Can anyone tell me the process of getting early biometrics? Thanks a million!

There is no trick to it. Just goto the field office listed on your NOA and ask them if they can do Bio. If they are free they would do it.

Just received the bellow email:

On November 9, 2011, your N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION was placed in line for interview scheduling. When scheduling is complete, you will receive a written notice with a time and place for your interview. Please check the website for further updates on your case. If you move, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address.

Does anyone know how long it takes since the time thy send the email until they the interview letter is sent?

How were you able to do an early biometric?

Did you change the appointment?

You can walk into the office and ask them if they can do Biometrics. If they are free they might do the biometrics on the spot. We call it EB or Early Biometrics. It depends on the field office and their workload.

I just realized that on pct. 5 on the application I didn't put my address from my home country, I put only the address from here, for the last 3 yrs. To expect a RFE??? Probably that will delay the process...

If you have the case number, you can always write them a letter explaning. But I think they are looking for the stay in US.

Perhaps this is a silly question, but what is the EB date for?

I think it is for Early Biometrics. Some people go for early Biometrics or walk in than the schduled Biometrics Date. I beleive that is what they are listing as EB Date.

Not sure what date we put in for NOA. I am puttig the Notice Date 10/26/2011.

On the NOA, It says upon the receipt of all the required checks, you'll be scheduled to appear for an interview at your local USCIS District Office.

Now that I have the case number, I'll register for online alerts.

I got email this morning as well as the Case status on USCIS website changed to testing and Interview Phase. :wow:
Email I received is as below..Now my concern is, how long will it take to get a Initial letter for Interview? I have been heard that some filers do receive some sort of yellow letter, am i expecting that on my mail box? :help: Please respond..

I sent the form G-1145 with my papers ( it is on N-400 USCIS info page)

It is interesting. I did not know that form is there. I thought once we get the NOA then we would setup online account with the case number on NOA. Had I known, I would have sent this form also along with the applicaiton that way we would get notification immeadietly after they receive the applicaiton. Thank you for mentioning it. Perhaps future applicants should take advantage of this facility available to them. Once I get my NOA and case number then I'll sign up for alerts.

The immigration officer will also make sure that you have the ability to speak and understand English. Certain groups of people are exempt from the English requirement. For example, if you are fifty years or older and have be permanent resident for more than twenty years, you are exempt. If you are over fifty-five years old and have been a permanent resident for more than fifteen years, you are also exempt.
U.S. Civics and History Test

Are you sure about this statement. I am of age 54 years and I have been LPR for last 30 years. Am I exempted from the English and Civics/History Tests? Does it mean Officer does not ask me questions on these tests?

It happend to me. Officer said she is recommending the application for supervisors approval. With in 24 hours I received email notification it is approved by supervisor. Pretty sure you'll be approved. Relax. Did you sign up for the email notifications for the status change?

I called USCIS before I sent back the N445 form, and they told me that it is fine to reschedule the oath ceremony.


Hopefully I will get a new date as soon as possible.

Why? I do not see any stress or uncertainty component here. If you have proof of travel within the next two weeks it is not a big deal to get an expedited passport at a passport agency. You will get it either the same day or the day after.

Getting same day passport is not a big issue at all. I applied and got my passport the very next day even though I am travelling a week they gave it to me very next day. Getting a passport is not a big deal at all if you can show your travel plans and airline ticket or reservation. If you are travelling internationally you being a US Citizent gives you additional support from US embassies abroad. That is one more reason to get your citizenship done soon and then travel.

It is better to complete the Oath ceremony at the scheduled date. Postponing can lead to uncertainties as to when the new date for the ceremony. I did not want to miss my opportunity so I flew back from Caribbean two weeks ago to attend the ceremony. I missed my final exams in the med school and I have to go back and take them now. It is well worth it as I am done with the ceremony and now applying for the US Passport and completing other formalities. I do not have to worry about these things in the future. Just complete it on the scheduled date. That is my advice.

Why did you ask this question? You can get a passport in with in 2 days if you are traveling and willing to pay additional money. You can apply for the SSA and they will mail the card to you but will not have it in the hand same day. If you tell us the reason for the question we can answer better.

One thing is to be direct and another sarcastic and offensive. Just answer what the person asked without ur stupid nonsense.. And it is not just $680 there is also taxes we pay as lpr that is part of the requirements to become a citizen, and other legal fees that some ppl have.. I think the ppl that comes legally to this country pay their fair share to be a citizen. We come to this site for support! And help.

IO is doing the job and there might be some issues IO want to address before making a recommendation. What else do you thing needs to be done. I still do not understand what is the issue here. Even as LPR paying the taxes does not entitle you for the citizenship if there is criminal history or if IO wants to verify some other affiliations or contacts. I do not think any one is being disrespectful at this time to any. If OP wants can make an infopass appointment and ask for additional information. We all went through the process and every one on this fourm has been extremly helpful and supportive.

To be honest Brother H is very direct. IO has a job to do. If they need to ask for additional information they can. Just paying $680 does not give US Citizentship. If they decline the application or does not provide answer in 120 days then the case will be transferred to a court where applicant will have a chance to present their case. I would say hold your horses and let the process work. You can always make an infopass appointment and find out additional information. I think OP did every thing by hiring an atty and contacting the congressman. Now there is no reason to throw rocks at IO when he/she doing the job. Give it time.

what are the whole list of benefits?

You can look up at the global entry website. They are adding more and more features as time goes by. Initially it was for international travel. Now they are also using it for the domestic flights and cruises. I believe certain airlines also offering to reimburse the program fees for selected passengers. If you are Amex Platinum member, Amex will reimburse the application fees for the global entry program.

What is Global Entry?

Global Entry is a U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) program that allows expedited clearance for pre-approved, low-risk travelers upon arrival in the United States. Though intended for frequent international travelers, there is no minimum number of trips necessary to qualify for the program.

Though it says international travel they are adding several domestic air lines and airports. Delta, American and other air lines listing the program on their web sites. Also it can be used at land entries and cruises. They officially launched the program only few months ago and now expanding it. Before it was in the test/beta phase.
