DJ isn't tapered...lil bush..that's why I like it. I haven't seen Omarion's haircut. But Trey Songz

DJ's hair texture suits the cut - he has Indian and Spanish in his family, his hair is so soft with a nice wave - And I agree about Trey Songz

Funny hair story from this trip - We picked up DJ's son in the am - DJ had his clippers, and started to cut his hair - he got it to sort of a Mohawk when the clippers died - so he had to go to school like that, cause we were out of time - it didn't look that bad. Not 10 minutes after he left, there was a knock on the door - He was standing there with tears - his friends were telling him he looked like Shebada, and the teacher told him to go home and get a rag to cover it

Jamaican Duck Hunter

A Jamaican went hunting one day in Georgia and bagged three ducks. He put
them in the bed of his pickup truck and was about to drive home when he was
confronted by an ornery game warden who didn't like Jamaicans.

The game warden ordered the Jamaican to show his hunting license, and the
Jamaican pulled out a valid Georgia hunting license.

The game warden looked at the license, then reached over and picked up one
of the ducks, sniffed its butt, and said, "This duck ain't from Georgia.
This is a Alabama duck. You got a Alabama huntin' license, boy?" The
Jamaican reached into his wallet and produced an Alabama hunting license.

The game warden looked at it, then reached over and grabbed the second duck,
sniffed its butt, and said "This ain't no Georgia duck. This duck's from
Florida.. You got a Florida license?" The Jamaican reached into wallet and
produced a Florida hunting license.

The warden then reached over and picked up the third duck, sniffed its butt,
and said, "This ain't no Georgia duck. This here duck's from North Carolina.
You got a North Carolina huntin' license?" Again the Jamaican reached into
his wallet and brought out a North Carolina hunting license.

The game warden was extremely frustrated at this point, and he yelled at the
Jamaican "Just where the hell are you from???!!!"

The Jamaican turned around, bent over, dropped his pants, and said, "Yu
tel mi whey mi fram - yu a de expert."

I am back = and uploading pics on FB now, but I have about 200, so it will take me a while! The trip was so awesome - ended up going to two weddings, since DJ's brother got married when we were in Portland! They rushed to throw it together so that they could marry while I was there. I so do not want to be home :(

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaCosta Rica K1 Fiancee with Child Embassy Interview

No I don't think so.. the school did nto even inquire as to his immigration status... just enrolled him..

There are so many different types of non-immigrant visas and ALL of them only allow you to stay in the country for a certain period of time.... trying to draw a correlation from a "K" visa to a tourist entry just does not work

This is exactly why I rarely bother to post in the other topics - Cause people like to nit pick - I could have picked any other visa out there, I chose the visitor visa - Regardless, my point is that the K1 / K2 is NOT an immigrant visa, which is why it says that she doesn't have permission to go to school - because until they file to adjust status, she is technically not an immigrant.

I could also give you the example of a girl who was brought to the US on someone else's visa - enrolled in school, had a SSN, was in foster care under the state - all without any legal status into the US - But would that really help the original poster?

You were fortunate in your situation, I would hope that the OP is as well - My point was to try to help explain why the visa says what it says - Because technically, as a Non-immigrant, the child doesn't have the right to attend school - Will most school systems work with you? Yes -
susFemaleJamaica2010-02-25 11:26:00
Mexico, Latin & South AmericaCosta Rica K1 Fiancee with Child Embassy Interview

Oh no it is not... a K-1/2 status is not even remotely basically the same as a visitor..... I enrolled the K-2 in school right after arrival and way before greencard...

THen your school district was aware of the visa process - See the highlighted portions below: Same as a visitor visa - You are allowed entry to the country, but if you don't marry you are not allowed to remain in the country - it allows you to remain in the country for a certain period of time - Same as a visitor visa allows you to remain in the country for a specified period of time.

After the Fiancé(e) Visa is Issued

Once issued, the fiancé(e) visa (or K-1 nonimmigrant visa) allows your fiancé(e) to enter the United States for 90 days so that your marriage ceremony can take place. Once you marry, your spouse may apply for permanent residence and remain in the United States while USCIS processes the application. For additional information, see the “Green Card” link to the right.

Children of Fiancé(e)s

If your fiancé(e) has a child (under 21 and unmarried), a K-2 nonimmigrant visa may be available to him or her. Be sure to include the names of your fiancé(e)’s children on your Form I-129F petition.

Permission to Work

After admission, your fiancé(e) may immediately apply for permission to work by filing a Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization.

What happens if we do not marry within 90 days?

Fiancé(e) status automatically expires after 90 days. It cannot be extended. Your fiancé(e) should leave the United States at the end of the 90 days if you do not marry. If your fiancé(e) does not depart, he or she will be in violation of U.S. immigration law. This may result in removal (deportation) and/or could affect future eligibility for U.S. immigration benefits.

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaCosta Rica K1 Fiancee with Child Embassy Interview
A fiancee visa is not an immigrant visa to the US - as a K-1 / K2, your fiancee and her daughter have a right to enter the US and stay for 90 days - If you get married within the 90 days, then you file for both of them to adjust status, which is when residency begins - Until you file to adjust their status, your step-daughter is basically considered a visitor to the US, which is why she doesn't have permission to attend school.

I am pretty sure that if you explain the situation to the school, they will work with you to get her enrolled - Or just marry ASAP and adjust status, once you have that NOA1 from adjustment, you can register her with that.

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaYardies a home and a farrin, Part 24!
What a horrendous day I had -I so badly wanted to call out sick to work, but I have a huge document review that has to be done so I threw on sweats and went - Only to find out that outside council was in, and I was running up and down executive row all day - So not a good look in my sweat pants. Add to that, my Doctor thinks I have an MRSA infection - I am so ready to just crawl into my bed.

But, before I did so - I want to bring something openly here cause I am really tired of the behind the scenes PMs, texts, calls, etc.... all of which have inaccurate info - feels like we went back to Junior High School where your insecurities are trying to make you rally everyone around you to hate on the other person and get them to be on your side. So, to put it all out there once and for all -

I saw something that concerned me and I went to someone that I considered a friend, in confidence, who is also friends with that person, about it - I will apologize for not going directly to the person when I saw it, I should have - But it's the type of thing I would hope someone would care enough to do for me - if you are good with it, then that's your life, your choice - no problem. In my mind, it's worse to see something and not point it out. Obviously, this has shown me that people I considered to be friends or ones that I can trust to come to in confidence are not that - because if they were, this would never have gone down the way it has.

But since that time, there has been all kinds of back and forth about how I am "hiding" from here cause of stuff that went down, that I am running around making comments and calling people to let them know, that my facebook posts are about her, that I am fake and not to be trusted, etc... - Sorry, I have things that are going on in my life that have NOTHING to do with VJ, which is what my FB posts are about - I also joke around with my friends about things that aren't related here, cause I know other things about what they are going through. Anyone that has been on the boards with me for a while or knows me should know me well enough that if I have a problem with you, I will bring it to you - I am not gonna run around crying to everyone else and bashing that person to try to make myself feel better. Or are you so insecure that you assume you would be the only thing I have to talk about? I don't wish bad on anyone, we are all supposed to be here as support for one another - But again, come to find out that is not the case, cause some people talk one thing to your face and then jump cause they think they know it all and bash you to behind your back - It's the old adage about don't ASSume - or is it with friends like this, who needs enemies?

I never in a million years would have thought that this person would resort to the juvenile BS and backstabbing that has gone on today - if you had a problem with me, then you should have acted like a grown woman and come to me instead of trying to make sure everyone on VJ is on your team. I now understand why people have disappeared from this thread - cause people that you think are truly friends are not -

For those of you that know me for who I am, you know where to find me - and finesse, I will PM you my email since you refuse to get pon FB. I wish you all the best in your journeys - despite what some might think. Right now, I need to focus on myself and my health and leave the junior high ish to those who seem to thrive on it.

Q - I can tell you about this firsthand, just my opinion though...My mom was cremated because it was what she wanted. I think that if there is very little money cremation is the way to go. I also pushed the button that started the creamation machine and it was one of the hardest things I had to do. The down side to cremation is that you don't have a gravesight to go visit the person time after time. With cremation, you can keep the ashes if you like. I took mom to VA Beach and one night I stood along the ocean line, said a prayer and released most of her ashes. I kept a little. I always joke and tell people its her big toe lol

And personally if you are going to do the gravesight, who really wants to do that and not have a stone?

That reminds me of a radio program I heard one time - they were having people call in and say what they had done with the ashes - This one woman called and said her Mom had been addicted to the slots - So they all took a trip to Vegas, divvied up the ashes, and sprinkled them in various spots throughout Vegas - Every last one of them won money on the trip. A little morbid, but I thought a cool story.

My Mom's side of the family has all been cremated, my Dad's side buried - My Dad had been set on cremation until we lost my nephew, then he changed his mind. So his was the full out funeral and burial, and it took us a while to get the headstone up (actually not sure if it's there yet) - I won't go to the cemetary - it's too hard for me and doesn't remind me of him, just makes me sad. He's buried next to my nephew.

hey ya'll!!! wanna thank EVERYBODY for the love on yesterday.. texts, fb comments everything.. i love my i-family!!!!!!!!!!

i am thankful that we all got to be with my dad his last mnth.. we talked and laughed and i know it was God cuz he could have easily died without us having this chance..

question...what do you think about cremation.. i personally have nothing against it, but some familymembers are tripping for real.. my dad has no money and cremation is the most affordable route but for a couple more hundred we could have just a gravesite burial w/ no head stone..
just looking for a lil more knowledge on the subject

I am all for cremation - One part of my family has travelled (and now some moved) to a beach area for years - everyone in the family is cremated when they have passed, and their ashes are scattered on the same beach. With the first person, this really pretty blue butterfly appeared and was flying around us all - Since then, there is one more butterfly each time someone passes - and the only place down there we see them is on this beach.

Hey Philly....my mom is trying to get her sister and three kids over here...she is trying to find a good lawyer (and cheap) so they can process the visa paperwork...its going to be a lot for my mom though...her sister doesn't work and her three kids are all young...my mom and my aunt were the ones taking care of her and her kids back in Haiti....it will be harder for her if when they are here.....but its too crazy for them to be out there...Its tough...

I know the CT Lawyers are doing a ton of probono work for this, probably NY too - Here is a link to the CT attorney info, they have clinics, etc...

Love Trader Joes too - They have this new flat bread pizza with mushrooms that is to die for! (side note, by the time I finish this prednisone I will probably gain 50 lbs, lol) - But they have fat free Greek Yogurt now too - still has the same thickness, not quite as creamy.
