Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionHow to assemble I175 documents? Getting ready for our ROC. PLS HELP?!
Don't over think it. Organize it in a way that is logical to you. Personally, we just slipped everything into an envelope with a binder clip. They will just take it all apart and organize it their own way, just like they did with your visa petition.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionAR-11 Confirmation and Upcoming ROC
As the others said, I wouldnt worry about it. They don't sent confirmation on the AR-11. Our reminder notice was mailed to our old address as well. We were approved without a problem, and I didn't have a copy of the online confirmation to send in.

Where is your local ASC? Some centers have long delays, and some allow walk-ins while others do not. Knowing where you're located will help us give you the best answers.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionQuestions to people who received their permanent GC

Mine does not. Mine is yellow and gross! So there is a difference in mine. A huge difference in the cards.

Mine looked like that too. They redesigned the cards right after we got ours, so if you were approved after like December of 2009 you probably got the new design, and your card will look the same.

How long will you be in France? They won't send you a letter with an appointment the next day, you'll be given some advance warning. It shouldn't be an issue unless you will be gone for several weeks. Not sure about changing the date, but I don't see why it couldn't be done.

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussiondriver's license address does not match I-751 interview notice
He will use his US passport to get into the USCIS office, not his DL. Just like you will use your expired GC and interview notice.

You must have other evidence of living together. Bills, bank statements, credit card statements, a joint lease or mortgage, mail, etc. There are many ways to show joint residency other than your DL's.

Like Inky said, just tell them you haven't changed it yet if it comes up. You've only been there for a month. What does the state law say? Some states give you a deadline to change your license over before you can be fined. I would look into that if you haven't.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionNot receiving Extension Letter
As an American PR, you don't need a visa to travel to Canada. Canada should be familiar with the stamp and what it means, so I wouldn't worry too much about that.

Something is off. If you were really approved, no need for more information. I would call the USCIS helpline to see what is going on.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionQuestions about filing for my ROC.
Good thought Vanessa regarding the mortgage/deed situation. I submitted a summary of the home inspection that was completed when the house was purchased listing us both as present. Also, we had some docs from the realtor showing I was at all the home showings, etc. And I'm listed as a named insured on the homeowners insurance. If anything it made me feel more confident with the submission.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionQuestions about filing for my ROC.
To help ease your mind a little, I never received confirmation of our address change and USCIS even mailed the ROC filling reminder to our old address. It wasn't an issue at all, they just sent all future correspondence to the address on the ROC form. Also, I'm not on the mortgage or deed of our home either. Same situation as you, I couldn't be put on the mortgage because of my lack of credit, and I was told I couldn't be on the deed, which was wrong, but I didn't know it at the time. That wasn't an issue either. I did write a short letter explaining this and had both my husband and I sign.

As for the baby, it is good evidence, but I wouldn't wait to file because of it. If they end up issuing you an RFE for more evidence, you can just send it then. The extra time an RFE will take is still probably less than the extra time you will take to wait to file after the baby is born. Besides, once the little one comes you won't want to worry about this stuff for a while! Congrats by the way!

I didn't highlight anything. They should read the names on your documents. If they aren't in a prominent place, or if its not totally obvious I would highlight, otherwise it seems like a lot of extra work.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionAbout to mail my ROC docs, am I missing/forgetting anything????
Yeah, no passports necessary.

I think right now VSC is taking around 7-9 months. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. You should get your NOA, which is your 1 year extension within 30 days or so after they receive your packet. You will need to so biometrics again.

As for the organization, I stapled papers that go together (eg bank statements that were more than 1 page) Then I put the entire packet together with a binder clip. It was too thick for a regular paperclip. But no, it doesn't really matter. They will reorganize as they see fit.

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussioni-751 questions, what else?
The USCIS number and A number are the same thing.

You don't need everything on the list. Our mortgage is in my husbands name only, and it wasn't an issue. As long as you have plenty of other evidence, you'll be fine without it.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-797E RFE Info - Advice?
How about health insurance? Any joint policy? Do either of you have life insurance listing the other as beneficiary? You say you don't have joint credit cards, but do either of you have your own credit cards and have the other listed as an authorized user?

It might be a good idea so submit a few affidavits from friends/family members. I would definitely have your father-in-law write one confirming your living situation. It also wouldn't hurt for you to write a short letter explaining why certain evidence is missing especially regarding the tax returns.

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussionlife insurane

my husband has but is 500$ per month for the health one so we chose to have a private one is just 300$ !!so is no chance to get cheep from work..

Health insurance is often completely desperate from life insurance. Just because their health plan might be expensive, they still may have a decent life plan. Have you looked into it?

Hubby and I have life through State farm. Its about $70/month for both of us, $250,O00 each. I have a small employer sponsored plan through work, but it wasn't cost effective to purchase additional limits. It just depends on the plan.

I didn't have any issues travelling to Canada this way. The customs officials know what the letter is. There were no extra questions, no trips to secondary, or anything out of the ordinary. As long as you have the original letter with you (not just a copy) you should have no problem!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsDS-156K Question
I believe you are filling out the DS 156, not the DS 156K. Check out the example form on VJ... On the example, question 22 is left blank. If you don't know the date you intend on arriving, then just leave it blank. I put in a date, because I know the exact day I will be moving to the US. For the school question, put "yes" because you DO intend on studying. In my opinion, putting no would be deceptive. If you don't know when or where, just put "unknown" or "date and location unknown" if you wish. Good luck! smile.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsHPV immunization under review
My understanding is that all your vaccinations need to be up to date at the time of AOS. This means that if you're do for your second or third shot (or overdue) you must have it. With that said there's probably a chance you would get approved without it... It depends on if you're willing to take an RFE or not. I'd rather just get them done now and not have to worry later.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsHPV immunization under review
Well count yourself lucky for going through a consulate that does not require you to start the cycle before receiving the visa. For Montreal you must show that you have started the cycle of Gardisil shots. For AOS, you need to show you have continued the schedule of shots. This means that I had my first shot in February for my medical in March... I am moving to the US in late June and marrying early August, so for AOS I will need to show I have completed the cycle, as that will be 6 months. I have no objections to the shot itself, I do have objections with forcing people who are already going through a very expensive immigration process to pay $500-$700 to do the shots. I have medical coverage through my fathers work (that I am still under) and through school, and neither of them would pay a dime for the vaccination. Its a very strange and unwarranted requirement, even if the shots itself are worth getting.

I sent iteneraries and photos. Thats it, thats all! No RFE, pretty quick approval. We dated for 4 years and never thought to save boarding passes after each visit, as we were completely and blissfully unaware of the immigration process that would face us if and when we decided to marry. I'm Canadian and we cross into the US by land and use the airport in Buffalo NY, therefore niether of us had passport stamps as evidence. I wouldn't assume you'll get RFE, although it is a possibility.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsOpinions Please - Wedding Planning...
Hi Russ and Rachel! (I'm guessing you're Rachel, the girls tend to be far more concerned about these things laughing.gif)

I know everyone tells you not to make any concrete wedding plans until you have your visa in hand, but a lot of people have done it, including myself. I filed the I-129F in October of last year and planned an August wedding. In hindsight, it could have turned out very bad but everything worked out perfectly! If you want a nice wedding its so difficult to plan everything in such a small window, especially if you don't want to pay a ridiculous amount of money. I think you're going about everything just fine. When I booked my vendors I made sure it would be easy for me to change dates if something happened, and I told all my friends and family members that the wedding date would be tentative until I received my visa, so to refrain from booking flights and hotels until they received confirmation from me. I also waited and sent out the invites after the visa was in my hand. As long as you are aware that anything can happen in this process, and you and your friends and family members are aware of the possibility things may need to be changed, I don't see a danger. With that said, you've given yourself an 11 month window, which seems rather safe. Good luck with everything! I bet it works out just fine.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresGood but unexpected news
Sometimes doctors aren't that courteous! Whenever my doctor would prescribe me something, she wouldn't even bother going over the side effects. Something like how an antibiotic could effect your birth control is definitely something that should have been disclosed.

Congrats on your little blessing! It may not seem like an ideal situation right now, but life has a funny way of working out. Just try to stay positive and keep everything into perspective. Keep up updated on how the pregnancy is going! I'd love to hear about it smile.gif

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion about marriage!
I've you've applied for a K-1 visa you must marry in the US within 90 days of your entry. You cannot marry in a foreign country. If you marry in Cambodia at any point, either before or after you recieve your K-1, your status will be as a spouse to a USC, and thus your K-1 fiance(e) visa would be invalidated. If getting married in Cambodia is of the greatest importance, then you should reconsider your visa choice. You can marry in Cambodia and file for a K-3 or a CR-1 after the marriage takes place.
HugglebugglesFemaleCanada2009-12-08 11:14:00
IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresAffidavit examples?
K-1's have to sign affidavits expressing their intent to marry, but there isn't really anything similar that CR-1's are required to create and sign. Are you talking about signed affidavits from family members and friends that attest to the validity of your marriage?

If you go to "example forms" at the top and look under "Lifting of Conditions (I-751) Related Forms" they have an example affidavit for friends and family members. Its a pretty generic format that could work for any visa.

I'm not really sure how many people actually do this and if it is very important or effective. I imagine some CR-1 fillers will come in with their advice.
