Why my ? is it has to be Called Scam.. True a few maybe and it was there purpose of making one believe they loved them to get here.. But If you think about it.. Men in Usa are the worse to scam us.. if u want to call it that.. which i hate the word ok.. Could it of been once you both lived in same house we just did not click or both was not willing to work on your issues.. Everyone on here goes in knwing there will be a adjustment for all concerned,, And both should work on it together,, If you love who you brought here .. Its your chose.. NO one tied you up to make u bring him or her here.. It was to be because you and he Love each other.. I get tired of hearing SCAM .. It is so easily used when you got hurt.. We all or not perfect.. But it does not mean we a SCAMMER.. Just because its NIGERIA. I can speak for myself I have A Wonderful husband we have know each other over two years.. BUt have not lived together as of yet But dueing this time apart we are working on knowing each other and support each others opinions of all things.. Yes I pray alot and ask for guidious.. And I pray I live my life with My husband.. His A great man.. And if it does not work out it was not because we both did not try.. But thats anywhere USA or any country... We all Human.. Yes there are scammers But ALL OVER OK NOT JUST NIGERIA>> USA is one of the biggest next to Nigeria.. But PLZ do not compare your hurt and try to make others have doult of the one they love because yours did not work out.. I appricitae your words BUt I rather your personal issues nOt be brought out for us to hear.. Leave and learn Go on... I do pray you and your kids find happeness and sorry fro your hurt.. I also added my husband to my lease, renter's insurance, the cable bill and my auto insurance. You can use pictures, emails, chats, phone bills, etc for the other proof. We are also filing our taxes together, which you can do if you request an ITIN and request to be treated as U.S. residents for tax purposes.

yes once here in usa not while his in other country.. thats what i was asking??? for i know once here we do

Hello all,

First I want to say for those that my message don't apply to just Dont reply.

I met my ex-husband thru the internet, he then was a medical doctor in Nigeria, he contacted me and we hit it off as most internet relationships do. with this new found love I found myself booking a ticket to go and meet him. While in Nigeria and meeting my ex for the first time he proposed marriage to me, however it was already being talked about over the phone before I arrived. Oh that man said he loved me so much.

During my 6-day stay there he protected and shielded me. I went to work with him and actually sat in as he seen his patients. I met a friend of his as well as everyone that was on staff at the hospital that he worked at and all was good.

I met his mother and some family members and they seemed really nice. About day 4 of my ex-husband driving thru the diasterous traffic I begin to feel at ease with his driving skills as well as all the vendors running in the streets to make a sale. Again, all was good.

Fast foward to time to leave, ......ofcourse I accepted his proposal and we were officially a couple engaged. I was older then my ex-husband, but that didn't matter to me. The fact that he showed me all that attention and love was what mattered. He showed and told me that he loved me, however I was in Nigeria at that time. I had never sponsored a man to come from overseas so I didn't really know much about it. I did do research on his country and found a site where it said that a Nigerian man will walk away from a marriage leaving his wife to find a way to feed their kids, agian that didn't matter to me, because while I was there in Nigeria this man treated me like a queen (not to mention that he was a doctor there. )

Here in the states I worked in the medical field and actually worked with other Nigerian doctors, I didn't know them very personally but they were respectful towards me so no alarms went off.
Again my ex-husband and his family were very kind and repectful as well.

FAST FOWARD:

My ex arrives in the states thru a K-1 visa I filed for in his behalf. He tells me that we need to marry quick so that he can become a doctor here in America and raise the family income. ( who wouldn't go for that after all that's your fiance talking, the man that you trust and love ) So ofcourse I complied with my soon to be husband.

FAST FOWARD:

After marriage gradually he begin to create strive and discord in our relationship ( his beginning plan for leaving the relationship ) and evenually he left our family home and begin writing letters talking about how abrusive I was towards him......... ( At that time I knew nothing about a I-360 )

Our son was only 3-weeks old when he left, Here in Seattle they have a rather large Nigerian community here, I didn't know that either.

Moral of my experience is that you won't know of an aliens intentions, you will know of what they tell you prior to coming into America or obtaining their papers. I understand many of you being supportive and thinking that your relationship is real and that your alien spouse really love s you and your both deeply in love, I've already been there and done that. What many of you don't and won't grasp is the masquerade until it becomes too late.

My ex-husband was from Nigeria, and from what I have read on this site from postngs from men that say they r from Nigeria is that others that want to come into the states look for a MUGU ( a fool ) to file paperwork for them and get them into the states. It don't matter your age, race, or financial income, as long as the paperwork goes thru, other countries also partake in this scam not just Africans.

If you love your mate, ofcourse you trust them, leaving u the LPR/American, very vulnerable because once your love arrives legally, there are ways to stay here, without u the sponsor being involved. There will be some from this site that is posting regularly that will experience what I and others have experienced, not because your a bad person it will be because of the scam.

I'm not bitter, I'm just committed to posting every-now-and -again to enlighten others. But again like I said you won't really know what an aliens intentions are , I do believe that there are good people all over the world, and now I believe that there r also scammers all over the world as well.

This Internet has made it easier for Aliens to come into America thru marriage and don't look for the aliens family to be nothing but good to you, afterall your bringing there love one into America.

Many have ran to Nigeria and married without giving there spouse a chance to prove their love towards them. ( Sex isn't a proof of internal love it only satifies both lusty sexual desires ) Many of us have spent thousands of dollars sending money to our alien loved ones and talking on the phone to them, ofcourse once they arrive here and eventually start acting a fool your left with thinking of all the money and time you have invested into this person, and in most cases you try to make it work with a person that don't want to be with you.

Take it from me, if the alien no longer wants to be with you they won't, unless they are in school and your supporting them or something similiar. However the true colors come out eventually.

I guess what needs to be demostrated is the love that they proclaim.

Finally, to all that are going thru this process, I wish you all well and hope that your visajourney becomes one full of longevity and joy.

my thoughts to you is to become familiar with the I-360.

I'm open to answer e-mails or for a chat

I had both. Here is how: I had phone records showing calls being made to the 800 access number of the calling card company. In addition ,I had the actual expired calling cards showing the 800 access number.

The magistrate simply wrote a letter explaining why I could not have access to the numbers dialed on the calling card because it was not a criminal matter.

I picked up a copy of the letter the next day.

Sorry if I'm not answering you clearly. If I'm not, feel free to check back with me.

so u just went to court house ask to speak to some one explain the problem ok I have a lawyer can't he write letter.. of same?

Yes. I went to the court house, explained my situation and eventually ended up in the Magistrates Office. I don't know if your lawyer can write the letter. I am 'guessing' that an attorney can write the letter. But again - I do not know for sure.

I hope you get this worked out soon.

F.Y.I. - I ran into the same situation with my husband. They would not accept our calling cards. In my effort to get a print out of the calls made on the calling card, the calling card company told me that I they would only do such under a court supeona. Guess what - according to our local judical district the only way that would issue a supeona for the calling cards is if it involved a criminal matter. blink.gif I was stuck, so I came up with a Plan B and that was to go to the Magistrates Office and begged them to write a letter (addressing it to the embassy) explaining why I could not get a copy of my calling card records.

This is not to scare you, but to prepare you for a possible road block. If this should happen, take note of what I mentioned above, because you can still get around the matter.

Wish you the best!

Boaz

We also used PINGO! I learned this the hard way after spending ( I can't even repeat ) tons of money calling straight through to have evidence of calling because I used calling cards but was told they embassy won't accept those. My husband did take the calling cards and all the phone logs we had to the interview and I had organized everything in a binder ( it didn't have rings in it, it opened like an accordion ) I don't know what kind of notebook they are called but I think they are cool but he took this and when the interviewer asked for things and My husband pulled out his organized notebook the CO would tell him that was ok he's seen enough. I think orgainzation is a big plus as well.

i undersatnd just showing calling card anyone can show this but i have tmobile where i used calling card to call him also emails and chat

I had like 6 months of Pingo records and about 200 phone cards

I was slick I would call Kings 3-8 times a day with Pingo just to see if he was busy and able to talk, and then I would call him back with a phone card.
I had over 100 pages of phone logs but he also had a clear envelope with the cards. I just asked what happened, if they asked him. He said they asked him how we communicate and he said the telephone and some times we email so he started flipping to the section in the folder labeled Communication, I had each month stabled and seperated; when the interviewer noticed al the pages and the large envelope with cards he told him not to pull it out. He then flipped to the section of emails and began to pull them outthe interviewer said no thanks.

I would start using Pingo and take those records i would also use the cell phone records with the 800 number. I am not sure about the requirements for K-3 but stop being so nervous and do the best you can with what you have. And as always package iyour evidence very well appearance and organization always counts.

If you have red flags that are of grave concern to you, make sure you keep your travel arrangements to attend the interview (be in Nigeria).

thank you yes im ging I have my ticket

First off I would like to thank everyone for your advice, it is very helpful.. When I mailed my husband's folder I put together with pictures and all our document's that we had sent to NVC I included all the phonecards I had saved, I have been trying for several months to get the calling card records and they kept telling me I needed a supeona from the court when I would call the courts they said I needed a case # like one of the other ladies stated without a case you cant' get that... I didn't work on it as much as I should because I thought the over 500 total emails, not including chats would be plenty, but the interviewer wanted phone records not cards, and about the police report his expires next week our case had been at NVC for 7 months.
He left the embassy and immediately obtained a new police report so that problem is solved...
I finally after spending a whole day on the phone spoke to someone at the calling card company and they told me to send them some documentation on Gabriel having an interview at the embassy and give them some of the calling card PIN #'s so I called Gabriel and he read me 50 of the calling card pin number's on the back of the card... I faxed the information to the calling card company and within 15 mins they called me and said sorry for all the trouble they would get me the records by tommorrow. I hope it's enough because I used other calling cards to call him and didn't keep those. My cell phone company doest keep phone records, I didn't know that until today Metro PCS only give phones records if you sign up for it at the beginning of service so that is not an option.... I email gabriel a copy of when my sprint ended and when my Metro PCS started and the old phone number from sprint I can't get those records because I still owe them... the interviewer was interested in the last part of 2006 and 2007 because we didn't have as many emails as in the beginning.. And that is when he told her that was becasue we talk on the phone almost daily she asked where are the records he showed her the phone cards and she said she didn't want those only records. He asked could he bring back his phone records she told him that was fine but was really interested in my phone records... So prayerfully what I email him will be enough... I'll keep eveyone posted...

Things will be fine...my prayers are with you. I know it must be so frustrating. I can't believe they asked for more stuff when u had so many emails and chats. I'm wondering if it's because you are CR-1, and they need to be more critical since you won't have to do AOS. I have my cell phone records, but my husband and I chose to limit our calling to 4 or 5 short calls a month, and spend the money instead to keep his home internet connection and fuel for the generator so we could talk and be on cam for many hours a day every day. I've learned just because your situation didn't go the way you expected you can still rejoice with others in there victory... The bible says we are more than conquerors through Jesus Christ that strenghtens us... If God be for us who can be against us... yes.gif

Africa: Sub-SaharanNigeria Time from Interview to Visa
QUOTE (Sylvia_n_Joseph @ Jan 10 2008, 02:59 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I am early k1 process and trying to rough out my years travel plans. Between my son wanting to go to college across the country and competing in various tournements I don't have too much spare time in the vacation hours I get from work. So my question is for people that have gone through Lagos. What is the average time between the interview and having a visa in hand . I am thinking I want to travel there for the interview. How long after that have most waited for your visa ? I would also like to go there and fly with him when he comes here which will hopefully also happen this year.
Thanks

I was reading your plans Im going for interview even thou i am told i will hav rto sit and wait on him. BUt I am not getting hopes up until we know day he will get visa.. Nigeria you never know there plan, I also love to plan ahead. But i have learnt with this process anything goes.. Just sit back for ride.. Theres days you will rejoys days you will cry your heart out, days depressed becuz NVC screwed up.. its a ride believe me.. But whats great the end is wonderful then you look back and go WOW.. We made it.. But get ready for anything I would not by a ticket for him till visa in hand.. Never know of delay what the LADY if he gets her will have up here sleeve for day.. Maybe in good mood that day.. Good luck My interview for husband 3/9/08 so pray fro us tooooooooooooooooo

Now it is less than 30......and I am getting nervous/excited. I will not be seeing my fiance until July so the excitement is all about having that visa in hand, not about seeing him soon sad.gif

I am going to be sending my fiance the last pieces of my financial info tomorrow.

The barcodes only apply to the information you put on that specific form. If you fill out another one it does not matter.

I wanted to comment and shed some light on this subject.

What your lawyer said was VERY true and I just think that he wasn't trying to sugar coat his words. Maybe he WAS looking for a shock value in order to prepare you.

The facts are very real:

Many people are living in destitute situations and sometimes MUST do things that can benefit their families and themselves. I KNOW this because I have lived in several parts of Africa for YEARS. I have seen FIRSTHAND how marriages are planned by WHOLE families for son's or daughters to marry foreigners. I have also sat in on these accounts and have some crucial details on how sons are groomed on what to say and how to act for their new "spouse". Trust me, the only reason I have this info is because I'm African-American, have lived so long in Africa that I speak just about most of the languages fluently with no accent and therefore am not regarded as a Toubob (foreigner).

I know I may get flamed for telling it like it is,...but hey, somebody has to open the door to the hard truth.

And guess what? My husband is African. He's has also been very helpful in shedding info about the scams also as I have for him also. Did you know that some folks in the U.S. marry foreigners to have an in-house slave? Don't think so? Ask some people in the forums if their spouse has ever eluded to this fact and see what they say.
reading.gif

Anyway, I do hope that the attorney can help you overcome the "issues" that he speaks of. Either way, does it really matter? You two are already married right? If your not approved, will that mean the end of your love and your marriage? I doubt it. The U.S. isn't the only place in the world to live (even though the government likes to impress upon the whole world that it is the "end all and be all".)

-----------------Shameless Plug Below....hahaha-------------- secret7vf.gif

By the way, I am in the process of finishing my book about the African Diaspora. Be sure to check it out in Borders and Barnes & Noble in the next coming months. Very informative. In one chapter I have compiled a Top 10 list of how to tell if your being scammed. It's funny, but you'd be surprised at some of the red flags that people ignore all in the name of love. Otherwise, I give complete insight on the culture of marriage to a "man of color", how to interact with the in-laws, learning to appreciate the societal differences, tips on loving your mate and many other details.

Peace out.

My husband also warn me about afrain men and scams he is very prodective of me... We are well prepared of question ask of us we will eb truthful of all we say have nothing to hide from anyone... So we will see waht happens no nothing will keep us apart no matter out come..

QUOTE (Sylvia_n_Joseph @ Mar 12 2008, 03:34 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
It is still not the norm for an older woman to marry a younger man. A few years ( 3-4) usually goes unnoticed but as the difference gets bigger the image changes. A man marries someone 20 years younger and every one pats him on the back and say .. way to go.. A woman does the same and everyone thinks they both require immediate aide from a mental health professional. That is just the way peoples minds are still programmed. Mix that in with a country with a reputation for fraud and yes I would ( and do ) expect extra questions. The funny thing is I think most of the white woman marrying Nigerian men are at least a few years older than the man. Before everyone jumps on my case, I base this on the ones that I have knowledge of the ages of the parties involved. I am in that group myself.

Thank you so much it was good to hear this I know, what you mean men get patted on back woman are called robbing cradle.. Its so wrong I feel my opinion mind you the nigerian men are more mature at yung age becuz of lif ethe live there they r forced to do it not a chose for them.. My husband is so mature... I love him so much I pray all evedence will show proof we are real in our love as we are.. age is a number.. thats all it is and my kids love him so much as well... All I can and anyone can do is pray... Its just hard to beleiv thye turn married couple away becuz of age what they expect a person to do if they say no you cna not be with your wife.. becuz of age diffrence?? we ready for ?? Well for us we have decuss everything and we will be together even if I become Nigerian citizen... LOL thtas truth.. Good luck on your journey plz pray for us its in 25 days.. I will be there as well.. thanks again

Maybe your lawter was trying to say that you should get ready to maybe address those issues in the interview (if they come up)?

If that is what he was trying to say he didn't do a good job.

Im sure taht what he attended to say btu said wrong we already knwo it may come up.. We ready.. if they deny becauz of age they wrong in this.. we still married can not change our love.. Im thinking postive POSITVE
