hi all. My wife and i are acros from the embasy. Its late and we need passport photos for interview tomorrow at 630am. How can we make this happen?

If you'll be lucky tomorrow, maybe there are people outside the US embassy that it'll offer to take her photos, hopefully.

i'm just curious, how did it happen that after the long wait, how come your wife forgot all about the passport photos?

good luck with the interview good.gif

That would be me. I was responsible to remember because I accepted the responsibility to. But its okay, we were greeted outside our hotel at 6:20AM across from the Embassy by a gentleman that offered us Passport photos so we got them in time. Not only that, we were approved for the visa and will receive the visa tomorrow. Praise God.

PhilippinesEVERY PRAYER ANSWERED! APPROVED!!!
Salamat Ginoo, Salamat Visajourney, *removed for spam*, and Ray B.

2 year relationship
1 year marriage
9 month CR-1 Visa Application Process from Filing to Visa Receipt.

Our medical: Walay problema, healthy asawa!
Our interview: Documents verified by NSO and in the hands of the Consular
The Consular was very nice, gwapo guy from England I think. I was able to sit in with my wife, window 30. (I prayed we would not get window 32 because she wasn't letting husbands stay in the room). We were approved. Paid Delbros for delivery. We left the Embassy and I realized my wife still needs her passport before we get the visa because she has a plane ticket to her province with her married name and only her passport has her married name. I went back in and explained this to Window 37. He asked the Consular to approve visa pick-up. This was approved and we were told that we should get it in 24 hours. We will also attend CFO in Manila now instead of waiting for her to go to Cebu. Maybe we will book a plane ticket for next week.... or maybe we will just give my wife a few more weeks with her family PLUS its cheaper to fly in September than in August!

At any rate, God is good, answered EVERY prayer! Even the prayer for a different window!!! No criminal check for me. No problems! We'll even get a refund from Delbros! and I can use that money to take my wife out to a nice dinner!!!

Okay, God bless. Thanks everyone.. Our Philippines journey is complete...now on to the next journey..,.

PhilippinesGot CR-1 Visa, what's next???
Here's the million dollar question: what do we do now? My wife will be here in about 10 days with her CR-1 visa. We'll get her Social Security Number and a job as a nurse at the hospital. I know in 90 days we do an adjustment of status??? Is there another interview in the states? Medical exam? Where can I go on this site to see all the steps we need to take to finish everything here.

Thanks!

Philippinesrefund from delbors??
My wife lived in Mindanao so after her interview we paid Delbros the fee to transfer her visa... but then I thought "Well, we'll still be here until this weekend in Manila"

So i went back in and was able to have someone talk to our consulate and ask him if we could just get our visa the next day. They said they had to process it in Wash DC and they would call. Sure enough, we were able to get it the next day so I just went back to Delbros and asked for a refund... walay problema.

PhilippinesSorry if this has been asked a million times...
she needs to bring the letter of appointment from the embassy, her passport and 2x2 photos (4 copies). Its a general medical examination of her, from urine, blood, x-ray, etc. A doctor will physically examined her too and will asked her some questions and she should answer it with honesty, coz the doctor will write everything you said. Dont worry if shes physically fit. Contagious deseases (Aids, Hepa, etc.) is one of the reason your K-1 Visa will be denied. Good luck to both of you.

PhilippinesWhat if your girl is at the bottom of the Philippines
sad to say, yes, she needs to go to the US Embassy in Manila, wether she lives in any part of the Philippines. To save you some bucks, if she had relative in the manila, she can stay there until the medical and interview is over, or theres a lot of affordable motel that she can stay while waiting for interview, instead of spending a lot of money going back and forth. Usually the days for medical falls on friday, and the interview at the embassy will be on the next friday. She should stay near the embassy just to save time and money.

PhilippinesHow often do you talk?
the first time we met, we talked for 8hrs on yahoo chat and just about anything without webcam and he surely makes me laugh and after a week of chatting for 2-3 hrs everyday, we finally knew that we need to see each one beyond words and the rest is history. I was working nightshift that time and im sure blessed that the company i worked with had a free internet and phone direct us, so when ever i have a break, i called him or he will called me back or answered his email during breaks, but no yahoo chat, otherwise, i wont be accomplishing anything at work..lol... were sort of alarmed clock too calling each one that its time for work and when its time for bed, we never missed to say goodnight sleep tight.. its hard when your love one is too far away from you, costly too..but when you hear each one's voice, its like every tired part of your body or lonely feeling just fades away fast. Communication helps a lot ... Next year of April will be our 3rd wedding anniversary and seems like time really runs fast, seems like it was yesterday and i can wait for more anniversary for us to come, we truly are blessed to be with one another...

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!!

Philippinessending money to the philippines
Geezer has the best suggestion!

On my last trip to Las Vegas I went to the branch office of PNB, (Philippines National Bank). I set up what the OFW's (Overseas Foriegn Worker) use.
All she had to do was go to any branch office near her home, pick up an ATM card. I can make deposits to the account I opened for her and she can with draw from it. Deposits can be made with Xoom on the internet, or mail by check or MO to the Vegas branch.

I think you can set up the account on the internet, try google "PNB". If your located where there is a large filipino community, there might be a branch office like in Vegas or California.

The point is, I would trust what the OFW's do! PNB has the lowest fees and best exchange rates. Western Union is very good and fast and expensive!

ohh an CONGRATS on your baby!! good.gif

I am here to tell you I have first hand experience with a filipina in HK!

We had a wonderful fairy tail romance!! We went all over HK: Stanley market, Monkok, Lanchou and saw the giant Buddha, took the tram up the peak, road ferries, sub ways, dancing at night in Wanchai!. We even went to Macau! I visited her 3 times.

Engaged for 2 years!!

BUT

When time got close, she changed her mind! When we first met, she was new to HK. Then over time, she grew to like HK. Made friends and got comfortable.

Even thou she says she still loves me, she decided to stay in HK. In order to do that becouse her work contract was about to expire she managed to get preggy by Austrialian HK resident.

In talking to a mutual friend in HK about this, I was told, City girls don't work out. Is best to find a girl from the provence.

Seems, HK changes you!

Be careful with a filipina in HK! wacko.gif

Good luck

So you saying one bad apple spoils the whole bucket?sheeshh!!!you were engaged for 2 years, have i read you right?I also am one of the HK girls your reffering to,but i refused to be told hk changed me,your ex gf changed because she was overwhelmed with what Hk has to offer her bar ,hopping in wanchai isn't advisable and hongkong is full of temptation...my opinion is we all are entitled to mess up with our lives dont we?

I agree with you 100%. One bad apple doesn't spoil the whole bunch. Not only did I meet Lorena while there in Hong Kong, I also met her cousin and 3 very good friends and you couldn't ask for a sweeter bunch of girls.

So your gf must be a nice girl, and processing for K1 in HK seems to be a lot easier than in PI..Good luck!

Mj

Oh I couldn't ask for a sweeter girl than Lorena. I really have never loved someone as much as I love her. Oh and yes I have heard things go smoother there in HK for the K1. My friend here in Oklahoma is pinay and came from HK on a K1. She said it only took her about 6 months and she had a few paper work issues to deal with along the way. And thanks a bunch...and good luck to you as well..;-)

After reading all the responses to my post, it appears there is a little misunderstanding here.
I was responding to the original post asking to talk with others that have a filipina fiance in HK. I told of my experience.
I NEVER said all filipina in HK are like my ex. I repeated what was said to me by another filipina in HK.
Just becouse my story was not the lovey dovey story you wanted to hear, don't be upset. It happened, I survived and I now have a wonderful fiancee and we are waiting for the visa.

But you must accept that HK will change her, or you, or anyone that lives there. Just like USA will change her when she is here. Life is change.

I wish you and everyone here good luck, good love and a happy New Year!!

Pardon me, but I am very technology-challenged.

I loosely understand the sim cards and such, but here's what I THINK I am seeing. When I go to RP, I can buy a phone and use it back HERE in the USA to keep our calls and texts cheaper??? That sounds awesome, if I am understanding this correctly.

Right now, my angel texts within Phil for P2, but it's P15 to text ME here in the U.S. mad.gif

Correct, I bought a phone from Phils, 1/hr before you leave, you txt ROAM ON or somehting of that sort to the provider number depending if it's Globe or Smart. Now, they can continue to txt that Phone for 1-peso. I only use that phone to recieve txt, then I either text her back with my phone(I have an international txt plan with AT&T-100 txt for $9.99/month) or I txt her thru Yahoo Messenger(free for me). You SO would have to have a Yahoo account and she/he can add their Phone # to that account so txt messages from YM can get sent to them.

She even txt me back on YM and it only cost her 2.50-peso to txt my YM. I have a smart phone with unlimited data plan, so, I'm pretty much connected to YM 24/7.

Not sure how much it is for her to call me, but I'm the one that does the calling. Plus, I go thru Gorilla Mobile when calling Phils, they charge .9cents for landline or .15cents to cell phone.

Ingats!!

Hi All and Happy New Year!

I am glad to read all the posts and I guess I am doing things correct.

I use PLDT to buy load.

I also use Arty, depending on mood LOL

Here is what I did: When I was in Philippines, I purchased a cellphone and got Smart Sim card. An hour before I left, I put it on ROAM, took out the sim card and gave the phone to my fiancee. (phone only works on the frequency there)

When I arrived in USA I went to the Nokia web site, purchased an "Unlocked" phone, put sim card in the phone.

Now my fiancee and other Philippine friends can text me for the cost of a local text.

I don't text back with that phone cause it cost about 60 peso I think. I use my USA cell phone to text back, I purchased an international plan with AT&T.

Good luck. I hope all this information helps!!

My fiancee had her interview. We scheduled it when I could also be here.

Unfortunately at the end we got the white form MNL-IV-22

Nothing was checked on the upper part. The only box check was, "Wait until you hear from us"

It appears we are now in AR hell crying.gif

ANY ADVICE what to do now?

I wonder if the next thing we hear will be is denied??

Or we just wait and wait and wait?

HELP WITH ADVICE please

your visa was put on ar...thats it...the co didnt decide yet whether your visa is approve or not...thats it...all you need to do is just keep on making follow up by calling usem and ask about the status of your visa...thats it.

God bless you.

Thanks for the reply. Today I called,(one week after), but the person answering phones have not information. He just phone bank person and know nothing. He said maximum wait time is 3 months. Wish we knew why this is happening, of wish we can help fix things.

I made special efforts to be there for interview becouse there is more than 20 years diffrence in age. Here are some possable reasons we think can be why we got put in AR hell

1) The prescreener and also the CO asked me several times if I have filed a petition before. Seemed strange they repetedly asked. There is box to check on form. Seem like they had doubt? Maybe want to verify I never filed before?

2) I was allowed in the interview. The CO asked us both to raise our right hand and swear everything is true. Then she asked if ever arrested for felonly. I had to say yes, during divorce it got ugly and I was charged with assalt on daughter. Case was found not guilty. The CO asked if information about that was in file. I said no, since was resolved not guilty. I also told her was about 23 years ago. When I said that she picked up on it as being old and not revelant. But maybe they will run more back ground checks on me?

3) We waited until week before interview for fiancee to get medical. I read that at medical they will take passport and we wanted to go Hong Kong and see ate sister there. When fiance went in for medical she was on period so she had to go back. She went back last friday and since the interview was Monday morning, they gave her the results in a sealed envelope to take with us.
I wonder if all results of tests not complete? so need to get final results of medical?

4) Last but not least idea is, Fiancee is from Zamboanga where there are lots of terrorist problems. Even the USA has troops there to assist the Philipine army. So maybe embassy will do more back ground checks to verify this little 90 lb filipina is not a terriorist?

Do any or all of these reasons sound possable for AR?

We are going crazy here not knowing why and how long we have to wait

Thanks so much

PhilippinesFilipino Grocery Stores
In Denver Colorado most of the Asian food markets have some filipino foods and there are a couple of filipino restaurants. I made note of all of this and told my fiancee!! I want her to know that even though she will be far away from the islands, she can still get some of her foods here!

When I visit Las Vegas, I always visit some of the filipino stores there! There is a large filipino community there! I was in Vegas last July and went to Jolibee!! Chicken Joy was $6.50 usd there!! ohmy.gif

It was outside Jolibee where I met a philam couple. They are the ones that told me about VJ!! Thank you!

Also PNB has a branch office in Vegas, (same place where Jolibee is) I opened up an ofw account for my fiancee so I can send money that way. The fees are a lot less than Western Union!

So not exactly accidental?

They lied to obtain an immigration benefit, the lie was material  which is misrepresentation.

Malicious, well that is not an immigration term. I could visualise others going through that Consulate would think it was.

Plain and simple, lying by omission - which is what was done there - is fraud.  It is misrepresentation.  Misrepresentation of facts when you know there's another truth, is fraud.

There are multiple posts in this thread indicating that this would be considered fraudulent. I know that must be difficult to hear since there was probably no malicious intent, but it is what it is.  Please consider taking the advice of others.  If not, go forward and take your chances.

Begs the question what was the intent then?

You did not lie on your application so you were not in the same situation.

I have seen this scenario many time before, usually the Consulate pick it up and smack the person with Misrepresentation. A waiver is available but of course we are then into more time and money.

I assume the OP is also Egyptian, so whilst some people do there own waivers in this case I would strongly recommend a Lawyer.
