CanadaWaiting for our passports from Montreal
Well what a surprise! The Consulate just responded to my email from last Thursday and says they are sending it out today via DHL to her local DHL office. So that would be 13 business since the interview and 8 business days since they printed it. Good luck!

I hope you all get your visas. My fiance's visa was issued on May 26th. We're still waiting for them to mail it. Hopefully you all get yours immediately like many others did. One lady at the DOS number told me that if the consulate it busy it can take a week or so for it to go through QC and mail out or whatever. I'm getting pretty close to contacting my representative in congress.

Some people do call every day. I would maybe once or twice a week. There's not much you can do so don't drive yourself crazy. I just saw on trave.state.gov that most Administrative processing cases are resolved in two months. They ask that you don't try and contact the consulate for the two months of normal AP proceessing. It takes Montreal a month to answer emails so you might want to factor that in.

Sometimes it can take a while. That is what I am worried about. I hope my fiance isn't in AP. Administrative processing can be normal and routine, or it can be because of something else. It can take a very long time. Keep calling and hang in there. I'm going to call tomorrow and see what DOS tells me. My fiance is a Peruvian and Canadian Citizen. Applicants from some countries like those in the middle east or Africa are often in put into AP.

Having a copy of my cached check that was send to USCIS, is there any evidence on it to find out information about my case? I tried to fit all numbers from it to case status box(USCIS website), however didn't work out? Maybe there is something that I do not know about it? unsure.gif

yeah, I know in some cases it might take forever, hopefully not this time. Ever since I started dealing with them, they were pretty much on schedule according to their timeline. We'll see. Thanks anyway.

Hi everyone, I'm the new guy here, and also not happy about long process. However I mailed my citizenship papers on Nov.3, to Vermont and two days later they received my staff. On Nov.10 my check was cleared out, and since then quiet. The local office of mine near me is Hartford. If any of you have any previous experience with them, looking forward to hear from you. Thanks.

Just pay attention to the details. I mailed my application on 11.03.2008, and my interview was scheduled for 03.24.2009. I really thought it was short period for naturalization process, however now is extended up to May.

I'm planning to go again tomorrow and tell them that I have more stuff with me. I'm hopping that they will accept it without appointment, just as walk in. Seriously I have doubts but it's worth it to try.

well I had with me our taxes since we're together, mortgage papers for the house, bank statements, cellphone bills, marriage certificate, her original proof of citizenship, all bills were with our both names on it. Maybe the guy was having a bad day or something like it, however told me that I pass the test and when I bring the evidence I'll have my oath ceremony.

everything with our names, still was not good enough.

Again taxes for the past 3 years, bank statements, marriage certificate, lots of things. The only reason I did not have current bills was because latter said to bring all the originals that I submitted copies with application.

Hi everyone, let me share my interview experience for naturalization which took place on last Tuesday in local office in Hartford. To make a long story short I briefly explain what happened that day. Ok my appointment was scheduled for 9:40AM that day. I showed up around 9:10 and handed my letter to the window, and was told to wait for my turn. In about 15 minutes one of the officer came out for me and we went inside to his office. Everything was fine, I pass the test, however right before we were done he said something that he would like to see more supporting evidence for my marriage which I did not have at that time with me. A minute later he gave me a letter saying what to bring for the next time, then he will be able to give me the date for my oath ceremony. Now the date is scheduled for May 8th which is in another month and a half. I am ready to go anytime with more supporting evidence that I gathered next day. Now is the top question, does anybody know if there is any way to speed up that process rather than wait over a month.? I can not even express how that made me upset after waiting two months for my interview date. Please anybody who can advise me. kicking.gif

US Citizenship General DiscussionNaturalization Interview experience in Kansas city
Lucky you. I took my Citizenship exam on last Tuesday 3.24.09. From the beginning everything was going ok, I passed the test but the officer wanted to see more supporting evidence for my marriage and scheduled me for 5.08.09 which is another month and half waiting to bring them those evidence. Furthermore i was ready to go with it on the next day rather than wait so long. Do you or anybody else have any clues how to speed up that time, I was waiting two months for the interview and do not want to wait any longer.

I agree with l.j./1999 and that was a reason why my case was slowed down and also each time case is delate by them it takes number of weeks before they let you come back. When I mailed my n-400 it was November and I thought I'll be done by the end of March which never happened, unfortunately June.

When I was going for my very first interview I took everything as I was told according to the letter from immigration. In addition it said take the originals of the copies you submitted with your aplication, so I did as was told if I knew to take papers with current dates on them it would be a different story. However everything is ok now.

what did you bring with you?

I took our tax printouts for the past three years from IRS including last year, cell phone bills with current dates, house mortgage papers with our names, car insurance papers, etc.

US Citizenship General DiscussionMissing Evidence
Hi everyone, all visa journey members. As mentioned before, today I was scheduled to come back with missing evidence to close my case, so I did. When I came in to the building, I handed my letter to the window and was told to hand all evidence I had with me, which I did, and was told to have a seat. In next ten minutes one of the officers came out and called my name. We both went in and proceed to his office. Once we were in before I was allowed to seat down, he had me rise up my right hand and swear to tell the truth. Later on he looked again at my application, asked few questions if anything has change since my last visit, which did not and told me you good to go. In addition he also explained to me how to answer the questions included on the back of paper and showed up at told date and address for my oath.
Everything took no more than couple of minutes. Furthermore my date for ceremony is schedule for June 11 and that is another five weeks away, but I am glad to have my case almost complete, and wish you all the same in your cases.

Good luck to all of you.
