Mexico, Latin & South America	Yardies a home and a farrin (Part 23)	I was wondering that, too, before Sus explained. That HAS to be frustrating. Sus, did they forewarn you of this? We had mandatory meetings a month ago where they told us not to expect raises this year. I was just glad I got mine at the end of last year, before the raise freeze. No warnings, just rumors - I wouldn't have a problem with it if it were across the board - but execs are getting their bonuses - I am sorry, bonuses should be cut BEFORE the raises - at the very least it should have been an across the board cost of living increase - My manager is great though, just the company sucks - although we talked about pushing through my re-eval (2 years past due) and I told him today that I want to meet with HR - because they said that 20% of my duties must fall outside of my current description to justify it - About 95% of my duties are outside of my job description, so I want to sit down and go through line by line and then let them justify why my job hasn't changed. The 1 is the best here - and next to impossible to get - If you do everything you are supposed to do at your job and do it well, you get a 3 (out of 5) - 2s mean you went above and beyond - Maybe 100 people in the entire company get a 1 (over 35000 employees)- this is the second year in a row I have gotten a 1 - and no friggin raise - But the big wigs are still getting their bonuses - total BS	sus	Female	Jamaica	2010-02-19 14:59:00

I was originally consdering a fiance visa but we are waiting to schedule our marriage to when both of our families will be able to attend. I am foreign myself but hold a U.S. passport. I currently stay at my university. Is this a problem for my invitation letter? I can give them my phone number, but would I need to give a residential address? I have a friend off campus he could stay with for a few nights but is that necessary? he would be here for about one week. Please help, I graduate this May 2010 and would love for him to be here. I have no idea how to go about this, what I need to do etc.... and I know it's a stretch. Thank you Getting a visitor visa is the luck of the draw - he has to prove substantial ties to JA and an intent to return - and what those ties are is up to the interviewing officer, cause we have seen people with nothing get through, and people with everything get denied - Your invitation letter for your fiance, honestly, could be an issue - because seeing that he has a fiance in the US could prove intent to immigrate. the medical exam was completed feb 18. im thinking bout the feb 25 interview. Plus I didn't add him to my account...the one that I had for many years and worked to establish..that one. A former VJer asked me how we bills pays and I broke it down...he pays cable, house phone, electric internet, 1/4 of rent, his cell phone....well he was making less than $10/ hour...I was told he pays wayyyyyyyy too many bills They would hate me now cuz he pays alot more. But these are the bills HE picked out in our agreement. I can be here on all day about his money thing but I don't want to offend anyone. But I seen too many women passing through his thread who will not make their men responsible for household bills. Just trying to prepare for the worst I guess. They ended up not doing the feeding tube, Dills - My Dad was too bad off at that point and his organs had already started shutting down - I have a friend who went through cancer treatment and ended up with a feeding tube - she is still here and kicking, they reversed the tube and she is back to eating. I understand exactly what you are feeling, it sucks - no easy way to put it - But the feeding tube does not necessarily mean the end - As long as he has the will to fight, anything is possible.	sus	Female	Jamaica	2010-02-18 12:15:00

He has been eating but not enough and he is now down to 110lbs. Last night they also gave him 3 pints of blood. When I hear anything else I will let you all know. Once again thanks for all your prayers. Oh, Dillon, I am sorry to hear that - sending prayers. Story about the feeding tube that hopefully will make you laugh - When my Dad was in the hospital, they were talking about putting one in - I went to the hospital, and his white board said he was scheduled for a colonoscopy - I asked him why he was having that, he told me it was the feeding tube - Ummmmm................... nope, Dad - not unless they intend to feed you up your azz!	sus	Female	Jamaica	2010-02-18 12:10:00

Let me give ya'll another praise report!! i was off from work monday for prez day right.. well roger was moping around cuz things are just rough right now for the kids in JA, he don't have much money to send, same story.. he even tried to sell his movado watch but couldn't get a decent price.. so i dreaded it, but i got up w/ him and went and did some applications.. (UGGGHHH i was kind of mad cuz it seems im always doing SOMETHING on my day off, i wanted to rest, but anyways, of course i did not show him my frustration, thats my BABAY!!!) we filled out the home depot app, and they called us 3 hours LATER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the HR rep asked him when did he fill out the app and when he told her, she said she couldn't BELIEVE IT!! said that ppl usually take 6 WEEKS or MORE to get called back.. i told roger that the prayers of the righteous availeth much!!! the yardies had lifted you up in prayer my bwoy!!! now you need fi go to church more than once a month!!! LOL i remember the donut incident too.. i told roger bout it, cuz he seems to love donuts too LOL Home Depot is a GREAT company to work for, Q - they promote and train from within - One of my cousins started with them as a floor sales person about 8 years ago - HS diploma only - he's now a regional manager making 6 figures - My other cousin has been with them (in TX, actually) for a few years now, and he has been promoted up too -	sus	Female	Jamaica	2010-02-18 11:21:00

We are a wonderful Country so yes lets all pray pray pray.And also pray after Haiti gets back on their feet they will be able to have a better life for all of them. The posts are amazing - the one that got me was the child asking her for bubbles, cause she had brought them last trip - and having to explain to a child that waited 11 months for more bubbles that she needed the room for medication. She's an amazing girl - Her mom (my 1st cousin) died of leukemia when she was really young - She has grown up into such a wonderful, compassionate adult I am amazed every time I see her. That's my husband. He used to wear shades 24/7 cuz his eye sockets were cold I came home one day last week and Damien was sitting on the couch with his 3D Avatar glasses watching a basketball game I just shook up head That's DJ too - It's gotten to the point that I always have multiple pairs of sun glasses with me, cause they "vanish" - this trip, I had to search out where at least 1 pair was to come home!	sus	Female	Jamaica	2010-02-17 17:35:00

I'm so craving a trip back...its weird I am so use to jumping on a plane at least every 3 months so now no trips for a while ...I will wait on Den to be able to travel outside of the US. There's plenty to see right here, so we'll start with GA first... LOL, I am honestly looking forward to NOT travelling to JA so much and being able to go other spots. Vegas has been being promoted on a lot of shows lately that he never planned on doing - Promoters do this ####### all the time - or then the artists show and the promoters skip with the money, so they don't perform cause they don't get paid - then the artist gets the bad name. It's gotten to the point where I am very careful about whose shows I go to - I don't want to waste my time or money.
