Girls, this is it!

This seems to be a pretty good question... I asked my fiance once "Why do I love thee?"... well I should be bound to answer my own question right?! and coming across the question "when did you know it was him?" should arrive at an identical answer.

I knew it was him when all of a sudden my ex fiance (Filipino - one I had a relationship for 10 years) said "I am confused." That happened a month and a half prior to the scheduled wedding...It almost felt like in the brink of insanity. I've always known the long relationship I had, had a lot of problems. Spent the whole 10 years trying to fix it but it never worked. I always prayed and poured in a lot of effort just so it would work out but if you are not meant to be then you're never going to be with that someone.

I knew of Jeremy then as he was a very good friend. He's been with a long relationship too... and the obvious says it didn't work out for them too. I knew it was him because most of everything I prayed for in a relationship is what we are having right now... Never thought dreams would come true.. but really they do!!!

1. well... I never heard about a birth certificate validity period but that's a very good question though... I acquired 8 copies of an authenticated Birth certificates since 2004 and I used it as one of my documents submitted for my B1/B2 visa last year... so I think it doesn't have an expiration date to it... it does have a year when it was issued though but it doesn't say that it will expire somehhow... however, a CENOMAR must be a recently acquired one.

2. About the NBI and police clearances you don't have to acquire for children below 16 years of age not unless any of them is nearing or turning 16 anytime during the year...

I'm from Cebu too!!!... but I got a white slip after my interview (last May 22) so my case is still under administrative processing/review although I did fine. So I gues for you, you should be expecting to get it within 14 days from your interview... When I had my B1/B2 visa it was delivered to me within 10 days from the interview....

P750 terminal fee for each of you plus a P1620 PTA travel tax for you if tickets were purchased in the US or another country.

Anyways, I have a question... We're just about to get our I-485 completed and I am stuck with the I-765 (EAD.) Its just this confusion on how we go about our Middle Names (as Filipinos that is.) I am Referring to the item numbers 1 and 2 of the I-765. It is but understandable that Item number 1 is just to put in our New name, as we have already been married... right?... But Item number 2 asks for "Other names (include Maiden Name) of which is already my Middle Name in item number 1..... hmmmm.... Is it alright for me to leave item number 2 blank?... or do I put in my previous Middle name in it?... Hehehehehe!... I hope I dind't make all this more confusing than it already is... I just want to make sure that I fill up all the forms correctly... and having you go through it... I thought it would be alright to ask here... Hope anyone can shed light on the matter...

Administrative Processing/Review

Hi All!!!

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP!!!!

So I called the embassy yesterday but neither Grace nor Loraine answered so it was somebody else... She gave me the reason for the delay and told me its a name check?... (What's in my name anyway?) and told me it's going to take 1 to 2 months wait for the process to complete... I told her that our case is already 7 weeks away from the interview and I was hoping to know where its at this time. But she said its highly confidential.

Oh and another thing she told me the number is not for locals to call and its intended for the petitioners to call... So I told her that my fiance and I have agreed that I make the call as the call center number when we did just gave us a protocol answer which goes just call back in 6 weeks. I find it odd why locals would have to call the call center which is P50+ per minute call rather than the embassy line in which you pay regular air time fees to... hhhmmmm...

So I got off the phone kind of pissed of how I was being treated knowing she's my own kind but Oh well Jeremy tells me all that matters is that we know the reason why our case is delayed.

I better count my blessings instead. Yes, its been a long wait but even then we are still within the K1 given timeline. And within the given X amount of months wait, I get to see Jeremy twice. So yeah... I shouldn't complain but be grateful of what I have... and look forward in patience knowing that everything will eventually fall into place.

Administrative Processing/Review

Hi All!!!

I’ve wanted to post this but was kind of hesitant as I've read a lot of similar topics as this but here's my share of the Administrative Processing/Review Case.

I had my interview last May 22 and it went well... The Consul was very courteous and didn’t ask much. However, as we were ending the interview he asked me if I still have any business trips coming and all I could answer was that there’s none as my boss already knows about my personal plans. So he got a big stamp and marked my (still valid at that time) B1/B2 visa with “CANCELLED w/o PREJUDICE” then he pulled out a white slip and tick marked at the bottom box saying WAIT UNTIL YOU HEAR FROM US. I asked him if there were any problems and he said there’s none and that I don’t have to worry about anything because I passed the interview. So I examined this white slip he gave and saw that there were no tick marks on the lacking documents part. So I asked him about the slip again and he said “just wait till you hear from us, your case is put under administrative processing and/or review.” He said my visa will be sent in a COD condition. So I left.

My question is what does it mean when a case is under administrative processing or review?... Is there a difference?...

I’ve read a lot of threads saying to wait because they usually process it after 6-8 weeks. Others would say call them every day or every other day or every week. We’ve already called once at the embassy call center and called Air 21. I’ve tried calling a number I saw on here that’s said to be a contact number at the embassy (Manila number) last July 3. It rang and an answering machine answered but when I dialed the local no one picked up. I tried to call the same number today but it seems like the line doesn’t exist anymore as I can hear a void tone.

Our case is already on the 7 week after interview date. Is there anything we can do to know our case status other than just wait?... Can anyone shed light on this matter? It will be most appreciated.

While it would be nice to have a shorter list, it doesn't really hurt to have the longer list. Plus it is nice to see yourself move up the list, no matter where you are. It's reassuring, even if it only is from 321 to 318.

I read a great "walk through" post about the St Lukes medical exam. The post mentioned bringing the "appointment letter". I just scheduled our embassy interview today, which is October 3rd. Will a letter be sent to my fiancee, and is that the "appointment letter" she will need to bring with her to the medical, or is there another appointment letter? Does she have to have the appointment letter?

My fiancee had a successful interview at the Manila embassy October 3rd. She is waiting for her visa/passport to be delivered, then she will attend the CFO seminar. When that is completed and I go there to pick her up, what do I need to know as far as leaving Manila? I understand I will have to pay a fee(other than the terminal fee) at the airport? Do I need to fill out anymore paperwork for her? Are there any different processes she will have to go through?

We will fly into Washington Dulles airport. What happens then? I assume she will go through a different customs line? I have searched for a link that would answer these questions but was unsuccessful. I really appreciate the help, tips and information!

Hello Todd,

The Filipino population is Ohio is massive. We're just north of Dayton. My asawa has been in US for nearly 5 years now (CR-1) and has assimilated very well. There's a huge group in the Dayton area - Philippine Americam Society of Greater Dayton - probaly mostly due to Wright Patterson Air Force Base in NE Dayton. There are two Fil-Am groups in Columbus, one in Cleveland. You'll have no trouble finding Filipino food at several markets in the vicinity. La Herba Buena (formerly Dublin area) is now closed, but will reportedly be re-opening soon in Hilliard. You'll also enjoy the giant Asian Festival in Columbus every Memorial day weekend.
