Obviously ink jet is sufficient but make sure you have the settings right. Draft or fast print mode may not be appropriate but normal should be fine. If your really buggy use highest quality for the application form. 2.5 years ago I was doing i130 and I knew I was going to have a hellacious support document package to print so I bought a refurb brother laser printer with duplex for $120. I printed chat logs by the hundreds and all the forms and samples a boy could ever want. I actually figured I would use it and abuse it and toss it of needed. Well not only did it work great o mean 32 pages a minute high quality laser printer comes in handy for a sub contractor inspection side job I have. I finally had to change the toner recently when I knew I would be doing removal. I even bought the toner on amazon for about a quarter of the price. It was the best investment I made that Is still rockin the 20# white paper 250 page feeder

Now I'm not sure of every state but getting a new license requires a lot but to renew isn't the license itself enough? I don't remember ever having to provide another form of ID to renew. Of course the extension letter is necessary but I would call your license agency first

I sent mine few days a go and today just found out I did not write "Attention :I-751 petition to remove ..." as stated above :crying: Would my package be lost somewhere..? OMG !!
Anyone forgot to write it down on the envelope but it get thru and processed?

The box number you are sending to determines the content description, I wouldn't even think to worry about what you wrote or didn't write.

Good luck! Looks like a decent package. I included school information mostly because I work for university and discount of 50% for wife's tuition shows on the statements.
NOA was dated next day after they received package and arrived within a week for us.

I'm guessing since you got the denial letter they have the correct address.
Can you give a few details about what you sent initially and what the RFE was asking for?
I have found from personall experience with USCIS that documentation is everything. If you can supply everything they asked in the RFE and full documentation then i see them processing it normally. You got this letter but is it the last word and true facts? I fought them tooth and nail to get our original green card remade since it was their fault 100% it was misdirected. The letters they sent seemed final and ominous like it was our fault and we were obviously making up the story about losing the green card. Well I had impeccable documentation going back to the very beginning and they reversed their decision without even a how do you do. I know not same situation but just shows the form letters are not the only truth in the equation. I hope it is resolved quickly and you don't need any added stress and your wife needs to be 100% healthy pregnancy and stress is bad news!!

We had no letter or notification but if anything beats a smartphone or calendar or outhouse notched it is nagging by the sweet love able person who's name is on the green card. I don't think a week went by over the last year that I wasn't reminded how important this was and how I was probably filling everything out wrong but it's a happy ending!!!

Wow I do read the forums when I have time, but still shocked about the length of time people are still waiting. I know how difficult initial process was and the removal for us sailed in 3 months.
We can only feel for those still waiting, your waiting will be worth it, but it is hard to sholw support in just words.

I read these posts every day but wanted to take a minute to say everyone will pass this crappy process and be able to put the whole process behind. I know it sucks we all have experienced the emotional roller coaster this procesd puts us through. Being separated from my live for a year the first time tore me up. This last time went by how it was supposed to. But brave heart my friend it will happen for us all. So it turns out my change of address failed somehow. I got the notice of approval dated the 20th October this week and it was forwarded by the post office last sat with old address on it so I phoned up to ask why. Turns out it's a good job I calle eofre the 30 days because they tried to deliver my greencard on the 29th October to old address and I had till the 13th nov to get it redelivered or it gets sent back. So lady gave me the tracking number and hubby tried to puk it up from post office on Thursday and post office can't find it nor yesterday. As far as USPS is concerned it should be at that post office. And the post office system says it's in transit. They have freeking lost it I'm so pissed. I now have to phone before 8 am (yeah with a month old on my arms keepin me up all night) to see if the letter carrier is there to ask if he remembers what he dis with it. :( the others think he may have forwarded it an not scanned it when he did. An our old manage didn't call us to tell us we had a notice left even though she said she would inform us if any mail slipped by. :( so upset about this I don't have time for this mess and the lady on the phone this time said she changed my address as well and I should get a notice to that effect in 15 days.

The same thing happened to us with the original green card. I had changed address the entire process over and over checking and being assured that the new address was the right one. Even at POE they asked for address and wife gave the new address.
Post Office was no help they couldn't tell anything and basically said it would be sent back or held but not forwarded. those days did not use trackable priority mail.
i was sooo mad because USCIS said we would have to pay the $395 or whatever fee because it was our fault it was lost.
Well ultimately I was able to fill out I-90 form and not pay fees because I had documentation of changing the address so many times, correspondence names dates times etc, they had no chaoice but to admit fault and send a new card.

the waiting and hassle were almost as bad as the CR-1!!
I hope you get it quickly so that you can concentrate on what is most important, your life your baby and continue living without this hassle!

Well when I was going out in the afternoon I picked up the mail. I didn't look at it until I was 45 minutes up the road, I noticed Priority mail envelope from Laguna and then my slow mind put 2+2 together and I was like whoa really the green card?
I opened it and was like yaaaa. Now the unfortunate part, I sent wife a text saying good news guess what GC is here already , bad news I have it and I will be home after you so you can't see it for hours after you come home!

Man that must be nerve racking. But the card is here all info correct now I will send good vibes to everyone waiting.......

Just curious - how do you sign up to get a text??

You go to the case status webpage

and add your case to your portfolio and then you can have email and text message updates, check status online etc. I did it from my I130 application and it really beats checking over and over, the information is the same as when you call, supposedly the most up to date info.

I never had my case status change to decision it just jumped from review to document ordered

Hi, guys, Yesterday I got a mail from USCIS saying that the Removal of my Conditional basis of my Permanent Resident status has been approved. They told me I will get my new green card within 60 days, but today I got another mail again, and guess what? I got my official 10 yrs. green card... Thank you USCIS for the quick processing of my resident status.

Sent i751 in yesterday arrived California service center PO box today. The journey begins again.

I went simple for the material. 2 letters one from my mom one from coworker, house contract and deed showing both our names, drivers licenses showing same address, health insurance card, 3 years tax joint transcripts, beneficiary statements from life insurance and retirement, car insurance and joint saving account statements, and a few more financial docs.

So hopefully this is smooth the original i130 was quite overwhelming process

Hi all

 

I know this is a little bit older thead, but it might still be useful for someone:

When I was doing my AOS package in 2012, I remember reading an interview to an officer and the said what the guideline say:

 

no binders, folders, .... the first thing the officer does is disassemble and throw all that away, before they start reading. If you want use butterfly clips to keep things separated, maybe with small stickers, or post-its to title each section.

 

Don't think or hope they will use your organization to read through the file and then disassemble to file it. they won't. it's 1st: take all hardware out, then  punch two-holes on top for standard filing. then read through.

the more packaging you add, the more time it takes and that might annoy them.

The whole package revision takes between 5-10 minutes,  they want to re-organize the things in a way their hands are already trained to go through the stuff.

Hi Everybody

I was suppose to file a month and a half ago but I got a little bit behind! (actually I recognize some of the names from 2 years ago!!!) Anyway, still on time!! and filing now, but I have a question.

 

I am adding utility bills from scattered months during the last 2 years, about 3-4 per utility. Is this ok? should I add more?

 

I read in some older forum post, some guy only sent utilitiy bills for the last 2 years, but he got a RFE, they were asking for their whole relationship, meaning also for the months that had already been included in the first green card application, which he thought would be redundant. Any advice on this? how far back to go?

Thanks for your information! I haven't even began working on the forms yet. I'll probably save that until late May/early June. I just decided I didn't want to wait until the last minute to try and dig all of the evidence up. :) I just requested the last two years of tax transcripts today, and I just called and am getting a confirmation of coverage from the health insurance provider that will show both of us having the same ID number. I need to call our old apartment and see if they have a copy of our old lease by chance. I can't find ours! :huh:

I am starting to prepare to send away my husband's ROC packet (we cannot send it until mid-late June but I want to have everything ready when the time comes :blush: ). However, I didn't change my name right after we got married because I was still attending school and, quite frankly, didn't want to deal with the mess. We did joint filing for both 2008 and 2009 taxes, but I used my maiden name on the 2008 return. I also have some bills and such with my maiden names, and others with my married name. Is this an issue? Do I need to have anything in the packet explaining this?

I am preparing the form I751 for ROC, my 90 days timeframe started on March 14th 2010.
I have only the following evidences ready,planning to send it this week so very tensed.
1.tax transcripts of 2007&2008 filed jointly(Q:2009 is not yet filed, will file this month end, i am confused ,should i wait to send the I751 for one more week or should i send it without the 2009 tax returns)
2.birth certificate of the newborn baby and her US passport
3.credit card statements with name of both of us.( from the date i came to US)
4. bank statement of our joint account(Q. since my hus use this account for his business transaction the mailing address on the bank statement is my husbands office address and not our house address, will it cause any problem)
5.medical insurance with the name of all of us,including my daughter and the new born
6.vehicle insurance with names of both of us(my car is shown as the vehicle for his office so no joint property)
7.no lease deed ,since he had is own house before i came to US.
8.AHS home maintenence contract with names of both of us
9.electricity bill with his name
10.cable TV bills with name of both of us but only for the last 4 months, previously it was only in his name
11.international calling arrangement with startec with both the names but only for last 4 months
12.driving lisence of both of us with the same address on it.
13.e-tickets of some holiday trips together.
14.photographs.
That is all , no joint property, no joint vehicle, and no joint utility bills. :crying: is that OK


Does one have to send multiple bills from the account or does one suffice?

For oversized evidence (like my apartment lease) I color photocopied and shrunk it down to fit in an 8.5" x 11" paper.

Different forms have different instructions. If you read the instructions carefully, you will see that they ask that petitions and applications to the National Benefits Center (NBC) be submitted without using ACCO.


I find it quite confusing that some prefer it, and others don't want it at all.

So did any of you use the tabs/labels at the bottom of the submission to indicate what was what, then? I think that is where my main confusion lies - whether they should all be separated, all together, together with labels indicating different things.

Oh, and have any of you submitted an oversized document as evidence? We have a lease agreement from our previous residence. I know they don't like oversized documents, so I was wondering how you all handeled those.

I was reading that ACCO is preferred in sending the I-751, and I've read about people using multiple fasteners in order to submit the paperwork. I was wondering if anyone had photos of how exactly they did this? What exactly do you put together. Do you put all the evidence together, or is each individual piece of evidence ACCO'ed together? And what about photographs? I guess I'm just looking for an elaboration on what exactly needs to be done here. Thanks for your help. :)

The retake is a bummer because he now has a job where he loads semis for a living and the skin on his fingers has been worn down. They were having some difficulty when he went in the first time. I was afraid this would happen. :(

My husband and I are waking up and we're getting ready to go for his biometrics appointment! :) Can anyone tell me if his receipt number should be working all ready or if that wouldn't happen until after biometrics? Because I don't know if we should ask an official while we're there about it. We've had the letter for about 2 weeks and it still does not work when I try to add it to our portfolio.

Hello, I've been hanging around the forum but haven't posted in a long time. I wanted to give our updates for removing my husband's conditions as I know this helps with the accuracy of the timelines...can someone please add me to the list? Thanks! =)

bio appt: 8/10/10 (letter rcvd 7/24)
