going on. You will get through it, all you need to do is be realistic and get through each month like you normally would. To me now is the worst part. I am excited because we are close to hearing something (I hope) but feel anxious in case we get a RFE or something is wrong. You also feel disheartened when you see people receive their NOA1 and then receive their NOA2 in the same month, when we have been waiting over 6 months! I have gotten to except the system, just very frustrating! This process will definitely teach you patience. Good luck in your journey! I feel confused everytime I see the incredible differences in waiting times. It would be one thing of the average woudl be say 8 months. Thanks but I am seeing that the average time here is 6-7 months just to get approval. SO Yours is the first I have see that has been 5 months. Except for those from Haiti that tend to get approved in 2 months! So I guess there is no trick or rhyme or reason on when or who gets approved. I imagine the VSC being overhwelmed with many different kind of paper work to approve. So in my mind I imagine a worker there with stacks of paperwork around them and they just drawn a file , like a raffle ticket, and that is the file they work hard on in that moment. I saw the average for noa2 to uk interview was running at 56 days, gosh if thats true it'd be awesome. I just want to note that not every embassy works this way. Some embassy's has the petitioner doing the medical right before the interview. For example for napoli, they schedule the medical for you the day before your interview. SO pelase check the embassy's before you schedule the medical. NVC sent the petition to London last Thursday. I called NVC last week and got our case number, so he's going to call Knightsbridge Doctors and set up the medical ASAP. I've been looking to see if there is any way to track a K1 case after it leaves the States.... no luck. Anybody know if there is a way to check the status after the paperwork gets to the Embassy in London? ...or how long it takes for the actual interview once the Packet 3 materials are returned?
