July 79%
and August 31%

I see the 15 latest approvals, then unapproved petitions from november & december 08, then 2009 (last 12 months altogether).
Nov + Dec 08 account for 18 petitions, which is the number of spots I seem to be behind. I cant find a way to change it.... nevermind... its all relative and I am now under 200 even on my list laughing.gif

I had to get up at 6ish and get straight to work and I was actually ectastic to see 7 approvals - 5 of which from August.
August is now approved at 31%!! dancin5hr.gif

Yes... I think we'll be seeing September filers approved within the next few weeks!!

186 BABY!!!! I feel like the contestants on the Biggest Loser who want to be below 200 smile.gif

funny! laughing.gif

another August filer approved. 2 today... so far. Mondays usually seem like slow days for USCIS.
7/68 = 10% now that is lifting my spirits!

Yes!! So lucky to have your man visiting!!! Enjoy the time with him!

I think the reason our timelines moved further so much is because of people from way back getting approved recently (March for one). It moved to the end of January at one point for me and is now receding again!!
I think once when they hit about 70-75%, they start the following month...

Hi,

I hope you guys are holding up and arent getting too depressed. blink.gif

Im happy to see an August filer got approved yesterday... we are getting a little closer, slowly but surely.

Here are some stats re approvals at CSC:
April (58/68) 85%
May (135/151) 89%
June (77/99) 78%
July (50/68) 74%
August (3/67) 4%

Im trying to stay positive and keep hoping they'll start focusing on K1s again soon. There arent that many August filers compared to May or June... If they start working on K1s, it could still go fast for us.

Have a good weekend!
K

They are great stats! cant wait till I see September approvals!! kicking.gif

You like, han? yes.gif

well the week is just beginning and they are already even better!! Not taking into account the couple who actually had sent in their file in May, but taking into account the couple who hasnt filled in their timeline, we are now at 9% for August!! kicking.gif oh yeah!!

Isn't CSC going slower because they are focusing on the I-130's and other visas perhaps? My friend filed for his (I-130..AOS) and got it in less than 2 months recently. Wish CSC would switch focus to the K1's now. I'm getting restless watching the VSC people who filed in September getting NOA2s sad.gif sigh...do we really have to wait 2 more months? sleepy.gif

Sure seems like they are taking care of other things. unsure.gif what crappy timing we have! I hope they start focusing on K1s again very soon.

For those of you going through Montreal afterwards, people are starting to write letters to try to get things moving. Check the US Embassies & Consulates forum for more details if you want to take part in that.

I saw some of them. I'm still thinking about whether I'm going to write a letter or not. I'm wondering if it would just fall on deaf ears because of the fact that I'm not even at the consulate stage yet... I don't know. I know what you mean, but I think that if they get a lot of letters, they might start to realise they need to address the problem. The same could be said for people who are already approved but are still writing the letter. And it will affect you soon enough. It would be pretty amazing if by the time we got to that stage, they had pretty much worked through the backlog. Power in numbers is what I say. Anyway, Im not trying to pressure anybody into doing it, I was debating it as well and this is my reasoning.

I think a part of me is still hoping that we all will get approvals sooner than we plan, but that might just be wishful thinking, lol. You never know!! There arent that many people ahead of us... it's just a matter of CSC approving more than a handful of applications a week. Im really just hoping to get approved within my predicted timeline, but we saw what happens when a center starts focusing on K1s... it moves very fast! so keep hoping!! we have to stay positive!

Since John has been laid off from work until after the new year we've decided that he is going to come for a visit and we'll fly back together at Christmas. I'm SOOOOO excited that he's going to be here in 2 weeks I can't wait! What a great weekend this has turned out to be!

Oh lucky girl!! kicking.gif I was hoping Matt would get laid-off with job attached for a while so he could come and stay with me!! lol
He booked his tix a few days ago to come spend 2 weeks over the holidays and I am so excited too! I needed something to look forward to.

So let's try to keep positive and send CSC good, energetic vibes so that adjudicators stay focused and get sh!t done!! lol
I was reading the CSC July filers thread yesterday. A few of them are still waiting for their noa2s, and they were saying last week was unusually slow - I think they even had some theory about the uscis website being down. Im sure these people have been checking Igor's list for the last 3 months, so they would know it wasnt usually like that. What ever it was, let's hope that was the slowest week we'll ever see and that we get approvals by the dozens at CSC from now on!! good.gif

For those of you going through Montreal afterwards, people are starting to write letters to try to get things moving. Check the US Embassies & Consulates forum for more details if you want to take part in that.

Ditto, but I'm not looking forward to the consulate stage. I recomfort myself by thinking that at least, CSC seems to work on its backlog more than VSC, because as much as I would like to be approved very very soon, I would really hate to be skipped in the process, and still be waiting in January while people from October or November are being approved. I feel so bad for people from June or earlier watching couples from September being approved while they are still waiting. That would suck. Seeing people get approved in 20 days is fantastic... but I imagine not so much for people who have already been waiting 5 or 6 months!! huh.gif

Seriously. How pissed would you be if you were a May/June filer and a person who filed 3 wks ago is approved and you are sitting on Shirleys desk while she drops jelly from her donught on the file? I would be spazzing out completely. I'm not really too worried. I don't really want to be approved any earlier than what my timeline says here. Mid December is PLENTY early for us since we are trying to plan things around my parents garden being in bloom smile.gif I guess it's just something to see where all of us are pins and needles waiting and even though I really don't need it done any earlier due to our plans something in me says just get it done so I know at least one part is out of the way. More just to set myself at ease and stop thinking about it.

I feel for the folks who have to go through Montreal. I keep reading all these things that say they are so far behind and that the wait just to have the interview is 6 months...that's CRAZY! Don't you wonder what the heck takes so long?

too funny! that's pretty much what Im picturing too, some disorganised slacker using somebody's file as a coaster! nice big coffee ring on it lol

same for me... I never really hoped for anything earlier than my timeline says, mid-decemberish, but now that I know how backlogged Montreal is, Im just really really hoping my approval doesnt go over the predicted timeline. My fiancé annoys me a little... he's in denial and doesnt realise that shooting for April is actually very optimistic in my case! One of his relatives was telling him he just had to fill in the 129 and we're good to go! headbonk.gif

Hey all..I had to break it to my parents (who live in New Zealand) that unfortunalty I will be getting married in the US because
I have to with this visa..we may come back to NZ and have something for my family down the track..Im hoping my immediate family will come over..but its hard when I dont know exactly when the wedding will be until I know I have the visa..arghhh wacko.gif

I know, it's tough. When we first announced we were engaged, and that we had to get married in the states, my mom tried guiltripping me for days, going on about how traditionnally the wedding takes place in the bride's hometown. I kept saying we had no choice, it was a major condition of the visa, but she acted like I was a bad daughter!!! Now my mom realised it wasnt my decision and came around, but my dad and brother arent excited at all about travelling to come to my wedding : ( lame arses.
What we are planning on doing is a civil wedding as soon as I get there, a symbolic wedding in a resort at the beach - with hopefully our immediate family and close friends, and receptions in both our hometowns at a later date for the people who couldnt make it.

BTW, where are you from in NZ? I spent over a year in oz and about a month in NZ about 4 years ago. I really want to go back - I had such a good time... it was gorgeous and people were so nice.

I am originally from Wellington, but have been living in Australia mostly for the last 8 years..where were you living when you were in Oz?

I spent a couple of days in Wellington. It was a nice town! I dated a really nice guy from Wellington too... he had moved to Oz as well though.
I was in Melbourne. I had such a great time!! I didnt want to leave. Made awesome friends. Where are you?

This really doesn't have anything to do with the K1 process but I want to share anyhow. I just made my first purchase towards our wedding...well beyond my dress smile.gif I'm so excited to be making plans. I just can't wait for John to get here so we can start our life! Here's to the future! Good luck everyone!

What did you get, what did you get??
I know what you mean!! Im the one who will be moving to be with Matt, but I just cant wait.

More approvals today btw!! kicking.gif

I got my dress a long time ago because I found it and thought it was perfect for the garden wedding we are going to have. But I bought turqois paper lanterns to hang in the tent we will have our reception in. Another friend of mine is getting married in Feb and she hasn't bought anything yet. I think she's annoyed that I've started HA! Oh well I'm excited about our future and I'm ready to get started so if this is what I need to do to pacify my time until John gets here so be it!

That sounds pretty!! I love turquoise.
I totally agree about pacifying yourself with the planning! When is your wedding? I would do the same if the wedding was in my home town.
I was starting to plan for our wedding too (with the same reasoning as you - to give me something fun to look forward to), but my fiance's brother started getting too involved and discouraged me!! he was taking over my plans LOL

We are shooting for June 5th. Since we are having it in my parents garden the only thing that we really HAVE to reserve in advance is the tent, chairs, and tables and if I have to change the date I won't loose out on the deposit for that stuff since I will be using it eventually smile.gif
That's great. I wish we could have a place like that to do it at. Would love a June wedding! : )

How did your fiances brother take over? Is he gay? HA! Not that there's anthing wrong! Take charge. My mom can be a little crazy like that sometimes but she knows what she says an opinion and not a decision so all in all I think it's going ok.
Gay? Oh yeah. Not that there's anything wrong with that. LOL hehe I started talking to him about ideas for fun, and he just ignored all my ideas and came up with his choice of flowers , a band, a venue, a theme, etc. He wants things to be very "classy", but it just looks stuffy and pretentious to me... So he kind took the fun out of it for me and added stress, because he takes things really personal when people try to say it's not what they want. Whatever... Im done talking about it with him... I think we'll do a civil wedding at city hall when I first arrive, and then plan the wedding we want, without so much pressure. We're thinking a beach wedding in a resort.

I was starting to plan for our wedding too (with the same reasoning as you - to give me something fun to look forward to), but my fiance's brother started getting too involved and discouraged me!! he was taking over my plans LOL

Happy Monday people! (gag)

Hope you had a good weekend!

Ive been checking Igor's list this morning hoping we get another mass approval at CSC. The 15 approvals on Friday makes it look like a quarter of July filers are approved. Sure cheered me up! let's pray this keeps up! luv.gif

Hello everyone!

Looking at Igor's List this morning, it seems like there is a little bit of action at CSC! Let's hope this becomes a trend!

Its not much, but the way things were going, I was starting to think we'd get adjudicated in May next year or something!

have a good weekend!

Check cashed last night. I was worried that they may not accept the packet after I read this:
USCIS Tips for Assembling Applications for Mailing
I think I did nearly everything they requested we don't do. I was expecting them the shred the check and toss our packet in the trash. I had no idea that this was out there. I completely missed the link to this on the VJ guide. I need an emoticon for banging my head against a wall.

I never saw those tips before...

Well congrats on getting your check cashed!! thats good news!

Anybody else freaking out about how slow CSC is compared to VSC!?!

I just checked Igors List and about 13 VSC cases got approved just yesterday, whereas CSC seems to approve a couple of cases every 2-3 days!
what the .... is going on??? mad.gif
Looks like 2 thirds of July K1s are approved in VSC, and a bunch from August.
Dont get me wrong... Im happy for people getting approved so quickly but I wish there would be some movement at CSC.

Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Thank you!

Matt got the case number, and we received our NOA1 on the 22nd.

Cant sign up into the UCSIS account I just created (!), but I did get so see the case status, so it doesn't matter for now. tongue.gif

Hopefully its smooth sailing for us all now!

Thanks for the replies, I'll wait a couple more days then before I truly get concerned laughing.gif The check hasn't been cashed yet, but it usually takes a day or two to show up in my account anyway.

Yeah, I wouldnt worry at all!
We got the NOA1 the day after they received the file (but only found out 4-5 days later).
They typically cash the check 1-2 days after your NOA1.

I got delivery confirmation from USPS on Monday but I have not received an email saying anything about the NOA1 from the VSC. Is this normal? I see in many signatures something like:

Day 1: sent
Day 2: delivered
Day 3: NOA1
Day 7: NOA1 hard copy

I am probably worrying too much, but the fact I have not even gotten an email yet makes me concerned.

Hi!

I filed last month... We never got an email confirming receipt. We saw the check was cashed (which means the file was complete enough for them to accept it - if something major is missing, they return the whole file). On the back of the check, you can see your 13 digit case number (VSC starts with EAC and CSC starts with WACxxxxxxxxxx). Once you have your case number, you can log on to the USCIS website and see your case status, and create an account, to see case updates (or "touches" in VJ talk). You can then register for email or text case updates. They will only send you these in case of RFE or approval (not touches).
Some banks let you upload the image of your check, or will send you your cashed check. If its not the case, you have to wait for the NOA1 hard copy to arrive by regular mail to get your case number.

Good luck!!
