Erm. So my coworker gave me this cinnamon themed present today with candles and this can of cinnamon stick spray. So I spray some on myself a little while ago after my shower and I notice that it's really strong. So I go to read the can and it says: "Spray twice to scent an entire room for up to four hours"

Oh. It's room spray... not body spray.

Never did I even question why someone would want to smell like a cinnamon stick either, that never crossed my mind. Perhaps because I love the smell of cinnamon.

Anyways this room spray has made me break out in hives. I love my life. sad.gif

Oh no, for the hives.

But if it can cheer you up, my friend did the same thing and was like "Ewww, why is this perfume making my hair so greasy??"
That's just classic Gen though.

I am turning 35 on Saturday and am actually a bit bothered by that. All of a sudden, I feel old. Ridiculous, right? And my vent is that I am annoyed with myself for feeling this way.

yeah I know the feeling.. I turned 35 back in May.. I know I am not old but that number makes me feel ancient.. and then I think wow, it is only 5 years to 40 ohmy.gif and it doesn't help having a husband who is still under 30 tongue.gif

Lol I've been doing Yoga as part of the P90X routine for the last 6 months and it's AMAZING how good I feel after that, highly recommend it smile.gif

Not to say, however, that a good butt grab from time to time wouldn't help out as well Lol.

I remember you saying about a month ago how great the P90x was, so I finally gave in and ordered it today! star_smile.gif Can't wait til it comes in the mail...even though I then have to wrap it and put it under the tree til Christmas blush.gif
Oh yeah..do you do yoga everyday as part of the routine? I know I'll be into that (I've never done yoga, but have always wanted to,) but am not sure how "masculine" it might make my husband feel lol.

same for me.. dark room, sleep and silence.
I dont have them as much anymore either thankfully. Alcohol is about the only thing that triggers them anymore. People think it's a hangover... they have no idea unless they've had migraines before. Im happy when I get a simple hangover! wink.gif

I usually work out in the morning (thank you unemployemnt) but today i had to do it after work. Turned out to be a little later than expected so i wanted to do a shorter work out. Like run 2 miles.
Well 2 min after i started on the treadmill, i started “seeing stars” which means huge headache coming up.
Now the huge headache is here and im pissed. ranting33va.gif ranting33va.gif

I don’t know what causes these “stars” and how to prevent them? Anyone?
Maybe lack of water?

They're known as 'auras' that are a common precursor to a migraine. Not all migraine sufferers get them, but most do. Nothing you can do to avoid getting them aside from knowing your migraine trigger.

I dont get auras but I have heard of them. I get bad migraines (associated with puking for 12 hours) and I'd recommend Maxalt or Zomig. They are the bizness.
Stress & dehydration are definitely possible triggers. Skipping meals too.

Zomig didn't work for me. It usually made me feel worse. :\

Ugh... you wouldnt want that when you're already feeling that crappy.
I like Zomig & Maxalt because they melt under your tongue, which is great if you cant keep other drugs down.
Maxalt gave me a pleasant buzz too.

I kept a record of my various migraines/eating patterns/other various medical issues from the age of about 13 until 17. My poor excuse for a doctor thought it useless and so in my frustration, I trashed them all. sad.gif

That sucks. There are so many incompetent doctors around unfortunately, and a lot of them would probably think it takes too much of their time. Were you seeing a neurologist? I would say to try to keep a diary for yourself and try to see patterns, but if you have already done it and couldnt find anything, maybe it's not worth the trouble. It could be so many things...

While I couldn't do acupuncture, hypnotism sounds rather interesting. I don't quite know how I feel about the idea of it (not being in control makes me nervous), but I wonder if it'd be worth it to try..

Are you saying you couldnt do acupuncture because of needles? Because I pass out from by seeing needles, have to get vaccines lying down and still feel faint, and Im already dreading my medical which is months away because of the idea of getting blood drawn. ... Yet acupuncture did not bother me.

I used to get killer migraines. After trying everything I could think of I finally went to see a hypnotist. Couldn't hurt, right? Best thing I ever did. It took a few sessions but I have never had another migraine since. Well, maybe one. But that's pretty good over 30 years. smile.gif

That's amazing.
Actually, that reminds me I had acupuncture a few times a week for 3 weeks after quitting my old stressful job and didnt have a migraine for about 5 years after that.

I was going to suggest keeping a migraine journal for people who have frequent migraines.
It is a little tedious but can be worth the trouble if you have odd triggers. Some people get migraines from onions, chocolate, or specific types of wine... it can be a number of things. At least you can try to avoid them once you know what causes the headaches.

I just went ahead and sent the OP a lengthy PM, re-emphasizing the advice that you and I gave in the thread itself.

I mean, I KNOW how frustrating the wait can be. We ALL do. Sheesh. And ALL of us would love to be able to be with our SOs sooner that we are... But despite how much we sometimes complain about the process, about the wait etc., it's all in place for a very good reason. When we take a step back from our own situations and see the big picture, the immigration process is so important to the sanctity of the nation's safety and security. Honestly, I'm never going to be one of those sorts of people who sees any foreigner as a threat...but I can totally appreciate the mindset of the immigration process, even if I know that I, personally, have no dirt on my hands and will be a welcome addition to America. (Boy, did THAT ever sound humble...)

I think you did the right think. Talking about a "negative visa experience" is putting things rather lightly, given the possibility of incurring a lifetime ban. The repercussions of visa fraud are very serious and at least if the OP choses that path, they will know exactly what risks they are taking.
I agree with Trailmix that some people just want to hear that what they want to do will work, even though they know it's wrong, but I also think some people come here a little desperate for advice and not necessarily knowing much about the whole process. And emotions can sure cloud people's judgement.

It's not fair mad.gif . First week of November I got a cold that refused the respond to any type of medication. I was miserable and after 10 days with no improvement I went to the doctor. I got 2 weeks worth of antibiotics for a sinus infection, corticosteroid nasal spray, and Musinex D. Slowly, I start feeling better although the cough and tightness in my chest never went away. The Antibiotics finished last weekend. Joe got sick on Monday, worked from home Tuesday, was sick in bed Wednesday and Thursday with a bad cold, sneezing, bronchitis - the works. Takes over the counter medicine and starts feeling better so he worked from home again Friday. On Thursday I started to get a scratchy throat again; yesterday it was worse and I ended up with a fever, chills, a really sore throat last night and today I am all stuffed up again back to where I was early November and my throat is really, really sore. So, back to the doctor again on Monday! I've never had a cold that wouldn't go away before. It is just not fair! (grumble, grumble, grumble)

That sucks Kathryn. I hope you feel better soon.

You could try this hot drink: half a lemon's juice, with boiling water, honey and fresh ginger chopped up. It tastes pretty good and it will boost your system. Honey and lemon juice is good for your throat too (you can have just a little bit of that in a table spoon to coat your throat).

Aww, I hope you feel better soon!!

In my own news? These past few weeks have just been horrible, but it's all leading up to what I'm almost certain will be the worst week of the year. First off? My car is sitting in my driveway, completely dead. Don't know what's wrong with it, and as of right now, I can't afford to have it looked at. Next? This week is finals week, so I'm working my butt off for that. Things are just all around bad right now in every aspect of life (including relationships, though it's more just that we're arguing over stupid stuff -- normal, I know -- and I know that things would be better if he were here...) and I'm finding it hard to get into the Christmas spirit at all, which is something that's not usually difficult for me to do. Heck, I'm even finding it hard to get out of bed each day...

Boo. sad.gif I really hope NOA2 comes this week. I need a pick me up. :/

Poor thing! sad.gif I hear you Frenz, Im not even having as much sh*tty stuff going on in my life as you (besides the damn dryer dying - which is really annoying) and Im struggling to get out of bed too these days. Im just grumpy all the time, and making myself grumpier because of it.
Hopefully our NOA2s are coming up and we'll have something positive to focus on and cheer us up.

Poprocks, is your husband's cat a siamese, burmese, birman or a breed like that? I had a birman for a long time and she was really sweet and smart, but incredibly dependant of me. Overly loyal. It didnt really cause any trouble but I remember sometimes thinking I wished she was a little more independant. Im pretty sure its a trait these types of cats share, to some degree. They act a lot like like dogs I find, when it comes to loyalty towards their master.

In any case, your husband's is strange and over the top! I still have cats now, and their most obnoxious behaviour doesnt come close to his!

People have given you great advice... much better than I could think of.
But, I was wondering also if maybe he would react differently if you smothered him with affection. Use some reverse psychology on that gaylover-cat.

And I totally understand your frustation. My fiance's brother's dog (female, and Matt has taken care of her a lot since she was a pup) gets jealous of me and whenever I get out of bed, she hurries up and jumps onto it and sits her big brown butt on my pillow. So obviously out of spite. Same thing on the couch, she jumps in my seat as soon as I get up. That ######.

Ha!! I got censored... I thought I was using the technical term! wink.gif

I have never had to deal with that kind of stuff on my wedding, but I had things said to be on and around my wedding that hurt.

When I went for my last dress fitting, yea my dress was a little tight, and my MIL said: "You'll have to get liposuction before your big day" that really hurt my feelings.

Then on my wedding day, I was jokiing around with the photographer and asked: "Did you get my good side?" and my husbands grandmother said: "Do you even have a good side?"

I may not be drop dead gorgeous or a hot tamale... but I am comfortable in my own skin. They are not, and it shows through their comments and how much they focus on things like weight and looks. That's their misery though. I gained 40 pounds since I have lived here... so what. I'm happy.

I agree with you there Trailmix! I've been experiencing the same stuff with our place. The last homeowner attempted to update everything, which is great, but some of the changes they made have me really wondering what they were trying to do! Like the kitchen has new kitchen cabinets, but none of the cabinets on the bottom have shelves in them. So, I can only put stuff on the bottom, meaning the storage space for my pots and pans is extremely limited. They also didn't bother finishing the edges, so you have nicely finished cabinet doors and faces, and then the sides are just like your standard sheet of rough wood. Then, they put hardware on half of the doors and left the other half without... And the grout in the tiles is starting to come up, like they had no idea how to mix it and apply it so they just made it up as they went along. Easy fixes but really, it just makes you laugh. But I must say that lavender walls with purple trim is the best!

I hope Matthew feels better soon Kayla! :)

My wisdom teeth experience was pretty bad. I let them grow in way to far, and it took them an hour to remove all 4 surgically. I was under for an hour and a half, came too, and then had an allergic reaction to the stuff they used to put me under, and then I ripped my stitches... Ugh. That was a rough experience!

Glad you're feeling better Marilyn :)

Hmmm ... lavender with a purple trim... lovely! But at least it's yours, right? :)

I thought my wisdom teeth experience was rough because I got 3 taken out and they were impacted, but you have me beat! ugh.
