IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresAffidavit examples?
K-1's have to sign affidavits expressing their intent to marry, but there isn't really anything similar that CR-1's are required to create and sign. Are you talking about signed affidavits from family members and friends that attest to the validity of your marriage?

If you go to "example forms" at the top and look under "Lifting of Conditions (I-751) Related Forms" they have an example affidavit for friends and family members. Its a pretty generic format that could work for any visa.

I'm not really sure how many people actually do this and if it is very important or effective. I imagine some CR-1 fillers will come in with their advice.

Well I filed mine April 20th and I have no NOA1 either. I tried calling and they won't help unless its 30 days. I tried calling and explaining my situation but no the operator was just telling me to wait. I also need a expedite as well but I can't get it until I get the recepit number. My expedite will be military though because I'm deploying soon.

I added my husband to my accounts without a social. I had to fill out a form called a W-8 ben and fax them a copy of my husbands id. It was too easy and now what was mine is ours... But the only thing is I have USAA. They have a selective membership primarly for military. But it never hurts to try. yes.gif

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresDo we need to call or just to wait...........
I would call. I lived in Korea with my husband for 2 years and I just came back home 2 months ago. The mail man didn't recgonize my address so my NOA1 was sent back to USCIS. Once I called they told me and I changed my address to my work address. If I wouldn't have called I would have waited 2 weeks to find out something. Of course when you call they will ask has it been 30 days. You can just say yes since it's almost there anyway.

I was wondering the exact same thing. We have a 2-month old Yorkie. We're doing all the vaccinations and health checks soon. But the only thing is were worried about the quarantine rules. She is too young to have the rabies vaccine so she will have to be quarantined. So can she be kept in our city or does she have to stay in the POE? From Korea to the US she is small enough to be kept under the seat. I just read about the hot weather thing so another thing to worry about. sad.gif

i saw in northwest airline policy, 8 weeks old below are not allowed....

Well she will be older that that by time they come here. About 3 months old. So hopefully everything will go smoothly...

Oh~I hope you bring Toby.....but the whole allergy thing.....

Philippinesbad american or bad problem
After reading this entire post, I would like to have back the 5 minutes I spent reading this post.

And I'm going to say to you like everyone else has said....

MIND YER OWN BUSINESS!!

It doesn't matter if this is "family" or not. Your only going to stress your wife, and cause all SORTS of issues if you continue to worry about something that you have No control over.

You maybe family, but you are a KANO.. and I'm sure that this remote fishing village has been dealing with problems like this for many years before you married into it, and will be dealing with them LONG after you are gone.

Your "FAMILY".. but.. yer still a KANO.

My rant is done.. and I still want back my 5 minutes.. plus the 3 extra it took me to type this..
:P :o

PhilippinesFast Courier to Philippines?

You all just talked me out of using first class anymore, even though I've never had a problem in years..and lots of important AND expensive things...maybe it's because from hayseed town america to hayseed town philippines...cause god knows I am not that lucky........

The last time I had to send documents down to the Philippines, I used USPS Global Express. They got it delivered in 7 days, and I was able to track the package all the way across. It was about $58 for the service, but apparently they run it thru FedEx, and there was no issues about getting it where it needed to be. And the package could be insured with the USPS.. but if it's only paperwork, then what is the point. So that is the best advice that I can give.. and you'll have to ask USPS for the service as a lot of the offices don't even realize they have it.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresAdvice needed--I-130 evidence of relationship

I googled but wasn't able to find a topic that addressed this specific concern. If it's already been covered, please point me in that direction! :)

I am a US citizen submitting form I-130 for my husband. We currently live together outside the US and have a joint lease and joint bank account. However, for the majority of our time together, we lived apart in different countries and usually drove to visit one another (so we don't have plane tickets to use as evidence). I've read some conflicting advice about what should be included in the application package to support our relationship--some say less is more, some say throw everything in so you don't get an RFE. Since Form I-130 doesn't specifically ask how we met and how our relationship progressed, would it be worthwhile to include something that addresses our relationship history? We also have lots of pictures with each other's families and friends and with our cat. If we do end up sending photos, how do we label them?

I can also print out e-mails and Skype call logs if necessary, but documenting a three-year relationship that way seems like it would waste a lot of paper!

Thanks in advance!

Well, when it came to submitting my relationship, I only included the marriage license, a certified letter from 3 people stating that we had an ongoing relationship. A few pictures of us, together in her country. And the evidence of support, which for us was just Moneygram receipts. That was all that we included, and we were approved in a short time.

We did all that, and never received anything from the USCIS about anymore proof required. So pop in the basic info, and shared bank accounts, and the lease. You shouldn't hear anything from them. I never had to include any of the chat logs or anything else to prove that we had a ongoing relationship.

Good Luck!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresNOA timeline

My husband is a US Citizen. He filed it in US na and he's living there since birth.. How long will it take before we receive NOA 2? How long does this kind of petition takes place? Thank yoU!

I'm a a US Citizen, and it can take a bit. The timeline helps you out, and it can be close. I just pulled your Timeline up, and I'm sorry to say that it's showing your date as a little bit of time away. If the data you supplied is correct..

Based on timeline data, your I130 may be adjudicated between October 20, 2012 and November 3, 2012*.

This is only an estimate, and it maybe sooner then this. Keep the faith, and stay strong for the days ahead.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresTransffered to TSC days before approval...
Well, apparently in the wisdom of the USCIS our case was transferred to the Texas Service Center on November 2,2010 to expedite the case. I have been looking for any information in regards to this, and have found no one other posts. Any clues as to why the USCIS would do this so close to the 5 month promised date??

If your congressperson has a local office, you can drop in there. They can provide it to you, and have you sign it on the spot. And that might help you as well, because the staff there can really get there teeth into USCIS. :hehe:
