We still have not received my hubbys green card. Seems really weird that it has been 2 months and yet they havent produced it yet. I called and basically was given the run around just like when we were in process for our I130. We will process your card within 60 days of the last notice that was sent. Well why the heck did we receive welcome letters dated from December 7th through Jan 9th. Buying time are ya? They extended their processing time by a month just by issuing numerous Welcome letters with different dates. I suppose once its 60 days they will then tell me well its 60 BUSINESS days.... :bonk: :bonk: :bonk: here we go again. Gotta love it!

POE was Chicago for my wife and no we haven't got the green card yet... no idea whats the hold up.

Thanks for the e-mail about the driver's license! I am heading up to the Social Security office on Monday if we don't get anything in the mail this week.

What all did you need to take to the Social Security office to get the ball rolling?

No problem Dave! Glad I could help you out for once lol!

My hubby passed his driving test tuesday! the lady was super nice and the only thing he was penalized on was tapping breaks unnecessarily at intersections. oops a little too cautious lol

All we had to take to the social security office was our wedding license, his passport with visa and his birth certificate. When you first walk in ask the security guard for an application for a first time social. They will give you one form to fill out and thats it! It was so easy! Let me know if you need any other info!

Just out of curiosity has anyone who interviewed in November received the actual green card yet? Our POE was NYC on 12/4 and we have received welcome letters for a month but no green card??? Just wondering if anyone else has received theirs and what the heck the holdup is! We have his social security card, drivers license, everything except the official green card.

Just wanted to give everyone a quick update. Hopefully everyone is doing well with there adjustments of having spouses here now! I see a couple of you are still fighting through this process and I wish all of you lots of luck and will pray for the speedy resolve of your cases!

My hubby has been here now a full month and we are settling in very nicely. We have spent so much time trying to get everything situated. Social Security offices, Bureau of Motor Vehicles, Bank Accounts, etc etc etc lol. But we are making very good progress and on Tuesday he will hopefully pass his drivers test and get an official Ohio license! How exciting!!! In the meantime we are having lots of fun discovering America and teaching him the different ways of American life. He sure does love the selection of food here! I even managed to find a Euro market here that has Borjomi water!

We have not yet received his green card... But we have received about 5 welcome letters. Each one reads a bit different and has some different disclaimers on it. Hopefully we will be getting the special package here soon.

And for anyone who moves between their Interview scheduling and actual interview take some notes... I moved into our new house about 2 weeks before our interview. I let the interviewing officer know that we had a new address and he told us to wait and update it at the point of entry. So at POE we did this and the officer seemed to do everything correctly. Well... our welcome letters are still coming to our old address. (Which is my parents house so no problem getting the documents) but for those of you who move and have no other family at the old address to forward it I would DEFINATELY recommend that you use the official form and send it to the USCIS just to be sure nothing gets lost in the shuffle!

Ill let ya all know when we have a real Green Card!

Congrats to you all!

I dont really know where I need to put this question, but it might be usefull to all of us..

My SSN!
I have indeed checked the box to receive one on my I 130, now is the question: Will they send that card to my house, and I don't do anything for/about it to have it?
Or will I have to run op to the SSN office myself for my sscard?

Any help is welcome!

Checking that box is supposed to result in a ss card being issued automatically. That being said it is possible that it will get missed. Give it a few weeks and then call the ss office near you to inquire if you dont receive it. Most people have it in 20-45 days.

AND THANK YOU BTW! Hopefully this was mine indeed!

You are very welcome! The NVC said mine was forwarded to the consulate on 09/30 and that wasnt my tracking number date either. It was sent a few days before and actually signed for by the consulate before I was given my interview date by email. I think there is just a bit of delay in updating their system. typical lol

My tracking reference was a few days before my interview was confirmed to be scheduled. I did a few days before yours and found a package... EXP 22 SEP 2011A ... most likely this was yours!

I agree with him. Just let the process unfurl as scheduled. We were going to try to request an earlier date but after a few days of thinking about it we both decided to just leave it be. I even had the e-mail typed up and ready to go just in case we were going to try to request it early.

I understand you want to be there for the interview, I wish I could attend ours but my school schedule comes smack dab in the middle of everything and would not be possible for me to attend at all. My consulate will not even let me in the consulate during the time of her interview so I see no point of me being there. Some consulate/embassies do allow the petitioner in at the time of the interview. You have to weigh out your options. If you are not allowed at the time of the interview is it really necessary for you to be there? Don't take me the wrong way...I'm just trying to help you decide. Quitting a job in this current economy is a scary thing. Finding quick employment turns out to be a chore as well. Good Luck if whatever you decide. :)

Our consulate will allow me to be at the interview. From what I understood on the email I received from them is that they prefer both spouses to be there for the entire interview if possible. As far as work I am actually in a business where it is very easy to get another job. I was asking around this weekend and received an offer already. It will even be an increase in pay and less hours! No more nights and weekends!! I will actually get to see my hubby when he gets here lol. So I am just going to take a deep breath and see how this all plays out. Everything happens for a reason I just need to stay calm and its quite difficult here lately

Ok so I am having a total meltdown. Our interview was scheduled for NOV 30th and that is by far the crappiest day I could have received. My job totally revolves around month-end deadlines. Hubby was going to request an earlier date but thinks that it is best not to "poke the beast". So now I am left with many problems to iron out.

First, our interview is on a Wednesday. Embassy says it takes 2-3 days to complete all paperwork and then will courier the visa to him. That being said I have to decide if we should schedule our return flight for sunday and hope we get the visa in time... Or do I just schedule to fly back tuesday from the get go? Another problem is going to be time off work. The later scenario on flying back tuesday would put me not getting back to work until friday. that would be almost two full weeks off work which I cant do.... so in that case I would need to line up a new job and quit my old one before I leave (which wont be hard) ... then start the new one when I get back. Geesh this is getting way too difficult! I just want to :crying:

Go to DHL.com and where the tracking options select "more tracking options" are you will then select "Track by shippers reference number"... In the reference number field you will need to type the following:

EXP 08 OCT 2011A... and select your country from the destinations dropdown box

Then keep changing the dates until you find one going to your embassy. Might be a little difficult to determine which package contains yours as your embassy processes a lot of them. Ours is a slower embassy so I knew exactly when it was mine. Our interview wasnt scheduled until sept 30th (so nvc says) but yet our tracking reference was EXP 28 SEP 2011a.

Here is our answer......... :crying:

Hi xxxxxxxx,

USCIS records show the I130 case WAC xxxxxxxxx is currently under review. We contacted the appropriate division/officer and let them know there was a Congressional inquiry on this case. The officer has stated we cannot move forward on the case until all unresolved issues/reviews are complete. A required thorough review must be done before a decision can be rendered. Unfortunately, we cannot speculate as to when this review process will be completed.

We realize that your constituent may feel frustrated by delays related to his or her case. USCIS must weigh individual inconvenience against the broader concerns of public safety and national security. The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) are committed to adjudicating immigration benefits in a timely, efficient manner that ensures public safety and national security.

We will make every effort to make a decision on this case. If your constituent does not receive a decision or other notice of action from us within 180 days of this email, please feel free to contact us again. We apologize for the delays and any inconvenience caused.
(name redacted) Immigration Services Officer | DHS – USCIS | Congressional Liaison Unit - California Service Center | 24000 Avila Rd. 2nd Fl., Laguna Niguel, CA

Oooh that doesn't sound good. Seems like they are doing a lot of security and background checks on your both. Hopefully nothing comes of any of that. Wishing you the best!

Have you had any success getting an earlier interview date?

Nope... The best we got was that if there are any cancellations or re-schedules made and a date opens up they will contact the NVC to have them ship my case. Oh well... guess another 2 weeks and we will know a date!

Our case was completed and closed on 09/15/2011 per NVC yesterday. They said they tried to schedule an interview but were unsuccessful and that they will not try again til October to schedule it. The lady told me to contact the embassy directly and try to get a sooner date scheduled. I will be doing that today!

I cannot believe we are finally done! Thanks to all who have guided me along and to the makers of all of the guides! This was super easy  Time consuming... frustrating.. and a little annoying... yet easy! lol

You will most likely need to speak with the operator. With mine the AVR number did update to say that "They have reviewed my package and found documents incomplete or missing". When I spoke with the operator he said the package was accepted and fully processed and that the message was just to let me know to send in our IV package. Try calling them on Monday or Tuesday and they should be able to tell you something.

Dave is correct! We just completed our process in about two weeks or so. Could have been a few days faster but I was waiting for a package from hubby!

Last night I shipped off our IV package to NVC! All steps complete and now we wait for our magic day! Our AOS package was approved within 3 business days so NVC has finally got their act together in some areas! Hopefully the IV package will be just as fast!

Good Luck to everyone! This crazy process is almost over!

Still no news on NVC. How do I find out besides calling?
Will I get an email at some point? I know they have received everything Sept 3rd (tracked our package) but when we called yesterday they said they hadnt had a record of anything and we'd had to wait 20 businessdays?

Do I call them again in a couple days?
DOS? Why call them?

I'm a little confused here I guess..

Thanks for any help guys!

I overnighted my AOS package on 08/31 and it was signed for 9/1. They just processed my package yesterday. Being that you sent yours a few days later should mean by end of week you should be able to get some info from the operator.

AVR system updated to saying that the agen on file has been mailed a package blah blah blah. Sure would be nice to here AOS package accepted since they received it wednesday!

Hopefully all government employees will get some rest and relaxation and maybe even a few smiles over their holiday weekend. Then come back ready to work tuesday!

I wouldn't worry about it too much.. The worst that will happen is that you will receive an email saying they cant assign an agent yet. And then you will have to resend it later!

CONGRATULATIONS!

Did you send in the DS230 or the DS3032? The assignment of agent form is the DS3032.. just making sure you sent the correct one! Also it seems as though you need to wait until you get the email from the NVC with your case # and such before sending the DS3032 otherwise they will not be able to process it!

Our DS-3032 was accepted by NVC on friday 8/26 ... Just patiently waiting to be able to pay our IV fee. I dont usually see much NVC action on mondays but it would be great if they could kindly invoice that for me today! Should have all packets mailed to NVC by Friday! WOO HOO!!!

I did call and play dumb like I didnt know what I am supposed to do next and the lady said I have done everything right and since the DS-3032 was accepted last Friday that at some point today or tomorrow the IV bill will be generated! Thanks NVC!

THANKS DAVE AND TERCERERO!

I called this morning and sat on hold forever only to get the rudest lady ever who told be to give them 30-45 business days from August 1st. I said what happened to the 15-20 business days? She said 15-20 days is for them to receive the case from CSC.. then another 30-45 business days for them to enter it. Case in point... they know they are slow and they are telling people whatever to get them off the phone. :bonk:

I really hope something happens this week as I can no longer speak nicely to those moorons!
~Hot Mama~FemaleGeorgia2011-08-15 12:45:00
IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsApril 2011 (USCIS) Filers
Well.. another week of my life spent in limbo. NVC says my case is still not in the system. Its in house just not entered fully yet. They have changed their standard BS responses to be more in line with their actual processes. Originally they would tell me it takes 15 days... then 15-20 days... then 15-20 BUSINESS days... and yesterday I was told they are really busy and to wait 20-30 BUSINESS days.

July 11th NOA2... August 13 still waiting for NVC

I can generally convince myself not to worry or not to stress, but this process has fried every patient cell in my body. Throw in my crazy work schedule and I am just plain irritated and tired. I want my husband here to give me a big hug! I miss him sooo much

Woo Hoo Go Dave!!! Hopefully mine is in that package too!!! When I called this morning the operator asked me some questions that noone else has asked before. I have a feeling my case is there as she was verifying dates of birth and things. She would have no way to verify them if they didnt receive our info from CSC I am guessing. She said it should be "very soon" and to call back tomorrow :-)
