Serious..I thought umm what the hell is going on? It wasn't until I looked at it a 2nd time that I realized what was going on. I can't believe it's December already! I better get some serious christmas shopping done in the next couple weeks. I'm a complete slacker!

yes, it's crazy how time flies. It usually freaks me out but for once Im sorta happy about it. Now if only we could get some approvals. JFC!

For xmas shopping, Im shopping on etsy right now. I wont find everything I need there but I just found some cool stuff for my girlfriends.

NEVERMIND...I'm a spaz! New month!

I know... took me a while to realize that's what'd happened on november 1st... Got home drunk from a Halloween party and saw we had jumped a dozen spots woohoo laughing.gif
Hopefully this is the last month we'll be stalking Igor's list whistling.gif

They say if you don't like the weather in Iowa just wait a little bit it will change! It's the truth we had snow here the beginning of October...one really chilly week and since then it hasn't been too awful bad. I'm not sure if it's the calm before the storm. I could just skip the 4 months that it feels like winter here smile.gif If I could keep it from snowing until after I get back from England that would be GREAT! I dont wanna have to drive in that crappy stuff.

I hear ya. We had this huge snowstorm like a week after classes started last January. I could definitely do without that again, but I'd be better off -- I managed to get all of my classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays, just in case I have to up and leave to go to Montreal at any point. biggrin.gif I'd rather miss just 2 days of school rather than 4 or 5. biggrin.gif

I hope it happens really quick!! smile.gif
Im really anxious to know if Montreal is keeping up the pace these days with interviews. I hope we dont have to wait 4 months just to get our interview date. I mean, spring in Montreal is lovely... but I'd rather get an interview in Jan or Feb and wait in line by -25 at 6h30am. That's how much I want it. laughing.gif

Yeah that's the same as our last update 9/21. Ahhh well I guess we are still way early than the 5 months on the USCIS website so I'm just keeping that in mind and staying positive! How about this weather!?! 50 some degrees and it's end of Nov. I hope we keep this kind of winter all year. I can handle 50 degree temps!

First snow of the winter here. Not sure how I feel about it. An NOA2 would make it all better! whistling.gif

Anxiously awaiting for you guys to get your NOA2's smile.gif good news for you guys means that they will be moving on to the October filers! (yep, ulterior motives!).

I was looking at the stats (located here: Stats Page ) and am very sad to see the amount of NOA2's has dropped SO dramatically in the past month. I know that it all hinges upon people updating their timelines, however it does still appear that processing is slowing. drat! sad.gif

Interesting stats! thanks. I had stumbled upon that link a long time ago, before we even filed, and could never find it again.

Yeah I know waht you mean! I was really excited when August was getting approved too. Hell, since CSC slowed down so much since we filed, any approval makes me happy wink.gif

Yeah... same, I started looking for touches last week.

Nothing since Sept. 23rd, though.

It looks like CSC is processing filers a bit more in order than they did for August.

God, I hope we get a flurry of approvals by tonight... and all week!

Soooo. All these CSC sept approvals are popping up, and I just gave myself a heart attack over it. How? Well, I was reading one of the topics, and both my text message and email tone went off on my iPhone, one right after the other. I looked at my phone and was like "NO WAY FLSKDJFLSKDJF APPROVAL!?" and darted across my room, grabbed my phone....

The text was from AT&T telling me my bill is past due (whoops.) and the email was my App Store receipt from iTunes.

sad.gif!!!!!!

Ohhhh that SUCKS! I don't have text messaging alerts so I dont have to worry about that. I figured email would suffice! Did you have a happy Thanksgiving?

Yeah, I did for the most part. I'm just happy that my trip to my grandparents was relatively drama free this year, lol.

So I went to Merle Hay this morning I had 2 stores to go to....Target and Old Navy...what a nightmare! I stood in line at Target for nearly 20 min for my ONE item! I never shop on Black Friday...that was a good reminder as to why I dont!

Wow. I'm glad I didn't have to go out in it. I didn't know if Old Navy was doing anything big or not. Did you at least get anything good out of it? biggrin.gif

Well I bought a 6 piece luggage set for 34 bucks which I thought was pretty good. It's not samsonite or anything but I figured for $34 might as well get it! Old navy had fleece sweatshirt things on sale for 5 bucks. So I got one for each of the kids and one for each of my parents. I didn't have a huge list of things to get I just knew THAT stuff I wanted. It took me longer standing in line to pay than to actually get the stuff I needed. I think my daughter wants to go shopping tonight sad.gif maybe by then all the hard core shoppers will be napping and we'll be able to go in and enjoy it. Doubtful but here's to dreamin!!

what does one do with a SIX piece luggage set?

Travel in style with a family of four? yes.gif wink.gif

I say it's a freaking bargain! good.gif score!

Yup, I got them! I'm working on going through them and picking out the good ones and stuff, then I'll probably post them on my website or something (the link is in my profile)

I'll stay with him in Burlington (Ontario) because that's where he lives. smile.gif What'll happen is I will fly up to Toronto a few days before the interview and stay with him until the day before, then we'll drive from Burlington to Montreal for his interview, and then we'll go back to Burlington and I'll stay a few more days, then I'll fly home again. biggrin.gif

ah ok! that makes sense! I was thinking of Burlington, Vermont!

Cool, let us know and I'll check out your photos when they are ready! smile.gif

I think the British Embassy is fairly quick in comparisson with some of the others. The big thing is even though I've been married before I've never has a "real" wedding. It was a court house deal and it's not to take away from people who do it but for me....I just want to be able to do it the way we want and have family. When I got married before it was just like any other day and I want my friends and family there to celebrate our happiness. So John and I are planning on June 5th. We figure if we have an interview Feb/March time and he comes beginning of April then we'll still have close to a month after we get married to send off all the paperwork. I still have to fire my lawyer that we used for the K1 process...that's an entirely different story smile.gif The biggest thing for me is just knowing all this is done. If we had to wait a month after the visa was approved we would be ok...simply because we know it's done and we don't have to worry about it. I'm one of those people who's nature is to worry so I think for me it's harder than it is for John...him being Irish he's very go with the flow and easy going soooooo thankfully he reminds me to not worry it will be fine and I try my best not to.

I'm baking my pumpkin pie right now. I can't wait to put 2 big scoops of coolwhip on it! It amazes me how much it costs to have 1 big dinner...I'm gonna have to pimp someone out to pay for my turkey and stuffing!

Pumpkin pie! I was craving some but couldnt find any at the supermarket! Yeah, a dinner like that does add up. And a big turkey aint cheap. Should I ask what you mean by pimpin someone out? ... unsure.gif I read a really disturbing story last week about a mom pimping her very young daughter wacko.gif

I hear you, about the wedding and the stress (I worry so much - I think Ive calmed down lately because I couldnt worry anymore. I even broke a molar tooth from clenching my teeth at night!). Matt is really laid back too. Which is mostly great... sometimes drives me nuts. laughing.gif
I definitely want to have a real wedding. But when I realised there was no way of planning around the uncertainty of the timeline with Montreal, plus planning from here, plus Matt's gay brother butting in with his ideas of what's classy and tasteful, I decided it was simpler to have the courthouse solution first. I still want to make a day out of it, maybe leave for the weekend to a spa thing or something, to celebrate, have a handful of very close friends and the family who is at driving distance to come, big dinner out or something, and see from there. OR Matt and I will fly off to Hawai and get married just the 2 of us. But Id still want a reception with friends and family. See... i start thinking about options and what I want and I get all stressed out about missing out! laughing.gif

Geeez. Another Matt. This is getting a little freaky, lol!

I know, right? the fifth one in September or something? lol

With the holiday tomorrow my motivation has taken a serious dive. I'm leaving work in 25 minutes because of an unexpected trip to the orthodontist for my daughter, then I have to go to the store to get Thanksgiving feast food...that place is going to be a nightmare.

I think I'll have John make a fire tonight and we can relax before I'm a cookin up a storm! John has already been here a month. We have another month to go before we go back to England. I hate thinking about the fact that his 2 month visit is half over and I'll only have a week with him back there. I can't wait till all this is done and we don't have to worry about how much time we have left to spend together.

I just got back from running all sorts of errands... 4 different stores, supermarket, co-op to get fair trade chocolate and coffee (good deed wink.gif), petfood shop for the dog... After 3 trips from the car to the house to bring it all in, I was really hopeful I would have a nice reward in my inbox. But no. Not even new approvals. Im going to make myself a mean bloody mary. There. And I will try to peel myself off VJ for the next 4 days. Get my mind off all of this.

I wish I had a fireplace!! so cozy. I wish it was T-day here too. I'd have an excuse to get drunk and do nothing for the next few days!

Is the british embassy fast at giving interviews? Because if they are quick, you might not have to wait that long until John makes it back for good. Im still hopeful we could get the NOA2 by mid-December, or at least before the holidays... you'll be back in January, right? Then an interview by February? Can he come pretty much as soon as he gets his visa?

Frenzyheart, will you post some of your engagement pix?? smile.gif Im sorry your man had to leave already. It always goes so fast. sad.gif Do you have any plans to see him again in the near future?

Im not even planning our wedding anymore. It was too much stress. I want to do it at the courthouse fairly soon after I get there, then we'll plan something nicer and with more guests later on. I'll just be so happy to be with him and not wonder for how long we can be together!

Hey all,

I check this thread out all the time but just registered to finally post.

Canadian male here with American female fiance, we sent our application in mid-September, go the notice that it was received, but checking out case status we just keep getting "pending."

How many September filers have been approved already?

Getting a bit nervous... We're really hoping for a mid March wedding.

CSC has only approved 2 september filers. If you want to keep track you can go to Immigration Timelines at the top of the page and click on Igor's List. That will give you a list of the last 15 approved as well as all the people currently waiting...find your number on that list. Once you click on the timelines if you go to the left of that page there is something that says View my timeline, after clicking on that if you scroll down it will give you an ESTIMATED date as to when your petition may be approved. This is based off other peoples timelines and when they are updated.

Not to rain on your parade but if you have to go through Montreal apparently they are known for very slow appointments for interviews so I hope you are both flexible as to that mid March wedding.

Hey Welcome Matt!

Yes, like jkminney said, not that it's impossible to make it, but I would worry about a March wedding date. Im going through Montreal and they might be caught up by the time we have to interview but for now, Im not counting on it. Some people have waited more than 4 months to get their interview date, let alone the actual interview... Sorry to be a downer but you'd better be prepared for that. Vancouver is not as slow. You can check out stats on Embassies in the Timelines too.

BTW, you need to fill in your own timeline, unless you girl has one already.
In Timelines, it's something like Create/Edit my timeline, to the left of the link to Igor's list.

No kidding. She does sound extremely paranoid. Feel kinda bad for her as it's probably out of her control, but still. I had a friend like that, she always focused on the one thing that was said that could be construed negatively, ignoring all the clearly positive messages around it.

Approvals for August = 72%

IMO, either will see a quick spurt of action before Thanksgiving, or will have to wait until after Turkey Day to see much going on.

I am here! i am in the state snow so i have been indulging in vegas a little too much (matt works for one of the biggest nightclubs out here) so it has taken my mind off checking for visa updates!

p.s i had no trouble going through customs..they didnt say a single thing about any fiance visa and i didnt mention it either..so all good..

I love the twin cities!!! I'm lucky I'm going to be 1.5 hours East of them so I'll get to visit them all the time...

so back to Panda Watch day 75 (aka the visa journey)

you know how I was stalking the government website, the whole time we've been waiting this week they've shown 0's across the board, well I'm proud to report the fact that they are now showing data again, and HOPEFULLY that means they are going to ROCK out and send a bunch of NOA2's very shortly!!

one can hope right??

I just went on the USCIS site, and according to their chart (trend), there would me as many completed cases from September than there are for August. I find it hard to believe that there just happens to be none from VJ! weird.

Anyway. We have to get a September approval this week.
Pretty please. Im going to go nuts otherwise.

Edit : Looking at the charts still... now wondering, is the data supposed to show what they have done in September, regardless of when the petition was filed, or to show applications with an NOA1 issues in September? Too tired to read on the site... I'll figure this out later unless one you knows.

As slow as a snail with rheumatism, but moving nonetheless.

Approvals for August = 72%

IMO, either will see a quick spurt of action before Thanksgiving, or will have to wait until after Turkey Day to see much going on.

Rosa, havent seen you in a while... Are you in the States now?

Another 11/19 posted! Whoop Whoop! Come on folks it's Friday give us something to celebrate this weekend like at least 1 couple being approved on 11/20!

Do you think any of the people that work for CSC ever get on here and read this and think you know what....those sons a b^$#*s....I'll show them for making fun of me eating my hash brownies and smokin a bowl on my lunch break!

LOL I dont know about CSC and USCIS in general, but I know the staff from the Montreal consulate reads the Canadian forum. They have asked to pass on messages through people having interviews!! whistling.gif It would be a lot easier for them to figure out who's who from your profile since it's a much smaller pool of people at that stage, not so much at the CSC level.

I figure they'll only see our relationships are real. They can go check my facebook page too if they have spare time! biggrin.gif

Doesn't it seem strange that someplace like Montreal has one of the slowest processing times? You have to wonder why that is. I'm not being funny now but there are SO many other embassies that have HIGH HIGH fraud and they don't take that long so why in the hell would it take so long in Montreal???? I guess not a lot we can do about it really. Sit back and hope.

Seriously. Apparently last summer, a big part of the Montreal consulate staff resigned or got fired - not sure of the details, so they were understaffed. But they seemed so backlogged, I wonder if there was more to it. Anyway, hopefully it is resolved or on the way to be, and by the time it gets to my turn, there wont that much of a wait.

But as you said, I do find it strange that you hear about certain countries as being very high fraud, and it only take a couple of weeks to get an interview... Maybe there's no real relationship between the level of fraud and the delay.

Another approval at CSC yesterday, for an August filer. I do feel like they are tying loose ends though, taking care of files that had RFEs or that were dragging. Still, better than nothing.

ouch kizza, you have to go to Montreal? they are struggling sad.gif I'm very thankful I get to go to Van, we're aiming for a May 22nd and as long as CSC hurries I should be fine... I'm not in stress mode yet... but I can feel it coming!!

yeah that's why I'm a little anxious to have things moving.

But, from what I saw recently, they realise people's lives are on hold and are trying hard to cut through the backlog. A big bunch of people got interviews in Montreal in the last while and Im really hoping that it wont be another 4 months before they set up another batch of interviews. But I read somewhere that right now Montreal in the top 5 slowest consulates/embassies in the world. unsure.gif

If it takes 5 months for the petition approval and 5 months to get an interview, I wont get my visa til July. cray5ol.gif

ohh and jkminney I'd love some fresh baked goods!!! LOL... maybe when we're all in the US we'll get together and have bake sales for the CSC medical marijuana fund.... we can help others who apply after us not have to go through the wait like we did... we'll just make all the adjusters high and give em a stamp that says approved and for every puff they have to approve one application...

seriously I think we could do some good in the world tongue.gif

Well I've got my list of things I need to pick up for my bakeathon but I didn't include hash for brownies. I am goofy enough without having to enlist the help of any drugs! I'll tell ya what you cross the border with the hash and I'll make the brownies HAHAHA! Good luck and don't be callin me to bail ya out because I'll say I'm sorry I have NO idea who that person is smile.gif

Speaking of that...funny story...Johns dad bought a van off some fella years ago and unbeknownst to Johns dad the van was stolen. So he was pulled over and the police arrested him and they brought him to Johns house and basically said to John do you know this man? John responded No I've never seen him before in my life! HAHAHA! They took his dad to jail. My mom would have killed me!

blink.gif hahaha!! I would be out of the will. for sure. lol that's too funny.

FML stands for "F" my life. I dont know why it would show an I-130 on there. I didn't check the timeline either. There were 2 approvals for yesterday listed on there. At least it's something. My date has obviously changed quite a bit too but everyone just needs to keep in mind even if it takes till feb we are STILL within the guidelines of the processing time and as much as we like to think it will take less time than that we need to be sensible and know that it may take that long so no big deal.

The movie was good, although I would like to slit my wrists with a butter knife today because we didn't get home till 2.45 this morning and then of course I didn't fall asleep right away and had to be up at 6 for work...booooo! I'm drinkin diet pepsi like it's going out of style...caffiene is my friend smile.gif

@ Frenzyheart, very happy for you that Matt made it without any issues! Enjoy your time together!! kicking.gif

FML... I like. I'm quite a fan of "F*** me" too. I find the term rather eloquent.

Sorry you feel like ####### today jiminney, at least it's Friday (presuming you work mon-fri) and your daughter probably thinks your the coolest.

I know we should be happy with anything under 5 months for a processing time, but I have to admit Im hoping it will turn up within 3. With the wait in Montreal, if we're approved in December, Id still easily be looking at a March interview. And it is totally feasible. Its not like there are months and months ahead of us.

That one approval was an I-130 (married).

I see now my timeline has backslid again to Dec. 21-Jan.3. Not long ago it was Dec. 5-15? It's slipped almost a month now. I can't imagine how much more it will slow down next week, the week of Christmas, and the week of New Year's if it still isn't approved by then.

FML.

I think if she's not here by March I'm just moving there.

Are you sure? why would they be in the K1 - 129F list? For some reason I cant access their timeline, so I cant tell.

I'm staying positive, our timeline can get pushed ahead as fast as it was pushed back. yes.gif

what does FML stand for?

FML Fluorometholone
FML Ferret Mailing List
FML Famous Last Words
FML Full Maximum Likelihood
FML For My Life
FML Follow My Lead
FML Flexible Membrane Lining
FML Fiji Muslim League
FML Fashion Mailing List

Do yourself a favor, read the books... they are well done, the movies, not so much...

Ummmm I would rather watch the movies have you seen the fellas they have in it? OMG! Although I'm sure one is young enough to put me in jail for thinking he's that hot but we'll pretend he's old enough....A few more years and I could be considered a cougar smile.gif

ah-hahahaha!

I think they say a 9 year difference qualifies you as a cougar. Over 45 years old, or a nine year gap with the yound fellow. Ive looked into it! ha! laughing.gif

HAHAHAHA! Well I dont qualify with the over 45...not even in a few years but I'm sure there is at least a 9 year age difference between me and that Taylor Lauftner kid sooooo I can officially be a cougar. Ahhhh something I've been working towards for a while. Finally...it's happened smile.gif I should have a drink to celebrate...oh wait...he's not old enough to drink I guess that's out!

I hear them energy drinks are all the craze with the kids these days. Congratulations on reaching a milestone!! hehe!!

I have 2 my daugher is 12 and my son is 5. John doesn't have any and he's ok with not having anymore. I want to be able to have "us" time and I'm concerned that by the time he gets here and we have that time we will feel like we are too old to start having a family beyond what we already have. We will see. We haven't ruled it out but we aren't saying it's a must either. All in due time I suppose.

New Moon is the next story in the Twightlight series so yes it's another vampire movie. My daughter has read the series of books...I haven't bothered I figure I'll just wait for the movies smile.gif I told her we would go the first night it comes out so we are hitting the midnight showing of it. I'm gonna be so tired tomorrow at work. I'll be having to caffiene it up all day tomorrow. It should be a pretty good movie. I liked the first one so I'm hoping this one is just as good!

Wow!! your daughter must be so excited!! The midnight showing - she'll definitely be the cool kid tomorrow at school!

I know what you mean about the "us" time... especially after such a stressful process. I'll want to take time just to breath.
